Beautiful atmosphere and tasty foods and coffee. I had the Avocado toast with fried egg and really enjoyed it. Also tried the lily with no bacon and with the pretzel bun and it was delicious! I took the large ice Americano with just 2 shoots instead of 4 and loved it 👍Ill be back for more...Service

This place is such a joke. The food is average at best but it’s extremely overpriced. But worst of all is the staff. They are always some of the biggest morons you’ll ever encounter. My girlfriend and I stopped coming here about two years ago because every single time we ordered, they would mess the order up somehow, someway. Today I thought I would give it another chance, and what do you know? They messed up my order up two different ways. LOL. When I politely confronted the barista about correcting my order, she (he?) was extremely rude.If you like overpriced hipster douche coffee shops with a side of homeless people, then this is the place for you, otherwise, I suggest you take that same $15 it cost for a breakfast sandwich and buy enough food to make a whole family bigger and better breakfast sandwiches for an entire week.

I love coming to Groundwork Coffee! The service is exceptional, with the staff being friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The coffee itself was outstanding. Overall this is a really nice spot to study or work from. There’s many spots inside and outdoors to sit at and pretty quiet here. I couldn’t give 5 stars unfortunately because I came in at 2pm on a Friday and they were out of Avocado and Matcha which is basically 2 things I live for, but I settled for something else. Got an iced chai latte and it was really good. Pretty pricey.

It’s not that it was bad but if I’m paying $6.75 for a latte I expect it to be REALLY good and not only did the barista mess up and give me iced when I ordered hot; once he got it correct, it was nothing special…not rich with flavor; smooth flavor nor foamy; etc. (when at home I make latte’s myself and it should have been better than mine) and having had groundworks for years (used it at home) I just expected better.I’ve been to location in Venice and always had a positive coffee experience. I looked forward to this one this morning and felt it could have been better.Worth noting - the two gentlemen were super nice working this morning.

Also theres only one restroom which is terrifying and outside basically open to the public. Lastly a BIG note for the owner, for people who have celiac please separate the Gluten free food from the non gluten free because people can get sick. Gluten free products should always be separated or packaged. THANKS

Great food, good coffee in a very nice venue with outdoor seating. Its counter service but very well executed and quality. The prices are really good for the food and service. Well pulled espresso if you like drinking it straight. This place can be easy to miss as there is only one sign at the top of the building, which is an old train station. There is plenty of outdoor seating with a cover which makes it very pleasant in the full sun.

Organic coffee! Love this. Tried groundwork mocha and Mexican mocha. Both were really good. Mexican had a kick if you like a little spice in your life. Groundwork mocha was really chocolate-y and smooth.My niece tried the espresso milkshake and she said it was the best thing ever. I am regretting not buying a bag of coffee beans on the way out.Really nice train station conversion to shop.

Hands down the best Coffee shop I come to in LA! Not only are the pastries extremely fresh and the latte drinks perfectly made, but the Baristas are extremely hospitable! One barista (Hannah) in particular, serves me and I always see her multi-tasking and working hard to please everyone else in the shop! I love the coffee here but it just got a bit of an inconvenience with them not accepting cash...Im literally carrying cash all the time as its easy for me that way. I hardly ever carry any credit cards for purchases. Just that is an inconvenience for me and any patrons that rely on cash transactions over debit or credit cards...so be ready to not bring cash....other than that still love thei coffee...

I loved the aesthetics of the place. Nice quick spot for some coffee, snacks, and study. Got their cold brew poured into my canteen. I would definitely come back just to read/study. The only thing is, its by the metro station, so its mostly for people who use the metro to commute and possibly stop by for something while they wait. They do have some outlets, too, which i do like for electronics.The staff was quick, friendly, and well dressed. A big plus for first impressions for any shop.

I believe customer service is very important in an establishments and truly draws the customers to come back. I came here for the first time on May 9th at 9AM. The cashier who was wearing a yellow hat and gray sweater was very rude, was making faces, and was not helpful as we asked questions or made modifications to the order because of our 1 year old.There were also no high chairs available for our son.Don’t recommend you come here if you want to eat breakfast. We ordered a burrito, sandwich, and avocado toast and it took 30 minutes plus with only 4 people in the place. Will not be returning

I get why people like this place so much - and Id recommend it to someone looking for a good coffee shop in the area. I almost did 3 stars but there is a lot of good..The good: free, reliable wifi. Geat spot to get some work done or hang out with friends. Plenty of sitting space, inside and out. Quick service. Delicious drinks and food. Vegan options. Convenient location to local bus stop. Cool location/building.The bad: the bathroom is disgusting (you get a code on your receipt to an bathroom accessed outside, not inside, the cafe). Its also on the pricier end of coffee joints in LA.

