Location is easy to spot but the parking at this place can be packed depending on the day. My party was seated immediately which was nice, although they only give you one menu to share. The food quality is amazing, and very filling. I am pretty sure my wife got the wrong meat for her grill. Also the side condiments were pretty dirty as well as our metal spatula.Other than that, their happy hour is definitely worth the price. I will be coming back for more.

We highly recommend this restaurant located in Victoria Gardens. Gyu-kaku Japanese BBQ is very tasty and flavorful. Do you also get to cook the meat in front of you, they do have different options as far as ordering like à la cart or multiple meats for a certain price. Make sure you come with a lot of time on your hands, because the wait time typically is around 90 minutes on the weekend. When you’re here in Victoria Gardens, I really recommend this restaurant to you and your family.

The place is good but the service is horrible. The food is tasty, but after a while, things start to get salty. They dont have too many sides, which I dont like because eating just meat gets boring. The service was really slow, and they didnt give us all the meat we ordered, so we had to cancel the order because we were already full from waiting so long, and it wasnt even a time where it was busy.

If you’re going on a Friday or Saturday night I recommend you make a reservation. It can get pretty busy and you’ll be waiting over 40 minutes. It’s definitely worth the wait though. Very delicious. Three different levels of food packages, that have great food options. Everything is good. Service is great, atmosphere is great. It can accommodate for large groups just make sure you have reservations!

You know, Im not too sure about this spot. We were given dirty sparkling wine glasses. We were also given plastic cutlery to use. Supposedly, they were all being used at the time. Ive never experienced that, and the restaurant wasnt busy. The server gave us to-go packs and said, as soon as people are done eating we can wash some. Not a good experience. Plus, the restaurant seems unclean. The seats and the table felt and looked greasy.

The prices in red on the menu.The combo is nice for new customers.If you just want meat and a filling sideGet meat and rice or cabbage salad a good balance. Skip the edemame and dumplings here.Dont get the NY strip cut of beef! I do recommend going there on less busy days and maybe consider getting lunch. The place seem like it would be pack. As for the food it definitely worth the price. We havent been here in over five years. The food was ok however the service sucked. The waiter brought out two of our meats with our check. We had completely forgot about the other meats we ordered.Their drinks were good food was ok we enjoyed the smores.I understand all of the staffing issues but maby they shouldnt over book the restaurant. FYI this place doesnt have sushi it only has fried rice with spicy tuna on top.

Delicious food - so fresh and tasty!!! Impressive menu (tons of vegetarian options and different drinks). The service was awesome too. We had to wait for 30 minutes for a table with a grill. So reserve ahead if you want a grill otherwise you can just show up.

One of my favorite restaurants of all time! Staff is always on it! Food is AMAZING! Great variety of menu options and the meat is quality! I highly suggest upgrading the rice to beef sukiyaki friend rice, it’s a must! Fried dumplings are one of the best I have ever had! I try to make it here once a month!

Make sure when you come here you make a reservation through opentable or their website if you want to get a seat. The meats are your best choices here. Some of the other dishes have good but mild flavour. The meat that you cook in front of you is what theyre best known for. Some dishes like the shrimp might be a bit expensive for $2 a piece. Servers are friendly, although the service can be inconsistent. Sometimes they miss doing temperature checks for people being seated. Sometimes they dont bring your plates and chopsticks when you sit. But the place is popular and lines can be long during popular times. Dont know why, but the walls inside look run down. Maybe its part of the ambiance?

I think that everyone should know that the service at this place is usually towards the lower end, however, I had the best restaurant service in my life with Tim. I was seated behind the hostess stand against the kitchen wall and he just took care to a level which made me have to write this cause I cant appreciate him enough. Some meats are more fatty than others so the servers make sure to distribute meats out over a length of time to ensure people do not start small fires, and usually this results in awkward timing with the food coming out or all of the food at once and zero space on the table. Tim on the other hand had our food perfectly timed and was like a hawk. When I took my meat off the grill he had a brand new plate ready to cook. I could not see a empty or used plate on the table longer than maybe a minute before Tim cleared it off. It was a level of above and beyond that cannot go unspoken about.

