The food is so delicious here!! Showed up for my birthday and little did I know they give free meal when you show your ID for proof. So that was awesome!I didnt realize that we forgot to tip until the day after... I know, I felt horrible.. 😭

I had a really bad day today and my dad took us out to dinner tonight and honestly it was great. The server who took us to our table was really nice, the server who collected our plates and refilled our drinks was super on top of it and he was also very nice. I never have an issue here. Ive had a hankering for some sushi for a week now and this dinner just fulfilled that craving. Love this place. My favorite food they serve is their Jalapeno Chicken. Always spicy and always cooked perfectly. My hats off to the chefs who make the food thats served they are masters at their craft.

Seems like every town on the US has a Chinese buffet, and Redding is no exception. This buffet offers all the usual food options including some American foods as well. The food will be fresh if you get here wisely near to opening, like 11:30 or before. I did and the food was all fresh and hot and the service was fine. Prices are up like everything these days.

Stopped here on our way back to Monterey. Food was tasty, very hot and appealing. Service was very efficient. Bathrooms were clean. A little pricey place, but food is good! I would recommend stopping here for a bite.

The food was well below average. Presentation was great selection was great. Cleanliness was great. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want tasty sushi, and California rolls. Again, good selection but no flavor. The fried rice looked and tasted nothing like I’ve ever seen before. They served lo mein instead of chow mein, noodles were tough. Plenty of everything just low quality. Everything that was fried was extremely tough. Service was good.

UPDATE: had to take my son to the hospital and they said he has severe food poisoning, I do not recommend eating here😡Had a great time with my family, but the next morning my son is violently ill, he’s only two years old and is picky so he only ate a small selection. Plus I found a long hair in my food. After my son being so sick this morning I don’t think I’m going to be going back. Also some lady kept following me around while I was grabbing food 🤬

Great spot for good Chinese buffet food!The quality really shouldnt disappointment. Its pretty great! Lots of variety and comfortable eating space. Service is quick and friendly.All kinds of food from sushi, Chinese to a little Italian (which might just be pizza) and they do a good job of all. Great food and reasonably priced. Staff were on the ball. They have lots of choices so it was perfect for everyone to get what they liked. This was first time there, we had 6 in our party, which one was our 3 year old Granddaughter, and we all really enjoyed. Would definitely go back.

Overall, the food here was tasty. There were a few dishes here and there that were o.k. but for the most part, everything was tasty and flavorful. Food was fresh and there was a LOT of variety. Buffet even had more comfort foods, such as nuggies and fries for kiddos or for more picky people. Salad is an option. The staff was very good at assuring we were comfortable and accommodated. Some of the food is great, some is blah, and some is alright. This place had great food when they had first opened years ago, then it got really really bad, but its gotten better, maybe changed owners or something. Anyways, its edible. The only thing is the music they play in there is uhm questionable. I dont know if many people realize the music is playing or what it is because its not played too loudly. But loud enough that if you pay attention youll hear songs like WAP or kill bill, neither are what Id call family friendly

Food was average and barely any staples of a Chinese buffet like General Tso’s, cashew chicken, sesame chicken, kung pao, etc. Sushi was just okay, spring rolls and crab Rangoon were tiny. Hostess was not pleasant at all but I am giving 2 stars because the gentleman getting my refills was attentive and friendly. Price seems high for below average cuisine.

My first time there and it was delicious! Better than I expected. Im not a big eater anymore, and I usually get small portions to keep from wasting food, which is a good thing because they will charge extra for people who waste a bunch of food! This is a great policy in my opinion because too many people cannot resist taking a huge plate full of food, only to leave a bunch on their plate, or fill the kids plate and the kids dont want anything except for dessert! Bad parenting!

To start, I visited in March 2022 and MASKS WERE NOT REQUIRED as stated by the website. This was my third visit in 3 years (live in east bay area); however, the huge selection and variety of food seems endless compared to other buffets in their class. In my opinion as with others who contribute, I sample certain dishes and rate them based on presentation, temperature, quantity/quality, color, seasoning, and flavor. I have had the opportunity to eat during lunch and Grand Buffet has many dishes to choose from that are very good. You will be pleased, just wait and see for yourself.

