Always very tasty. Good food. Waitress not very good we had to track her down for refill on drinks and we stacked and cleaned the plates. Thats usually the case when they include the tip in your bill. NOT COOL.

This is one of the worst places to eat. The prices are too high. It is not worth it. Dont be fooled by the ambience. When they can not cook the food you want it, go to burger King and have it your way 🤣.

I love that I can order with no sugar! Lunch plates are full. A complete meal includes a bowl of soup and appetizers. Staff are super sweet and during the holidays they are gifting beautiful calendars replicating scrolled water color paintings.

2023-0119 I’m giving credit where credit is due. My delivered Dinner C for two was awesome tonight! It was here in less then 20 minutes. The meat was so tender and the veggies had a perfect crunchiness. My potstickers were the biggest I’ve had. Truly a great meal!2019-1212 @ 4:40pm, I just ordered the Dinner C for two with added potstickers. I told the person on the phone that I didnt need the container of sweet and sour sauce or any of the other soy sauce, vinegar, etc. I didnt want to waste something I wont use. Then I asked for six little containers of chili paste and lots of fortune cookies. I was told it would be $1.00 extra for the chili paste and you only get 3 fortune cookies. I cant believe I would have to pay extra for the chili paste after I omitted all the other sauces? I know you can buy a box with 100s of fortune cookies for $10 or so? After being a good customer for over 20 years, I hope to hear from someone to explain this to me!

I have always loved Golden China I used to live in watsonville and I used to order for delivery from Golden China all the time how I wish there was one in Santa Cruz I have gone to places in Santa Cruz and try to match up the food and there is just no way so if and when I want Golden China Chinese food that is I will drive to watsonville, I love it that much, all of their food that I have had is delicious and I always order an extra order of pan-fried noodles they are the best you cant find any pan-fried noodles anywhere like Golden Chinas

Not good... use to love their shrimp fried rice. I paid $25 for 2 orders & was horrible. They changed cooks or went with cheaper brands. Its a shame they keep raising prices but quality not good anymore. Only decent Chinese food Im Watsonville left now its not. Now theres no good Chinese food left in Watsonville. I will miss that place... been going there for many years.

We had the family dinner #B the imperial soup was delicious 😋 and with all the appetizers fried prawns, my all time favorite crab Rangoon and of course egg rolls, omg everything is fresh and delicious. And all my years coming here Ive never had the dragons nest and Im so mad that I deprived myself of that yummyness that was absolutely mouth watering goodness. You cant go wrong with anything you order. Everything is awesome. Great service and family ran. Reasonable

Had a friend in from out of state who wanted Chinese food. After asking my watsonville friends on Facebook where to eat, we decided to go to Golden China in watsonville. We ordered for three people for a celebratory lunch. We all three threw our food away it was so bad. Poorly prepared, no taste and no condiments. Our visitor had paid for the lunch and wanted a refund as the food was terrible. He was told the manager would contact him within 30 minutes, which never happened. Beware of this place. Save your money too as they are extremely overpriced for an inedible meal

Honestly, this is one of my go to places to eat take-out when I come to visit my grandma, and the food is usually good if somewhat okay. But the dishes that I ordered today came out tasting like they were a day old. My biggest complaint would be the chicken with vegetables plate that I ordered. It tasted bland, but after an hour it smelled like fish gone bad. Even though, we were hungry, we couldnt bare to eat it. The highlight would be that at least the shrimp fried rice was tasty according to my mother and my grandma also liked it. We also liked the salt and pepper shrimp. Im going to rethink about coming back here just because out of the six plates of food we ordered only two came out tasty, three tasting somewhat okay, but not preferable, and one plate not at all edible. For the price that I paid, I expect my food to taste a whole lot better and not make me regret having ordered the food.

The service was decent and I really liked the option of having a private room. The issue was that all the entrees tasted like corn starch. I mean it was like it got sprinkled on right before the food came. I think they have a nice setup, the tea, friendly waitress but the food was atrocious and unless youre starving or have no taste buds, it is disappointing. Having said that the portions are enormous, but again its hard to get through a plate of corn starch, never mind taking it home and doing that to yourself all over again. All in all a nice family restaurant, just needs improvement when it comes to the cooking.

This place is always ready to serve and I have been going there for sometime now. The servers are nice, the food is fresh, but most importantly their hot and sour soup is great!!!!! I have NEVER been food poisoned or disappointed with their service or food. Its like this place takes customer service into a different level completely. Its pretty affordable during lunch hour and their bathrooms always clean.

