A simple family owned Thai place that serves up classic Thai cuisine. They have very few parking spots, but street parking available. The inside has an ourdoor and inside area. Service is super friendly and helpful if youre undecided. The cooking is earnest and they add some extra flair to liven it up. I tried the Knom Gean which is a curry fish noodle dish that was different and tasty. The noodles were buckwheat and a tad overcooked, but the curry was very flavorful. The Pad See Ew was straightforward and good too. The Sticky Rice and Mango was also classically made, but wished they had some sesame seeds on top. Overall, a pretty solid Thai spot that will satisfy.

I came here to sell second-hand clothes, and when I passed by this store, I felt like it was a gourmet store. The food portions and taste are great! Very delicious and authentic Thai food, the atmosphere and service are also great.

The coconut rice is the best! I ordered pineapple coconut rice salmon... the flavors mix really good I am not a fan of pineapple pizza but this was a good experience.. DISAPPOINTED in the fact that I got 5 little chunks of salmon.. for this big rice mountain not enough lemme say that..I saw people next to me ordering the lunch specials and they looked more proteinic than mine that was from the regular menu..The orange drink is Thai Tea taste similar as a Korean bubble tea without the bubbles haha

I tried the pad Thai, Thai Thea and the appetizer for two!The pad Thai was so good, just the right sweetness. I like to add spicy chili sauce for more flavor. 9/10The Thai tea was authentic & so gooooood. 11/10The appetizer for two was 10/10, we got to try everything and I liked each item!The service was fast and our server was friendly. I’d recommend this restaurant, give it a shot!

This place was highly recommended by a couple locals from the area for both the delicious food and verrry reasonable prices.Stopped by during lunch and gave their lunch special a try, I had the teriyaki salmon, the pad see u and a couple of the dumplings & dumplings.LOVEDDD it!! The food was flavorful and very tasty, the service was genuine and the outdoor seating are was a nice touch. I’ll be coming back!!

Atmosphere is very casual but the food was amazing and spotlessly clean. Reminds me of hole in the wall restaurants in Thailand. I had green curry with chicken. Perfect heat. Big portions. Plenty of veggies, protein and sauce. Came out so fast. Thai iced tea available in choice of alternative milks (I had almond).Fast, clean, inexpensive, easy parking. Great food. Friendly service. Amazing small thai place. 5 stars.

Hands down best Thai food in all the country I had so far. And their prices are so reasonable! This place is truly a hidden gem. Has tons of regulars, and you will find yourself becoming one too. The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and they remember faces. In addition to all that, the vibe here is amazing. Perfect for a fancy or casual date. Galanga really makes an impression! Below is a picture of the cashew dish with beef and brown rice. Their panang chicken is a MUST try too. One of my other favorite dishes.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, kind customer service, nice outdoor dining.Ive ordered here many times and my favorite dish is the Spicy Mixed Tofu, which you can request to be vegan (ask for no fish/oyster sauce). It has a fantastic flavor and unique texture.Tonight I dined in for the first time on the back patio, which is very peaceful with plants, birds chirping, spaced-out garden tables, and heaters.I drank the house tea, which is a combination of floral flavors: jasmine, chrysanthemum, and green tea. Absolutely lovely and comes in a mini French press.There are free parking spots in the lot.

There are tables inside and also in the little sunny garden in the back.Their curries are the best; yellow, green or red, with fish, chicken or shrimp, (at your taste or tolerance )from mild to spicy hot. It comes with vegetables and rice, delicious flavors of coconut cream, spices and ginger of the Thai cuisine.Salads, seafood, fish and duck dishes are also a good choice from the menu a la carte.Prices are reasonable, for a two course lunch and tea or soda probably you will pay around 15 dollars.Don’t expect much from the service or the ambience, but you will get a nice smile, politeness from the owners and a flavorful, honest fresh meal.

I read the reviews, everyone says this place is delicious, what did I do wrong? I couldn’t rate this any higher than average. I think a magic wok or happy wok vibe is present here. I don’t like any of those places by the way. I’d definitely like to return and try something else. My go-tos didn’t pan out here.A+ for timing (she said 10min, set timer 10min, as it went off she’s approaching) and meal temp.Firecracker shrimp: tempura batter wasted. In between the sauce and food temp enclosed in a styrofoam container (imagine a meter), 5 of out 100 bites were crispy. The rest of the meal felt as if I was eating a funnel cake.Fried Wonton (minced chicken): clearly I misread this, I was hoping for a bit of cream cheese, so the error was on my part there. I wasn’t impressed even a little bit. Nothing to be desired, for me. Chicken felt dry to the tongue and the sauce was more like what the firecracker shrimp should have had; as it had a better zest to it.

