This is the 3rd time I have been here. Its the closest place I can get my homes food. Really enjoy the options. The empanadas are amazing. Spam roll was good. Wish the lumpia were thinner. Maybe adding a hot finedeni as an option. The tea was everything!

My co-worker from my previous job was from Saipan and he mentioned this restaurant to me. So I believed him and went with a friend and we loved it! Of course, I have to try their lumpia! I am Filipino and I approve!The Guahan ribs is well seasoned and so tender. My friend loved the Guam bomb (fries). My friend and I left Oside but we always come back whenever we are in town. So good!

Guahan Grill has always been a special place for my partner & me - he is half chamorro & introduced me to my beloved red rice. The PL location was a second home for us & where we often met with family for meals - so when it sadly closed, we were gutted but understood considering the state of the world at the time.We recently went to the Oceanside location and WOW. Everything about it felt like coming home - the decor, the food and the AMAZING PEYTON. She was light incarnate and brought us much needed solace; a very special soul that nourished both our bodies & souls with her great outlook on life. Thank chu Peyton & thank chu everyone at Guahan for giving these island kids such a great experience, hella grateful and cant wait to see yall soon.

Decided to stop by to try some Guam food. The food was great and the portions were decent. The size of the restaurant was pretty big for decent size parties. The waiter was great and very helpful. The only thing that bothered me was the price. With the price I paid, I would have hoped for bigger portions or some seafood.

Im not Chamorro, but have lived on Guam for 36 yrs. Whenever we come to CA to visit family, we love to introduce them to our home food. We have not yet been disappointed and the BarBQ chicken has always been a favorite.

The pork belly is to die for and the fried ribs were amazing. We wanted to order stuff we dont make at home and we will definitely be back to have more of what we dont make at home. I enjoy stopping by here whenever I want Islander food. Some people can think that its salty but Im good with it. Balance the flavors with the cucumber salad or red rice. All the dishes so far Ive eaten are yummy, flavorful and satisfying.

A staple in Oceansides island community and culture, Guahan Grill does not fail to disappoint. With a Guamanian background this long standing restaurant has expanded to two other locations in San Diego.The food stands on its own compared to other island restaurants and is distinctly Guamanian. The food can come spicy if you choose to.The red rice is a nice change of pace and as close to homemade Chamorro as you can get. The coconut based chicken dishes are fantastic!

Ive loved Guahan Grill since they originally opened in Oceanside...still do!! But I wish the food options were as they were when they originally opened. They are ALL still great choices! Ordered salmon dinner for my wife, she loved it. I ordered span with white rice and 2 eggs. Specifically asked for spam cooked crispy. Got home, checked my order, all the spam barely cooked. I recently moved to the area from Texas, lao Chamorro natibun Saipan. I was excited that there would be a number of Chamorro restaurants I could frequent when I didnt feel like cooking. The Guahan Grill is the BEST Chamorro restaurant in San Diego county. Im extremely skeptical when it comes to Chamorro food out here, because the food I had at the first two restaurants prior to this place didnt quite meet my expectations. This place is GREAT!! Everything I had was delicious! I had fried pork spare ribs, ahi poke, red rice, lumpia and empanada. They were all very tasty!! I will be going back weekly!! Next time I will try the kadun pika and hopefully they have the pork belly next time!! The service was SUPERB! I think his name was Angelo! Si Yuus Maase!!

Food was excellent in flavor. It is as close to authentic islander food you can get. The service was friendly. They make you feel as if you just walked into your families home. Very comfortable atmosphere. The service is very quick. The only mild complaint was the ribs did feel way overcooked; however, the rest of the food made up for it. The facility is very clean and organized. The restrooms are also clean and properly stocked with essentials. Cannot wait to go back.

First going in was greeted by a super nice young lady ... The place is very clean, with the novelties of Guam on the walls. The coupon was for buy one item get another free however after looking at the menu we decided to go for the platter which have a little of almost everything on the plate. I ordered pick up through door dash. I had been really wanting to try this place and it fell just a little short of my expectations. The finadene had no spice and just tasted like soy sauce and vinegar. My in laws make it way better. The rice with spam was ok, kind of lacked flavor. I want to try other things I just wont get what I ordered again. My food was ready promptly when I arrived.

