Talk about fresh. Good flavorful, crunchy, yummy tasting food. Dumplings were amazing! Not doughy tasting.I loved the Pad Thai the best though, just the right amount of flavor!Atmosphere, seating was nice. If sitting next to the bathroom it is a bit smelly and didn’t really enjoy that.Overall though I would go back for the food. Worth it :)

Stopped here during lunch time on a Sunday. The restaurant was not overly busy with dine in orders. We were promptly seated and had menus quickly. Started out with cream cheese crab puffs which were really good and came out hot. From there we ordered the Shanghai pork dumplings and tamarind seafood hotpot. Both items were delicious. The dumplings were steamed well and had a great filling with sauce to pour over them. The tamarind seafood hotpot was not your traditional hotpot but was really great. It came put together already in a container but arrived hot with a little flame underneath to keep it hot. It had various types of seafood, fish, calamari and shrimp along with some veggies and a wonderful broth that had a nice sweet and very mild spicy flavor. Between splitting the appetizer, dumplings and hotpot we were full but not overly full. The larger dining room was really nicely set up, was a bit cold but tolerable with a sweater. Overall the food was really good, service was good and hoping to visit to try more soon!

We ate some delicious food at Ginger Cafe. Orange chicken, chicken fried rice, chow mein and the vegetarian eggrolls were very good. The crab wrap appetizer was the only food we didnt really like it. The waitress was extremely friendly but we could tell she was under stress having to take care of a lot of tables.

A local spot in town that I unfortunately dont go to enough. Went the other day and was reminded of how delicious their food was. They have a variety of dim sum and so many options for pork, poultry and noodles. Their Crispy Skin Chicken is always my go to, the flavor is extremely pleasant.

This is my go to restaurant in Gilroy to fuel shopping or travel. They have a nice lunch menu. I have had the curry and some other stir fry dishes. My one sensitivity is that the fried food is upsetting. It is like the food is in the oil too long and the oil flavor is strong.Service is good. Tables are clean. Restrooms could be improved.

Can only speak for the food (not the restaurant atmosphere or the staff) as we order delivery. By far my favorite Chinese food that I can get delivered. It is always consistent and flavorful. My favorite is the mushroom beef and my husband enjoys the dim sum. Fried rolls are great too. Overall it’s a bit on the pricier side and we always order too much, but nothing goes to waste as it’s delicious.

We were driving to Southern California and decided to stop by and get some food. Found ginger cafe in Gilroy. Really nice clean restaurant. Great service and perfect smoothing decoration. Waiters and waitresses were very nice and attentive. We order fish and duck, let me tell you I had tried duck before in a very fancy restaurant and I didn’t like but this time I decided to give a try more time. It was delicious really good flavor and cooked perfectly. My partner order fish and it was the whole fish very tasty and so much flavor. We loved This place and if you are in the Gilroy area make sure to stop by and try their food.

Worst experience ever!I don’t understand why do they have such great reviews! I ordered vegetarian noodles. And I could not even take second bite! And I was so damn hungry! There was no taste in food and noodles were undercooked!And their washrooms were so stinky and unclean! Such unhygienic place! Never going back again!

While walking around the shops at Gilroy outlets we saw several posters of wonderfully photographed dishes of Ginger Cafe. They truly worked on us. As we were driving toward the cafe we were telling ourselves not to expect too much as the actual dishes might disappoint. It didnt.All the dishes were great. Its a fusion of asian flavors so it didnt have a monotonous flavor that chinese dishes often have. Food service was quick too. Great restaurant option when in Gilroy.

In A Nutshell:-The Ginger Cafe location in Gilroy is very good.-They had outdoor seating (before it was banned due to stay-at-home orders 12/6/20).-The service was excellent, I hope they can keep their staff.-The food is very plentiful, the dim sum, fried rice & pad thai were all excellent & super tasty.-If you are shopping at the Gilroy Premium Outlets in the future & need some food, I think you should consider eating a meal here.Overall, the food quality is high-end & felt pretty healthy w/ good ingredients, definitely good food!

When I arrived we saw 6 tables free.But still I had to wait 15 min to get a table.Once seated, the Waiter told us they were behind with the food. We ordered and really after 1/2 hour we got our appetizers, 30 min after we got our main dish. I was so hungry.

The ambiance is nice. Took my wife to brunch here on a weekday. It wasnt crowded. We were the 4th party during their lunch.First time here. We tried the dim sum sampler. My wife ordered the rice dish that had chicken, Chinese sausage, and bok choy. I ordered the lemon grass lamb chops. All of it was really good. The lamb was tender and the wine reduction sauce helped to give it the flavor it needed to counter the minimal gamey taste. The prices are a bit on the high side.Service was good. Hostess and waiter were always attentive to our needs. They made sure our beverages were topped off.Overall, a pleasant experience and the food were above average. We will likely give this place another try.