Drunken Noodles were tasty but very spicy. Had to ask for this creamy sauce to cool mouth down. Asked for water which the waiter didnt seem to respond well to who I think is one of the owners and then took his time and after getting the water he proceeded to walk right past me and give to all the other tables including outdoor seating before coming back to me last. This happens again hell get zero tip as he is an owner of the restaurant.

As someone who works in the bustling West Hollywood/Hollywood area, Ive discovered my ultimate go-to spot for lunch - and let me tell you, its a game-changer! The lunch specials at this joint are simply amazing - theyre not only incredibly helpful, but theyre also more than enough to satisfy your hunger pangs. Speaking from personal experience, I highly recommend the Green Curry with Chicken - its a flavor explosion in your mouth! I LOVE their food! I’m really picky about pad Thai and theirs is really good. The som tum and tom kha gai is great and their egg rolls are the best! I don’t know how they keep them from being greasy and soggy when I order delivery. I have yet to try their curries and orange chicken …. Those will be next! Definitely recommend!

Update: the restaurant was closed for two weeks and not answering the phone. We went back when they re-opened and were told they had a plumbing issue but it had been fixed.The next time we went back, we noticed a “B” rating on the door. Upon reviewing the LA County health review online, we learned that the real reason they were closed was due to a “cockroach infestation”. We did not eat and promptly left.As long-time customers, we did not appreciate the dishonesty and will not be going back.Prior review: Have been eating here for 7+ years. It’s amazing from start to finish, service, food, accommodating allergies. Cannot recommend enough.

Our first time back in a few years. The garlic salmon was once my favorite here. This time it was overcooked and dry. The beef in the pad see u was overcooked and tough. Ive dined in at Galanga in the past as well as have ordered to go, and tonight I put an order in for delivery. Not once have I been disappointed with their food. Usually I play it safe by ordering the Galanga fried rice with chicken which is good! However, tonight I wanted to try something different from the menu. Before I ordered online, I called up the restaurant to get insight on the popular pairings with coconut rice. At the suggestion of one of the nice gentlemen who works there, he said his favorite was the Crispy Fish with the Spicy Basil sauce. Im glad I took his advice. Its so good, but it is indeed spicy. Im not normally into spice, but this is well worth it! Not to mention, the coconut rice is delicious!

Food is usually good, always fresh tasting. Teas are hit or miss. Sometimes they taste freshly brewed and other times weak or watery. Service is quick although sometimes a little bit indifferent. Good prices. Dining area is a bit small. You really feel that at lunch time when you have to be careful not to knock into your neighbors table when leaving.

We use to go to a different Thai resturant off of Hollywood Blvd but we wanted to try a different place. The reviews looked pretty good so we went here around 2 pm on a Thursday so there wasnt really a lot of people. The parking situation wasnt the best but it wasnt terrible. We got seated quickly and and got our drinks, a Thai tea and a Thai coffee. They were both amazing! Not to sweet but not to bitter. We ordered just normal pho and a pad Thai and damn were they flavorful and amazing. I cant really explain the taste but it was the best Ive ever had. The portions were large and everything was cheap. We will be coming back when we visit again.

I’ve been going to Galanga since it opened - full disclosure I live nearby in the hood. I’ve had many a lunch - a good $ deal - and a number of dinners there and enjoyed all of them. I especially like the duck noodle soup and the other duck dishes like the spicy duck and the Thai curry duck. It’s getting harder to find duck served in restaurants and at reasonable prices.The coffee and tea are good and likewise in their iced Thai versions.I heartily recommend Galanga Thai restaurant. May it remain in business for many years to come.

I wanted to love this place based on a friends prior visits...I ordered the luncheon special $13, Salmon Teriyaki. Not just a tad dry....it WAS dry and slathered in sweet teriyaki sauce, most likely to compensate for the dryness. The teriyaki sauce reminded me of bottled version. About 3 to 4 oz of salmon with one cup of white rice and four pieces of vegetables. When youre out with friends isnt it always embarrassing to bring these things up to the wait staff and cooks??? Fusion?!

Best Thai food in LA! A low-key joint in West Hollywood that offers a wide array of carefully concocted Thai fusion dishes. Galanga is one of the only few restaurants in LA that me and my wife have been to multiple times. The food is amazing. Dangerous fish is perhaps the best item on the menu; very unique and spicy. Chicken dumplings in penang sauce, lettuce wraps, chicken satay and pad thai are all very good. And above all, the staff is very warm and welcoming.
