Garden Bistro in Rowland Heights

There doesn’t seem to be too many good Cantonese Restaurants anymore. I think so many have closed down since the pandemic. Good to still see this place, our second time here, and it is just packed as before. They are quite busy so I wouldn’t expect to have top notch service, but the lady that helped us was attentive and made sure to get what we needed. It is always good to have people there that know what food they have. The place isn’t too big, but we were able to be seated towards the back in a smaller room.FoodWe always get the baked bolognese if the place has it, and it did not disappoint here. We also had the vermicelli, lamb chops with black pepper sauce with a side of fried rice. The lamb chops was not gamey at all and was seasoned really well. We also tried the grilled chicken pork combo with mushroom sauce, but we liked the pork feet and lamb chops a bit better. Would say it hits the spot for Cantonese food.Usually don’t really like coming to this plaza due to the parking, but I would come back to get my Cantonese food craving again. Until next time !

Place is to loud, not good place to to chit chat with friends or family. Its because of the music.Their food is Western Chinese.Spagetti is good. I like it more than western style. Korean bbq is okay. Braised cod and tofu is good.Some food big portion. sorry no pics of the food.

(9/4/2023) One of the Cantonese spots has a decent price with good quality and portions of food. It has better prices than DFC. Service is good and food comes out fast. Recommended Porkchop, Beef Tenderloin, meat sauce, Cantonese Style coffee and milk tea. Definitely come back because of the good prices and good quality of food.

The food is great here. Parking isnt the best, very tight spots up front, or you can park in the very back. Restaurant is a little tight for seating, but this place does get busy during lunch, so it makes sense. Filet Mignon is delicious. Prices reasonable for what you get but they have gone up like everything else

Hong Kong style Cafe with lots of variety on the menu. Came for dinner and enjoyed their set meal and chow Mein. Food was good and prices were very reasonable. Service and atmosphere were average. They are located in Diamond Plaza so lots of parking available.

The food is really good and the portions are generous. The quality of the food has been very consistent. When it is crowded simply write your name in the waiting list. Do not wander too far, as the host calls out names in the waiting list without a speaker/microphone. The menu option is extensive, there are western, eastern and fusion options in the menu. This place can easily satisfy picky eaters or satisfy various cravings. The waiters and waitresses here can understand Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Parking can be really challenging depending on the time. Pro tip, always park in the underground section. Parking is always available and there is a security person on a golfcart checking. The downside of the underground parking is that it is dark and smells weird.

Love their beef pot with white carrots - tender and perfect for one or two bowls of white rice! Id say very close to the taste we found in Hong Kong! I also like their Hong Kong style milk tea, smoothie and taste is just right.

Delicious eats, and as long as you expect aloof service, you’ll love this place like I did. Seriously, for a Chinese restaurant, the Italian dishes were surprisingly tasty!Our faves:1. the uni udon pasta with shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and smelt roe. So rich and creamy - definitely an indulgences. The scallops were also quite large!2. Truffle arugula pizza stank so good! Extra cheesy and melty, I would def get this again.3. grilled chicken with black pepper sauce was huge and crispy! I couldn’t believe the size and flavor when it came out.4. Indo fried rice - nice and spicy and packed with proteins like chicken and shrimp. Portion was also ginormous.5. Beef chow fun has nice long flat rice noodles, tender beef, onions and bean sprouts.As mentioned, service could improve. Waiters just stand around chatting and messing w the tv channels. It wasn’t even busy and we had to refill our own tea and water. I honestly didn’t mind Bcs the food was so yummy.

We didnt know this place until we tried to eat at the Capital dim sum nearby. The line was sooo long that we searched for another restaurant... and we found this great delicious place. Food serving was a lot,too. We definitely will be back.

This restaurant offers variety of food ranging from Italian food (pizza, spaghetti, linguine) to Chinese and Japanese (chow fun, chow mein, grilled food, porridge, Japanese ramen,curry,seafood and other dishes. Prices are reasonable, portions are big and service is good. I recommend this restaurant.
