Groundwork Coffee is my favorite, and this location will now be my go-to cafe! The staff was so friendly and welcoming -- every single one of them! They all seemed to love working there and appreciate their customers. Customer service can make or break an experience, and this team definitely made our experience a positive one! I love the all-day breakfast burrito and the homemade sauces, and their cold brew is one of the best Ive had. Lots of outdoor seating too. Highly recommend!

Great local coffee shop to grab a drink to go or a bag of beans for later. Service is a quick walk up inside and there is patio seating available out front on Rose or on the side of the building. Ample parking for bikes and you can usually find a street spot in a car. Definitely the best & fastest non-chain coffee you can get this close to the beach. Service is always excellent. Ive seen the staff go above and beyond on multiple occasions.

I love this coffee shop, it’s my go-to. Non-pretentious, sensible location that just serves really great coffee and food (burrito bite slaps). Really spacious patio that is great for getting work done. I saw someone else say that the atmosphere here is lacking compared to other coffee shops nearby but that’s why I love you groundwork

Lots of outdoor seating and free WiFi so you can sit and do work for a while. I had a honey matcha drink that was really tasty. I’m knocking off 1 star because the vibe is just not quite as nice as some of the other coffee shops in the area.

We frequented this joint for breakfast, salads & coffee while staying in Cali for the week. It was the perfect find! The coffee was clean and pure... tasted so good along with their meals. The atmosphere is the kind of place you hang out with anyone. I saw families, people just meeting up, people doing meetings, studying, sharing tables and a couple IG stars.... nothing pretentious about the place. Loved it so much bought their awesome coffee tumblers and a T! A Must see if ever near there!

Every time we are in LA we always end up stopping here at least once. The Mexican Mocha is very good with just the right amount of cayenne. The food here is also good at any time of day. The breakfast parfait is delicious and the French toast with fresh berries and fresh whip cream is worth the trip. Has a strong organic menu and compostable coffee cups. A great scene filled with a mix of yogis, people working, lively music and dogs. Indoor and outdoor seating too.

Giving three stars because in 2020 in a city like LA, I was hella disappointed to receive my coffee and avo toast not in a mug or on a plate but in a throwaway cup and in a to go container that included plastic. I didn’t ask for any of my items to go. I wasn’t asked if I was eating in or taking away. It was just assumed that I was and that’s not ok with me nor should it be the standard these days. We have to do better for the planet than that. However, my chai was great and the avo toast was solid (just go a little lighter on the chili oil!) so taste wise, solid 4.5 stars. And I like the atmosphere of this Groundwork + the location.

Staff… awesome. Food, not so good. Out of all the new local over priced hipster coffee shops I picked this one. Got the chorizo breakfast burrito with a cold brew. Cold brew was okay, nothing special. But this burrito, garbage. Potatoes were under cooked and the “chorizo” wasn’t good at all. Over seasoned. 2 stars cause the staff was nice.

The place is very accessible and staff are friendly. They have good selections. They have a Horchata drink that is addicting. Every morning, they have newly baked loaves of banana walnut, Zucchini etc. They dont last long so I suggest to visit as early possible.

The first time I decided to try groundwork coffee i encountered terrible customer service. The attitude from the cashier was not it, it made you feel like an inconvenience to them. The horchata coffee was a 2/10 not worth the price. I tried it again today and decided to go for a matcha and it was the most disappointing matcha ever. As you can see in the picture it is 98% milk and 2% matcha powder (not even properly mixed). I am extremely sad that I spent $8 on a cup of milk with 6 ice cubes that looked a little melted. My mistake for giving this shop another chance.

This place was a lifesaver when I needed to order and pick-up a large breakfast and coffee order for a film crew. The order was submitted late the day prior to needing picked up and I was concerned that they would dismiss it as I placed it online after they closed. However, Groundwork Coffee crew on the morning of 2/14/22 (Valentines Day) was ON IT! When I called to check-in on my order in the morning they told me it was already prepared and ready for pickup. They helped me carry items to my car, and were all super sweet with positive energy at 6AM! Also, our crew LOVED the breakfast burritos! Thank you Groundwork for making my work easier! This feedback comes after a year of visits, encountering a multitude of staff, when I’m short on time and need breakfast or coffee living close to the location. Great vibes, but the coffee isnt as good as it used to be, and they charge an arm and a leg. $4 a cup, if you bring your own mug, makes Starbucks look cheap. It also said pour over when the girl rang me up, but its not, as that implies, a pour over cup of coffee. Just a big thermos with a tap like youd see at any gas station, and tastes like its been sitting for a few hours. Im bummed, because years ago, I used to come here every day, and had great previous experiences.

