Ive been coming to Garden India for their food a year or two now. Their takeaway food beats any of the Indian Restaurants in town, and at a better price point. The food is flavorful and authentic, and the passion of the owners is evident. I have loved every dish Ive had.If you are looking for quality Indian Food in Ventura County, this is number one.Their grocery store is wonderful as well - they are the stop if you need quality rice, spices, or any other specialty ingredients.

Went here on a whim. Ordered some Fish curry and Chicken Tikka for lunch. Everything was excellent and well prepared. Service was fast even though they said they had a lot of evening party orders. The grocery selection had the usual stuff ... missing some Haldiram products but lots of south Indian selections.

Totally unassuming place to get delicious Indian food. Got the chicken korma lunch special. Exactly what I was craving. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. It’s in a grocery though, so not the best ambiance, but will definitely be ordering takeout again.

Ordered butter chicken and garlic naan through doordash, my driver for some reason took my order back so I went to pick it up. The owners were so friendly and apologetic gave me some free sweets. The food was incredible and worth the drive!

Holy cow! This was the most tender, flavorful Buttered Chicken Ive ever had! The Garlic Naan was coated with minced garlic but wasnt oily!If they offer you a Mango Lassi SAY YES!The woman that helped me was so kind and hospitable that I regret not eating there with her. Seriously, Im gonna lose sleep over it.I cant wait until I can try more of their dishes.

I would given Garden India food preparation a 5 star. I am pregnant and my husband is bringing food from Garden India every week from past month. Food is awesome, tasty, and flavorful, especially mixed vegetable korma.Great job with the taste, Garden India.

Loved the food. If you are looking for homemade and not too greasy food this place is for you! We ordered Tandoori chicken and green beans, Fish curry and Saag Chicken. We ordered here twice and there was no difference in the food. The owner was very kind and helpful too.This place is a great stop for food if you are visiting Thousand Oaks.Definitely visiting next time we are in town!

Food had good flavor and was made fresh. Nan was awesome and a lot of spice if you want it. Only negatives were the lack of fresh veggies, or lack of quantity of veggies, as well as bland (probably frozen) proteins like shrimp and chicken. Great service, so Id go again.

I was at the grocery store (which also has a connected restaurant) with my family last month. When the owner came to know that we were from out of town, he asked the chef to prepare some take away food for us (for free). Very kind of him, we cannot forget his kindness. God bless him.

The best Indian food for very good price and the owners are really really nice ! I think is a family business and it’s hard to find this type of no frills mom and pop shop with truly excellent Well priced food ! I’m not in Thousand Oaks very often but when I am, i have to go here and stock up ! Wide selection of all my favorites ! I can get enough excellent food to feed me for like a week without feeling like I’mCompletely splurging on takeout, and they really really appreciate their customers! Service can be slower then like a Chipotle style restaurants, it’s a different type of place so don’t be disappointed if you were looking for lunch in 5 minutes . Better to order larger quantities to take home . Seriously, get food here if you’re in the area !

The best aloo gobi I have ever tasted—fresh ginger and herbs make it very flavorful and unlike at other restaurants, not too greasy. The gentleman at the counter was kind and very sharp.

Excellent place to go. I go there regularly as they serve home made style food that is healthy. They are very flexible on our needs. Owners and cook ARE the best.Prices are great and they always have specials!!! And they love to give you free samples to try.

I won’t rate the food as authentic Indian food. Three star only for the serving quantity. Their chicken biryani and other stuff like chicken 65 or chili chicken is a joke.It’s basically good for non-Indian who are not aware of authentic Indian food taste. Biryani is like chicken fried rice with bland taste and other starters are heavily mixed with sauces.

The store is well stocked and the food is good. More importantly, the owners are wonderful and kind enough to ask if a customer is unable to find something. Very pleasant staff!!! Very friendly. Good food. Dishes are ready to eat with low spice level. They provide you samples to taste the food So that you can decide what to order from so many options. They provide separate spicy sauce in case you want your food spicy. Prices are fair enough.

Amazing food, good prices and lovely people. They made kind conversation with a group of friends and myself as we came in. They had us test all the food so we could make an informed decision. They clearly were extremely proud of the quality of their food and wanting to make sure our money was not wasted and we knew we liked what we were getting.I wish I wasnt just visiting cause its the type of place Id frequent if I could. My wife and I found our experience at Garden India to be exceptional. The variety of products available and the knowledge of the owners in point us to the best products. Also very reasonably priced. First time trying Indian food. Went in after getting my nails done to check out. I needed turmeric for my drink that I usually make my self. Seems like they opened up a hot food section recently. The lady there gave me some samples of the food and its AMAZING! I took some chicken marsala (I think thats what its called) its delish! Everyone there is super nice!!! Definitely a family owned which I LOVED. I will be going again : ) I ALMOST forgot! They have a Mango Yogurt drink that is also delish! Cant wait for my son to try it, he LOVES mango. The lady also gave me some tips on how to better my turmeric drink and informed me on Indian food

Very authentic Indian food experience after a long time. Mrs Surjeet was excellent at suggesting dishes. Chef is expert at making dishes. My family and I loved the dishes. Masala puneer is to die for. Dal tadka was awesome. Thank you Garden India. 👍

This was a wonderful experience for me and my family. The owners were very plesant and allowed us to sample all the dishes before we ate. The food was very tasty as well. We were given sweet treats and the mangoe Lassi was perfect. We will be going back soon.!!

Hard working couple who run the store. Items are laid out well...with immediate help when needed. Vegetables are fresh though in limited supply. They are starting up their food section in a couple of weeks. Best of luck....its not easy to run a small business!

Ok. I almost never give 5 stars, this place for what you expect is 11 stars. The family that runs it is so so friendly and helpful. We got garlic naan, butter chicken, and chicken prokora. 100% we are going back. It looks like nothing, but it is amazing food, great flavor, incredible helpful staff, and delicious. Most visit!!

Te place is clean friendly service. If you are going for groceries its a pretty good spot. They have a pretty good selection of Indian goods. I got the chicken tikka masala and it was ok. Overall you pay for what you get... I got the chicken tikka masal... rice comes separate. The flavor was just ok nothing that amazing. Would only go back for the grocery portion.

Really bad food service. This was my first time visiting this place and will be the last one. The food that I order was not fresh at all. I order pani puri the puri smelled expired and the water was so blend. The chef was not wearing a mask at the time of cooking. And the lasi that I order was just white water with no test. I recommend other restaurants near by if you craving a real India food.
