I was headed to a different restaurant, (a good one too) when I passed buy this little pasty shop, the sandwich board caught my eye,I am so glad I that I came in. Fast friendly service, absolutely delicious meaty and savory (and vegetarian options) pasties.Great food

This place is great! This was actually my second visit to this place, originally I stopped by about 2-3 years ago, and it was amazing then also. I got the cousin Jack, and it was amazing. My friends the the pork one, and they loved it. This is only place I’ve ever had a pasty at, and it has certainly set the bar high. The bread on the pasty is so flaky and crispy. You can see the bakers making everything right behind the counter. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I am certainly coming back. It’s on the corner of the street, with a mine cart out front. It’s a cool little gem, that is definitely worth visiting.

As a Michigander, this was like a step back home. I grew up eating pastys. So delicious. My son and I stepped in here a couple weeks ago and both picked out a pasty. He chose the chicken with artichoke instead of mushroom and I got a pulled pork. Yum! Other than the small location that doesnt easily accommodate sitting down, I give it a 5/5. Customer service was wonderful as well. Very down to earth friendly people. Will revisit!

This was my first visit here from Orange County. I couldn’t wait to get back today to my brothers house to taste this Pasty. I ate the entire thing. The meat and fresh ingredients in them were delicious. I tried another local Pasty restaurant but was not impressed, theirs had more dough then anything. I believe they use lard as well but the Grass Valley Pasty restaurant does not use lard. Definitely get more bang for your buck on this Pasty. I will spread the word on this restaurant. Before I leave, I’ll buy another dozen and take them back to Orange County. Thanks guys for taking the time to give me the history and enlighten me on how you make these with all the fresh ingredients.

Incredible pasty and lovely staff. Wish there was more than three chairs out front for dining but we made it work. Can’t wait for my next visit. Pot roast was my favorite!

First time here. And WOW! I bought several pasties but so far have only eaten the veggie. It was so fresh and delicious. I’m pretty sure I could eat this every day.The staff were so nice and friendly. I was in town around 10:30am and website said they didn’t open until 12. I called anyway just hoping… they answered and were nice enough to take my order and let me know they’d have my order ready in 25 minutes.If you haven’t been here you are missing out on a really delicious pasty.I live in Roseville but I’d be willing to drive up specifically to get more!

Awesome local business! These kickass guys make huge Cornish pasties of a coupe different varieties. BBQ pulled pork, traditional, chicken, ect. Theyre a whole meal in themselves and the dudes behind the counter are nice folks.

Horrible…bought two pot roast for drive back to Auburn…was miles away before tried to eat…carrots and potatoes were raw…awful. Threw, them away. Yuck. Even I know to par-boil veggies for meat pies so when the pastry is done baking, you know the veggies are cooked too!

Just felt good being there and leaving there. Wonderful conversation, friendly customer service. They let us try the Vegetarian version Pastie which was phenomenal! We will be back and I will be bring them a treat for treating us! Go get yourself a Pasty!!

Absolutely excellent. Visited with my in-laws from Korea. We ordered the pot-roast pasty. I was actually surprised that they liked it. I came back the next day and got the chicken and the puller pork. Another hit! Family went all in for the pasties. Im hooked. Crust is top notch and all the ingredients are super flavorful. I took todays order home and dipped a few bites into some siriracha sauce. Super good. 👌

A pasty is a Welch hand pie in a pastry crust. Can contain various meats and vegetables with a savory gravy. They have a vegetable version, not sure it is vegan. They are sold as fresh or frozen to go. You have to bake them yourself. These are seriously tasty and go great with a salad.

This place has the best pasties Ive ever had. I Grew up in the Grass Valley area, so Ive eaten pasties for decades. They use high quality ingredients and the employees are so friendly. You definitely must give this place a try. You will come back again and again as we have.

My hubby and Ive wanted to try this place for a long time, I havent had a pasty in over 20 years and after lunch today I feel like Ive been missing out. I had the chicken pasty and to say it was wonderful is an understatement. The perfect warm comfort food on a cold day. The combination of flavors were so rich and the crust was flaky and buttery. Amazing!! Our lunch was far better than anything I imagined and I had to go back in to thank the owner and staff for such a great meal. This place is an hour from home but I assure you, it has become a new fave and well be back soon.

