My mother and I decided to check out this restaurant since weve passed it quite a lot of times. After going to Costco for gas. We entered and saw the restaurant was very full so we decided we would get our food to go. I cant remember the name of the woman who assisted us but she was extremely helpful. Literally from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, she was able to answer every question my mother had to offer, and my mother asked quite a lot of questions. The way it starts is you get a bowl over by the meat area. You must put on gloves which I absolutely loved as it keeps everything very hygienic, or at least its hygienic as humanly possible. Another woman who worked at the restaurant suggested that I add the oils to the meat as it would push it down a little bit so that I can add a bunch of vegetables as well, and I did. It was a really great tip! After getting all of your meats and vegetables and the oils, you wait over at the farthest right side of the restaurant for the two chefs to cook your meal. It literally takes less than 5 minutes. Over in. This area is also the bathroom but everything was very clean so it didnt really seem like a problem. Theres also a giant bucket for you to put your used gloves into. From there you go to check out your order. My mother and I also got shrimp, which is about $5 extra as well as some BAO buns. I dont remember how much the buns cost . Your bull comes with one free dumpling, a small thing of rice, and a soda.Please remember to tip everyone! Theres a tip container over by the chefs area as well as the tip you give at the register. All together our meal came out to about $45.The food was absolutely delicious, though I recognize that because my mother and I did not put a lot of oils on, it wasnt as seasoned as I would have liked. All in all though, I definitely will be returning to this location!

**take out** the portions are good but the flavor is lacking. 1 bowl was there house sace the bbq sauce(bland) 2 bowl teriyaki sauce(bland) 3 bowl was a combination of sweet and sour.I dont think it was a good combination of flavor. Overall it was ok, idk if it was because it was take out. Maybe if we had gone in person it might have been different 🤷‍♀️. But Im willing to give them another try.

I must say this food was great! When you sit at the table there is a small bowl of soup and a potsticker waiting for you to go along with your Mongolian bowl. What a nice touch! The restaurant as a whole was clean, but they should check the bar every 10 mins to make sure it stays clean. I get that its Mongolian, so customers reach for things to put in their bowls and seemingly spill things on the way to the bowl, but just for that reason, the staff should do a constant check. Also their was only one person serving drinks for the whole restaurant. However, she was pleasant, so it was a positive atmosphere.

Food surfaces were dirty and the vegetables were old. Wilted spinach and cilantro, bean sprouts had black ends. The sauces didnt have any flavor. The waitress didnt bring all the appetizers, we had to ask for them. Cold pot stickers. Very disappointed.

Indoor dining is now open! The mongolian bbq is delicious. They have the all you can eat mongolian for about 14 dollars per person. You can get a bowl more than once, get popstickers, rice and soup. They offer a variety of vegetables and meats. I really liked this place and will come back!Covid safety practices:Face covering.You have to wear gloves when putting together your monglian bowl.

Straight from the get-go the woman who greets you is enthusiastic, cheerful, super friendly and helpful. She asks you whether you are dining in or for to-go. When you tell her dining in, she tells you to grab gloves and start grabbing your food while she sets you up with a table. I LOVE that you have to wear gloves at the AYCE restaurant because people using their bare hands to use serving utensils completely grosses me out! The variety of meat, veggies and sauces are great. The two guys who are cooking are cool as well. The lady who greeted us is also the one who brings your the appetizers, drinks, etc. Shes efficient and remembered what I was drinking even with all of the customers in here. Will definitely be coming back!

Charged me for 4 sodas instead of 3. Wouldnt give us the veggie egg rolls that came with our meal unless no one at our table had meat in their meal (everyone at our table is vegetarian) which was weird. A tad pricey but if you know what youre doing you get a large portion of BBQ.

Service was okay, sanitation was okay and the food was amazing. BUT when I visited Saturday evening, 7/2, I received food poisoning the day after (Sunday morning 7/3). In my bowl, I put lots of beef, little noodles, and extra veggies. Not sure if this had to do with it, but the person cooking my food was a lot younger and looked like he didnt cook my food long enough. I didnt complain because it tasted fine, but started to feel sick the morning after starting w/ cramping/vomiting, fever, etc. Wasnt Covid because I tested negative.Hope this place is staying clean because it seems like the opposite. Used to be my go to lazy dinner spot, but now officially my last and final time. Thanks for the food poisoning >:(

Fresh, all you can eat, personal choice of ingredients, and cooked infront of you. Staff is extremely friendly and prices are reasonable. Not the most modern decor, but basically functional and relatively clean for its age. Its a local favorite and Ive enjoyed every meal for more years than I can remember.