The Bartender was super chill but our food took over an hour to be served and one of our dishes was given to someone else and that took another 20 minutes to arrive . We usually get the server Daniel and he is fast and gives great service. You also have to know how to order AYCE: when one dish is served (and you need to cook it still), order the next so it keeps on coming! The atmosphere is hyped and smoke level highly depends on when you come during their cleaning cycle. The meats are tender and thin, you can really get a good value for the all you can eat. The side dishes are alright but the garlic rice and bulgogi rice are good. If you want to, you can order enough balance between vegetables and meat.

It was my first time at a spot like this where youre given the option to cook your own food and its not difficult, the waitress gives you a brief rundown of how long to cook each meat. The spicy pork Ramen is also a good choice. Highly recommend

Been here a few times and all I can say for my last visit taking family here is just terrible. Horrible service, music so loud you had to yell to talk and hear. Servers that just didn’t care. Food came out so slow we ate and waited 15 minutes between dishes. They forgot the vegetables, beverages refills. after asking they said they would be right up . The vegetable went to the incorrect table . Refill didn’t happen until I had to get another server. I was told they would take the vegetable off the bill as that would make it right. I let the manager on duty know and the lady at the door know how bad this experience was. Def ears is what that became. I went to the company website to let them know my concerns but mysteriously I wasn’t able to submit the customer service concerns. If you go here, check it first. If the music is loud and it seems off to you. choose another place . A lot of restaurants around doing a better job that you can spend you dollars at.

The food is delicious. My fave is the beef bibimbap, simple but tasty. While waiting for our food at the bar, I noticed how grimey and nasty the bar area is and I’m struggling to return! The overhanging fluorescent light above the bar is filled with spiders, flies, gnats… basically anything that flies and attracts to light. There’s built up grease, dirt and grime in the corners and on the machines. Flies and gnats were swarming around. Since I noticed this, I have not wanted to return. Maybe I’ll just be a take out customer?

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would, The food was honestly amazing. All the meat and seafood tasted so fresh. The food came out very fast even though they were super busy in the drinks were nice and strong. But the highlight of us going there was our server Christina. She went above and beyond for us, she helped me modify my drink to my liking and asked other servers to make sure she recommended the strongest drink for my husband. She did an amazing job explaining different items to us and was just so sweet. We will be coming back for her.

The food was 👍 great . Expensive. Keep that in mind if you are getting all you can eat. And be aware if one person is getting all you can eat (there are 3 different groups per all you can eat items.)and everyone else is getting all you can eat also, YOU ALL HAVE TO GET THE SAME ALL YOU CAN EAT GROUP. They will not let each of you get a different all you can eat group. Just be aware of that. But you can order of a regular menu to though. Still a good place for Japanese food.

I am quite shocked that neither the health department nor the landlord have shut this restaurant down... It is absolutely filthy and never maintained and it keeps going downhill year after year after year... I was considering opening five units of this franchise in Metro Phoenix... And now I am extremely happy that I never did. Gyu Kaku, what is wrong with you? You need to change, you need to improve, and you need to get better because this is just absolutely unacceptable.

Food was good, service was ok. Several times had to ask waiter to take away plates. Restroom, cleanliness of the floors, walls very run down. Made me question the quality of the kitchen. Came to celebrate a birthday but felt just a bland experience. Just had a difficult time enjoying the food with all the small details in the upkeep of the facility. I would not return willingly. Four minutes late to our lunch reservation on a Sunday due to unexpected traffic on the freeway and we were rudely told by the female receptionist that our reservation was canceled. She claimed that “they called you 15 minutes earlier and there’s no record of any calls from this establishment on my phone. Excellent across the board. Closer to a 4.5 instead of 4.I mainly come here for their awesome lunch and happy hour deals. Lots of delicious and interesting little add-ons and upgrades to the lunch specials. No matter what meats you get it will be good but Id suggest trying the duck breast and kalbi. Both are well worth the few dollars extra. The smores are a really fun way to wrap up your meal. Our server is usually very nice and fairly attentive.Now the few drawbacks. Even with the lunch deals its still a bit pricey if you go wild on upgrades. Its definitely worth it but expect to pay around $60-70 for two if you eat a lot. There are also some consistency issues in the piece size on some of the marinaded meat. You will have one or two solid large slices and the rest will just be small bits. This isnt a huge flaw just me being a bit critical.All in all, try this place. Its fun and delicious.

