This is a nice little mom and pop sushi stop for a quick meal. I agree with some of the other reviews - fish is fresh, rolls are good, large roll selection, no frill and no up-sells. The sashimi pieces were quite big! The rolls were a bit smaller than I’m used to, and the rice for the rolls was just a tad chewy. Otherwise, no complaints. But if you’re looking for a fancy sushi joint with a fancy menu, this place isn’t it.

Best sushi in Oakland. Hands down. Order the Salmon or Hamachi belly nigiri, you wont regret it. All the first is so fresh and melts in your mouth. Rolls are delicious and theres a great variety, not like so many sushi places that just have a bunch of California rolls with different toppings. Chefs and servers are friendly and welcoming. Ive even gotten takeout and its always packaged very nicely and has huge portions! Love Ginza so much.

Their sushi rolls were delicious. The fish and ingredients were fresh. Good service, good food, good prices. I also like that they have a huge selection on their menu - something for everyone to enjoy.

Fresh ingredients, dish presentation could be improved, a bit drab. Adding rice with the sashimi would be a nice touch. Service is acceptable but missing the friendly flick. Restaurant atmosphere is a bit dull, colorless. Lets bring some life into the restaurant. Japan has a rich culinary culture.

One of my favorite places to grab Sushi. The Sushi is great, fast service, really great location and affordable. Street parking and a great place to eat then walk around Jack London.

Service was excellent - sweet, courteous, and efficient. Also the karaage was -extremely- well executed.But the sushi was not great, and thats what this place specializes in. There were multiple bones in my salmon, which is not supposed to happen. And the fish had more of an old / ammonia overtone than I am comfortable with. I expected better given the ratings and an area know for high quality Japanese food.

Fantastic. They had given us the best service and tasty food since our first time over 20 years ago.Even when they had changed ownership and updated menus. They quality and taste was just as good. The sushi is fresh. I always pick a bento box with tempura as one of the items.Well done Ginza

I wish I had gotten there with time to enjoy the food, but we had to get to the movies. Nevertheless, the soft shell crab was hot and crispy, my childs bento looked delicious and my bad boy roll so yummy. Service was pleasant and understanding of my bad time management 😊

Ordered the Sausalito and Wimbledon roll for lunch. Service was just starting so my food came out promptly. The rolls were bright and tasty. Fish was good and quality was above average. After polishing off the two rolls I had to get another. Got a Bad Boy roll and it delivered. Spicy and crunchy!Great service, great food! Will be back again for another try at some yummy rolls.

Is this the best Japanese food that youve ever had? No.Is it a reliable neighborhood spot that has sizable, decent rolls when you feel like sushi but dont want to walk another 10 blocks or wait for the B bus? Yes.Seems like lunch specials are a pretty good deal here too, but not usually around for that. Its not too hard to get seats, the service is good enough but doesnt pressure you with an upsell, and you can get the standard roll or two youre craving for a reasonable price--Ill take it. When we feel like getting sushi and not walking or driving far, well probably drop by Ginza for a quick meal and be glad we did.

Well, actually pretty good! And super fast! Place wasn’t packed but they managed to serve us in few minutes. Highly recommended if you’re around Oakland and crave some cheap sushi.

I liked this place and would go back. Alas, Ive yet to find an East Bay sushi place that can compete with what you get at Ebisu, Warakbune, Eiji, or many of the other sushi places in the City. So I would not go out of my way to eat here. I also noted that like many East Bay and Sacramento sushi places Ginza relies on a lot of fried rolls...you can certainly get away from those here but Ive taken to use the number of fried rolls on offer as a barometer of overall quality...more fried = less likely to be truly superlative.

It was ok. Ok price for sushi rolls and decent flavor, not the freshest Ive ever had. Street parking can be a struggle to find, search around a few blocks. There is a to go ordering availability- just place your order at the cashier towards the back of the restaurant.

Tierd of gas station sushi? Looking for okay sushi that has tempura thats so old you could of sworn there was foam in your sushi? Look no further they will treat you... meh as long as you pay . Well Im sure its not always going to be disappointing. Good luck

Its not too pricey and its a great place I LOVE IT the go go sushi was amazing and so was the Miso Soup our waitress though wasnt the happiest and she didnt seem to know what was going on but all in all it was a pretty great place to eat! I definitely would come back. 😊💕

The only reason Im only giving 4 stars is because today it didnt seem as fresh and wonderful as yesterday. However, yesterday I had the As roll(phenomenal) and today I had the caterpillar roll(meh). The service was prompt and the service was very polite. I would still go back and try something new.

Was a regular customer - not to say valued. Ordered the same thing as always; got overcooked salmon that looked as second hand as a replacement IPhone - past prime salad - and tempura so fried it sliced my mouth up. Tried to communicate, as if an accident, got No, its good. So, mimicked spitting on the floor, and left.

Working nearby, this place has become one of our regular lunch stops. Can get a bit redundant if visited too often in a week, but all in all, I never tire of the Bulgogi Don, or Bento Box.The food is good, the prices are decent and you can find a seat at lunch.

I probably eat here too much. Ive had probably 40% of the menu but Im down to a set of my favorites. I always have a good meal and prompt service and they remember me. Some favs: Lion King, Poke Salad, any rolls, Beef Gyoza, Chicken Teriyaki dinner is a staple for me.

The service here is slow and disorganized. My table was not offered water and there were no place settings. We had called in a reservation. We asked for water several times and it never came, neither did most of our food. The server kept bringing items we did not order and then disappeared before we could order for our table. Overall a very disappointing and terrible experience.
