2023-12-24 03:38:06Really amazing vegan ramen. I dont remember what I got but it was white miso ramen, I added bamboo shoots and asked for spicy paste since that ramen wasnt spicy.I will say: the spicy paste was not worth the 2dollars I paid. It wasnt spicy. If anything the spicy garlic edamame was Spicier and great flavor. Im not vegan but I choose to eat plant based meals over meat, however the egg was on point. Super dlecious a lot of flavor.I will say the vegan white miso doesnt have much veggies compared to other places ive been too. I had to pay extra for the bamboo shoots but I feel everything was balanced and delicious. My bf had the tonkotsu ramen. He loved it as well. We both had yuzu sherbert and if Im correct it tasted just like mandarina (mandarin). It was soo tasty anf delicious! Highly recommend 👌🏽100% recommend and I will be coming back. Parking was easy to find for being in downtown/little Tokyo area.I paid about 40 bucks for everything and left a tip on top of that.

2023-08-04 21:59:33The interior decoration of the shop exudes a nostalgic atmosphere. For the Hachioji Shoyu Ramen, they opted for duck as the topping. The noodles were pleasantly chewy, but the broth was overly salty, to an extent that greatly affected the overall noodle experience. The Tonkotsu UMI Ramen had a generally good flavor with a rich broth, but it lacked the promised soft-boiled egg as indicated on the menu. The most satisfying dish was the Karaage Bowl, which came with an extra serving of miso soup and salad.

2023-09-24 01:12:32I thoroughly would recommend this place. I enjoyed my Japanese server, who gave us the best recommendations. Their happy hour was priced right with cheap beer (Sapporo for $2.99) and 20% off all apps. Then the main course - the ramen! Quite excellent and very filling. I went for the ‘Umi’ (sea) ramen which had just a bit more dashi / bonito flavoring than I had bargained for. The Yuzu Shio ramen with duck, which I got another time, was significantly better, leaner, with better flavor. We are stuffed after splitting our fresh karaage ($7.99 during happy hour, with $2.99 pints of Sapporo!) and enjoying our respective ramen bowls. This place is a strong rec!

2023-09-14 19:58:11First time here, walked in and was greeted and chose to sit outside in front, from there was helped immediately and let me tell you . Service was top shelf, beer was brought out seconds later. My only issue was a piece of my roll was completely empty. Other then that this is another hot spot . Shout out to the long hair server for the highest attentive service 💪 !

2023-06-11 02:26:19I came here because I used to frequent this location about 15 years ago. However, this is a newer establishment with less sushi options. That being said, the non-ramen options were limited but we still had a great meal. The flavor was not lacking but there was way too much onion on the salmon carpaccio & duck appetizer. Regardless, I might come back for more of the spicy garlic edamame, it was the best Ive ever had.

2023-11-28 17:02:33A very authentic tasting noodle shop with very chill vibes. Brought out the nostalgia from my 2017 Japan trip. Very tasty noodles and lovely staff. Everyone was nice & pleasant to converse with. Got 2 bowls of noodles & a bottle of sake. The portion size was perfect & I got to bring home my unfinished bottle of sake. Relatively inexpensive, unless you get a bottle of sake like I did. Right around the corner from the Doubletree I stayed at & I liked it more than some of the Michelin recommended restaurants around the area. Dropped a pin on my saved list, would definitely eat again if Im ever in Downtown LA.

2023-06-08 22:14:19I went there with a friend of mine which is local to LA and he want me to try Hachojis food which was an amazing try out and also theyre customer service well driven, also he want me to take a look out at the place as its where bad bunny made his musical video of Yunaguni. In general, all food was awesome and tasty.

2023-11-19 04:37:47To be honest I was trying to get into Marugame Monzo, but hunger and inclimate weather had me enter this place and turned to not to be a bad thing. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Felt legit. The service was brisk and personable. The ramen was good and flavorful! Had the Vegan white, with it creamy broth. It was mild and tasty. I guess you can opt for an upgrade with the flavor profile with some liquid enhancers but I did not feel it was necessary. Got a side of cut roll spicy tuna sushi. Everything hit the spot and I would definitely come back.

2022-11-14 07:11:03Cute restaurant in Little Tokyo. Had a legit Japanese vibe to it - crowded little hole in the wall restaurant. Place was clean and the staff were nice and friendly. I don’t like complaining but the food was disappointing. I had high hopes for authentic Japanese ramen. The broth was nowhere near authentic. It was watery, had minimal fat and was overly salty (I got the Tonkotsu Umi ramen). The ramen noodles were like random Chinese noodles. The bamboo shoots tasted like they came out of a can or jar (slightly sour like they were pickled). The pork was okay. It wasn’t terrible food but I was hoping for so much better especially with the high reviews. Tried the fried squid entree. It was okay.

2023-09-18 20:12:14As of today 18sep2023, the only celiac safe gluten free ramen that the very kind server recommended was the Shio Ramen with substituted gluten free noodles (we were told the gf noodles were boiled separately from the gluten noodles) and with the bamboo shoots and naruto removed. The broth was piping hot, noodles were al dente, and the flavor was delicate and pleasant.
