Awesome place to stop by on the way out to or coming from LA, out to Joshua Tree. We stopped there on our way back from a great weekend in 29 Palms. Food was fantastic - biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, the whole 9 yards. Service was great and the staff was very friendly. Its a restaurant that harkens back to yesteryear for sure, but the quality and the service actually stand up. Love this place and I have good memories there.

My pictures and video speak 1000 words.You don’t ever find a place that is original as this and it’s also very refreshing to know that there is something that is extraordinary. Chain restaurants out there are boring. Mom & Pop places like this should be supported. This is the American Dream, so support it.You all are wonderful.

What a delightful down home country cooking restaurant. Place is filled with nostalgic items. Waitress LORI was very nice and helpful with the wide choice menu. JAIME though not our server was super nice and attentive. As a first time visitor I will definitely go back...so many things to try. Great bakery too.

First time eating here. The food was good, I only tried the chicken fried chicken, mash potatoes with some bread. Maybe a 5 star if I try another meal. You can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. The people there were very polite and always asked if we needed anything. I would say give it a try and see what you like and see what you think. Delicious home style meals. Tried the fresh baked cinnamon roll and it is amazing. It is soft, warm, doughy and the pad of butter just sends it to another level. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak and eggs which was full of flavor and cooked perfectly with the best crunch. The gravy was good, could use a bit more meat flavor. Coffee was delicious and paired amazingly well with the cinnamon roll.

Okay this place was so delicious, the price can be a little high, depending on what you order, like my malt that was $6.99 and one coffee for $3.99, but the portions of food are huge, the coffee is all you can drink and the malt was so much so overall it makes up for it. Try the chicken fried steak, its so yummy. Its a nice little place, I felt like I was in a western movie vintage diner! I went twice in my 2022 California Vacay!

Family owned and operated! A long time favorite of ours as they have been in business for about 40 years!! We stopped by this morning for breakfast and they were very busy. The wait for a table for 4 people was only about 15 minutes and the food came out very fast and HOT!! The portions are very generous and everything is scratch made to order! My husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs! YUM! They have many different flavors of fresh pie and their cinnamon rolls are fresh baked the size of a small dinner plate with lots of gooey icing! Highly recommend this little gem!!

We asked for some new ones and the waitress was very understanding, she got us some more turkey bacon that was cooked just right :)I got the Chili Verde Omelet and my husband got the California Omelet, they did not disappoint! All of the waitresses are so kind and welcoming. We love how they are on top of the coffee refills too. But, we did go on a weekday so that may have helped.

Very small town but great service and food. This place can get packed during the weekend, so plan accordingly. We usually go for their breakfast, the best part, prices are reasonable. Their banana cream and lemon meringue pie is amazing!

The food was serviceable but could’ve been better. The omelette I ate was slightly over cooked and too crispy. The main reason I’m giving this place only one star is the service. When we first arrived to eat here it was slightly busy but I’ve seen worse. Our waitress was incredibly oblivious and rude. She never asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything. My dad and I never received a refill and our plates were never cleared. Additionally, staff forgot about my drink about three times and forgot to bring us silverware a couple times. The waitress was an older lady with blonde hair, she was only checking on the “regulars” aka customers who regularly show up to this place and completely ignored everyone else. This woman gave 99% percent of her attention to a group of twelve and quickly refilled their drinks, etc. without an issue. It’s absolutely unbelievable how unprofessional she was. Lastly, when I was checking out and paying my bill, the lady at the cash register never asked how our meal was, gave me an attitude when I asked to purchase a cookie, and was giving a dirty look to the customers who came up to her. Very unapproachable, who spit in this lady’s coffee to make her so upset?! Not coming back!

Our server was nice. I ordered egg salad sandwich on sourdough with steak fries. Fries were okay but the sandwich was awful - the bread looked like the white bread you get from a dollar store and they were stale, hard and half-curled. The egg salad was like smashed eggs with no taste. The lettuce was old. Didn’t have a good food there.