Ya know.... The coffee is more sour than bitter. It tastes like its been on the burner too long. Or its a light blend but made WAY too strong. But not good.But hanging out there, even with a bad cup of coffee, is quite nice. Almost rustic, and very peaceful.The barrista didnt seem thrilled to be there. There were a lot of reviews mentioning the unsanitary bathroom, but I decided to overlook that and try it anyway. Well when I went they did not have a bathroom for customers *at all*. This shop is not small, they serve food, they are free standing, and have no arrangement with another business to share their toilets. So how is this okay?I cancelled my order and the employee looked confused. Well come on! Don’t you know what coffee does? What are all these people supposed to do when it hits, this is not a to-go place where everyone is picking it up in the run, people sit here for a while. Not to mention washing hands.If a shop this size doesn’t give access to a restroom, they need to shut down until they do. That’s gross. 0 stars.I went to Amp right up the street, which had coffee, pastries, and a very clean bathroom. I would recommend them, or Horror Vibes. Or any other self respecting coffee shop where you can be hygienic and not suffer a bellyache.

Cold brew oat milk agave was perfectly sweet without being overpowering and the cold brew had zero bitterness. Very smooth. The breakfast burrito was bomb. I had made my friend taste it just to share the joy. Sat outside and watched the birds and enjoy the shady breeze... very cool location. Bit expensive, paid $20 for both items. New fave pit-stop spot! My chaperone was showing me how to take the Metro and Groundworks is a much needed, as well as convenient spot to grab a cup of joe and/or a bite to eat when taking the Metro. Its smack dab in the middle of my first of two transfers. I would always think to myself as I drive by, Its in a weird spot, and thought, who would go there? Well, now I know, commuters who take the Metro because parking is a mystery.Try the HORCHATA LATTE mixed with ViETNAMESE COFFEE.Their HORCHATA COFFEE is everything I expected it to be!!! It gave me the perfect perk I needed to start my morning, and so I scooped another one on the way home to shake off how tired I was and will be on days that I have to commute via Metro.Its a good place to study. Seems to still be undiscovered, but they close early, and the surrounding area may not be so safe.The restroom is outside and youll need a code.

Edit: My nitpicky gripes have seemingly been heard! The music volumes have definitely decreased the times Ive been there and I havent had an issue with getting glass and ceramic mugs when ordering for here. Though the prices have nudged upward a bit recently (following the NoHo Arts District tend of late), I still love my time at Groundwork for both a relaxing read with a cup of coffee and caffeinated drinks and conversations with friends.Amazing spot to sit in the shade on a hot North Hollywood morning/afternoon and sip some very tasty coffee. Loses a star lately due to the seemingly near-impossible task of putting a beverage in a non-disposable cup (Im trying to reduce waste) and outdoor music volume. Even when I specify it is a for-here order, the staff is sometimes in such a groove of making their to-go orders that they forget to give me ceramic or glass. Another nitpicky detail is that the music on the patio is definitely louder than Id like to relax and read to. But since its Los Angeles in 2018, all conversations in a public place must be held at a yell. 😒That being said, this is my neighborhood coffee shop and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The setting (a converted train station) is unique and welcoming. They brought back the Vietnamese iced coffee so I believe they can remedy my two nitpicks. 😊

Excellent coffee. This had to be one of the cutest and most unique coffee shops in the city. An old train station reconfigured into an groundworks coffee.They have excellent drinks most have vegan options.They also offer several full breakfast options my favorite is the vegan breakfast Burrito. Their orange salsa is to die for.I really recommend trying it out. They have lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating has easily accessible power outlets. The WiFi is not the best, but it is more than enough for emails, web browsing and non video call, the perfect place to work alone or with a friend or partner for a cute work date.

Worst experience ever, and I even gave them a second chance. You know how they say one rotten apple can spoil the whole batch? Beware of this situation. One particular baristas treatment of me as a customer was icy, basic and unappetizing, just like the Horchata iced coffee I ordered by mistake. Fine, I am not a connoisseur, but I can tell you the $11 Avocado toast was tasty while setting back my home ownership days yet another year.So, why 2 stars?Because of a fly.I was about to sample a scone from the pastry display when I noticed a fly land on it. I pointed this out to the baristas who half heartedly banged the case, which only caused the fly to take off and land on yet another pastry.This continued for another 30 seconds before I told them to forget about it and kindly wrap up my transaction, and I got the sense from their attitude that they werent going to do anything about the fly or the pastries. Which, hey, Im not trying to get any baristas in trouble, but maybe such a fancy pants establishment should be more concerned, what with the A health rating on the door.

Coming here during these unprecedented times makes me wonder how even more amazing this place was before then. At the current state during my numerous visits, I was able to transport myself into a focus space to hone in on my Engineering work/day job thanks to the atmosphere that Groundwork Coffee Co. was able to cultivate.The workers here are kind hospitable human beings who are patient with their customers and take the time to fulfill all their requests/desires. They even look out for each other and other colleagues such as the security guard on duty.There is seating available on the inside and you need to show your vax card along with wearing a mask when not eating/drinking. There is an ample amount of seating on the outside and there are little green placards that are used to indicate if a space has been cleaned/is safe to use.The drinks that Ive ordered have all been amazing. I think my favorite one so far is the Beehive Matcha drink. So good!When Im in the area again, Ill make sure to stop by Groundwork Coffee Co.

