Good Choice Sushi Restaurant in Laguna Niguel

Ive been coming here for years and I always leave happy. It may not be the best sushi Ive ever had but I firmly believe the crunchy roll here is better than anywhere else Ive ever been. The hula roll was good though Ive had better poke. I also come here for the orange roll because I could eat a bowl of salmon roe myself. The guy behind the sushi bar was very attentive and super nice. I love the Hawaiian theme and little sushi boats that are actually boats.

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I stopped here to eat from a little road trip. We love sushi and we gave this place a try. One the best choices we ever did! The food was delicious, the service was great and we loved the cozy feeling since it’s small! We live about an hour and half away but we have already made plans of returning just for the yummy sushi!

Super bummed. After all the great reviews I decided to try Good Choice Sushi.Unfortunately I was very disappointed.I ordered 2 rolls in the afternoon. First they didnt answer the phone. Then, when they did answer, I was told it would be 35-45 minutes for the rolls to be ready.When I arrived the rolls were still not prepared. There were no customers in the restaurant so the only reason I can think of for the delay would be the staff showed up late and were unprepared to prepare food by the time they opened.I ordered a crunchy roll and a happy specialty roll..The Happy specialty roll was definitely not all that fresh. It had a fishy flavor to it. One bite and I was over it. Do I moved to the crunch roll. After biting into the first piece I realized the shrimp was not cooked through.Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to having a sushi restaurant across the street from my house.

My fiancé would eat here all the time as a kid. She moved to Texas where We met. For the last 8 and a half years, she has pretty much talked nonstop about how good choice sushi is the best sushi she has ver had. Needless to say, she has built up an expectation of excellence and other worldly quality from here.From bite one, I was not disappointed. The fish is so fresh and buttery and of the best quality sushi I have ever had. Not to mention the rice. It was nice and warm, tasted amazing, and complimented the fish.The employees are kind. Yesterday when we were they, everyone was nice! But also 5 years ago, when I called them from Texas and asked to buy a shirt and have them ship it, they were more than happy to help out. They even give you 10% off for wearing a shirt in. (They gave us a free appetizer coupon when I bought the shirt, but I forgot to bring it from Texas).Needless to say, Good Choice Sushi is my new religion. We will come in every time we are in the area.

Fun place for sushi. My latest visit was underwhelming, as the staff seemed to be more focused on take-out orders than the customers in the restaurant or the sushi boats. My previous visits had more than appetizers and fruits on the boats, and it used to be really awesome, being able to try so many different things. Its still one of my favorite places for sushi in the area, but the novelty is gone with the lack of variety on the boats. The boats are the whole reason you go to Good Choice!

Superb staff! Even though I didnt know how to phrase my order, they helped me order the poke bowl i meant to. Good looking out for me. Very thoughtful waiter. Generous food! A lovely place with chill Hawaiian vibes.

Ive heard good things about this place for years and years. Finally had the opportunity to go and it did not disappoint. Started out with miso soup and edamame which were both great. Then I got the kalikimaka roll and the spicy tuna roll. Both were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back. This will be a regular place for me.

I am sorry I came here. The food at this place is just bad. The fish quality was questionable and flavorless. The sushi rice was flavorless, too. And they give you thin slices of fish on a huge mound of rice. The service was just okay. The kids working here will let your empty plates pile up in front of you without removing them. They just dont know what theyre doing. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in my years that are just okay where I wouldnt feel compelled to leave such a terrible review like I am right now. But this place is deserving of this review. Youre best off trying anywhere else than this place. It was not a good choice. Lol!

Amazing experience here at Good Choice Sushi. The food is amazing and Alex is the best. All you can eat is so worth it if you are really hungry. Highly recommend this place to people who love sushi.

The quality of the sushi is better than most good ayce sushi places. I was particularly impressed with the salmon and yellowtail sushi. Fresh and good quality like a good a la carte place. Is the sushi the very best? No but no ayce place is. Ayce is every Monday and Tuesday 5-9pm