Service very slow in the bar tonight. Tables had not been wiped down and menus sticky. I look for cleanliness in a restaurant as it usually reflects how the kitchen is. It wasnt very busy with customers, and I saw a ton of staff but it still took about 10 minutes before our server took our order. The Fried rice with spicy tuna was very bad. It was so oily and tasted like it was old oil that they fried it in. We only could take one bite and needed to return and we were told to tell our server who disappeared somewhere. Not a place I would return to.

The wait time was 30 mins for a table, we sat at the bar and waited about 40 mins until we got up to ask. They said it would be about another 10 mins. We sat and waited for another 15 mins and never got called. Ok, truth is food and options depend on how much you are willing to spend. With that said, we got the ultimate all you can eat ($55 a person). Our waiter, who was awesome but cant remember his name, was a great help and helped tremendously on everything. I had to make sure to leave a hefty tip for him. Drinks menu needs to be a little more varying, I prefer whiskey which they only had two different selections. For beer pitchers they have only Bud Light and Kirin. Overall good experience eat what you are able because they warn you, anything left behind and not eaten will be surcharged.

A couple of months ago my wife and I took our son there for his birthday.food was great, service was excellent BUT the reason I gave 1 star is because yesterday on my wifes bank statement it says it was charged $131.00 yesterday afternoon from this place. All day yesterday and today Ive been calling them to find out what happened and the phone just keeps ringing then it hangs up. Idk if one of their employees stole our card number and reused it months later or what happened. I called to find out but no one answered the phone.

Terrible! I really been wondering who the general manager is. Went for take out and the hostess had no idea what was on the menu and kept looking like a deer in headlights. No bartender. This is honestly my favorite restaurant to go to. It brings out the best in terms of its versatility! Meaning its the perfect date night with the wife and a great family outing. We still waited 25 minutes to be seated but the wait time was 1 hour and 45 minutes without reservations. I usually never come to restaurants on Saturdays since most places are way too packed and understaffed and wont give great service. The thing that really rubs me though is the fact that the management at this particular location wont allow anyone to make reservations or put their name on the list over the phone. Went for Valentines with my girlfriend and got the happy hour special. Came with 4 different appetizers, about 5 or 6 different meats and a dessert and got an extra dessert all for only 52 bucks. Couldnt even finish all the food. Would definitely go again.

Very bad service. Sat for over an hour waiting, while other people that came in after us were seated right away . I asked the hostess about our table and with attitude she told us, she forgot to write my name down but we could go sit at the bar . So we left, went to the yard House and had a great time ! So do your self a favor ...Avoid this place and go to THE YARD HOUSE !

This place is okay, for a first time lunch meeting I dont recommend. I didnt like the open flame grilling and the meat they give you is sliced so thinly that if youre not careful it Burns! The server didnt really explain how it works and what our meal options were. I prefer Korean BBQ because I know I can talk for a while and my food wont be chard.

Weve been here several times for happy hour and and for the all you can eat dinner. The happy hour is definitely the better deal. Happy Hour price for beer is AMAZING. Order the Sukiyaki Bibimbap and a Sapporo and youre set.

Went here a year ago and now being double charged. Called and the manager said their credit card system didn’t collect for some odd months. That makes no sense when I was here a year ago and have the same exact charge that just double charged me. No one answers the phone

Great happy hour prices. Some good deals on the menu. Everything tastes great, but if you dont bundle stuff you might end up with a bigger bill. Always check deals and specials. Bibimbaps are a great deal, good amount of food for the price. Its basically a hot stone bowl with rice and meat and sauces all mixed in front of you. Keeps cooking as you eat. A really good value, highly recommended. Pitchers of Sapporo on happy hour are bomb also. Pretty ent friendly.