Its really closer to 3.5 stars in my mind, but there are some real positives to this place. Great food in very large portions for a reasonable price. The downside is every time weve gone in it seems like theres not enough employees, and so service is usually pretty slow. Overall its got pretty good fusion food, and a lot of tasty options.

Very yummy my family goes there and we all have our favorites. Youve got to try the dessert. I think the owners mom makes a dessert called chocolate overload, or cookie overload or something. She takes an Oreo and makes her own chocolate chip cookie dough puts it around it bakes it to Perfection and serves it with vanilla ice cream its just perfect! You have to order it ahead of time because it takes 20 minutes to cook. But its worth it and it is not only shareable but if you try to eat the whole thing yourself itll make you sick :-)

I went here tonight with a group of eight people from church. Everyone had a good time.My spam fried rice was pretty un-remarkable. It was sort of mushy and it didnt have a lot of spam in it. What spam it did have was warmed up but not seared.I had to pay extra to have an egg scrambled into it. Really? Since when does fried rice not have egg in it by default?Meh.My wife had the grilled salmon. Now *that* dish was *very good*.The wait for the food to arrive, after we ordered, seemed to be long but it may have been harder since we were such a large group.Overall I was a little let down. We had been here several times ten or twelve years ago and the food was really special back then.Well give them another try sometime but I wont have the fried rice.

Overdue review. I was visiting my sister, and we were hungry and were trying to find a place to eat. We never at here before, so we thought why not give it a try. We ordered the Guam bomb, sweet and spicy wings, and Guahan noodles. They were all very tasty and flavorful. My sister was craving carne asada fries/super fries, so the Guam Bomb was a great substitution. The spicy mayo and the bbq sauce gave it that Guahan Grill taste where you know you can only taste from GG.I had a positive first experience. If you’re craving that grilled, island fusion type of food and are in the Oceanside area, I recommend Guahan Grill.

This place far exceeded my expectations. It has a reasonably priced menu, plus we got 30% cash back by using a Groupon!!! The food was so so so good. The meat was tender and savory. The rice was cooked to perfection. The flavors are like a mix of Puerto Rican food and Asian food. In fact, the red rice is almost exactly cooked like Puerto Rican rice minus the sofrito. Two of my favorite styles of cooking into one glorious meal :-). The inside was clean, staff was pleasant, and they had some good jams playing over the speakers. They had multiple TVs where you can watch sports from your table or at the bar. They had one TV with a Disney movie for the kids. Its a place for everybody. A good place for singles, a good place to take someone on a date, and a good place for the family. I recommend to anyone.

We didnt start off on a good note here--we sat for a good 10 minutes before they even gave us menus. But luckily the food was good. I had the short ribs, lumpia, stir-fry veggies, and white rice. Short ribs--very hard to cut and chew but the flavor was great. Lumpia--this was my first one, so I dont have much to compare it to, but it was pretty good. Stir-fry veggies--perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the bowl of chicken/rice. I didnt taste it, but it looked yummy and he liked it.

Went to eat yesterday at this location. So disappointed. They raised the price on everything on the menu. The food is not as tasty as before. Customer service is non-existent. We came in and the available table was dirty. We waited, and finally someone came to clean the table. Nobody greets you when you come in. We ordered our food, after a while it was served. Nobody came to check on us the whole time we were there. The two waitresses serving customers never smiled. And also noticed they clean the tables with the same dirty rag Gross!! Dont waste your money at this location. It is going downhill. My husband is from Guam and said he will not be eating their food anymore. Stay away!

This is a small place inside a little strip mall off of Oceanside Boulevard. Table seating inside for about thirty people and room at the bar for a dozen more. My wife and I went for our second time here on New Years Eve afternoon. We made it full to capacity. As we sat and ate, people came and went to keep it full the whole time.No big decor, just a few Island and Chamorro things one the walls. No fancy service, but friendly, attentive service of the kind you expect in a start-up Mom-n-Pop type joint.The food is fabulous. It is a different flavor type than anything Ive had before. I had their Beef short rib Estufao the last time and the Kadun Pika this time. Well prepared, in a sour coconut milk sauce that was fantastic. I came with a friend in the late afternoon for a light lunch. We got inside and found each and every table dirty and covered with the previous guests dishes/refuse (some of the tables remained in the same condition the entire time we were there - 25 minutes). Despite being ignored by the two servers and bartender, we chose a table and sat ourselves at one of the dirty tables... five minutes later, the bartender is still talking with her friends and texting and the servers are nowhere to be found. After bussing the table ourselves, we asked for a menu and waters.... another five minutes later and we reminded the server about the waters and menus. After looking at the menu, which was crusted in grime, we decided to order empanadas. After ten minutes, they were delivered to the table in the basket they were fried in with no plates, napkins or silverware (she just set the basket on the table) and still no water..... unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced this here, simply the first time Im saying something about it. Your food will likely be contaminated and God only knows what goes on with Catering orders... this place should be closing soon to make way for a restaurant that actually cares.