The Food was delicious ate everything!!Now the Customer service is another storyDid not feel welcomed at all I guess dinning closes at 8:30pm which they should post somewhere so I went at 8:10pm there were a bunch of people still eating at there tables and the lady with the blonde hair told me we are closing soon. I asked her what time do they close she said 9pm but dinning closes at 8:30pm she handed me a plate and told me I would have to take it To go. So, I grabbed my food and as I walked back towards the cashier both and passed all the people that were still eating at their tables and more people grabbing more food at the buffet line I couldn’t help but feel awkward and embarrassed for being there

Love that I can chose what I want and take it home. Very busy place and the noodles and vegetables are great. Has all that I wanted and the sauces I cant decide which one I want there are so many. Service is awesome. They keep it clean too. Some people waste the food and really shouldnt do that. If it doesnt fit in the bowl you cant make it fit thats why there is a mess all over the counter.

Weve been to this place quite a few times and we do like it however this last time wasnt a great experience. It was right during the dinner rush and even though we were expecting a big line and happy to wait, it was moving exceptionally slow. We just assumed there were some people who hadnt been there before and were taking a little extra time.As it turned out, when we got close enough to see the cooks it turns out that they were both making food and putting it in this huge Tupperware container. We briefly thought that they had burned something until we saw that they filled it and handed it to some kids who appeared to be relatives. This container was big enough to hold about 8 of their serving bowls. I actually think its awesome for restaurants to let their staff eat for free. I think they deserve that, they work their butts off. But holding up the dinner rush while both cooks filled this seemed like incredibly bad timing when your paying customers are waiting.Its possible that our read of the situation was totally wrong but judging by the faces of everyone else waiting, I dont think we were the only ones with that impression.

Okay, so once upon a time I loved this place. However, today I am not sure if I will ever go back. I have never been talked to by someone so rude. I was made to feel like I was interrupting his conversation. As I was making my bowl I went towards the fridge and asked if I could get some tomatoes and corn. The guy looked at me and said that it would cost extra. I told him I had never been charged extra before. He said that is because it is for dinner and it is lunch time now. I turned to my husband and he said to get it. I turned back around and said okay, I will pay extra. He ignored me. When another man came from the kitchen area, I asked him if I could get some tomatoes and corn. The first guy looked at me and said that will be an extra charge. I, after being ignored, raised my voice louder so he could hear me this time. I Also, hit my hands and said, I said I would pay the extra. He heard me that time because he stated that I didnt have to yell at him like that. He is right I didnt have to yell at him like that. However, he could have helped me out the first time I asked. He never even moved. I felt like he only told me that it was extra because he didnt want to bring it out to me in the first place. The sad part is, my husband and I really like this place. I never yell at servers. The young lady in the front was so helpful and sweet. I feel bad that she has to work with someone who is so rude. I have made review videos about this place. I admit I should not have had the reaction I had, but it came from his actions on how he was talking to me and ignoring me.

Hands down a must. This place cannot go wrong. They give you so much food and for an extremely affordable price. Not to mention ALL of the food is locally sourced from real farmers. You will get whole wheat noodles a huge variety of meats, veggies, and sauces to choose from and even Rice and Soup on the side.

The place is a serve yourself and wait in line kind of buffet. As you enter you are asked how many are in your party then told you can get started. All of the food is uncooked in a line that begins with frozen meat chips (turkey, pork, beef, chicken) then some big fluffy noodles followed by several veggies, then finally a line of different sauces and oils to flavor and cook your meal in (use these sauces very generously). Grab a bowl, stuff it with whatever you want, set it on the counter at the end and one of the cooks will whip it up on the giant round cook top then whirl it off into a new clean bowl. When you go back to find your seat you will find that the waitresses have placed a bowl of Asian soup, a small bowl of rice, a plate of fried won ton strips with some sweet and sour type sauce on them, and a couple of sesame treats. They will return and ask what beverage youd like. The food is what you make it, and I think its awesome. I would give 5 stars for the food. But the guy that was cleaning the service line would continually ask everyone to move so he could clean off the counter where everyone was over filling their bowls and dropping things. Kind of wish he would wait for a better opportunity while the line was empty to do that. That part felt rude. But I will definitely go back as this was not my first time. I love this place

