I’ve come here a few times, mostly for dinner, and it’s a great casual, quick spot. The outdoor patio is dog friendly. They have a few local beers on tap as well as a limited wine and cocktail list. They have a few vegetarian/vegan options, including the pho. The absolute best thing I’ve ordered was the Banh mi with grilled pork. The meat was outstanding, I’ll definitely be ordering again. Parking here is super easy - and it’s a quick stop after a stroll around the reservoir.

If you like crispy fries, I recommend to try taro fries. Its kinda rare thing. They have also vegan dip if asked. Its on spicy side. We tried also chicken wings, they were also a bit hot but good. The vegan pho was very nice!

The pork bahn mi sandwichhere was delicious. The baguette is very dense so its very filling. The shrimp chips that it came were better than the taro fries upgrade which were starchy instead of crispy. Theres a small indoor area and a few tables outside. It is located on a corner and there is a free parking lot that it shares with several other nearby businesses. Highly recommend if you love bahn mis like I do.

Superb service and I’d say a very good option when you’re looking for a low-key spot, good for groups, moderate prices, and good food. It’s hard to find all of those in one place nowadays. I ordered the clay pot yellow curry, which I think is more Thai? Regardless, the dish was awesome. A little spicy and great flavor. My friends ordered all for Bahn mi sandwiches, I don’t think they’re super authentic? at least that’s what someone else had said, but, everyone enjoyed them nonetheless. The pickled radish and quality of beef was great. A group of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Warm service the day I visited. Pho is priced just below $15 if I remember correctly, which isn’t bad for the area, and quality of the food. The portion was a bit on the smaller side, but fine for lunch. Definitely a place I would come back to a recommend for a no-fuss Vietnamese experience. I opted for the chicken this time, because I remember their beef pho broth being a little heavier on the star anise.

Finally tried them for takeout and it was lackluster at best. The mushroom skewers (see photo) is two mushroom caps, which werent cooked - basically a room temperature cap with some sauce. The crispy tofu was greasy - likely partly due to packaging, however, very much was falling apart and just tasted like oil. But the really confusing part was the cold broken dry white rice; it tasted like leftover rice that sat for hours and was maybe attempted to be reheated? Perhaps these items are better in person, but definitely avoid the takeout rice...

When we lived in Los Angeles 13 years ago, this was one of our favorite spots. Upon returning to visit family we made it a priority to stop by GG to enjoy our favorite dishes and drink; pork chops, beef pho, and basil lime elixir!! Our taste buds were not disappointed with their reunion. This time around we took it up a notch and finished off our meal with a slice of delicious black bottom banana cream pie!! Love this place!

Not super authentic but tastes good regardless. I ordered delivery and the beef in pho came raw. Good thing I was at home and could reheat the broth to cook the beef. Beware if you are ordering delivery to an office and such. Portion of the pho is very small as you can see in the picture. The fried rice was okay. Flavorful but VERY oily.

A pretty decent spot for some Asian/Vietnamese food. They have a good mix of classic dishes such as pho and rice platters. The service is friendly and they have lunch specials too.I ended up getting the Animal Fries which are a taro fries and a play on In-N-Out style of fries. Super crispy and playful. For my main, I got the Chicken Pho. It was not the best pho that I have had and the broth was subtle, but still good. Lastly, we got the Key Lime Bars. Super delicious, sweet and tangy!Overall, a nice low key place to get some food!

Why did you remove the Vietnamese Vegan Coffee? That’s the main reason I would come often to Gingergrass. It’s cool that you guys added the vegan ube coffee, but don’t remove one of your best drinks for a new one when you can just have both of them. Was very disappointed today to go for that drink, and you removed it from the menu 🥲

I love this place. I have been going here since the month they opened. One of the best noodle dishes in silverlake. The Pho and noodles bowls are just good. The star of their menu are the Wok Tossed noodles. Perfect noodle dish. Salmon is just as good.

Really great all around ! We preferred the pho, banh mi, crispy rolls, and crab/shrimp rolls. Everything was delicious. My only suggestion was to have offered a vegetarian pho with tofu instead of just veggies.

