Out of all the places in the bay area that Ive tried different versions of the Generals Chicken, this is the best! It has the best blend of sweet and spicy, and it never disappoints. Whenever the line crew is in the area this is our go to spot!

Sweet and sour pork meat was low quality. Shouldve stuck to chicken. Everything else was good though. Pricey, but everything is pricey in Sonoma

One of our go to take out foods in sonoma. Service is always tops d the food is great. Love their Mongolian Beef, chicken in bean sauce and general tsao chicken. They really do a great job all around!

Take out: NO WHITE RICE - when I called to ask why, they said I did not ask for it (?!). I would have needed to purchase white rice for our three entrees.

We regularly order and take out. The food is consistently good and clean. The service is friendly. Even though we only take out, the seating is spacious. Their wor won ton soup is the best!

Ordered from this place last night and what a surprise. They have hands down the best spring rolls I have ever had. It was larger in size with a great crunch on the wrap but also a nice crunch on the veggies inside. The General chicken was amazing with with an amazing sweet and spicy sauce. I also had their Chao mein, fried rice, and chicken with snow peas which was delicious. I may pick up some more egg rolls to go... today.

We have always ordered take out and enjoy Golden Springs fresh food with no msg, nicely cooked and friendliness of the entire family! Their vegetable spring rolls are so crunchy and the veggies delightful.Nice selection on their menu as well. Glad that we have this family in Sonoma! And, they are open on Sundays!

Not the fanciest Chinese restaurant out there, but more like good home cooking and you’d be hard pressed to find a better place north of the bay. The most delicious dish I would suggest is any of the fried rice plates. Some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Do order at least a half hour ahead of time so you don’t have to wait long though. Family owned restaurant.

ATTENTION ALL:Any negative reviews ... are bogus. I grew up in the Bay Area and know the difference between awesome Chinese cuisine and average. Golden Spring is the absolute best Chinese I have had in nearly 30-years (this includes my travels throughout the United States and Canada).These people are kind, attentive, reasonably quick (as fast as can be expected when quality is the focus) and they work hard to ensure we have a great dining experience each and every time.This is one of those hole in the wall places that delivers excellence in every sense of the word.

I ordered General Tsos Chicken which had a pepper on the menu which means hot. I asked for it to be mild, as well as no bell peppers, and substitute broccoli for the peppers. The server seemed amenable to that. My two friends ordered a dinner and most of their food came out before my one dish. My food came out and looked great. However, after eating about 1/3 of it, my mouth was BURNING FROM THE SALT!! The sauce was just straight soy sauce! No other flavors came through! To me, it was like eating a salt shaker! It was awful! Since I hadnt eaten most of the day, I could barely get through about 1/2 of the dish & called over the server and explained to her how inedible it was. Her response was no one has ever complained before. I gave it to her, she took it back. Normally, in a decent restaurant, I would be comped or some kind of discount. Not this place! She gave me my receipt for $9.73, and I paid her $10. Even my friend tasted it and agreed it was just soy sauce and extremely salty! We all left and I decided to write this review to stop others from my awful experience. One of my friends suggested Happy Garden, but this place was closer to where we all lived. NEVER AGAIN!! Reading the other reviews, I think theyve probably changed hands or gotten another chef who obviously doesnt know how to cook! Save your money - DONT GO TO GOLDEN SPRING!!

I would like to tell the owners that after many years coming here I wont be back. It has become clear that I am not welcome. I have enjoyed your food but feel that the chilly reception I received each time I come in is your way of saying dont come back. I see the kind and cheerful greetings others experience and can come to no other conclusion but I make you feel uncomfortable and would prefer i not come back. Wish granted

I placed an order to go, they told me 20 minutes. I got there in twenty two minutes being hungry. They then told me it wasnt ready after another 20 minutes of waiting they finally called my name The only way to describe how the Mongolian beef tasted would be to pretend you went into a Mexican restaurant and described to the chef(who had never had Mongolian beef in his/her entire life) and had them make it from your description and that is what it taste like. The chow mein, sweet and sour pork or pot stickers werent very good either. Do your self a favor and go to either Shanghai Restaurant or Happy Garden or really do your self a favor and take a trip to SF china town.

Whomever said to go to Happy Garden instead must have their head examined. Last time I was there they had a paper fly trap hanging from the ceiling over their hostess station, disgusting!!! Ive never gone back and often visit Golden Springs. The food is ok for chinese food outside of San Francisco. I havent found any good Chinese food north of Marin yet. They are hard workers and pleasant. Not the best Ive had, but I dont expect it unless Im in SF or Oakland.
