Great spot for take out, great portions and price. I’ve been coming here for over ten years and I’ve tried other places near my house since I’ve moved and I’d rather take the drive to golden city to get Chinese. The meat, the veggies have so much flavor.

Been a patron here for 20+ years. Have never had a bad meal, and the owners are the nicest people! Not a fancy sit-down kind of place; just a simple,high quality, and delicious place to go. The Salted pork is a big win, great wor wonton soup, and be sure to try the pot stickers.

Always fresh, piping hot and delicious. They package very nicely so it stays hot for literally two hours. Tons of flavor, I love coming here. Make a stop on your commute home and you will be happy you did.

The Good: The amount of food served is great for the prices. I usually order House Fried Rice and Won Ton Soup. I have not been disappointed yet.The Bad: No indoor dining available. Parking is super limited due to location and next-door businesses.

Their food is always fresh and delicious. Friendly family biz. Their portion is huge! My favorite is their Shrimp Mushroom combo, honey shrimp, garlic shrimp, and tofu mushroom, and Wonton Soup. I am Asian and I know this place is delicious for the price you pay. Gourmet food and not fast food like Panda who are stingy on portions.

Close to the house, so I thought Id give it try. Bad idea. I got the curry chicken and it was BLAND. Curry should never be bland. Even the chow mein was bland. Everything was thoroughly soaked in oil, too. The only thing that wasnt soaked in oil was the steamed rice. Halfway through the meal, my stomach said NOPE, not today. Now Ill be running for the loo all night. All in all, its pretty disturbing that I just paid for a night of diarrhea. Save your digestive tract and go elsewhere.

First time and delivered. It came hot and plenty. Chicken Chowmen, beef broccoli, sweet and sour...all tasty. Broccoli was so tender! Next time, however, I will order chicken fried rice instead of pork fried rice which was a bit dry.Edit: tried again. Mostly good. Sweet sour pork was dry.Edit: tried again. Mongolian beef was oily. Fried rice was dry.

I give it a 4 star bc they are nice fast and food is pretty good. Not my absolute favorite but if Im lazy and dont want to drive outside my neighborhood its a great option. Enjoy!

Ive been getting my takeout here for 12 years. One reviewer said the food they got was old... impossible!!! Food is ONLY made to order. Your taste buds are dead.The rice bowl is the best way to go. No matter what you order you get a lot of food. This place makes the best Chinese and Cantonese Ive found in Sacramento or Placer county.Fats is really good but takeout orders never have enough food. Golden City usually gives enough for two meals and to me, tastes the same. Authentic recipes used at both places. I usually add a side order of spring rolls... tastes great!

Second time we have ordered here. I was actually giving place a chance to redeem itself from first visit. First visit, sweet & sour pork did NOT look like the picture on the wall. It was small, over cooked, super greasy pieces of something, like they had given me what was left on the bottom of the pot. It was late so it probably was. I go in today, requested sweet and sour pork like the one pictured on their wall menu. Shared my last experience with person on the register. He says to me, well it doesnt look like that because we really cook pork well. He suggested I order sweet and sour chicken instead. Had sweet & sour chicken last time and it was good. He suggested I order a large one at that so I did along with white rice which I watched him write it down. Of course I didnt check my order before driving back. All orders of White rice missing. Sweet and sour chicken was not the same kind I had two weeks ago. I would NOT recommend this hole in the wall. Their food reflects the hole in the wall that it is.

No competition, best customer service, they deliver!I love that I always get the same delivery driver, Steven, Very nice man, very professional. Also it helps that they have the BEST food I have ever had. I have been a customer for several years, and if I cant get food from here, I wait until I can. Not to mention the prices, you can a family of 4, for 33 dollars with plenty left over. And I have a big appetite. I am glad I found them!!! Thanks

If I could give this restaurant an absolute zero I would. I ordered over $60 in food last night on door dash my husband and I both ended up sick with food poisoning in the ER today so it was absolutely horrible. I would never ever ever ever ever recommend this restaurant to anybody because I think what it is is that they are not cleaning their kitchen properly and the meat is contaminated so I would be very careful if you eat here cause you may end up at the ER like my husband and I did for almost 5 hours today

Best takeout in Roseville !!..So awesome...been eating here for a long time...we love food and love this place... had to write a review. Everybody else on here says they love it but rating it like the restaurant critics. Definitely five stars! Food is fresh cooked made to order wonton soup amazing! The pork on the pork fried rice is amazing. The vegetables and everything is fresh and quality. Family-owned hard-working always a pleasure. Please try and support and tell your friends!

Just an unassuming place I drove past the first time looking for it. The young gal at register was so helpful. You could feel that she love her job and interacting with customers. After helping us get our order right for our meal and completing the sale she went to next level and started giving her thoughts on items we may try in future.

If you drove past this place you would miss it. If you drove up to this place you probably wouldnt want to dine in. But, what they lack in aesthetics they more than make up with their food. They have the best and freshest Chinese food around. We love it! And they always give you much more than what the menu says it serves. Freshness is big! Taste is even bigger!

Ive had a few really good dinners from here. But today I ordered Mu shu pork, and it was the WORST Ive ever had!!!! The flavor was bad and the pancakes were actually flour tortillas! I will never order this again!!! And it was almost $10 bucks for a minimal amount of food. Not happy today with my order😠😠😠

If you havent given Golden City a try, please do so! This has become my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant, and I immediately recommend it to anyone who asks me for options - and everyone Ive suggested them to so far has grown to love them as well! Really excellent quality food.

I recently moved here from Arizona and have not been able to find any decent, well priced Chinese food where I previously lived. Bland, overpriced, inconsistent - so disappointed with what was available.I was hesitant at first to order from here as this restaurant is just a hole in the wall next door to a 7-11 - but I found a diamond in this hole!This is the best Chinese food Ive had in years! The menu is quite expansive offering a variety of flavors - Peking, Szechaun, and Thai. Youre able to order the lunch combos (58 choices) all day long (Fried Rice, Steamed Rice or Chow Mein, Egg Roll, Entree, Fortune Cookie) - ranging from $6.20-$7.45. They offer 60 different selections of Entree over Rice ranging from $5.25-$6.25. Entrees alone are reasonably priced from $6.00 Chow Mein to $9.20 Shrimp selections.As others have said, the servings are very generous, guarantee leftovers for the next day or share 1 meal between 2 people. The food is served steaming hot and service was fast. I called my order in and the food was ready in 10 minutes (I live within 1.5 miles). No wait for this gal!Although the outside of the restaurant can appear a bit deceiving from the outside, the inside is clean and bright. The cashier/waitress spoke English very well and was very pleasant, always smiling. You can get a good look at the kitchen and the cooks while at the cash register or just standing around waiting for your pickup order - the kitchen appeared clean and orderly.I have no reason to try any other local Chinese Food restaurant ... this one is it for me - for price, quality, friendliness and location.
