Really good food!I hadnt been here in quite a few years.Their House Fried Rice is on point. The fried chicken wings are full of flavor. Plus, they only use flats 😋The atmosphere is pretty laid back as there havent been a lot of people when Ive gone. I also only get takeout.I tried the chow mein with pan-fried noodles, it wasnt my favorite. I was thinking this would be with the thicker noodles. Its not.I also tried the salt and pepper pork from the second menu. It was ok, but lacked a bit of flavor.All in all, this is a solid place for Chinese food.The portions are quite large for the rice 🍚 I had plenty left over, so I topped it with an egg the next day and added Abuelas Sweetheat Chili Crunch 😋@Friday_night_bites_209So good! 💜

Nice big pieces of orange chicken fried rice has an awesome taste you can tell the wok is nice and seasoned. Fried shrimp nice and big. I can eat in 2 bites. Sweet and sour sauce was perfect for dip for the egg roll and fried shrimp. Ask for house mustard sauce,Its delicious if you like that stuff. All in all a 9 out 10. 👍

Came here since China Caf was closed, saw the reviews were good but very disappointed. Ordered the sweet and sour pork plate and it wasn’t good at all. Soggy and the chow mein tasted awful. Even the fortune cookie was stale, not good at all for the price.

The food was excellent!! We went on Mothers Day and the older lady who was working wasnt very friendly. I think she wanted us to leave because she kept saying it would be an hour wait. It really didnt take an hour for us to get our food, more like 30 minutes. But I dont know maybe she was just overwhelmed because they had more customers than usual. I would go back because the food was good.

Food is good, but I ordered the won ton soup and the house fried rice and on the menu it said the soup was $13.50 and the rice was $10, but I was charged $45 dollars for a to go order. I had to change my review because there is no price transparency. The menu isnt right and it seems the price is just so arbitrary.

My “Go To “ restaurant for last minute bday dinners! Chowmein and combination fried rice are always a big hit at my home. Prices have gone up like all other restaurants.Sad to find out that the restaurant is temporarily closed due to lack of staffing 😞 hoping they open back up soon!

It was it was my first time today visiting and eating at the Golden Bowl Restaurant. As I entered, I had a good feeling I was in for a good experience. It was very clean, the waitress was professional and polite. The food was exceptional. I will be back!

My kids and I really liked the food. The service was very slow. We were the only table and waited a long time to get menus and drinks. The food came out fast...we might have waited longer to get drinks than food.🤷‍♀️

RUDE! I will never return. Looking at the other reviews, I expected good food. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 different combos and it was all bad. None of us liked it and we actually left and went to Panda Express to get food that was 100% better. Save your money

Warm, friendly, inviting and Grandma friendly. Honestly, thats important. The food was good and they have combo specials all day long. Old school Chinese restaurant decor reminds me of places when I was a kid. A little more pricey than some other places, but its my favorite Chinese place in town.

I like Golden Bowl Chinese food. We have recently moved to Merced from the Bay Area and where looking for a decent Chinese restaurant. My wife wanted something in Rite Aid and saw The Golden Bowl restaurant and decided to give them a try. To our surprise the food was good. We always try something different. Most of what we tried wasnt to bad. Needless to say Ill go back for some more good food. I bet you find something good too.

Extremely nice people and quick service, but the prices are a bit high and the food is so-so. In case they read their reviews, Ill add this, pot stickers arent filled enough, veggies are too soggy and in general, you dont picture an accomplished chef back there cooking. Im sorry, but right now, Id rather eat at one of the Thai restaurants or Panda Express 😕

Good food with friendly professional service. We found this Gem on the way from Sacramento to Fresno on the night of Dec 31 2017. Yes, they were open quite late & they accomodated 11 of us in a timely & professional manner. The chef himself came out to greet us & make sure the dishes are all ok. Definitely recommend this place! Great! Great! Service & Food!

This place definitely used to be great and thats the only reason Im giving it 2 stars. Now the food taste bland and of cheap quality, inside the place is unkempt and dirty. Roaches literally crawling across the floor. I dont know what happened, their shrimp fried rice used to be amazing but my last three times here have been massive disappointments.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant as it had such a high review. The restaurant setting itself was nice. However the food was a whole another matter. When you order house chop suey or house pan fried noodles you would think the vegetables could be seen if you like onions these dishes would be for you. The noodles were soggy and the pan fried noodles looked like fried potatoes you needed a knife to cut. The vegetable were invisible to the eye. The flavor didnt exist in either dishes. The offer combination plates and it states you can substitute one item when we asked about making a substitution for one item then your told you cant because the item you want is a full order. Then dont state this in your menus. You might want to rethink your menus and over more of a variety for your customers. By the time we were finished with our meal the restaurant was unbearable do to the heat and the air conditioning wasnt working properly. Its not a place that we would consider to return for a meal.

Five stars for the best BBQ pork in Merced to date (plus the fried rice and chow mein versions) and the sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. This results in shattering crust fried chicken pieces that are amazing. I usually get this to go. The dining room is expansive and comfortable but the music could use some help as it tends to be Musaky and makes one sleepy. Nice variety of table options from couple to group sizes. The location is handy but watch the hours as these have changed lately regarding lunch and afternoons.

Food was OK. But the owner and/or employees need to deliver better service. They are extremely RUDE. Our first visit was bad. But decided to give it a 2nd chance. We were in the shopping center and it was lunch time. As soon as we walked in the bad attitude began. We were the ONLY customers the whole time. We should’ve just got up and left, but I was more embarrassed to be rude AND I was the one paying! Will not be wasting my money again.
