This is the perfect spot for some authentic chinese food. The service was quick, barely a few minutes. The food was also affordable with a large portion size. I got the roasted pork noodles which had crispy cuts of pork, veggies, and plenty of noodles. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

I visited in the morning. Not too busy. Prompt service. Ordered breakfast congee and BBQ combo. The food was great. The duck and roast pork were moist. Almost melt in mouth. Good texture and flavor.

I like the food but the quality consistency is questionable. Sometimes I got the good pieces and sometimes I got the parts that too fat or bony and I ended up throwing away. Even though Im always polite, leave a tip and go here often, it did not help my case. One time they asked me to pay extra to get the good pieces (that I normally get), its annoying but ok. The worst is when I buy food to go, find out I got bad pieces later and have no chance to switch. The price is a higher than the store next door but their 2 bbq combination is a good deal.

Ordered wonton with duck, black mushroom rice noodle and shrimp rice noodle.Good Chinese not fancy comfort food.12.95 wonton soup with duck. The wonton are perfect with pork and crunchy shrimp. There are 10 wontons in the bowl with two stalks of green choy sum veggie in a delicious broth. The dish came with 6 sliced pieces of house roasted duck that was good. 5 stars for this dish. YUMMY!6.95 shrimp rice noodle rice noodle was prepared perfectly slippery smooth rice noodle with one shrimp in each section, dressed with soy sauce and sesame seed oil. Two rice noodle rolls cut in 3 each. 5 stars for the rice noodle but 3 stars for the filling because the shrimp was overcooked and chewy. The shrimp wasnt as good as in the wonton.5.95 black mushroom and chives rice noodle: rice noodle itself was again perfect. I was expecting shitake mushrooms when I read black mushroom but the chef used HALF of a canned straw mushroom in each rice noodle section. I was disappointed in this dish as something is missing in the seasoning. The rice noodle is good. Fillings were not up to my expectations.Service is pretty quick after you order.Tables are too close together for my comfort and not 6 apart. Waitress tends to space people apart when it is less crowded.Waitress never came by to refill the complimentary tea, so you only get one cup of tea if you dont ask for it.Atmosphere is lacking but the food is really good and reasonably priced.A bathroom exists in the Plaza that one have asks the Waitress for a key. So you need to go outside of the restaurant to do that.I would rather do take out here and eat in the comfort of my own home.

They have a pretty good selection of entrees to choose from. The proteins on display are always ready to be put over rice and served to you. Many of the entrees also come with vegetables on the side as well.Beef chow fun was tasty, but could have used a tad more soy sauce. Maybe a bit more meat as well. Id come here again. The service was a little better than average. The space was small enough that if you raised your hand or tried to get the staffs attention, someone would see you.The line can be a bit long, but it moves along. Though the lunch hour is understandably longer.

Surprised by extensive menu, not just the traditional BBQ roast items. Complementary tea, takes credit card, open later than other Oakland Chinatown restaurants, fast service, good for breakfasts start 8am, lunch special and dinner combination (3 entree special price, including soup, good for family)

I would have given this place 5 stars but -1 star for poor customer service. I understand that they are a busy and small restaurant but the newer people who work here are a little aggressive and rude. Ive been going to this place since I was a child and sometimes with the whole family and only ever order two things, either the won ton noodle soup or the roast duck over rice. The service we received back then was a little above average as we were kind of regulars. And then another -1 star because the food isnt what it used to be. Today, I ordered the won ton noodle soup (not pictured because I was too hungry)hungry, and it somewhat tasted different today. It was still good but seemed rushed. Then, if you look at the roast duck over rice photo, the duck is a little burnt/over cooked and looks dry. I think because theyre rushing customers, theyre not putting giving quality food anymore. But like I said, Ive been going here as a child and this will always give me that nostalgic feeling.

Theres really no arguing the bay area is THE place to get the best Chinese food around in the US. However, as Ive grown up, SF Chinatown has become too expensive and touristy to go for food whenever Im around, so I opted to come here in Oaklands Chinatown to take some friends (with very low exposure levels to Chinese food) for some good, old-fashioned Cantonese grub. This place was legit. The service was merely adequate. There wasnt even a bathroom to be dirty. But the food was cheap(for the bay), had relatively large portions, but most importantly, tasted absolutely fantastic. Its unpretentious and unassuming, just as it should be. From what we had, Id highly recommend getting a half duck and the beef chow fun. Everything else was still very, very good, but those were definitely the standouts amongst all the other places Ive been to in the bay.

My freaking favorite Chinese restaurant in the East Bay!Get the porridge with Chinese donut. Sprinkle some white pepper. Great for rainy cold days where you just need some comfort food. Noodle soups here are great for that too.Rice rolls are hand made! I prefer the cilantro one.

This place may not be the cleanest buuuut youre coming here for the food! Bwahaha. So dont come here if you get grossed out with things like that. 😬 I came here to snack on some rice rolls cause I love them!- Duck: Needs more duck! There were also chopped bones thrown in. Boo. But so good!- Shrimp: Needs more shrimp! There were only 4. :(- Dried Shrimp: Yum.- BBQ Pork and Cilantro: My favorite!- Chili Oil: its not spicy but more so for flavor I guess. Stir it well or youll scoop up the salt and itll make your food super salty.Ill keep coming back when Im in the area and may even try the egg noodles next time, even after seeing a large pile of noodles just chillin on a table waiting to be put away haha.
