Hands down the best European deli that we have in Napa! If you want to skip the line, arrive before 11 AM. I arrived at 10:45 AM and no line at all! The specialty sandwiches are my favorite!! The hot foods are always delicious. Did you know they even sell some items frozen for easy transportation? It’s always the best to grab some food from here for a beach or wine tasting day!

I wish I could give them 10 stars. This place was incredible. They had any option you could possibly want for a sandwich and so many other things to choose from. In addition to the deli, they have a little market as well. The staff was so friendly and the sandwich was great.

This sandwich shop was recommended to me by a staff member of the Silver Oaks winery. I was blown away by how wonderful the sandwich was. You can choose a standard sandwich from their menu or make your own. Everything is made fresh as you order. The deli was well staffed and very attentive. They also have small tables where you can sit and eat. I had half of my sandwich at the deli and the other half a bit later after doing some local wine tastings. Highly recommend!

At 1pm on a Friday there was predictably a short wait, but once my number came up, I was served in a very quick and friendly manner. All the employees seemed to be in a good mood, working hard but not stressed, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. And the sandwich was to die for! Yum. Ill definitely be coming back.

Classic Italian delicatessen, serving huge sandwiches and some hot foods. I really, really enjoyed the ravioli. Its soft, fresh, and decadent. They also sell frozen ravioli, sauces, and other italian pantry items.Make sure to pull a ticket because lines can be very long during peak hours.

This place is a must visit! Delicious, generously portioned sandwiches with a super cute wine/coffee bar and all the Italian goods you could want, all in one spot. This is no hidden gem, so be prepared to wait in line for the deli. Faves are #4 (caprese + prosciutto sandwich) and #11 (Genovas Italian-ed out BLT), all on soft sour. Regardless of the days planned meals, Ill try to stop by to get these to lug back home and savor.

I miss the institution in Oakland. I hate having to come all the way to Napa to experience a true Italian delicatessen. But every time Im in Napa, this is a must-stop place. The clam chowder is extremely delicious with big pieces of clam. Theyre friendly and move very quickly to get through the long lines. It is worth the wait. My go-to sandwich is the Italian combo with hot coppa added on an onion roll. Other things of note that Ive never leave without are the deviled eggs and the stuffed peppers with prosciutto and feta cheese.

I got a cheese sandwich here for $13, and while it wasnt bad, it really wasnt anything all that special either. And it was quite small, too. I also got a $5 small macaroni salad that I actually disliked. It was runny/watery and just tasted weird to me (maybe too much dill? Im not sure). Ill probably try their ravioli sometime, but I doubt Ill get another sandwich here. They do have a good cheese selection, tho.

Well I was really excited to grab a sandwich from my favorite spot in my old home town. After the first bite all the excitement went away quickly. Dutch crunch bread is supposed to be crunchy. Hence the name. It was almost greasy and not appetizing at all.$40 later for 2 sandwiches 1 drink and a 1/2 pint of salad. 100% disappointed, so many other great choices in the area I doubt Ill go back. Even the marinated mushrooms are junk now.

If you are in Napa, this is a great place to eat - real Italian and really good !If your touring area for the day, stop here for picnic lunch to then eat around vineyards. Been eating here for decades and its still great. Old fashioned pull a number ticket and wait till your turn. Wonderful sandwiches, and antipasto. Try the green tortellini pasta salad or the green minestrone soup after your sandwich. Wonderful.

I love this deli have been going here for more then 10 years. Everything taste great and authentic. Sometimes the lines are very very long so plan ahead and be patient.I will say for those who are celiac or gluten intolerance you will pay 2.00$ more for a protien style (lettuce wrap) sandwich. I was just informed of this increase in pricing today. This is kinda frustrating because depending on the sandwich you get you could pay 12-18$ just to have it be bread free in an iceberg lettuce wrap. I do not know why post covid they have chosen to charge more for a bread free lettuce wrap sandwich since a regular sandwich with bread also includes lettuce... but thats where they are at now.It is important to not they do not offer any gluten free bread or any pre-made gluten free pasta or pasta salads.You can purchase meat and cheese by the pound as well as potatoe salad, anti pasta, olives, mushrooms, ect by the half pint, pint, and quart. They also offer warm selections such as lasagna, half chicken, soups, ect.

This is a place of nostalgia to me. The setting reminds me of back in the day on the east coast where customer service is first. The gentlemen where ties with apron, the ladies serve with kindnes & friendly too. Both are professional and accommodating. Old school deli. The food is authentically delicious. You pull a number, browse and shop until they call your number. The food portions are perfect and fresh. Pricing is reasonable. I cannot remember if I have had a cannoli or not.. since I cannot remember i guess I have to get some 😉! We go when ever we are in the area. Love love Genova! Chk them out!

