Gui was a first time Chinese style BBQ experience for me. I came with people who have been here already so I let them take the lead on ordering, but ordering is pretty simple and you just mark all the items you want, like at Din Tai Fung.First off, the appetizers and dishes that are not on the grill:* Spicy Pork Trotters: if you like pigs feet and spicy flavoring, get this - I really enjoyed this. The fatty/collagen texture was chewy and soft, and the spice made this a great dish.* Cucumber Salad, Pig Ears Salad, Jelly Noodle with Chili Sauce - these cold appetizers were all so yummy and would recommend. The BBQ items were amazing. Here are some of my highlights: signature chicken wings, chicken gizzards, jumbo shrimp, premium beef, and okra. Please keep in mind though that everything comes marinated in that spice, so make sure youre okay with that constant taste/spice. I enjoyed it for sure, and next time I may want to order a hot pot or other dishes that doesnt have the spice, just to break it up and give my mouth a break haha. I would come back again for sure and do recommend Gui!

The skewers were very good but the seasoning is same for everything. You have a choice between mild or spicy. The Dan Dan noodles had a strange “perfumy” smell and taste, we took a bite but couldn’t continue to eat it. I think this place is a good drinking environment while enjoying the skewers.

This place in Irvine is a good pick for BBQ. While it might not be the absolute best, it’s a solid option around town. The meat tastes fine, and overall, it’s a decent spot for a night out.

Great food! The menu is incredibly large for a skewers restaurant. We ordered appetizers (shredded potato salad, cucumber salad, jellyfish salad, pig ear salad) and skewers (lamb, beef tendon, beef aorta, chicken cartilage, chicken heart, pig intestine) and a few grilled vegetables (eggplant, chives, potatoes). The skewers are seasoned with the same spice (which I can see may become boring after a few skewers) but Id say its extremely flavourful - cumin, Chinese spice, fennel are the ones that I can tell.In terms of heat, youre given the option for mild, medium, and spicy. Theres no spice shaker on the table to add extra heat if you want additional spice.Price wise came to around $50/per person, but a reasonable meal can be had for $30/pp.

It was a order by the food delivery service. I have been to other locations before; the meat quality of the skewers is good and the spice level is mild. Though I hope they could have kept it warmer, nothing to complain:)

Great to have a Chinese BBQ place in Irvine, tried it out with my friend. The place is clean and well decorated. We spend around 100 dollars for this meal. The whole dining experience is great. Nice employees, sweet services. However, cause I am a all time picky person, the BBQ bun is too thick and not crunchy at all. The deep fried chicken skin is delicious but come in a ice cold plate. However, Their BBQ chive and picked chicken feet are highly recommended! And if you love spicy food, remember to ask for extra spicy here😀

This is my go-to restaurant for a solid meal/ a treat (ended up going twice a week lol). The food is top-notch. Service is always great (they are not the type to check on you during a meal, but they are attentive, friendly, and professional). Alcohol is reasonably priced. It’s always packed even on weekdays, plus it opens late. Definitely recommend!

Ordered lamb belly skewer, lamb skewer, beef tongue, jumbo shrimp, and signature wings for BBQ items. The skewers are pre-cooked, though you still can use the grill to warm up the food. Recommend to try it out. The Fried Crab Typhoon Shelter is also a must try! It was one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite dishes in Hong Kong.
