Omg!!! I’m from Guadalajara so this place hit home for me (literally). From the pictures on the wall, the small but intricate menu to the flavor of the food this place is an ode to GDL🌟My family and I all got the torta ahogada ( even my little siblings) and we all loved it. The birote, the salsa and the carnitas all taste authentic. We also had the tacos dorados and just too good!! I will have to go back to try the birria ramen!It’s really an amazing place. The food did take a minute to come out but it’s only understandable because of the preparation of the dish and the deliciousness that they serve.

Took the family for a visit on a Monday evening. Service was friendly and patient as we explored the menu. They totally simplified things for the kids and worked with us through our questions.Food was yummy. Loved the green sauce but the pricing was a bit high for my liking. Kids loved their French fries.Venue was more spacious than I expected and there were a couple tables that easily fit 6-8 people if your in a group. There is a small TV in corner they play music on, so if you want it quieter, don’t sit near it.Overall, I might go back and give another item or two on the menu try but the wife and kids felt like it was good, but not great.

WOW!!! The meats are tender and full of authentic flavors, the food is amazing! I cant believe I have been driving past this place and never knew it was here. The goat crispy taco was the best goat I have ever had, the lengua was tender and delicious, and the lamb tacos were awesome. Each had its own unique flavor profile, I cant say enough about the quality of food here. Love their tacos!!!! Will be back!

Finally a good authentic mexican place! HIGHLY recommend the birria, either goat or beef they are delicious! The tostadas are super crunchy and the queso tacos are so flavorful. Ill definitely be coming back!

See the reason in paragraph below for better understanding.Served time: We waited 50mins for our food.Ambience: Family orientated with latino/Mexican culture.Parking: Plenty in parking lotCleanliness: Clean and presentableMy first time here, I saw it had a high rating and decided to take the whole family (4) to try it out on Sunday mid-day lunch.There was a line and the place was quite full. The lady at the register I believe was the shift lead was very nice and explained to us we could leave an open account to order more if we wanted more. I thought that was cool, open check is not seen much in smaller restaurants. They serve alcohol so I think that would be good if I came back with friends.We ordered plain quesabirrias for kids and a total of 5 tacos for the adults. To put it nicely the family was so upset to wait so long that I am sure they are going to roast me later. When paying I inquired as to if this is the normal wait times. I guess two people called out and when they do this happens. I suggest cutting your losses because the food was great but this experience will be hard for me to convince the family to come back. I saw others wrote reviews on the same issue, please fix that hate to see a bad reputation to a great place.Suggestion: If you are behind let the customers know about the wait time at the register. This will make a big difference in angry reviews.Ensure chips are served immediately. I had to ask for some to hold us over at the 25 mins mark.I do recommend this place and hope all who go have a great experience the food is delicious.

Best birria I’ve ever had. I probably eat here once a week, and the homemade corn tortillas have changed my life. This place is easy to miss, but do yourself a favor and try it out.

Went in for the first time and the interior is so cool pictures and art work on the wall were impressive. Its also very clean.The lady at the register was sweet and helpful.My husband had tortas ahogadas and I had the birria tacos. Drinks**a modelo and agua Fresca de jamaica. The food was just ok nothing special but I will give it one more try to see what else on the menu may be good.

Here is one most authentic Mexican food, very freshly made and super clean. The far best is their Birria stew and Mexican Ramen beef soup. Very pleasant atmosphere. Just a little loud on the TV music. Other than that its far better than other restaurant in the area.

Delicious food, Guadalajara style. Ive been there twice now. Had the quesobirria and a torta. Both were very good. The horchata tasted homemade, not from a mix. I look forward to eating there again. Thanks!

The food is really good. The service was decent but not excellent. We were in a group of 5 and the food did not all come out at the same time. Also, I asked for soda water and was brought sparkling water in a bottle that cost extra. Maybe its just me, but usually when Ive ordered soda water it is free. The prices seemed high for the type of food offered. But it did taste good! The atmosphere was good, but after we left I heard a man at a nearby table say Thank goodness we were gone. Ouch! I would not describe us as being loud at all. So because of the service and that mans attitude, I do not think well be back.

The queso tacos and fries were very tasty. We had birria, asada, adobada and cabeza. The horchata was very watery so I wouldnt recommend that. We also had champurado and it was tasty. It takes a bit for the food to come out but its worth the wait for the fresh made tortillas.

Maybe because Im not Hispanic looking (Im half Mexican but dont look it) I was ignored when I first walked in. When someone finally approached me, I explained to them it was my first time there. She was rude and unwelcoming. I wish I had gotten her name now. Then some people walked in AFTER me, and she started speaking Spanish and was acting overtly friendly to them. At this point, I walked out. I can spend my hard earned money someplace else where its appreciated. Ill never go back and have told several friends/people of my experience there, and they have agreed with me. Now, theres a handful of us that boycott that place!

We stumbled here after our trip to Oceanside and we were AMAZED at the quality of the food. Authentic and DELICIOUS! Had the Carne En Su Jugo with CORN Tortillas!!! It was out of this world!!! Wish there was one of these in my hometown!!! You will not be disappointed.