The buffet is nicely stocked for the dinner menu, a little more sparse for lunch. Generally the food is pretty good, nothing to write home about, but not bad for a buffet. Overall if you are hungry and want to pick and choose an oddball assortment of Chinese food, American food and some sushi its a good place to eat, if you want fine dining look somewhere else. No real complaints, the coconut shrimp is good, but not much else to really praise in particular.

I brought my two nieces here, this evening for dinner. And let me just say, it is terrible. My niece found MOLD in her food and nearly ate it. When I brought it up to the manager her response was, mold in inevitable, as it is a buffet Im sorry but no! You should take extra care to make sure that your customers are taken care of and dont ingest mold. I will never come here again. And I highly suggest that you dont either. Further more if you fail to finish your food they charge you twice. I got charged twice because we didnt finish our food that my niece found MOLD in. Unacceptable!!!!

Ive gone here before the pandemic and in last few months. Im very disappointed because even if I go later for dinner meal and they have raised their prices, many of the meats are no longer available. I understand crabs might not be but the ham and roast turkey isnt either. I may still go again but not the evening meal prices. Only because I love desert and they have a great selection and I also have full plates of salads and fruit in addition to a plate of Chinese vegetables and meat. It is the only real buffet in town as far as Im concerned. Its a great chain that only has a couple places in CA.

Waiters and waitresses only came to our table once. Our waters were empty and they would not even come fill them. The food has completely changed, and a bunch of the food was underdone. We used to eat here all the time, they charged us $40 for two people with no drinks. And they didnt even have the dishes that we wanted. That they always had in past times. Absolutely a waste, my wife and I ended up only eating one plate each and when we saw that it was underdone we just could not. I personally would not recommend this to anyone. I have had other Chinese places in town, and there is way better Chinese than this place. Noodles were overdone, broccoli was underdone, and completely didnt even have sweet and sour chicken. Theres are better places to support in Redding.

I think it is wrong for the restaurant to charge a service fee automatically. Then on top of it they automatically take out their own tip. It should be up to the customer if they want to tip the restaurant. I will not be eating there again

It was nice to be able to indulge in one if my past pleasures: mass produced sushi rolls and American Chinese food.It appears that the business is back up and running as it has been before, but with very minor alterations to how patrons enjoy their meals. Diners are expected to wear masks when not eating (such as going up to the buffet), keep distance from each other (tables are marked off to keep distance), and use plastic gloves when handling the spoons and tongs for self service (I pray that practice continues even if all other pandemic protocols suddenly stop).The food was flavorful, without my MSG allergy flaring up, and well presented.Four stars because its good stuff, but not blow your socks off amazing.

Well, my husband loves this place so we go here frequently. You can dine in for their all-you-can eat buffet which is a set price for the lunch or dinner menu. You can also ask for a to-go container and make your plate to eat at home. The to-go buffet is charged by the pound. The lunch menu is an unusual mix of Chinese, Japanese and American cuisine, and dinner is basically the same with the addition of Alaskan king crab legs.

I was very happy to find Grand Buffet was open. It has been so long since I was able to eat at a buffet.First off, the people working here are wonderful! They made our visit fantastic and the service was great. The food was just as delicious as it looked and everything was at the temperature it should be served at. I really enjoyed the pork ribs and the fried green beans were amazing. Their choice of 4 different soups were great, I loved the mizo, my wife loved the eggdrop and I thought the hot and sour was great.Looking forward to going back soon.

This is a good buffet with fresh hot food. They have everything from seafood, Chinese food, some American to a desert section, soups and salad, etc. Soft Ice cream machine too. Very yummy stuff. Posted a review previously, about 4 years ago that was 3/5 stars because the food was burnt, and this place used to be great. Now, I am revising my review. My oldest graduated 8th grade recently, and wanted to go here with a friend because its a Chinese Buffett. I thought okay, maybe things have gotten better. Boy was I wrong. Now at nearly $20 per person the quality of the food is even worse than before, and I was absolutely shocked that the breaded chicken we would typically pair with sweet and sour sauce had been replaced with chicken nuggets...and not even good chicken nuggets. They were hard and hurt my teeth. Everything we had was not good, and I was actually embarrassed that I had taken my sons friends with us. $130 dollars later and I have to say I quite angry with spending that money, and I also ended up having to take my husband to the ER almost immediately after. There are quite a few places around that are much better and cost less or are comparable in price. I would advise to try those first. I could have gone to my usual place and spent $100 with more the enough GOOD food to feed everyone, but my son wanted to go out to eat. I am honestly sorry I agreed, and so was he. Worse quality for more money. Disappointing.