Food is always good here, but service.... not so much. They were out of cilantro, which makes my bowl taste so good. The servers were a little busy when we got there, but there is still no excuse for our experience. When we walked in she said she would get us a table and we could start making our food. After we get our food we had to ask where we are supposed to sit while holding our hot bowls of food. Getting drinks took forever, and we didn’t get offered a drink refill until we were about ready to pay and leave. I love love love this food, but I recommend going to the Stockton one instead.

Updated review-----My husband and I have been coming here for years and we have always enjoyed it, but knew it wasnt the most clean establishment (chairs dirty with grime and bathroom was always disgusting). At any rate, we would periodically come here for the food as my husband is a diehard Mongolian BBQ lover and this is the only restaurant near us.Today (10/06/21), my husband and I visited GK. As we were eating a cockroach crawled across the floor near the meat section. My husband and I completely freaked out and immediately left.We wont be back until this place gets their stuff together.Old Review----Food is usually fresh and steadily stocked. GK is almost always full of people. Staff is kind and courteous. My only complaint is that the restaurant is dirty. The chairs are covered in grime, the sauce area is constantly covered with spilled liquids and the floors always look dirty because its cement. The chairs however are my biggest problem. The chair rails and seat backs literally have layer upon layer of grime. Its disgusting. Other than those fixable issues, we like GK.

Awesome place. Clean building on the outside. Greeted on entry, clean inside(including restroom) this place had all the fresh meats and vegetables organized .. simple process packed my bowl add plenty of sauce and they cook the food right in front of you. Taste great! If you come earlier on in the day you get an egg roll with your meal.. youll always get soup and rice. Come on down !

It wasnt the 1st time I went there hoping for good service. I explained my allergy and what they had to do. Twice now, I sat there with my family watching them eat while hunger ravished my body. Not to mention how it bothered my family. They refused to follow simple directions to wash the sticks as well as the stove. The manager, well... who knows... they didnt handle it before. I went in with my family and I was looking for a place to sit with my 2 year old and there were 6 table that no one was sitting at but they were all dirty. I had to ask the employees where I should sit and thats when they said they would clear a table. The food is delicious but lately the service has been very poor. This is not the first time theyre sevice was this bad . My boyfriend went one time with our 5 year old, they both ate their whole meal and not once did any of the servers offer to get him a beverage.

Have been coming here for almost 2yrs and I always tell them to keep the egg roll and soup and bring me an extra rice, which has been no problem in the past. Although this isn’t the first time I’ve had a problem with the same waitress. She said she’d have to charge me for rice, even though I don’t want the soup and egg roll which cost a lot more than a 5 cent cup of rice. My family loves going to GK. The all-you-can-eat is wasted on me but my son and husband definitely get our moneys worth. I love that you customize the bowls to your liking with a variety of different meat option and a good variety of fresh veggies. We usually get shrimp but at $2 extra it can add up quickly. The staff is friendly. And they also offer a to-go option, of course no where near the amount of food offered as when you dine in.

N the Tracy location I found the beef with discoloration and some pieces of meat completely brown and spoiled.I asked for the manager and he said the meat was fine and asked me what was my problem. I told him the meats gone bad and he just started calling me bad words. He told me if I didnt like it to leave. The Cook came out and pushed me from behind.The manager kicked me out and i had to leave. This place is nasty and the manager has no respect and does not know proper food etiquette.

The food was good but I left hungry and unsatisfied. The hostess/waitress in the dining area only acknowledged me long enough to tell me that I could start with my bowl and asked for my drink order. After that, I became nonexistent to her. I never got a refill, never got any of the additional items that are supposed come with the dinner other than rice and soup. She almost tried to avoid eye contact with me and seemingly did the same to other customers. I would have had a second bowl, but I decided Id rather go home hungry than have to deal with the poor service any longer. I may come back and try again at some point, but I dont see that happening for a long time.