Yummiest pasties weve had in the states so far. (From UK England)We asked for a customized order and they were able to produce it without trouble. Ordered a veggie and two customized cheese and onion pasties. All three were very delish.The pasties had a lot of body to them and were well filled.Customer service was also extremely nice and welcoming.Although initially the prices seemed a little high, the portion sizes are huge and I couldnt finish mine in one serving.Id definitely come back to this place and recommend to others.Very happy with our purchase.(Please add the mature cheddar, onion, mushroom, potato and spinach to the menu) 😋

We love this place! These pastys are delicious, and we have loved the creativity with the daily specials like the Turkey and pesto pasty or the chipotle chicken pasty with black beans, as well as the more traditional ones with steak and potatoes. The crust is flaky and everything you hope for in a pasty! The service is always great and friendly. My husband and I highly recommend them!

Heard good things about this place from a friend and made a detour to check it out - we’re Brits living in the Bay Area for the past 5 years and these are the first pasties we’ve found over here and they were PERFECT, exactly what we were hoping for. Heartily recommend any variation, but the pot roast was delicious.

Eating the Cousin Jack as I write this. Very delicious! Was in Grass Valley to go to Heather Yarn Co and this was right around the corner. Will definitely stop in again the next time I’m in town. My sister got the pulled pork and liked that as well. Will try the pot roast next.

Amazing! Ive lived in Grass Valley my whole life and have tried all the different pasty options available here. My experience with gvpc was hands down the best ever. These pasties are huge, fresh, and delicious. The ingredients are all very high quality and you can tell from the first bite that youre in for something awesome. I would recommend this place ten times over!

You have to try these Pasties! They are the real Cornish Pastries and are delicious! Ive eaten many Pasties, but these are by far the best!!! My favorites so far are the Cousin Jack and the Chicken. Ill try Pot Roast next. They are a complete meal wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust. Yum!

I just enjoyed my first pasty from this new establishment. Initially I questioned the price, yet due to the size and quality (baked fresh daily) the cost was very fair. The chicken with portobello mushrooms was amazing, seriously the most delicious and flaky pasty I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work guys!

I tried the chicken and the skirt steak pie. They are both made with excellent ingredients but they are not really seasoned and don’t have gravy in them. They are different then I expected but they are still delicious. The staff are really sweet and helpful. They saved some for me so they wouldn’t be out when I arrived. Thank you again.

I grew up eating pasties in the upper peninsula of Michigan. This place is phenomenal.Be aware there are no bathrooms and limited, chair only seating on the porch.

Oh dear gawd this place was amazing... we’ve been to the other place (which weren’t bad) but this place is beyond delicious! The smell alone is incredible, but then you bite into that crust and dayyyyummmm 😍😍😍 We ended up buying 7 to take home and freeze after neither of us could finish the ones we bought for lunch. They can easily feed 2 people- we plan on serving them with sides for a perfect and hearty meal. LOVE!!!

If you speak proper English you know that pasty is Cingular and pasties refer to more than one. Ask for talking bad about our competition, I think Sacramento magazine put it best. “If there is a competition it seems to be a friendly one.” We we’re all raised on Marshalls Pasties and a little competitive spirit is health as far as we are concerned. We eat there at least once a month. We appreciate the path Marshalls has laid and hope to carry on the tradition. But thanks for ruining our almost perfect rating we appreciate that.

Huge portions, more expensive than I anticipated but the portion is worth the price. Hot and ready(not reheated) so they are flakey and delicious. In comparison to Marshalls the flavor is even/comparable on flavor but the crust is better since they are in the oven when you arrive.If you are a light eater or on a budget I would suggest splitting with someone or going to Marshalls for half the price and about 40% smaller portion sizes.

This place rocks! Portions are quite large, great value, and you can comfortably share one with two adults. My wife, our three year old, and myself will share one over dinner with some sort of vegetable side we make at home . It is a nice way to have a tasty meal on a busy day.

So jazzed on my experience with the new pasty guys! My first thought was, I wish these werent 11 dollars; however, after I went in to pick it up I was VERY impressed and will gladly pay that much.
