Gyukaku is great place for meat lovers.We like their tasty seasoning on the meat. Everytime we order and grill it, all the seasoning from the meat is so flavorful!The servers are amazing. When we came, they gave us larger table, they bring the food in order to enjoy, and even reminded us on the cooking time for each different meat.One downside here is parking. Very limited :)Well it happens in LA a lot

This is a take out review.Unfortunately, my DoorDash driver took an extra hour to pick up my order, but I will not factor that into my review. Unfortunately it did impact the overall quality due to my order sitting at the restaurant for awhile.I ordered the Umakara Beef Rice bowl, which came with a side salad and miso soup. A decent amount of food for a reasonable price. The beef had a sweet and savory flavor. The additional sauce packets added an abundance of flavor. My favorite being the spicy jalapeño miso.Gyu-Kaku is certainly more suited for dining in, as you can cook the meat on the little hot pot they have on the table. It’s a fun experience and would no doubt deserve 5-stars. That said, this is a take out review and it was pretty decent. I just personally think I’ll stick to eating at the restaurant.

Excellent fresh, good, and quick food. We arrived during their happy hour and our group was satisfied with everything we received. The bibimbap was amazing and very flavorful. The ramen was top notch. And the steak was good as well. Would definitely recommend to make a reservation as we came here once and they didn’t have any available tables for us to eat. And they told us they wouldn’t sit walk ins for the rest of the day. But the food made up for it.

This is the second time my wife and I have unfortunately have been inconvenienced by food poisoning out of six times eating at this location in the past 3 months.This location desperately needs a revamping and is worn out.As I sit on my toilet at 2am writing this post I Figured the first first time was just bad timing. Now I know that their raw food preparation is not up to par. I would bet we aren’t the only ones with this complaint this morning.

Nice Jap bbq with happy hour set meal too. We came on odd hour for lunch so we dont have any Q. This place caught my eye while back because of Korean words in their menu. Japanese B.B.Q. place established by Korean owner? Was my thought and today Im here to see if Im right. J/k. Was in area around lunch and decide to get something quick grab to go. From outside looks quite but once I walked in this place was almost full. It is small place but still much better than walk into empty restaurant on lunch time to order something. Got Spicy Kalbi Bibimbob Both Kalbi and Bibimbob is Korean word. Many things on menu u can get for under $10 so it really fits my budget for lunch. By the time my order came out this place filled up all the tables. (This tells me I might need to reserve a table before I come here for dinning in) Stir fried rice with hot sauce (gochoojang, Korean hot paste sauce) top with Kalbi was excellent choice. I wasnt expecting much from it because of I ordered more like Korean dish in Japanese restaurant. My first bite remind me why this place is full on Monday lunch because they are GOOD. It was really good and Im gonna make this place my lunch place whenever Im in area. U guys should be proud because first restaurant outside of Korea town Ive mention my lunch place on web. Another one is in Marina Del Rey, B.B.Q place and both place have reasonable lunch menu price. (Under $10) and of course gotta be good in taste.

Amazing food! The staff is super nice. The only cons are that there seem to be an unusually high number of bros in an otherwise nice, high-quality establishment. Tonight, we had bros on both sides of us, those to the left having a super annoying relationship argument, and the bros to our right trying almost comically to outdo each other about virtually every aspect of 25-year-old bro life. Thats not the restaurants fault, though! Lets get some more clueful people in there and make it the experience this awesome restaurant deserves to be! Beware, btw, of the $6 32oz mug of Sapporo. Its a lot. And is probably what draws the bros, now that I think of it.

One of my favorite BBQ places in LA.Great place. I always make a reservation and am always sat promptly. The service is great and they are friendly and helpful if its your first time. The food is tasty.The meats are quality and the marinades on some of them give them a great flavor.The tables themselves are also nice and large with comfortable seats. Plenty of room for the endless dishes youll be ordering. The grills are clean and theyll get you a fresh one if you need it.The sake is hot and delicious and the beer on tap is one of the best (cold, frosty mug, not skunky) in Los Angeles.Highly recommend for a lunch or dinner with friends. Get some large sake, some meats, and hang out.Dont forget to tip generously, these are hard times!

Excellent BBQ restaurant. Come here for the happy hour for half priced drinks and great prices for BBQ meats. You will have to BBQ your own food but thats the fun part. They have sets or a la carte but the sets are a better deal. The Fuji set is most economical but the Kobe set offers the premium meats. Each set comes complete with a soups, salads, rice, meats, seafood, and smores for dessert. Highly recommended! Don’t forget to Make reservations online in advance

First of all, dont expect to finish your meal soon if you are in a hurry. The service is very slow here. The line is always long and theres a very tiny waiting area by the cashier.Secondly, you should always take advantage of their happy hour deals. It almost doesnt make sense to pay full price here because theres always some deal going on.Third, this place gets hot, almost too hot most of the time. Either the AC is too weak or lack of air flow inside the restaurant, I always get very sweaty after the meal.Fourth, their portion is on the tiny side. But, I really like the quality of it.

Id never been to a place like this before, but I have to say, its a lot of fun. They set you up with your grill, you order your items to grill, and away you go. The staff was friendly, and conscientious, making sure that our grill was hot enough, oiled, and changed. Definitely get the spicy pork, and the zucchini was pretty great, too.