The dim sum is good. We got the lunch special Basil Chicken, do not recommend. The chicken was rubbery and soft we thought it was white fish. The smell from the fish sauce was so bad and it just didn’t taste right (I’m Vietnamese and love fish sauce). I ended up eating white rice with the sauce that comes with the Shang hai dumplings.

Definitely worth visiting. Interesting take on Asian fusion dishes. We have been a regular at their location in Sunnyvale CA. For this Gilroy location, we tried out our favorite Tamarind Seafood Hotpot (suggest sharing for 3-4). Caramelized shrimp is absolutely mouthwatering. A word of caution- unlike other Asian places, they take a bit more time to serve. However, we didn’t mind the wait because the onions in the Shrimp dish were fabulously caramelized.😀

Odd place. Looks like a storefront takeout place from outside. Inside, its a nice restaurant.Interesting menu, but service is uneven.No chopsticks available.Ordered the dim sum sampler. Took a long time to get it. And they served it without any sauces or dips.Which is when we realized that they had never provided the usual bowl of crispy noodles or wontons with the usual sweet and sour dip.Ordered lamb chops. Got 4 tiny chops with a knife only for one of us. Knife was placed on the platter so it fell to the floor as the server was depositing the platter .No big deal. It was replaced- with one clean knife. Didnt come back to ask if everything was ok until much later.Ordered a spicy shrimp dish, which was really good.

After spending a long day outside in the hills doing outoorsy stuff in the heat, and having just a few donuts and some water, we decided to stop by this place for a late lunch, early dinner on the way home.The place bills itself as having influences in Southeast Asia. To me, it was just disappointing. It didnt have any Cantonese flavor, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Thai, or whatever they intended when they said Southeat Asian influence. (Can you say cop out?)It is almost like they cant decide which region to stick with, so they just stick everything on you and hope you dont know any better. When you try to be a generalist in everything...let me put it another way: Jack of all trades. Master of none. People pay to see a specialist who has specialized knowledge to solve their problems. Same thing for restaurants.A quick test on their quality is the standard Cantonese dim sum dish of pork dumplings (shi ma) and shrimp dumplings (you know, the one with the white-color skin wrap). The flavor here was meh. There are other places which do a far better job, cooking these dishes.The price was also high for what they offered. If you can, pass. We should have.

Omg. The dim sum was absolutely gross. The crab and shrimp were definitely NOT fresh and I could smell it before I took a bite. The wait staff barely helped us. This qas our first time dining inside since the pandemic began. The food was delicious and the portions were dinner sized. I had Chicken Pad Thai and ended up boxing up more than half to take home. They socially distance. They have customers write down their contact info prior to being seated to help with contact tracing in the event there is an outbreak. They provide a small piece of paper with instructions on face mask etiquette while dining inside. The staff were polite, the service was great! We will definitely be back!

Note-Very busy during the holiday shopping season due to their poiximity to the Gilroy outlets.April 15, Ran in for take out. It was ready by the time we finished up at Home Depot and drove across the street. We took it home and didnt eat it right away so popped the potstickers in the air fryer to warm them up. Set at 350 and they were ready to go in 5 minutes. The Chinese Chicken salad needed nothing and the Kung Pao Chicken a bit of time in the microwave. Everything tasted fresh and delicious!

I decided to take a break from shopping at the Gilroy outlets and check this place out for lunch one day. I wasnt sure what to think of this place at first since it was nearly empty at lunch time. Once I ordered, I wasnt disappointed. The staff was courteous, friendly, and attentive. The lunch special I ordered took about 20 minutes to get to my table. This is my go to place for good chinese food (as opposed to fast food chinese). Amazing vegetarian options. I always go for the veggie fried rice (my go to at any chinese place) and also get the spicy mandarin tofu. This is the first place I feel like does the tofu well in this sort of dish. I missed very few meats when I went vegetarian, but lemon and orange chicken were definitely up there, so this was a huge find for me. It isnt crispy, but has good flavor and a good amount of heat (I eat around the peppers, but eating them adds a ton of heat for those that want it). I honestly havent tried the other vegetarian meals, but the mandarin tofu is so good I cant imagine any of the others topping it. I only have three restaurants Ill go out of my way to get food from and this is one of them.

I will give it a 3.5 star. Service was average. Food tastes ok. Its clean and neat. If I have to go in details heres what I found.. They wont offer or promote any offers or specials unless you ask for it. I had the half chicken meal.. The broccoli were cut so big you would have to take few bites to finish it. Didnt offer soup unless you asked for it..I have had better chicken at the places with less stars. But overall experience was ok. Neither awesome nor disappointing. Would I go here again? I would have to think about it.

