This place has great music, food, and drinks. The goulash was yum. The meatball sub was also surprisingly great... I know. What are you doing trying meatball subs in a german deli? I love the red cabbage here too. Its not too over powering. I am a huge fan.

Well, it’s 2023 and the number one combo at In-N-Out is $10. It’s so hard in Orange County to find a place that’s family owned, where people actually take the time to make the original recipes by hand, and stand by the quality of their work. Not only that, sourcing the right ingredients, listen, this place is not the Ritz. That is not why we go there. This is the place we go when we want a family atmosphere and amazing food for a fair price. Plenty of imports that are unique. And everything just feels hand selected. So glad I found this place

Absolutely THE GREATEST sandwich shop around - I have been going to this shop religiously for over 30 years!!! Never have I ever had a bad sandwich… There was a short period of time when a new owner came in and tried to get cute and save a little money by cutting back on the meat portions on the sandwiches.That was short lived, he killed the loyal customer base and ended up with an empty store at lunchtime.The new owner came in and restored everything back to original, and the place has been thriving ever since!!!The very Best meats are used and the Hot House Specials are Spectacular!!!Shhhhh only tell special people, we don’t want it to get more crowded then it already is!!!Jeff Reuter

Best Ruben ever, if you think otherwise you just havent had it yet, did wanna say it did change owners but!!!! By no means has this placed changed for the worse in fact I think it changed for the better with more consistent hours so Im never guessing when I can get a Ruben again!

This place is such a find! The sandwiches are so next level its unbelievable, the beer selection is awesome, and the staff are just, the best. I literally cant say enough nice things. Im sure I could say more nice things about the actual deli selection, but then I might have to share, so Ill just keep that part to myself, lol.

Top notch, world class German deli. The people here are super kind, and a lot of regulars came through while I was there. The sandwich was good and at a reasonable price. I could only eat less then half before I was full, which is a good thing in my book. The meat is good and has good portions. The bread is good, and the pickles are good. I also liked the potato salad. Id come again next time Im in town.

Great tasting sandwich on the left is a special pastrami recommended by the owner: melted cheese, special dressing, sauerkraut, heated pastrami, amazing. Look at that ham sandwich my Dad got! Its 2 meals in one! Will be back!

Love this place. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The sausages and sandwiches are top quality. Seriously addicted to the club, the Reuben, and the beef dip. The sandwiches cost a bit, but the portions are large and the sandwich components are all great (really good bread, really good meat, and tasty trimmings).This place has really committed regulars, and theres a reason for that.

They really have a great selection. They can order special requests. They treat you very special. You can dine in and have food cooked for you. They even made my sister something they dont carry. The food tasted great. The quality of the food was amazing.They have a good selection of sausages, breads by special order and they have a nice selection of beer from Germany.One of the owners, Buffy, often creates her own amazing sides, dishes, condiments. The two that Ive tried were extremely tasteful and unique.Everytime I try something new Im compelled to update this review because of a worthwhile experience. The split pea soup... My review: buy it. Enough said. If not, your loss. I never even liked split pea soup.

Wow!! I saw Globe Deli listed on Reddit as one of the best places to eat in Costa Mesa, and it did not disappoint! I got a Bologna sandwich and loved it. All the ingredients were super fresh and delicious. The owner was wicked friendly and I cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Globe Deli is outstanding - had a schnitzel sandwich with german potato salad with bacon (warmed). Reminded me of Munchen :) Portions huge and staff friendly. Just wish they were open on the weekend so I could enjoy a beer with my lunch. Will return for sure.

I normally wouldnt review a place after just one visit, but lunch left such a good impression, it deserves kudos. An employee revealed its been around for 50+ years and that the owner had been a regular since childhood before purchasing it a few years back. Three childhood friends now run the place, which is a sweet touch, but its not just that, it shows in the pride clearly taken from the meat case to pantry items and more. The service is old-school, glassware chilled, meats slow roasted. Everything is made to order and besides being a deli there are entrees like schnitzel and snazzy sides like a dill packed potato salad and of course, warm German style potato salad as well. This is a German deli, so dont expect Italian style subs, although the meatballs look divine and also come as an appetizer. I wish I had a bigger appetite! The beef dip is served with the most legit jus Ive ever had, the meat itself is flavorful as can be, tender with zero gristle, the bread is crusty and perfect. We were given a sample of the potato salads as first time visitors, which was unexpected and such a nice touch. The turkey Ruben was nothing short of delicious with juicy carved meat like youd eat at Grandmas. Polka music adds to the vibe, which isnt what youd expect in a strip mall on Harbor Blvd. Its a blast from the past in the best of ways. Well certainly be back to work our way through the menu. This is the kind of place you want to support, especially now, as it seems un-phased by Covid in an industry where you have no idea what to expect and often feel slighted by inflation, attitudes, etc. I can see why the Google rating is so high, and I look forward to finding out more reasons than I just described!

Went there today for the advertised “Club Sanwich” on fb today was totally taken aback! Usually a pictured sandwich it bigger than the real thing. Today I was totally mealed out for the day! This is probably the best place to eat in Costa Mesa. As a local I go to many gems that doesnt get a lot of social media coverage this is my new favorite gem in Costa Mesa. Jason & Buffy are super friendly and give recommendations on what to pair German beers with different sandwiches. Their soups! OMG they are made from scratch and sell out quickly. Cold weather makes people want to have soup. Their split pea is so hearty. Big chunks of ham and just the right amount of spices will make your heart sing with pleasure. Their German Chicken noodle is made with fennel, cabbage and (2) different kinds of noodles. Their small grocery area is perfect to pick up a few items while waiting for your food. Plus their meat, sausage, and cheeses are displayed in the deli case and will cut slices thick or thin are your request. The make their own German breads, without preservatives so you either have to eat it quickly or freeze it for future enjoyment. Quickly you will get to know everyone both staff & customers on first name basis even after coming only a few times.

Every week we have a bratwurst sandwich with an amazing homemade potato or macaroni salad, fresh baked bread...Tonight for a dinner party, we ordered appetizer Liverwurst /butter/bread, German Goulash on noodles and apple Strudel for dessert. This wonderful place has a good selection of german imported beers to choose from and they also got some on TAP! Plus they also make home made salads and desserts to take home and other goodies. The prices on their online menu are $3-4 less than when you come by and pick it up. My pastrami was supposed to be $6.50 and I paid $10.50. I get it that things are different now, but ripping people off? And to top it off, I got my sandwich home and I was about to take a bite and realized that it wasnt what I ordered! Very disappointed!!

Used to come here regularly when it was owned by the family. They would set the machines to cut the meats at various thicknesses depending on the type of sandwich you ordered, they would also nicely place the cheese in the sandwich (sometimes thin slices and layered amongst the meat), used fresh ingredients and best of all, proper protein portions. Great products, but being a deli your sliced meat should be done actually as you want it. Ive never had a problem like this before over 40 years, but today my sliced beef requested to be able to roll up, was a mess. Had to untangle every slice. Lazy! And it wasnt busy at 11am.