If I could give it 0 STARS I would! Went there with my family today and was treated WITH RACISM!! The whole restaurant was filled with non blacks and we were the only BLACK FAMILY THERE! My mom and I was disrespected by an Asian customer who had no respect for PERSONAL space in this PANDEMIC! I spoke on this and 25 mins later we are still at the table with no waiters in sight!! This is a fine establishment.It is very popular, and gets pretty busy at random hours. The management of seating can be erratic, and we were left sitting for 45 minutes while those behind my party were seated. We were here on Christmas day, and the company I was keeping was good, so this didnt bother me.We ordered hot pot instead of barbeque because our time for lunch had grown very short.Mine was mixed veggie with shrimp. Hers was spicy pork. They were both a bit on the bland side.The service, once we were sat down, was awesome. Im looking forward to returning and trying the BBQ which is their specialty. Yesterday night I went to the restaurant with my boyfriend and a friend and we tried to get a table after calling all day and not getting an answer. The website stated that since Monday 3/15 indoor sitting was allowed at this location. We got there at 6pm. They told us that they were still accommodating the table and it wont be ready until 7pm. They wrote my number down and they advised that they will give me a call once the table is ready. I went for a walk and got a call at 6:51pm stating that the table is ready. I told them that I was walking around and that I would be back in 15 minutes. Once I arrived the manager told me that they were full and they didnt have a table for us. That we could wait 45 minutes for the next table to leave. VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED. I would not recommend going there during this times. The manager told me that the guy who took my information was quite new and that she was sorry but there was no table for us. Go to any other location if possible or try any other korean bbq space. VERY BAD SERVICE!!! Wont go back.

Worst Gyu Ever visited!!! We ordered all you can eat and the server was SLOOOOOOOW and cut us off after 90 min. of torturing us with his bad service. We got 30 min. of actual service, spread out over 90 grueling minutes and he also told us, the printer was broken, so your order did not go in. How is that possible when he wrote our order down and then handed that same paper to the chefs in the back and the paper is hung by clips in the back ( we can see them from our table)??????? My son did not get enough to eat and he left totally dissatisfied. Not worth the extra $$ we paid for all you can eat.

This place is the best. A#1. The yaki shabu with garlic sauce is a must try (secret🤫). The secret pot is one of the best meats Ive ever had in my life. Very rich and decadent. The premium all you can eat is totally worth the buckaroos. Not to mention the service is exceptional! 👍🏽👍🏽

This review is strictly for the AYCE option which is a great deal considering the prices on the regular menu. The shrimp was surprisingly large and fresh although over seasoned. I douse them in water before cooking to lower the saltiness. A great alternative to kbbq as the meat is of higher quality.

This location is really small compared to other locations. I recommend you make reservations before arriving. The food and service was great. We celebrated our Valentines Day at gyukaku! We got their Ultimate AYCE dinner menu for $47 per person. Definitely a bit more expensive than your typical Kbbqs and Jbbqs, but honestly, it is so worth it. I think they have some of the best quality meats in SoCal! Their Ultimate is already a pretty extensive menu, so unless you REALLY want more time to eat or just really love the additional meats on the Supreme Menu, I think the Ultimate is definitely the way to go. My absolute favorite meats to get are their beef tongue and filet mignon salt & pepper. So buttery and tender! They also have some gosh darn delicious appetizers that will probably make you too full to eat more meat, like garlic noodles, fried cheese wontons, and even buttered cheese corn! Getting their smores and ice cream for dessert was also the best way to end such a heavy meal!MAKE RESERVATIONS AHEAD OF TIME!!

The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat barbeque for an allotted 90 minute or 120 minute interval, depending on the tier of dining you wish to purchase. Though the time it takes to receive some of the dishes takes longer than at other self-barbeque restaurants, the quality of the meat makes up for the wait. It would most likely be wisest to order a new round of meats as soon as you receive the current round. The selection of sides is, however, a bit lacking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Gyu-Kaku and loved the hands on cooking aspect of the dining experience. Three to five dishes is more than enough for two people to share. Do you want to try grilling your own food over a roaring hot grill, while smoke gets in your eyes, the a single tear rolls down your cheek as you think about $2 beer specials? Well, then you should hit Gyu-kaku. Food is fine, with a big selection of meats and vegetables to grill, and always some special, gimmick, or deal. Happy hour is ridiculous (basically day time) and its fun. Service is always great, but it can get noisy, smoky, and crowded.Parking lot is a public lot just up the block.

Usually love gyu kaku, but today we had the misfortune of having a server named ploy as our server who acted like serving us was a huge waste of her time. Every time she came by she had this roll her eyes attitude and never was polite about anything not even saying youre welcome to a thank you. This was the worst after calling to try to make reservations and being told one wasnt needed only to find a huge waiting line when we get there. I hope the manager makes some serious changes or coaching and I hope these entitled, self-absorbed, kids dont have a job soon because they dont deserve it.

When i cant make the treck out to k-town for korean bbq, i stop in here for a similar cook-it-yourself experience. the meats come well marinated and cook up deliciously, though they could bring more accompanying sides (kimchee is extra here). they have an all-you-can-eat deal at lunchtime that will leave you in very satisfied food coma, not recommended if youre looking for productivity!