We came here to support local business instead of big corporate America.Came with family and it was busier than usual due to fathers day. The line was incredibly long and it was a 45min wait time before my party was seated.The food itself was great. Everyone in my party had their food be on point. A unique gem in the area, and the menu options almost overwhelming; all day breakfast and lunch as well. We stuck with “Made from scratch” section: chicken pot pie and beef stew. Chicken pot pie: “awesome”. Beef stew: on the salty side but is hearty and filling. Apple pie: good! Four berry pie: so sweet it’s hard to imagine there’s no added sugar. Drinks: reasonable prices, $4 for wine/beer. With so many options to choose from and a “home made” feeling, there’s something for everyone here.This place is definitely worthy of repeat visits. Daily special: Rib eye breakfast - huge amount of food - 8oz ribeye, choice of pancake (went with pumpkin-delicious!) 2 eggs, substitute potato for tomatoes. Cinnamon bun: super rich, heavenly when heated up. Service: consistently good.

Came here about 11ish on a Saturday, after a morning at the outlets. Wait was short, staff were very friendly. This place is cute, and looks like someone’s grandmas house!!!! I was driving back to LA from Yucca Valley and needed to find something that wasnt fast food. I saw tge sign from the highway and prayed for the best. Let me tell you- that was The Best omellette I have ever had. I did need to add salt but i appreciate them not over seasoning. It was cooked well and was hearty and just tasted so good. The servers were all very sweet and when I asked for real butter for my grits instead of the vegetable oil spread she said yes with delight. I will remember this place the next time I go out to the desert

I felt as though Id gone back to a gentler time when you are truly served with a smile. This is a place to bring your kids to see carousel horses from back in the day. The staff were amazing! Our waitress and the gentleman who brought our after meal desserts were friendly and kind with great smiles! And the food was fantastic, and when we paid our bill, the cashier was so sweet, laughing and chatting with us like a friend. Had their Three Scoop Salad which was a scoop of egg salad, tu a salad and macaroni salad on a bed of lettuce. Tuna salad looked like cat food, egg salad was very bland and the macaroni salad was dry as a bone. Husband had fish and chips, and said it was worst he ever had. We ended up getting most of our meal taken off our bill, and the waitress,who was pleasant and understanding, comped us a cinnamon roll to take home. It was a brick! Fun y, we heard the folks at an adjacent table saying their food was no good either. We went their because of their ratings and large menu. Will NOT go back. Sorry Gramma

Grandmas Country kitchen was an awesome place to stop and have a quick meal before heading home. Place was busy but the servers were quick friendly and courteous. I had steak and eggs for $12.99 and it was worth it. My friend had biscuits and gravy and she loved it. The pancakes for fluffy thick melt in your mouth. Be sure and check out the cinnamon rolls, theres huge fluffy yummy goodness! I never in the area again its going to be my one stop for another meal.

My wife and I ended up there on Mothers day by accident. We were heading towards Palm Springs to celebrate. We stopped to eat and hostess and waitress were excellent. They were very friendly and inviting 5 stars to them. When the food arrived my wife and I got disappointed. We knew something was going wrong when the entire order arrived at the same time. The salad and soup were delicious but the fried steak and gravy were cold. The cook does not make the food as ordered it had to be sitting there for a while. Grandma is not going to see back. We were accidentally seated with the group. We were not served quickly, because the group was all having the same food. When we asked the waitress to take our order she realized we were set in the wrong place. It did take a while to get relocated and served. This is a great country kitchen restaurant. I went for lunch with five other coworkers during the week and experienced no problems whatsoever. I had a pastrami sandwich, a chicken Caesar salad with garlic bread, and a slice of banana cream pie. It was all very delicious. Plenty of seating, large menu, good service, and great food at reasonable prices. Next time I am in Banning CA I will be sure to stop there to eat.

I liked Grandmas Kitchen in Banning off of Ramsey across the street from the barber and saloon called the back alley i think..there are only a few good Mom and Pop shops or diners open amd still continuing there business as they should and there doing a fine damn great job and always wearing there face shields.they continuously check in on customers inside or outside and offer you hand sanitizer and ask you to keep your mask at hand and worn properly.