The place is hit and miss. Ive been 3 times, and the second time the food was dried as if it had been sitting there for too long, or the cooks overcooked it. The other two times, the food was cooked well, and I had learned what items I liked or disliked. The staff are always friendly and quick to clear your plates. Staff could be a bit more aware of your drink level though, as you cant refill drinks on your own.

Something for everyone. If you dont like chinese or seafood you could even fill up on white rice, bbq ribs, chicken on a stick, fruit and veggies. Lots of seafood. The seafood medley, coconut shrimp, and sole fish is very good. Egg drop and wonton soup is very good. The teramisu for dessert is very good. The fish pond is a nice. Made me sad though because they dont have much room at all. Thats a very sad existence to only be able to go 5ft everyday all day and thats your life. They are in fish jail but even worse because they dont get visiting hours where they go to a different room or go to the yard or the library or the eating haul. They can only ever be in one room or (1) 5 ft space. Something to think about.

A great variety of different foods to try and enjoy. The quality is good for what it is. The only thing that I am disappointed in is the sushi, they are just not very good, and usually mislabeled. My most recent visit I selected a Spicy Tuna roll, and thought it looked different but tried it anyways. It was some sort of Pickled Ginger roll, with a sweet pickle. Crazy high prices for a Buffett!!!! $84 for 4 adults 2 of which got a senior discount. Food was okay. Didnt have crab or a few other seafood items. Weve gone to maybe one other indoor dining restaurant in the last year, and so were hesitant, but Covid precautions were top notch.The food is what you expect from a standard Chinese buffet (i.e.: not actual Chinese food, but American adaptations and creations, all the way to the fortune cookie at the end). Thats not a bad thing if its what you were after, and we were. See other peoples pictures. The sushi is better than grocery store sushi but several steps below a decent sushi restaurant.Like many buffets, they stop putting out food as they approach closing time, and thats where my rating goes from five stars to four. At an hour and a half before closing, they stated this practice, and thats when we showed up. So, despite asking the staff, we never got to eat some of the foods we came for, and since we discovered this after already eating a little, we were already committed. It wasnt important enough to complain more about, so we went in other directions.

The crab and butter was weird to say the least, one bite couldnt stomach it.. So I moved onto dessert.. I picked a slice of cheesecake- I love cheesecake.. All you can eat buffet for about ten dollars. Decent and cheap Chinese food. Better than hometown buffet except for the deserts. Sushi, noodles,dumplings, it doesnt even taste like it came out of a microwave. I suggest you to eat it.

This place can be a 3 star if you go at the right time and a 1 star if you miss it or go late. I would not bring out of towners here to impress them obviously but if its around noon and you want all you can eat sort of ok sushi or you just want to stuff yourself and you have an iron gullet then go.

All you can eat (but you wont want to) overpriced, heatlamp dehydrated jerky, that might have once been food. Poor to non existent service with a healthy side of filthy. Oh! And the Ice Tea tastes like pool water. Just dont.

This place is the best all you can eat Asian American buffet that I have ever been to. The food was great and had good flavor. The Chinese food did not taste all the same. It was fresh and flavorable. Even the sushi was great.

I love this place they have by far the best butterfly shrimp this place is family friendly and they have huge goldfish I believe $0.25 or $0.50 you could feed them lots of different options to eatI highly recommend this place if youre having Chinese food craving.

Attractive food. But I could not chew anything with chicken or beef and pork, chicken anything is rubber, except for the chicken wings, very tastey and able to chew.Not going back. 2 thumbs down.Oh, and had a hair in my banana pudding.All sweets were bland.

It was the most horrible experience we have had there. Kids yelling at one table. Adults laughing at another looking at their phones. Behind us were people singing. And the food was not as good as usual.
