Loved the decor and service. Wish there were more salads or veggie dishes without soy protein. Quality is ok, definitely not fine dining. Orange chicken was good.

5 stars does not give this place enough justice. First reason why I love this place is because they offer the best service, if there is just one customer to be served or 20+. They are on it. My favorite host and server is Ben! He is always most professional, thoughtful and considerate. The food is great here and fresh! I have no complaints and we’ve been eating here for years now. This restaurant is on my top 5 favorite restaurants locally.

Came in a little late, they only had 30 minutes before closing. The staff was so kind and welcomed us in and didnt make us feel rushed at all.The restaurant was super clean and fresh feeling.The food came out pretty fast, it was fresh and delicious. Loved that the wonton soup was chicken (so many places are pork and I dont eat pork). The dumplings were mouth watering and the custard buns were so good that we brought extra home.The server let us know when the kitchen was closing and offered us to order anything else before. He has a conversation with us and was very friendly.Will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend.

Been meaning to come for years and glad I finally did. We each had a lunch special, which included tasty Hot & Sour Soup and a side of white or fried rice. The Kung Pao Chicken was flavorful, not too spicy, with very tender chicken. The Mongolian Beef was the best I’ve had in years - tender thin beef strips loaded with flavor. The pork bun was okay, a little too doughy for me. Service was splendid. We’ll be back with friends!

Nice decor, bright, window seats. Very friendly and attaintive service staff. Brought our appetizers first and then the main courses later, well timed. The dishes were all a bit above average, freshly made. Liked the soft shell crab roll, refreshing. The tofu veg was good, but a bit on the salty side. The dim sum samplers were ok.

Went here for a Monday evening date night. Great food with lots of vegetarian options and unexpectedly good ambience. The service was also excellent; though there was only one person covering all the tables, he checked in on us regularly and was very polite and thoughtful.Food wise, our favorites were the vegetarian dim sum and the Sautéed Tofu with Cumin. Good size portions, we could probably have shared one entrée along with dim sum. Ended up taking home leftovers, which is also nice.

Saw a Ginger Cafe Vlog on YouTube and the advertisement seem sincere and a pleasant place to try.We came here today for lunch; upon arrival we were greeted by a kind staff and guided us to our table . Restaurant didnt seem busy, there were just one couple in the restaurant. Small patio seating available as well.Restaurant has an upscale family atmosphere feel, spacious, clean, and nicely decorated with an Asian theme ; blade ceiling fans, chinese engraved calligraphy gold plate, and a carve wooden bust of Buddha . Theres a bar near the entrance; unfortunately, Happy Hours All Day is no longer available.Restaurant is in the north side of Matilda, across from P.F Chang. The lot is large with plentiful parking.Every dish was absolutely delicious and presentation of each dish was eye catching as well.We ordered.Green tea- The green tea was excellent; equal parts bitter and sweet with a floral grassy aroma.Shanghai Dumplings - Yummy juicy pork, veggies, and seasonings wrapped in delicate dumpling skin. You can eat these dumplings with a chopstick, fork, or a spoon. Eating with fork and chopstick can get a bit messy at times; the dumpling skin is so delicate, the fillings and savory juice can splatter out once it breaks through. It also comes with a light dipping sauce, slightly vinegary, with a few slivers of ginger in it.Beef and Potatoes - Omg ! crispy potatoes, marinated tenderize beef, added seasonings cooked to perfection, and placed on a simple dish. . Its so delicious!Squid ink lobster dumplings - lobster fillings encased in a squid ink skin. Its good, although the squid ink is too subtle to notice by my taste.Highly recommend Ginger Cafe.

I wanted to like this place but the Peking duck is irredeemably bad. I’ve had Peking duck dozens of times over the past 18 years and this truly was the worst. I did takeout, which shouldn’t have affected it that much, but it was extremely dry and poorly seasoned. The skin lacked the telltale shiny brown of typical Peking ducks and didn’t taste right either, being seasoned more like black pepper chicken would be. It was also far too expensive for Peking duck, much less of this quality.

Small and simple cafe serving asian food, more of american Chinese I’d say. With P.F. Changs right across the street it’s does not have a full house, which works out for the best if you need a nice and quiet place to dine in on a weekend. The highlight of our dinner were the two most cheapest items we bought - the egg fried rice (which I must say was really good especially given the price) and the ginger ale mocktail. The salt and pepper shrimp were okay, may be because we had previously read reviews and had high hopes about the dish.

I prefer to support the little guys and independently owned places.The service was spectacular and the lack of stars in NO way reflects on the staff. However, I draw the line at watering down alcohol and skimping on the ingredients in the food.I had ordered an Old Fashioned and was shocked at how it tasted, so I asked for a Makers Mark neat to be absolutely sure. FYI when you mix bourbon with water you can visibly see it.My orange beef had no chilies and no tangerine peel and tasted like peanuts.I feel awful writing this review but it needs to be said.

Service is always excellent. Usually can be seated right away. The dining area consists of a large circular room with a tall ceiling and tall windows. Very unique and pleasant. I like their Crispy Tofu, and their Kung Pao Chicken. Full bar, good beer and wine selections.