After writing specifically that there is serious peanut and soy allergy on my order, they still put peanuts in the rolls which had incredibly dangerous and life threatening consequences to my friend. When I called them to complain they told me that the rolls were pre-rolled which seems insane to me, and that it wasnt their problem because I ordered it through an app (even though it asks me to put down special instructions??). When I then starting to explain how sick my friend was as a result the waitress literally sighed and hung up on my half mid way through my sentence. Rudest staff I have ever experienced and unashamedly took zero responsibility for their wrong doing.

Ordered chicken pho and chicken crispy rolls. Also it was first Vietnamese restaurant I ordered dessert from. Very excited to try it.So while I really like my pho broth, they were out of chicken and sent me notification. Instead, they added raw beef. I didn’t quite like it and I would appreciate if they would call and ask if I want some extra veggies instead. I eat beef but not raw and normally don’t order beef pho. That’s why I give 4 stars.But other than that, broth is delicious and oh so flavorful. Veggies are fresh and crispy rolls are soo good! The best part was that they use paper containers for broth(I hate plastic containers).Even though I didn’t get my chicken as a protein option, I’ll still definitely order again. Hopefully they will have chicken or seafood as an alternative option.Also, it was pretty quick.Update: lime coconut tart was heavenly delicious. Not too sweet and texture was perfect! Will definitely order again.

I order from here frequently. Not because it reminds me of my mother’s home cooking, but because it’s close by and relatively “clean” tasting. Sometimes I wish it were more affordable but I understand rent prices are high.They always pack their food in quality packaging- which is a plus but it’s just hard to swallow the high prices when Pho Cafe is far cheaper and not too far away. It’s just the price you pay when there are only 2 Vietnamese spots in your neighborhood.

A friendly place to have a meal with good atmosphere. The staff are nice and owner puts great effort to please his customer base. I would suggest you give this place a try. If your preferances lean towards the familiar traditional Vietnamese food taste, you wont find that here. The food has its own unique taste. If you are into a new taste, for your Vietnamese food, then definitely give this place a try. It could be you NEW favorite place.

I had a friend who lived down the street from this restaurant. We asked her one day how it was and she responded that she didnt like it. She never gave a reason, but we believed her. Cut right years later, this restaurant is still here. We were driving by one day and thought hey, lets try it.We were both so sad that we missed out on this restaurant for eight years. They have great pho and great spring rolls. A wonderful beer and wine selection. The employees are all very nice and friendly.I also heard that they do half sizes on the pho dishes. I dont know if thats a secret that I shouldnt be telling. But every noodle place needs that. Sometimes I dont want a huge bowl.I am glad that we ventured in to gingergrass and we love eating here. You should try it!

Discovered this by place by accident. I had the noodle dumplings with pork and loved it. Wifey got the pork bahn mi and she raved about it. This is great fusion food. It is extremely tasty and worth the money. The basil drink I had was also delicious. Best part is, someone takes pride in what comes out of the kitchen. Wait staff eats what they serve so that speaks volumes to me. Friendly staff. Im going back to try the Crab Fest.

This has always been one of our local favorites since we moved to this area a year ago.However, our recent two take out orders totally soured otherwise a very pleasant experience with this restaurant. The food quality still good, but there is problem with its Cash register.During our previous order, the cash register did not enclose any utensils, I asked for it and sauces and thought she has included. When I was ready to eat, did not find any in the bag...Today, I placed another order for two lunch ( one porkchop, one chicken), I made sure there is utensil inside. There was none, I asked for it, the lady at the counter passed ( almost thrown)me two forks, I stared at her, she then passed me a pile of napkin paper...I regret buying this lunch today here. The portion for my chicken order is tiny, The pork chop order is good. It is almost 2/3 empty during the time I was there, so it was not a busy noon today. They really have no excuse showing this poor attitude. ( the cash register)I will not go to this one at least for a month to boycott!

I love the Bahn Mis here so much. They make it all worthwhile. I have to admit that sometimes I feel like Im paying too much for the type of food...I mean southeast Asian cuisine is more pleasant as street food - but, on the whole, I love this joint.