This place was packed, a good sign of some good food. Me and my bestfriend came here for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is delicious, and Im not the biscuits and gravy kind of person, but I kept nibbling at this hearty meal that my bestfriend ordered. Another good item to get here, its a sweet treat enough for 2, is the brownie topped with ice cream and fudge, and the price is very reasonable. It was worth the 30 minute drive, and cant wait to return and try something new.

I loved this place! I ate around 1230pm on a Saturday and it was a well attended restaurant. The omelette, hash browns, and muffin with -yes- homemade jelly was just so badazz. The decor is certainly interesting, there is a lot of country and Christian messages and decor on the walls.Id say it didnt really feel all that clean, and there was a lot of confusion between the servers on who was working which area.The biggest disappointment was the food. My partner says the chicken fried steak was amazing, but the pancakes and waffles were utterly flavorless, even though they looked amazing but the taste wasnt there, even with syrup.

This place was crackin when we went. Just about 12 on a Sunday. Every seat in the house was filled. Our wait time was about 25 mins. The menu was overwhelming. Many breakfast and lunch options from eggs, sandwiches, and burgers. The turnovers (apple & cherry) were yummy. I had the open faced sandwich, it was ok. The kids had mozzarella sticks....they were huge! That was a hit. My son had chicken tenders and fries. That was a very large portion. Hubby had some kind of Mexican inspired breakfast (we forgot the name). Service was good, short staffed but attentive. It was just ok. I think this is a staple spot in the area. We enjoyed our time there.

I have been to this restaurant a few times before, always 5 star. Today we were seated near the service area (coffee, napkins, creamer etc. ) with a small walk area between us and the counter. I asked the young man if we could change tables. He asked why and I said the counter was close and we didn’t want to be bumped in to. He argued saying nobody really goes there. There were multiple other open tables. I again asked to be moved. He and another employee in a red shirt cleared the table next to us so we moved. He picked up the extra menus and tossed them onto the table. We carried our silverware with us. Now the fun begins. The rest of our party arrived and asked for water, finally came when food arrived. Getting a refill on coffee was non existent. Our waitress asked if we needed anything and we asked for coffee. She told the second red shirt kid to get coffee, he filled my sons’ cup but walked away as I held up my cup. We asked 3 times for missing silverware (forks) and one set that was on the table was dirty, used to stir coffee. I will definitely not go back. We had family visiting from out of town and had told them all about Grandmas, the food was good but the poor service caused us to apologize to our family.

We have eaten in there on and off for 30 years. it had been a few years but we were close. We had the meatloaf diner. At $15.99 it is way over priced and the food was not all that good. The baked potato was small and not cooked all the way. The corn on the cob was very small and no flavor. The meatloaf was cut very thin and a little dry on the edges. The salads were small. The corn bread was a little dry and my wifes banana bread was not cooked at all and was like dipped in water it was so wet. The meal was $34.45 for 2 plus a tip. The value would have been half on a good day. We eat at Jennys dinner in Highland CA and get the same meal on the senior special for $6.99 and out the door for $15.20 including tax. The salads are 3 times the size and nicer. The potatos are 3 times the size, the veggies are always different and good. The meatloaf is thick and not hard on the edges. You can also have soup or salad. The soups are good. You get a nice dinner roll. You get pudding or Jello for a desert. You really get a good meal and they are not expensive on the entire menu. The servers at grammas were very nice and spot on. They are pushing $30 for a stake and it is not a stake house. Sorry but it is way over priced and a 5 out of 10 on the food. We travel all over the country and other parts of the world. So much better food in LA and even at hole in the walls in the mid west. Never going back. I am over 70.

I was impressed by the old school and contemporary menu including traditional breakfast and lunch items while also offering healthy options and even vegan and vegetarian dishes. Fantastic place to meet family and have a great meal. When I was younger we would stop there for their famous brownies....So good! Now that Im all grown up, I have to compliment their service as well. Very rare is my coffee cup empty....and they clear the table as soon as they can to give the guests more room without feeling over crowded.