I used to love this place and this was my go-to restaurant for Mongolian Barbeque. Unfortunately, the last couple times my family and I have been, the the food selection has not been well stocked, one of the cooks got into a ego/screaming match with a customer, and the counter where all the sauces are placed was drenched and dirty. Also, as I was sitting in my chair and scooted forward, my hands became sticky. The wooden rails of the chair had not been cleaned in quite some time. Overall I am becoming more and more disappointed with this place. I hope it can get turned around and cleaned up soon.

I told him the customer is always right he said in broken English, not here ! and then refuse to service me if your black watch out. The food here is pretty good and supper is even better because its all you can eat for the price you pay at lunch! I like being able to select what you want to add in your bowl and watching the cook throw your food all over the hot wheel shaped cooking top they have! I must say to add more of what you want because when the guy gets through tossing your order all over the place, youll be lucky if you get some of what you put in the bowl. But with supper, who cares, just go back up for more!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a few things annoyed me during my visit. First, I had arrived well after 11:00 am, their adverised opening time, and the chairs were still inverted on the tables. Second, when I did approach the tables with my food many of the items that accompany my meal werent there - no egg roll, soup, rice, and chopsticks. Third, when I asked for an additional napkin, the waitress - who was just on the other side of a parition doing preparations said, Sure, Ill get you one in a minute. When I had to remind her later, she went back to where she was standing when I had asked her originally - within an arms distance away - and picked up a napkin that was there all-along, handing it to me. Fourth, when I asked for the red sauce that normally comes with the egg-roll, the waitress responded, It normally doesnt come with it, but Ill check to see if we have some. I found that strange, since I always have seen that at other places. Lastly, and this is personal, but I would rather not have to see someone walking around with his or her pants falling behind their backside enough to show the top of their undies - especially my server. The selection of ingredients is average, certainly not premium as some others Ive been to. The food is fresh, aside from the thin sliced frozen meat, which is standard at most Mongolian BBQs. Sauce selection and combination suggestions are likewise average while adequate. Good value at $10.50 for AYCE dinner while lunch is a single shot deal. Service is friendly and helpful but they always seem short handed and is a management issue IMHO.The reason for deducting 1 star is this might be the messiest Mongolian Ive been to, with a near constant trail of vegetables, noodles and sauces scattered around the counters and floors in the food areas. Now it is not uncommon in this style of restaurant where you allow patrons to pile as much loose ingredients in a small bowl to have many spills, but its either the locals are particularly messy or more likely is the short staffing issue which hinders the staff cleaning more regularly. It doesnt so much bother me, but if you are kinda new to this concept then the vegetables all commingled and occasional noodles dropped in the sauce tubs might put you off.

The only place in Tracy for this regional Gem. First choose your meat, then get those hands dirty and smash it flat. Skipping the noodles add whatever other toppings you want.You guessed it now two big handfuls of noodles smashed and overflowing. Lastly drown it all in oil and hot sauce.Once you hand this whole mess to the chef you can suck to the bathroom to wash your greasy hands.

My wife and I usually eat at the other Gk in Modesto so we decided to stop by coming from the bay area in tracy to eat at the Gk but not as good as the Modesto branch..the cook was rude to my wife and the place is small so IGave them 2 stars for how they treat their guest...I would not suggest eat at the tracy GK but if you want top rated service and good Mongolian food try the Modesto branch on oakdale rd.

BEST. MONGOLIAN BBQ. EVER! Yes, you cant expect the cooks to treat you extra special because of food allergies. If they did that to every person that has them, the prices would SKYROCKET.Also, why would you expect 5-star service at a place where you build your own meal/bowl? At least they offer their customers with small bowls of soup and rice and an egg roll. Other Mongolian BBQ places Ive been to either charge extra for that or they dont offer it.I love that you can get unlimited trips for $2 extra during their lunch hours. If I could be a silent partner with the owners, I would propose they expand towards the Bay Area and even nationwide. Its worth the trip coming from the Tri-Valley Area for all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ at $10/person without soda/beer.

My favorite Mongolian BBQ place in the entire extended SF Bay area. Price of dinner is just slightly more than lunch, partly because shrimp is an add-on. Other places add shrimp to the dinner line-up, but they tend to ration it by only occasionally putting out a small amount, so I always pay for it but seldom get it. I prefer the GK Mongolian method where I pay a small addition for shrimp during lunch or dinner.