Very delicious. I got the torta ahogada. It came with cheese, jalapeños,onions,fresh cooked beans from the cooking pot and the meat I chose was GOAT. I highly recommend this establishment because it’s as close as authentic Mexican food around here . Try their habanero sauce it’s the orange one just enough kick to add more flavor to your tacos or food BONUS HAND MADE TORTILLAS

Probably the best tacos in Oside. Quality and flavor of the meat is excellent and the tortillas are unique/delicious.There isnt too much of a size difference between the street tacos and regular tacos. Same ingredients too. So it makes more sense just to order the street version.Decent and large Michelada. Ill definitely be going back!

The food was a Lil pricey. They were a Lil slow in serving plus the torta was bread than meat. The meat was a small portion compared to the bread. Anyhow I will try something else next time.

WOW!!! First time here this Saturday afternoon. Clean, bathroom clean, spacious seating inside and out, easy-to-read menu, and a friendly female staff today. I was going to order a couple tacos but decided on the Birria combination to go. WOW!!! It was delicious!!! Everything must have been made from scratch that day!!! The birria, rice, beans, corn tortillas, consommé with a little baggie of chopped cilantro, onions, and a half a lime. The salsa definitely had a kick for my Japanese-Hawaiian palate. I will definitely drive the extra mile for this unique-tasting food. Ichii ban!!! Very ono!!!This is a great little restaurant!!! It should always be packed with customers. I would have never known it existed if it weren’t for scrolling thru Google. Hidden gem!!!

I wont go into much detail. Its overpriced food and the service is terrible. Waited more than one hour to get a small order. And no one ever apologized for taking a long time to give me my food. They kept taking orders out for people that got there after me. Food is OK but not worth waiting that long for 6 tacos lol they need to improve their attitudes as well. And not just throw food there. And I even tiped them . Im not going back to this place. Will stick to either Franciscos deli or another place across from this spot. On mission ave which serves birria as well

This place was really food when they first opened. We told lots of friends to try it. Since then I feel its been slowly changing. This last time the meat was tough and dry as if it was reheated from yesterday (not saying they did) We got car e asada tacos, langua tacos, tacos de cabeza,, taco de birria (chivo)and tacos dorados de frijol. Have to say the one that tasted good was the bean hard tacos (taco de frijol). Was sad to be home we live 3 minutes from here and be disappointed 😞

I took me a bit too long to stop by this place to check it out. Some might say is a bit over priced and maybe needs a little more charm but who cares when the food is delicious?! 😋. I had the adobada mulita and the asada quesataco and both were absolutely delicious with the homemade tortillas! Love the salsas too! I definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back! Oh btw, didn’t have anything as delicious in Guadalajara last year.

^_^ Sooooo delicious! For many years vietnamese pho used to be my go-to indulgence in culinary deliciousness. Now the honor has been overtaken by the mouth pleasing yummy yummy goodness of Guanatos City. Every dish is its own near sexual experience of flavor that you never want to end. Never before have I been determined to want to make my way through a restaurants entire menu. My only fear in life is if I ever have to move too far away from this gem of a place. ^_^

The food and service at Guanatos was great! Went there to take my Mom for her birthday dinner (total of 12 of us). Its a bit small inside with a capacity of maybe 30 with a couple of tables outside to accommodate maybe another 8 heads, but nonetheless, they were very accommodating. Our party ordered carne asada quesadillas, carne asada fries, menudo, street style tacos (carne asada, lengua(tongue), cabeza (head), papa (potato), and beans), and a lengua (tongue) burrito. To drink we had only aguas (flavored waters) of Pina, Jamaica, and Horchata. Horchata seemed to be the most popular, but they were all delicious. This place hand makes their corn tortillas and they tasted authentic and delicious. Prices are reasonable and not much more than your typical mexican fast food spot.

These might be the best tacos I have EVER had in the US. I cannot believe how yummy their homemasde tortillas are!! I originally ordered 3 Carne Asada Tacos but the nice lady suggested I get the slow cooked beef instead. I HIGHLY recommend those tacos!! I got 2 Carne Asada and 2 of the slow cooked beef and I was absolutely stuffed. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

This was by far the best authentic Mexican from central Mexico I have had I. Recent memory. This took me back to downtown Guadalajara! The Carne en su jugo was absolutely to die for, and the hot sauce was so flavorful and lit me up! Must stop if your in the area, but dont think it is the California twist on Mexican food, authentic all the way.

I had the mulitas (both asada and birria). Wow, really tasty. The corn tortillas they use are really thick, which was a pleasant surprise for me. Next time, will have to try an authentic entree from Guadalajara, the torta ahogada. Last thing, Jackie was a delightful person to deal with.

A very nice place, some of the food we ordered was very tasty. The prices are good. The Micheladas are not very good, they taste a lot like Chinese sauce, they dont have almost Clamato, nor are the Cabeza tacos, they arent very good either. The sauces are very rich. Good service! Lets say I give them an 8, from 1 to 10⭐