Coffee is my favorite; food is great. I come here to get Coffee ground for my pour over (my favorite is black & gold). They will typically customize food items, but they also have a pre-made fridge display if youre rushed. Weekends, you can expect a like out the door. Weekdays, it is a nice communal place to work, though seating is limited so dont count on an immediate seat.

Im a big fan of this space for a little work and a lotta coffee. A range of coffee is on offer, including non-dairy milks, and an awesome selection of baked goods. The gluten-free morning glory muffin is a winner. Mary is my fave friendly face to see of a morning, too.If youre working, everyone is respectful of the space, and keeps an eye out for laptops if you need to nip to the loo or grab another flat white. Theres a back space with tables that is quieter, though no natural light.Bonus: there are often dogs outside chilling while their owners sip a coffee on the outside benches.

I was brought here by a friend who is local and its a gem of a find in Venice off the beaten track. This branch has much more of a local and relaxed vibe compared to the coffee shops on Abbott Kinney Boulevard. We really wanted the Venice blend coffee but it had sold out, so I will definitely be back to try it out. The barista was ace, he gave us samples of the daily brew from Uganda, Papua New Guinea and the Witches Brew (the closest to the Venice Blend)If you love coffee you have to check it out, the vibe was chilled and as I was keen to sit outdoors there are benches or a little sheltered area just outside. The almond milk iced mocha was delicious and I am already craving it back in London. Great coffee spot and I highly recommend it.

Groundwork is the ultimate Venice neighborhood coffee shop and affords some of the best people watching opportunities. I recommend the Mexican Mocha and the fries egg sandwich. Arrive early to beat the crowd as it can get pretty crowded around brunch time. There is a seating area with additional tables and chairs behind the baristas that is far from intuitive - unless you happen to need to use the restroom and make the inadvertant discovery. It is completely worth it to take the time to sign up for their reward system - as the points rack up quickly. The baristas range from friendly to snotty and the dudes making the coffee rarely smiled or talk to me or acknowledged a thank you - so never really built up much of a rapport with anyone despite multiple visits over the course of a year. I soon learned that is pretty much par for the course in the area of the world. Worth it for the Mexican Mochas and awesome people watching.

Excellent sadly overpriced coffee and a filthy place.The tables were old and shabby and nobody cleaned them in the 2 hours we have been there. The bathroom was a mess. I have loved drinking the coffee and even used to buy the whole beans for my coffee machine. I have never attended the original café with roastery before. I used to go to Groundwork coffee in Noho which was always a great experience. After this visit in the original café is will buy another brand in future.

Ive been there twice and the food was as amazing as the coffee. The short rib hash is Superb. Its not your typical hash, but a layering of flavor; Country potatoes, spinach, short rib, poached eggs with a Harissa hollandaise sauce, with an English muffin makes for one of the best breakfasts ever.Im an Americano guy, but Ive branched out a few times and can genuinely say that the homemade cashew milk is a delight, definitely on the sweet side, but try a drink that has it in it.

Never visited the place looks like it might be a good place to get your Joe on in the AM very yuppy as the Venice location is close to Santa monica and the 18 Big Blue Bus stop is very close as well. Just visited today the coffee 4 stars the service well I cant rate it as the staff did not speak I thought I was in the laand of Zombies.

Gone downhill over the years. Tried to eat lunch there last week. The outdoor tables are no longer there. No available tables inside. Bums smoking cigarettes on front benches. Yuk! Okay spot for getting your coffee TO GO!!!!!!!

Really disappointed with ground works today.Attend here quite regularly and coffee was burnt so I asked for a new one. Same result that forced me to trash the second one in the end. Not to mention the utter look of disgust when I asked the baristas to change and they werent very polite about it. Wont be returning.