Food was served an hour after we arrived. Even the appetizers were an hour late. There were very few other people at the time and those who came after us got their order served before us. The waitress mostly ignored us. Gave me ice water even though I specifically asked for water with no ice. Twice she brought us the wrong food order. I had to inquire about our order multiple times. Our food finally arrived just as we were about to leave after an hour of waiting. I just forced myself to eat it since I was hungry. But the food hardly had any taste. It was either too oily or too salty. We asked - thrice - for a box to pack some of the leftovers but our request kept getting ignored. The place was mostly empty with very few other customers. The only thing that came to us on time was the check/bill. This is an expensive place for poor service and bland food.

Disappointing, portion is good but flavor is not to our taste. The sea bass is totally not worth it, fish is fresh but no flavor. Vegi dish is spicy and the tofu is not too fresh. The calamari dish tastes like rubber. The beef and potato dish is okay. The pork buns in the sampler dish doesnt taste good, the pork inside is mushy. They will need to improve their flavor, not sure how they can survive!

My favorite place to eat lunch during the week. They have fast service for a sit down restaurant and have amazing lunch specials. Chili chicken is one of the most popular choices and I always get it with their egg fried rice. They have big portions for a lunch serving and price ranges from $12-$13 for lunch and comes with soup. they also have a dim sum menu and for the ones i have tried they are pretty good in their taste and quality. I crave their food almost every week!

Great service and selection of pan-Asian food. Being a seafood lover I get plenty of options to choose from including crab, fish, shrimp, scallops and other seafood. The price is a bit on the higher side but did the quality I think its worth it. Staff is friendly menu selection is good -- from the vibe feels like their target demographic is for non-ethnic Chinese, they offer the typical Chinese dishes that are more Westerner-friendly. The menu is in English only and they have quiet a bit of vegetarian options -- which is a great Chinese option to have dim-sum / lunch with non-Asian friends/colleagues. A very pleasant surprise! Once in a while you get a craving for Chinese food. You end up getting the usual fare with the usually so-so service. Not so at Ginger Cafe! I found the service excellent.The ambiance was great. Maybe there is something to feng shui? My waiter(s) arrived with genuine smiles (promptly, even though it was a busy lunchtime) to take my order and when delivering the fare. The quality of the meal was exceptional. The ingredients tasted and looked fresh - none of the over cooked veggies that seem common at such places. This place is NOT using the tricks of the trade manual . Forgive me for writing this Ginger Cafe but you come across like a Thai restaurant . Still, I highly recommend. Keep up the good work!

Food was way too oily to eat. Ordered the Dim Sum Sampler. I tried a bite of each piece because I wanted to make sure it wasnt just that piece. There were 10 pieces. Bad call on my part, I have been burping up bad oil and what not for past hour. The meat inside the dumplings all tasted bad. All of them, except the shrimp, and that was not great either. I am assuming they must have had a late night Monday chef that was new and/or used way too old left out/over ingredients.

Weve eaten there several times for lunch and dinner. Always an excellent experience. We love the food, drinks and service. The Chinese style with other Asian touches is a favorite of ours. The cafe is fairly small and thus much quieter than many other restaurants. There is also a small patio area that is nice when the weather permits.Highly recommended!

If I could give a zero, I would. Way over priced for the quality of food. The eggrolls were really greasy, as if they were fried twice, and the oil tasted like its never cleaned. The pot stickers were the typical frozen gyozas with soy sauce. The pan fried chicken steamed buns were disgusting; the filling was old and dry. The two entrees did not include the white rice and were in white rice containers, which for $16 and $17 is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the chicken was rock hard and inedible. Perhaps dine in is better if youre face to face with them, but were not taking that chance. Never again. Wow.

The atmosphere was elegant, the restaurant was quiet enough to actually have a conversation, and the food was excellent AND well priced. I dined here with my childhood friend. We ordered the 2 dinner special for $30. The dinner included: blue crab dumplings, string bean chicken, mongolian beef, egg rice, and fried banana ice cream. In addition to the dinner special, we also ordered the porcupine custard bun.I really enjoyed the blue crab dumplings. However, both main courses: mongolian beef and the string bean chicken, especially had high levels of sodium. I know as a yelp reader, you dont know much about me. I usually dont consume a lot of fluids. But during the dinner, I drank literally 5 cups of water. And the salt was so overwhelming that I could taste the salt even after gulping down the water. Im not sure what it was- the salt, or the MSG, but they killed it (not in a good way!)The fried banana ice cream was delicious though. It was probably the best thing we had all throughout the meal.The porcupine custard bun was great in presentation, but it lacked flavor and was definitely not as tasty as it looks.Overall, it was OK, but I probably wouldnt come back.

Positioned like P.F. Changs but they actually have quite an interesting and unique menu. Some of the items on the dim sum menu were quite eye-catching like the stingray and the seaweed har gow. You definitely pay a bit of a premium for the creativity in the kitchen though, but if youre bored of the same old Chinese food, then give Ginger Cafe a try!

Expect something different, and its a good thing. I had the Lemongrass Lamb Rack. I was expecting the sear with the redux glazed over it. However, what I got was just as delicious, if not better. Im not sure how they cook the lamb, but it tasted as if the redux was infused into the lamb. It was absolutely delicious and tender. Perhaps the lamb is baked with the redux but didnt ask. 4/5 only because I was only given a spoon and fork, no knife. But I made it work.Ill still recommend Ginger to my friends :)