Great fusion place if you want something island-ish without having the same old L&L. Super good spam musubi, they put this amazing sauce inside along with this really good crunchy cucumber, Ive never had musubi like it. Hands-down one of my favorites is definitely the Guam Bomb; SO good to share with a big group of people (or take the rest of it home for yourself... lmao). I havent had a bad dish here, & the service is really good. Nice low-key location, decent amount of parking & good for families. Definitely recommend if youre in the area.

Guahan Grill offers fusion Guamanian food which is different than the usual around here. The beef short ribs has a good BBQ flavor. The rice is tasty and empanada hot. Fried rice with over easy eggs on top and Portuguese sausage comforting. The lumpias were average. Large portions on heavy plates. Local beers on a rotating tap menu. Limited but from well respected breweries. Very friendly and attentive staff. Parking is shared in a strip mall location.

One of the best places to eat in Oceanside.The meat is always tender and flavorful. I always get the maga lahi so that I wont have to decide which meat plate to get. They have a selection of beers on tap and they do have some tvs so it could be a place to hang out and catch a game. Their kelaguen is excellent as well. The real winner also is the finadene sauce. I can just order rice and use that as a topping and Ill be set.Couple of things I dislike. Im sad they got rid of the short rib estufao. I really liked that. And they changed the empanada. Its too doughy now unlike before where it was a little crunchy. I think they might be adding more dough and less meat. But whatever, still not enough to prevent me from giving full marks.

My dad is Guamanian so Ive been eating this stuff my whole life and Guahan is doing it right. Their red rice taste like my grandmas and all of their meats taste like my dad cooked it at home. Their menu is vast and offers something for everything. Go for the chicken kelaguen, empanadas, red rice and spare ribs. Or better yet, get the Maga Lahi Special and you can taste a bit of everything. The owners are family friends and theyre warm and welcoming to everyone who walks in. These guys are a great addition to Oceanside!

Guahan Grill is a family run restaurant that has been in business for about 5 years now. They serve Chamorro Cuisine which comes from the Mariana Islands. These Islands include the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam, where the owner’s family is from. It is located in the IHOP shopping center at 4259 Oceanside Blvd in Oceanside.Chamorro cuisine has many influence ranging from Spanish and Filipino, which can be seen in the empanadas and Lumpia, to American influences like spam which was introduced to the Islands during WW2.What I had....Lumpia ~ Ground beef, sautéed onions, cabbage, carrots, seasoning and soy sauce.Note ~ My brother in-laws family is Filipino, so we have home-made lumpia at every holiday and family occasion. This is the best non-family lumpia I have tasted.Combo plate ~ Fried pork ribs, Chicken kelaguen, red rice, empanada, and stir fried vegetables.Note ~ Chicken Kelaguen is a Chamorro national dish, it is chopped barbecue chicken mixed with lemon, green onions and hot pepper. The best way I can describe it is the Chamorro version of Larb, but with a more citrus base instead of mint….think of if ceviche and larb had a baby.Red rice is also a classic Chamorro dish, it is not like Spanish rice which gets the red color through tomato being added. It has a slightly nutty flavor.If you want something a little different at a good price and large portions for what you pay, I would check them out.

Guahan Grill is the closest thing to home. As Guam is over 5,000 miles by plane from San Diego, Guahan Grill delivers and makes you feel like you are actually eating food there. One place that comes to mind is Wednesdays at Paseo (i.e., Guam style farmers market). Authentic and full of flavor. Their meats are marinated very well and are ever so tender. Their pork spare ribs falls off the bones good. Love how they have their cucumber salad a bit different from the style it usually is prepared back home but nonetheless flavor again is intact. Hands down best restaurant that showcases Guam style food.