I came this past Monday, I ordered a honey turkey sandwich with provolone cheese, lettuce, light tomato onion, vinegar and I said no mayonnaise and wanted Dijon mustard. I didn’t get not one lick of mustard, my whole sandwich was covered in mayonnaise🤮I was disgusted I couldn’t even finish it, so next time, even though it’s busy during lunch time hours, the people that make the sandwiches should REALLY pay attention, and really listen instead of rushing, because you don’t know if you miss something and put the wrong thing on someone’s sandwich, they could be allergic you never know, unfortunately, I will not be returning

Amazing Italian Deli! Great place to get sandwiches to order as well as other pre-made salad and picnic supplies. If you want to have a picnic in or around Napa valley, Genova is an excellent stop driving up valley. Ordering is easy and people working there are very friendly. 5 people behind the counter. 2 were making sandwiches, 1 was sweeping back there, 2 others.... maybe one was helping another customer. We watched someone walk out because there was no one at the register then it happened to my friend. They need to be more customer oriented. We almost left. And remind them to smile! When Im in town visiting family one of my favorite places a definite must a great Italian deli. My favorite things are the sandwiches freshly baked bread and great meats and cheeses. Juan just made the best sandwich I have ever had, it was the Italian combo on Dutch crunch bread with avocados. This sandwich tasted so good all other sandwiches will now pale in comparison. HORRIBLE customer service i stood in line for 30minutea before realizing that they work of a ticket to make sandwiches. There was a lot of people standing in line all wondering why they were allowing people who just walked in to order before us, I then asked a worker and he was very rude with his reply. saying you must not be local .Dont waste your time, because they will waste yours and then be rude about it.

Genova Delicatessen is the place to go for Italian deli sandwiches. Wide assortment of breads & sandwich meat/cheese to choose from. I also recommend their calamari salad. For dessert, try enjoying their cannoli. Genova Delicatessen is as Italian as you can get. It is an Italian deli landmark in Napa. Try to avoid going between 11:30 am - 1:30 pm to avoid the very large deli sandwich lunch crowd, if possible.Suggestion: Genova should consider putting a couple more layers of meat on its $13 sandwiches. 😊

An extra added bonus of the deli is a coffee bar with small tables and small shop with premium, imported Italian grocery items. Im really glad I randomly noticed this place when I was in Napa. Basically, the best sandwich in Napa. A real Italian deli, offering sandwiches, antipasto, hot foods, Italian staples, Panettone around Christmastime, and a nice coffee bar. Dont be boring and just get a turkey sandwich; try something new. They have Galantina (the best cold meat!), plus all the Italian cold meats. Be sure to opt for the imported Mortadella and Prosciutto - tastes much better than the domestic. They have a variety of bread options for the sandwiches. My favorite is the Genova sourdough roll. A friendly and knowledgeable staff will offer suggestions, make your sandwich exactly as you want it, grate your parmigiana cheese, and generally ensure that you have a good visit. Gets very crowded at lunchtime, so best to order your sandwich before 11 am, or be prepared to wait. One sandwich can easily feed two people, or provide two meals.

Whoa. Stop the car and get in here for a sandwich, take a salami home. These guys are artists. Pat helped me assemble a tasty sandwich in the traditional Italian method-simple. The imported prosciutto was visibly better than the domestic, the taste was phenomenal. The soft sour dough undeniably perfect for a sandwich. I was really disappointed when Monticello Deli went out of business, losing me my favorite delicatessen. While searching for a place to scratch my deli sandwich itch, we stopped by Genova and found it a more-than-suitable replacement. Im not sure why u had never given this city institution a fair shake before, but I definitely regret not doing so now. The food and ambiance are great, the service is friendly and speedy (especially considering how popular this spot is), and theres definitely something for everyone.

Felt like my friend and I were treated like queens. Went in at prime lunch time but after waiting our turn received full treatment. I am gluten free, not by choice, and when I asked if the polenta was gluten free, I was rudely dismissed with We dont have anything gluten free. Well, they have meats, chicken, some salad, etc. When I stated that polenta is usually gf, the man went and asked his co worker and was dismissed as nothing is gf here. I was struck by how arrogant the taller guy was as he asked me if I had a number when I was one of two people standing at the counter. There were no numbers as they were stuck in the machine. He sent me back to the original guy waiting on my sister. There was no friendliness at all as I remember from a few years back. I ordered a couple of slices of roast beef and cheese. I was appalled that the man picked them up with his hands. We should have walked out then and there. He packed it in the bag with the hot soup and lasagna and when I got home, the cheese was melted and stuck to the paper. My mother said the minestrone was not flavorful so was quite disappointed. The arrogance and lack of good customer service is off putting.

This is hands-down the best deli you will find in Napa Valley. On our Wine Tours, atleast 75% of our clients order sandwiches and then eat them picnic style at a winery. I Had a sandwich and a quart and minestrone soup. The price was out of this world. --- The sandwich was the worst sandwich Ive ever had. The meat was sparce, mostly in the middle, with nothing on the ends. Paid for extra cheese, and i got one slice. One thin slice of cheese!--- The ministrone soup sucked. Any canned minestrone soup is by, far, better. --- The store across the street makes sandwiches that include cheese and soup for half the cost.
