The food was phenomenal! We were looking for some late night bites and this was definitely the move. We had some very rich Ramen along with tasty sushi. Even the appetizer of gyoza, chicken kaarage, spicy crispy rice tuna we had was extremely tasty. Highly recommend coming back

It was so yummy!!!I’m Japanese so I know Japanese taste. This is a very good place to eat Sushi and Yakitori. The Sushi and Yakitori were the best in California for me. It was very high quality food!!!The staff was very kind and helpful when ordering every time.Of course I’ll be back there soon!!!Thank you guys!

It’s crazy how good this restaurant is. I don’t usually write review, but this is definitely one of the best Japanese BBQ place I been. Price is fair, and the service is perfect. Yeah it’s really hard to find a restaurant like this in Irvine. Amazing experience and great food.

Oh man. Was in town for a Jiu-Jitsu tournament. Haven’t ate In 24hrs. Once I was able to walked across the street from my hotel. And this place did not disappoint. The food is so fresh, ramen noodles are perfectly cooked it was chewy and the broth is so yummy. The a5 wagyu /chicken liver/ gyoza was absolutely perfect. Def recommend and will be coming back

I ate here late tonight, and what a little gem in Santa Ana! You would not think that it was almost closing time - the staff were just so friendly and kind. I sat at the bar where I could hear banter within the kitchen and you could genuinely tell that this team was a fun crew. And as expected when staff morale seems high, the food follows suit. I had the Tonkatsu bowl at the top of the menu. Love the creamy soup base with the meat. So luscious, fragrant, and comforting. I had their creamy mango soda on the side as well. Super yum. The cute takeout garb was awesome too. Ambience A+. Would definitely recommend.

Cozy Japanese restaurant located in a business park. I ordered 6 different food and they all tasted good as expected, but the Yakitori and Hamachi roll stood out. The Yakitori was perfectly grilled and the roll had distinct flavor with the right amount of spice and complemented with their house wasabi.Just a comment on the grilled yellow tail in teriyaki … while it tasted good, the sauce can be overwhelming. My initial choices were not available because because the menu had been updated compared to what I saw online but I still enjoyed my meal and definitely recommend this place.

I know inflation is hurting businesses and many people, but I couldnt believe I would pay more for Truffle ramen and get 1 piece of tiny chatsu pork when I can get two tiny pieces with other ramens at a cheaper price.. just boggles my mind.. Even the pictures on the menu and on here showed two pieces. They didnt even try to accommodate my request.The food is good though. Just not worth the price though anymore.

Fantastic ramen! The broth was just how I like it, same with the noodles. They didn’t have green tea when I went, but they served it before. My new favorite ramen spot in the area :)

I had no clue what I was walking into. That said... Im so happy I walked in. The food was phenomenal, the chefs were amazing, the service was stellar, but the food.... the food was unbelievably delicious! Please dont be afraid of taking a chance and trying the special hearts! Ridiculously good!!! My compliments to the team! Thank you for making my last night in SO CAL incredible.

Was really looking forward to going here so close to my hotel. Website indicated $ 8.50 for 700ml Sapporo draft, definitely in my wheelhouse. No where near 700ml., more like 500ml and price on menu was 10.50. Complained obviously. Then had seafood Ramen, without the advertised mussels and fish cake and no taste, so disappointed. Then had lamb chops on barby, super salty. Gave feedback to very nice male waiter, but the 4.6 rating is not justified. Need to rethink what they are doing.

While Gokumi is open on Thursdays, be careful; the head chef isnt in so their entire sushi menu is unavailable. Dont make the same mistake I did.Lots of hype reviews got me interested, but maybe the quality was off today. The yakitori, while tasty, left an oily/salty feeling in my mouth. Similarly, the spicy tonkotsu ramen had flavor but also felt a bit fatty. My throat felt uncomfortably dry when I left the restaurant.The service was mediocre; servers didnt enunciate the yakitori dishes as they arrived so I was left guessing at what each skewer represented.Overall, a tasty restaurant but with some hiccups and areas to improve.

This place is amazing! The food came out super quick and tasted so good. The staff was polite and attentive. We sat at the bar and could watch the food be made in front of us. Definitely a cool little place to grab a bite, it was reasonably priced too.

We ordered 10 dishes ad shared. Very tasty overall, although 1 or 2 dishes were not what we liked. But maybe that is something that our tastebuds are not used to eating. A short description of what is each food on the menu could be handy for people unfamiliar with Asian food.

Newly opened Japanese restaurant and quickly become the top one in my heart! It is open late and thus a perfect place for after party. The food here is extremely fresh, delicious, and amazing. Most of the yakitori I’ve tried in CA is not authentic and just so so but this one changed my mind. Recommend: 10/10. Couldn’t help to visiting here again!

I attended the grand opening event of Gokumi and it was an incredible experience. The event featured 20 different sake tastings, with generous pours and an all-you-can-drink policy that left everyone feeling quite content. But that was just the beginning!The food selection was out of this world. There was all-you-can-eat yakitori, sushi, chicken kaarage, edamame, and so much more. The quality of the food was exceptional. Its hard to believe that such high-quality food could be offered in an all-you-can-eat style.The service was equally as impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always willing to answer any questions I had. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with DJs spinning music.I will definitely be back and cannot wait to see what else this amazing establishment has in store.

A little expensive for what it is. The yakitori is better than the ramen, which is better than the rolls. They have plenty of seating and high chairs for kids, but the menu isnt really for kids.

I got the Shoyu Ramen. The noodles here are great. My friend got the Spicy Tonkotsu. It was too spicy for him, so I ate his spicy chili oil tip layer.

Absolutely delicious food. I saw that this place was open after 11pm and went with little expectation. The ramen noodles are prepared perfectly. Chicken karage is super good. I try yakitori when I go to most Japanese restaurants and this place had probably the best yakitori for a ramen spot.Try it out! You won’t regret it, they prepare the food well!

Seated fairly quickly at end of bar. Drink and appetizer ordered then never saw waitress. After couple that sat next to me had ordered and completed meal I gave up. Completed my meal a few doors down. Too bad. They were recommended by my apartment complex next to it.

Ryo san is an amazing Yakitori chef. If you will go there, you should try “ Yakitori “.Their Sake menu is also amazing lists. There is one person who is a Sake specialist. He can guide your sake selections.Great service, great team.I highly recommend you this restaurant.

Here you will pay a very expensive price for a meal of grilled chicken, but if you go to the barbecue stall and spend the same money, the boss will let you eat chicken for a month. I don’t know how you have the courage to sell chicken skins and chicken at such an expensive price. Maybe it’s the deep-sea chicken from the Mariana Trench.