Groundwork is quality coffee and this location is airy, high ceilinged, with an expansive outdoor seating area. The only caveat is that a 12oz. drip coffee is $3.75. A bit high, even in these times. You have to consider the percentage increase, not just the inflationary adjustment in dollars and cents when weighing value in conjunction with quality versus what youre paying as a consumer.

This is my first time stopping by for coffee there. The coffee worth it, nevertheless all the inconvenience with the parking. I had to drive two times around to finally got the spot across the street. They have really good adds, like a hemp milk and honestly, coffee tastes much better than Starbucks. I saw some people ordering vegan food, which was looking delicious. They were pretty quick even the line was like 5 people before me, I got it in less than 7 mins, super efficient. Groundwork is a cozy popular hole in the wall if youre in North Hollywood. Staff is friendly and cool, product is amazing. Today I had a beeswax matcha latte along with a choco. Chip pumpkin spice loaf slice and it is divine. Love the rustic environment that they took on using the original railroad station building that was originally there. All In all a great experience.

This is my new favorite coffee spot. The coffee is simply the best. I wake up most mornings craving this coffee. I also live 20 minutes away and find myself making the coffee commute several times a week. The outdoor space is really lovely. Be sure to get a seat next to the restored coffee roaster table! Coffee is naturally sweeter, less acidic and not as bitter as Starbucks. Atmosphere has a hippie, hippie hipster vibe. This building used to be the old train station when the red car light rail lines existed in Los Angeles. The pastries are far better here, than Starbucks. Everything seems better to me. It just does.The Music they play is better than Starbucks. Although, overall I find music in these types of places annoying. I dont understand why music is played everywhere in public these days. This is an excellent choice for specialty coffees. Ive had the Tosora and the Mint Mojito and baklava (random choice, but it looked great) and theyve all been delicious. I also appreciate the patience of the staff as I stared at the foreign menu. Added bonus; they have sugar and milk options, which is great because Im lactose intolerant so I could get almond milk. I definitely recommend this spot!

What an amazing place!! Mikey and a young man from Porterville served my wife and i with some beautiful drinks!! Very nice coffee shop in North Hollywood, right outside of the metro stop. It’s got a very large porch seating area and lots of space inside for folks to plug in their laptops and work, which is exactly what I did. Service was great, I had a chai tea and it was delicious. While I love the coffee and food and have ordered here numerous times pre-COVID, I was hoping that theyd take more protective precautions with their packaging for mobile delivery orders (Postmates). They really need to do something about their disgusting rest room. Honestly, often times I have been tempted to pee or poop in their bushes, because their rest room totally creeps me out. Is their rest room ever cleaned? Ironically, a passcode is required to get in it, and it is still nasty.Drinks are good here. Food is okay. Portions are kind of small. Dining area inside is huge because in the early 1900s and late 1800s? it used to be a train station. Parking is whacked. They have none of their own parking. They should just buy the enterprise rent a car lot adjacent to them for parking. They also did not want to purchase the public property on their lot or see about acquiring it for parking. It was recently renovated into public garden space which people have thrown their trash all over. Freakin skanks. People get on my nerves. Have some respect for your environment. For parking, people are delegated to the annoying metered parking or spaces along the street which are always full. You usually have to park a quarter mile away. Weekly vegan festival is held across the street from them.

Not much of a coffee drinker myself essentially since a vast majority of once more welcoming mom-and-pop coffee houses have all but been eradicated thanks to the monopoly that Starbucks holds over Los Angeles, themselves cold and indifferent places in-my-opinion. Im happy to have found Groundworks Coffee Co. during one of my travels thru North Hollywood: its an absolute nice change-of-pace from the usually cramp Starbucks with a large interior and equally spacious outside dining area, the staff were extremely friendly with me even as I only bought a cheap soda to quince my momentary thirst, and the prices were about the same and in several cases better / lower than Starbucks complete with nice food meals over the mini-snacks and lone breakfast sandwich of the previously mentioned. This review of mine is only my first impressions based on my first real visit there as I have passed by Groundworks on numerous occasions when taking the Orange Line Metro Buses which is located right next door to it and yet the presence of a sizable public transportation station doesnt diminish the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. I am eagerly looking forward to revisiting this coffee house again very soon.

(Also, daybreaker dope for a light bfast!)But, a word of warning for a specialty drink that may not stick around long. The marzipan latte tastes mostly of peanuts. Never actually been to a Groundwork Coffee but after an experience on the road with a driver for them, I definately will never go. We were taking a left at a light and there was oncoming traffic coming. The driver being kept honking probably because I didnt scoot into the middle of the intersection, which by the way is illegal and fineable. When the traffic cleared I took a left and who comes zooming past me? A Groundwork Coffee van. Being a business is not only all about store reputation but brand reputation and because of this impatient driver, made you 3 less sales. But also imagine he does that every intersection creating a bad reputation for the company every block or two. Bad.