I placed an order for delivery with Golden China and specifically asked for hot oil since its the only way I like their food. When I got my order I payed the guy and he left. I opened my order to find no hot oil or any hot sauce in my bag. I called back to explain the problem and the man on the phone said it would be 45 min until someone could deliver the hot oil. Since I had paid they didnt care anymore. I asked that the food be picked up and to receive a refund since my order was not as I asked. The person on the phone said I would have to take my order back to receive a refund although I had asked for delivery. If I had the chance to take it back I would have picked up the order in the first place. Will never be coming back to this restaurant poor quality service.

Surprisingly good! The Hunan Beef is unusual... is that chocolate in the sauce? But it is yummy. Excellent Chow Mein. Great veggie pot stickers... we liked everything. Lots of little touches nice too... fresh hot sauce and mustard and a warm sweet-and-sour sauce on the side... impressive! Everything tasted fresh and the creative recipes exceeded our expectations.

Normally I really like this place but ordered orange chicken and got the worst 9range chicken Ive ever had. It wasnt even breaded and when I called to complain I didnt get an oh well would you like something else? Nope they said thats just how they do it. Well maybe you should tell people rhat your orange chicken isnt really orange chicken. If Panda Express does a better job at orange chicken then youre clear doing something very very wrong.

I love Golden China! Its one of my top 3 restaurants. They have great Chinese food choices. Some quite spicy, which I love! It can be a romantic spot because they have these adorable private rooms with a booth inside and beaded curtains for privacy. The price point is good too, if you come before 4pm, you can choose from their under $10 lunch menu and they have so many choices! All in all, its a great place for yummy Chinese food!

I went to dinner here yesterday with family, and Im surprised by the low reviews here. The service was great, our food came out fast and it was really good! We had the szechuan scallops, general chicken, sweet and sour pork, and veggie chow mein. Unlike other chinese restaurants Ive eaten at, none of it tasted overly salty, and even after eating a whole ton I didnt feel bogged down after we got home. If were to trust some of the other reviewers it would seem like this place might be hit-and-miss, but the first time I went yesterday our whole group raved about how much they liked it! Im definitely going to go again (probably for the lunch special), and when I do Ill update this review.

Really excellent food, quick and efficient service, and really large portion sizes. I love the curry chicken lunch special with extra sauce but there are really so many great options. I usually go and eat half a serving and then box up the second half for lunch the next day. The soup is a little spicy, and is an excellent starter on a cool day. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high quality chinese food.Also: my friend has fibro and there are a lot of foods she cant eat, especially processed or over-sugared food, but nothing on the menu here (that she has tried so far) has given her any issues. Worth a try if you have digestive sensitivities.

Called and complained- first time in all these years and they basically said tough toenails. We asked to scrub our phone numbers an cc info (hope they did it). I have always gone to golden China it was always a go to restaurant for me. Yesterday I went with a couple of friends and we were all having a great time. The food shows up we start eating the service is great until of my friend’s finds a hair! He is disgusted and tells the waiter to take the plate he doesn’t want it because there is a hair on his chow mein. The waiter comes back furious and raises his voice saying “that is not hair that is a bean sprout” we were all confused like saying that is definatly a hair! He comes back drops our bill. At this point we are hardly done with our plate and my friend wasn’t offered another meal or anything. We were waiting to see if they would offer us a to go box but nothing so we ended up leaving everything there. We go up to pay and the manager starts telling my friend a bunch of rude things and he tells her he should of altleast been offered another plate. Moral of this is that if you find a hair in your food please take pictures cause they deny everything!!

My family and i have been coming here for as long as i can remember. I never knewhow RUDE the manager/owner could be. I tried to make an order through the phone and HE HUNG UP ON ME! Didnt try to explain other options and once i got to the place (because i actually ended up going in) he apparently did not understand what i was trying to order. Ordered Kung Pao chicken, it was decent. It wasnt overly oily which was nice, but the chicken to veggies ratio was off... not enough chicken, too many veggies (and Im saying this as someone that loves veggies and lives on an organic farm). My other issue was that it was actually a little under-flavored if you can believe it, and at $11.75 was a bit on the pricey side. It also was not spicy, even though it had some of those little red/black chiles in it. I eat the chiles typically, but these ones had NO flavor or spice. Weird.Overall: not bad, but I probably wont go back. I dont live in Watsonville (just work here) so I have the luxury of going somewhere else!

Overcooked, odd tasting food. Piles of vegetables and very little meat. Noodles so overcooked, they were gummy. The egg rolls tasted poor and the sweet and sour sauce that came with them was thick and gummy and tasted weird, like it came out of a jar. Even the tea was over brewed and bitter. It came to the table already made as if they had brewed it hours beforehand and it sat there getting stronger and stronger.

Simple and authentic Chinese restaurant. Nice reception. Preferably choose a table in the separate room, then you wont forget your peace and quiet. The food was good but the combination was a bit strange, maybe that was just me. Large portions and reasonable prices. Gladly again!