I came here with a couple of friends on a Saturday for lunch. Our server was nice but the service was very slow even though it was not that busy. Everything is a la carte & portions is quite small so the end result can be over priced. We dont mind paying for a good quality food but it was a turned off that the table was a bit sticky & the restroom was not clean. I have not been back since then in their Rancho Cucamonga location. I will check out their other location in the future.

I have been to this location several times and I have a great experience every time! The service is pretty attentive and knowledgeable about cooking times for the meat/vegetables. Depending on how hungry my party and I are, we will order from the AYCE menu or A La Carte. They also offer great packages for smaller parties! On to the food! Im a creature of habit and like to order the same items. If Im here, Ill usually get the White Miso Pork Belly, Zucchini, and any of the beef cuts. Ill ask for sliced garlic and now that Ive discovered they have it here.. sesame oil! I love how they thinly shave their sliced garlic, too! This location was recently remodeled. The tables and bar area have a more modern feel, as opposed from before. I recommend making a reservation and also downloading their app for free food!

Very disorganized, slow. In the middle of meal had to turn off grill because it was to smoky inside. Then forgot to turn it back on. It was a birthday celebration, and it was an unpleasant dining experience. Had to wait a long time, 2 items never came and 1 came at the end of meal. Couldnt get them to pick up the check. We celebrated a birthday, and it was the birthday boy’s choice to eat at Gyu-Kaku. My husband, daughter, and I had not been there before. The restaurant was too warm and uncomfortable, the table top felt sticky, the eating dish/plate for each individual was poorly designed and used throughout the meal (never replaced), and the food portions were extremely small, especially for the price. The servers appeared rushed, slow to fill drinks or return to make sure all was well. The server spilled a bowl of miso soup down my husband’s leg and there was no offer of even a complimentary soda. Finally, the price of the meal was outrageous, especially for the quality of the food. I will never return and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are too many good restaurants for $150/four people.

I was looking forward to this initial visit, as my family members are Japanese natives and there isnt much in the choice of Japanese food in the area. I personally feel that 3 stars is already generous, please read below.Admittedly, I was quite disappointed in the visit. We had a reservation on Sunday @ 6pm, which is quite a busy time. We were seated quickly, waters were brought right away, and the idea of the Japanese grill was explained, and we put in our first order.35 minutes in, our order of the meats have not come out yet. These are raw meats plates that are brought to you for you to cook on the indented table grill. While waiting, I flagged down a server to ask how much longer we have to wait, they mentioned that the kitchen was backed up, apologized and asked for patience. I didnt quite understand the wait given that it was raw meats that we were waiting for.When our meats finally came out (40+ min in), it was quite evident that they had not anticipated for the crowds that evening. The intestines that we ordered were still half frozen, all the meats that came were watery, and unfortunately, that does affect how the meats will cook and taste.The seasoning and marinades on the meats were nice. They also provide ponzu, sweet soy sauce, and a hot sauce for dipping. I asked for some salt, which is typical when you order meats, and the waiter came out with salt in a rice bowl. Not sure why, but maybe they should invest in salt shakers. They dont have pepper.We paid $42 dollars per person that evening for the mid-level AYCE. Im glad that we didnt go for the premium AYCE which will run you $50+.The wait times were horrendous and meats were not up to par. Hopefully this is a one time occurrence, but with the price point, I dont know if I, nor you, should test out the quality again. The quality should have been when I visited this establishment.

It took so long to get service, I had to go up to the counter to order my Fried Bacon Chips, and my friend waited what felt like forever to get a refill for the pitcher. The bacon chips were ok, but the portion size was tiny for $4. The funniest part is that they didnt card us.

I really like the meat, it is definitely high quality. But my favorite by far is Harami Miso Skirt Steak, the meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth. My parents loved it too, even though they are usually quite picky.However, it is a very pricy place. I highly recommend the happy hour meal sets, it is more than enough for two people, you will be pretty full, and you will spend just about $30 for both of you guys
