Gen Korean BBQ House in Glendale

The food is always delicious and on point. The staff pay attention to you and are always ready to bring you want you want but they don’t hover over you. I’ve been a few times and I always have a great experience.My only two complaints… the rest rooms have never been attended to correctly when I’ve visited. In fact I didn’t post a photo of the men’s toilet because it was too gross. The manager should really keep better tabs on keeping it clean.The second thing seems minor but it takes away from the experience. Sitting in the booth near the door, the sun was shining so bright in my eyes that I couldn’t look at other people on my booth. A simple scroll screen could take care of this. Again, I realize it seems minor but it truly detracts from the overall experience.

Ive been to two other Gen locations and this one is definitely one of my favorite ones.Two of my friends and I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and as long as you put your name and phone number down in the waitlist, things run smoothly.The staff is friendly and serviceable, the food is delicious and the ambiance is super chill and nice.I specially liked how they ask periodically if youd like to place another order of meats or side dishes for the table. Truly very attentive people.Bulgogi and galby are always my go-to in these places. Highly recommended.

Great Korean BBQ. We had several plates and I enjoyed everything. Especially the dumplings and the potato salad were very nice. We went there at 3pm so it was not busy at all. In the evening I assume it can fill up and that people have to wait. The staff is very attentive and they refill and bring new meat platters quite quickly. The only negative thing I have to add is that the floor was dirty and quite sticky.

The service was mediocre they didnt check on us very much and that was slow bringing out the meat one of the burners kept going off and I couldnt figure out how to keep it going. So it took forever to cook the meat for eight people on one burner. The servers were pleasant enough just not as helpful as we would have hoped for

We asked for food and it didnt come. 1st time at Gen and no one told us about 1 1/2 limit. We were brought the bill by one of the hostesses with no pen to sign the receipt. She came back to see if the bill was ready and it wasnt because we didnt have a pen. It just seemed rude. The waiter came over and we wanted to order food but he mentioned our time was up but we had no pen to sign the bill. We asked for different food and had to ask 3 & 4 times before we got our food. Never got refills on our water.

Best Korean BBQ experience Ive had in Los Angeles. Korean BBQ is my #1 thing to do in LA, and there are so many choices it can get overwhelming to choose!This place is super clean, great atmosphere, super awesome staff. Excellent experience. Our serve EJ was wonderful. Definitely going back here next time Im in town

Very good. Love coming to this place. I drive 2 and half hours once in a while just to eat here. Only if they had one closer to me.

I had debating writing about this location but now with more clarity I decided to actually put down my thoughts. This location is not worth the hype nor the wait. If you want authentic Korean locations, then I suggest not coming to this wanabee establishment. We came here based on the stars but I should have known things were going to be bad based on the attitude from the front of house staff. The restaurant atmosphere is so chaotic and when you ask for any help or even advise, they might as well spit in your face. It was nothing but rude services. The air circulation in this place is not all that great. - The girl who brought back our changed dropped the money and didnt even bother to pick it up. She just looked at it and walked away.Forget even asking to be placed anywhere else in the restaurant. They had us wait when the restaurant wasnt even busy but this has all to be tied with the parking situation ..........anyways...please dont come here--- go to Korean Town for authentic Korean BBQ...what does Glendale know..

Generous portions. Good meats. All you can eat barbecue.. great for big eaters and not so big eaters like me. Excellent service.

Ive been coming here for 3 years, recently they got a B on their food safety rating. look it up. Servers are always excellent, but on my last visit the premium steak was cut by a 9 year old and the marinated meats had way more fat and much stringier fat than ever before. They cut quality down on everything but the brisket, which is not unscathed as now its cut much thicker for whatever reason. I woke up morning after sick, which has NEVER been a problem for me. I have an amazing immune system, Ive eaten raw chicken and felt better than today. No alcohol last night. Staff is nice, atmosphere is great but unfortunately I will not ever be coming back here, as the problem seems to be systemic from the top down. So disappointing.
