Googie Grill in Seaside

Crispy Parmesan Brussel sprouts were tasty, very crispy, but slightly lacking salt and parmesan. Also they were whole, would recommend they be cut in half for maximum crispiness. Garlic parmesan fries were delicious. They did not skimp on the parmesan or garlic! Fish and chips were 7/10 perfectly decent. Fries with with fish and chips were very good, different from garlic fries. Penne Alfredo was overwhelmingly dissapointing unfortunately. There was no flavor, very very bland, and the garlic bread was also very bland. Will not get this dish again.

My first time eating here and I ordered the san-dab fish with mashed potatoes and vegetables to go and let me tell you it’s was sooooo delicious! Everything on my plate was fresh and full of flavor! This is like a little diamond in the rough spot I will definitely be coming back here again.

All of our seafood was a tad over cooked but the food was still really good and the service was great!

Probably the worst eggs Benedict I have ever had. Margherita Benedict, tomato and mozzarella cheese and basil and parsley. Oofa this flavor profile does not work. Home fries were hArd and service was slow.

I went to Googie one day by myself on a lunch break and enjoyed it so much! Super friendly staff, yummy fish and chips, and was able to get in and out quickly to get back to my next appointment. Highly recommend! Great items on the menu for a great price..

Omg the food! It is perfect and the decor and cafe as a whole was awesome. I’ve been there in the past, 2016. It was great. This time I was blown away. I had steak and eggs. The medium rare ribeye steak I ordered was perfectly charred and cooked exactly as requested. The sourdough toast and homemade jam were great together. There was even Hollandaise sauce in a small cup on my plate. The potatoes were so good that I ate them all. I usually don’t do that anywhere else but these were great. My husband got the corned beef hash and it was good size chunks. I had a bite and it was so good. I wish it were closer to my home. If you’re in the area stop and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Clam and Mussels starter was delicious. I even forgot to take a picture of it since I devoured it in a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, this gave me a higher expectation for the main course. I got the prawns and risotto next, and the prawns disappointed, but were edible. The Risotto, however, was awful. Stay away from it.I wish I could give a 3.5/5 star, but giving it a 3 would not do those clam and mussels any justice. From the looks of it, their other food looked good too. Just stay away from their Risotto.

Last year there was a fire at this restaurant. So they rebuilt and remodeled it. At first I didnt understand the name and decor because the dinner menu and the professionalism of the waiting staff didnt seem to fit the 1950 era that the restaurant had said it was on line. We were expecting it to be more casual. Dont get me wrong the feel of the restaurant isnt fancy but definitely not the laid back feel I thought we were going to have.The decor has this pretty teal and the architecture of the restaurant does not match what it looks like outside. They have comfy looking booth seating, the music was jazzy, the woodwork was beautiful and the feel seemed more upscale than we expected. Prices for dinner was a little higher than we expected too. We just went in for a small bite to eat. The waiting staff was so professional, friendly and attentive! We kinda felt we were in Carmel!! I LOVEDDDDDD the French Onion Soup! We probably will go back for breakfast since there menu has a lot to try AND THEY HAVE BENITS in the morning. Please read the background of why they named the restaurant Google Grill and the inspired architecture that ties in with the name. Food was absolutely amazing. Wait staff on the other hand not so much. 1 waiter, 1 hostess? And the waiter not only wouldnt keep his mask on correctly, he also really didnt check on us at all. The hostess had to refill drinks and I had to get the waiters attention to get boxes and the check even tho we had clearly been done and sitting there waiting. We will definitely be back but will probably get take out as to avoid the whole sit in experience.

Google Grill is always wonderful great food and great service googie grill is my go-to place to eat in the Seaside Monterey area breakfast lunch or dinner they have it covered they also have a nice beer and wine selection. Prime rib on Friday night is amazing the French dip is definitely one of the best that Ive hadWe love the Googie Grill