Now, while writing reviews, I cracked that all the Asian restaurants I visited in Bay Area suggested by colleagues. After shopping or shop-shopping for the entire day, I would recommend this place as a hard eatery. Their duck and chicken preparations are really good. Suggestion is to try different flavors of rice, instead of noodles. I was told momo is good here [which itself was enough for me to drag anywhere], and I liked their crab cakes too.

Great service, great food. Had a work lunch here, ordered Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice, not disappointed! My co-worker ordered orange chicken, she didn’t like it. I tried her orange chicken and I thought it tasted too much like the starch coating, plus it had a flavor that seemed as if they used recycled oil to fry it in. First time at this restaurant. Chose takeout. Its a big portion restaurant. So your expensive meal is suppose to feed 3-4 people. Not the case. And this big portion meal that you would think was sprinkled with gold cause of the price didnt even look like a pricey meal to enjoy. Mango chicken did not look or taste appetizing. Unfortunately here the salad dressing can not be switched on a different salad. Meaning the salad dressing that is listed on the menu is the only one you can have for that salad. For example, the Chinese chicken salad has dressing and you can not have thedressing that comes on the chicken cucumber salad instead. I am really disappointed, they do not want to accommodate for a choice of a simple salad dressing. I was looking so forward to trying the Ginger Cafe but the customer service is lacking here. Letting the customers inquire different tastes and trying diffetent sauces. Will let the customer have a chance in finding something they really enjoy eating and want to come back for more. Because when it comes down to it a REAL GOOD CHINESE SALAD its all about the DRESSING they put on it.The dressing on it they use is not good. The sad thing about this if they gave you a choice to use the chicken cucumber sauce it would be 100x better. Customers service is the key to success no matter what type of food you serve.

Less than one star. This place used to be good. I got FOOD POISONING last night and the food was horrible anyway. The manager, BO, told me to bring the food back to him to give me a refund. Seriously? I told him I got sick and he wanted me to drive the disgusting food back to get a refund of $40. In Friday afternoon traffic..I even called to second location and asked to speak with the owner. Do not eat here. Horrible service and you might get sick too.

Everything is soaked in oil and the pork buns tatsed like they had been in the freezer a while. The fried rice was good, but that was about it. Please beware of the pricing on all the online menus as they are not reflective of the latest prices. Peking duck for half was listed as $21 or $22 is now $30 and they are not offering a whole duck any more. By the way, it is not Peking duck; it is more a dried and burnt BBQ duck. I got it as a pick-up order on Mothers Day as my wife loves ducks but this was a big disappointment.

When I die and go to Heaven, I will be eating their Candied Pecan Prawns forever. Rapid service, comfortable seating, fantastic food, lots of gluten free options, wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Portions are huge. Its not a place you come to eat alone, you have to share with someone or spend a lot of money and have a lot of leftovers. To be honest food is not the best here, its fine but I expected more from it. Avocado milkshake tasted like it was premade days in advance and just kept frozen until the order comes, so when you get it its still a huge frozen piece that they tried to blend.

Passing through Gilroy we stopped at Ginger Cafe for lunch. Jan ordered some steamed pork buns, AJ had Orange Chicken with fried rice, and I had Potato and Beef with fried rice. We had egg flour soup first then we were introduced to some of the best chinese cooking ever. The spices and the flavors were perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. This place has to be added to your bucket list. The Cafe was nicely decorated and the prices were reasonable.

It was our first time in this place. My wife was craving for dimsums while we were shopping in the outlets. The place has a nice ambiance with high ceiling and such. We were seated right away but we waited for 15mins for someone to approach us. She was going to the bar as we were seated on the corner of it. We got her attention and she asked if were ready to order. We ordered our food and then we asked their drinks options. She quickly got a drinks menu from another table and then she asked if we want to start with the food first. We agreed as we were starving and they were busy. We didnt want to wait for another long time for our food. 15 mins after we ordered our drinks, one of our apprtizers came in. They havent even served us waters yet. We were trying to get anyones attention and a small brunette server passed by us. We asked her for waters and small plate for condiments. She said ok but she never came back. After 10 more minutes, a guy brought our fried rice entree. We asked him for waters and he gave it to us right away. After we finished our fried rice, the rest of our appetizers and drink order was brought by a different lady. Everything was a hot mess. Nobody checked on us. The blonde lady only came back for our check. The food was ok but the service made the dining experience terrible. Our check was $65. It wasnt that expensive but our money was better off to Panda Express.

Service is prompt as well.The price is value for money given the large serving size (the fried rice dish alone can serve 4 typical Asians)If you are used to spicy, hot Asian food, you can definitely take this dish. I have been here before at 9pm and they usually take us. They get a one star for unprofessionalism and sheer laziness. If you close the dining area at 9pm and the kitchen closes at 930 it should be posted not left to a servers discrestion on how he feels that day.
