1st time trying this place.Wife wanted a poke bowl so we came here. She got rice, salmon, poke sauce, ginger, imitation crab, cilantro, and so on. They give you quite a bit of food, as they should for $15. Salmon was fresh, bowl was very tasty.I got the bbq chicken and pork combo. Pork was a little dry, but chicken was good. Macaroni salad was good with it. But would I get it again? Probably not.Musubi. Rice, spam, seaweed. Sounds simple but so good. $2.50 to boot. Other kinds were chicken katsu and bbq chicken. Chicken katsu is probably my favorite now.We wanted to eat there but there were so many people packed in there waiting in line, we decided to take our food home. Only couple of tables inside and outside.Overall good experience, will try other things on menu.

First time going here. Service took a few minutes but I clearly walked in on a lunch rush and every employee was working very hard and got to me as soon as possible. My poke was OK. Scoops are certainly smaller than some other poke spots Ive been too but theres an OK amount of toppings to pick from. I have to say though the quality of the meats I tried were much better here than other places. Got spam masubi and unfortunately the spam was over cooked and pretty tough. I will definitely go try again, maybe when its not as busy.

This food is dangerously good! The whole plate is worth it, and the service is quick even when they are packed. Seating is few, but it still does exist, and they also have outdoor seating which is a plus. They also fill your container to the max giving you the most food for what you paid!

The food is tasty enough but the service is rough! They forgot to add salmon to my bowl, and when I returned (after driving all the way home and back) to ask for it, they were very rude, didn’t even apologize or say anything to me. Just added it and handed the bag back. I wish younger folks were better trained in the art of customer service. 😞

This is a pretty good food spot but most of the workers tend to have a bit of an adittude and recently they have alot of cross contamination. If your getting poké bowls they will just grab all of the food with their hands, especially the raw fish. Ive seen it a few times but its gotten a bit worse recently. If you can look past that then the food is pretty damn good.

Really great food at Halo. Generous portions. Moco Loco is our favorite. Katsu chicken is great, as well as the Poke bowls. Fast and friendly service. My wife is Hawaiian and loves this place. We usually take out but dine in is fine too. Try the Kalua pork. Awesome.

The food is really good! I love the masubi and their poke bowls! Serivice is a little shakey as there are kids (late teens early twenties) running the counter and they are more interested in their phones and chatting with each other about their personal lives that focusing on customers. All in all I will be back!

The coconut shrimp is so good! A tad overcooked this past time and the creamy sauce was bland but usually on point so it was fine. I know things happen 🤗 its $12.95 for 8 shrimp, 2 scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad 😋

I was excited to try, but let down by the quality of the food. There was a long line here, and I had heard good things, but it wasnt as good as expected. I ordered the chicken combo, it was a lot of food, but the quality was not there. It was just a sloppy pile of food. The katsu chicken was soggy, too thick, and the coating fell off all pieces right away. The bbq is marinated way too long in what tastes like pure soy sauce. It has no flavor besides salt and the color is way too dark. Rice was good. Service here is nice enough, they smile, but they also crank out food so fast here and the lines so long it can feel like quality suffers.

Food is not good. I dont know why people go there. Loco Moco was just flat dry beef patty with tasteless sause. The ribs was super dry, thin, hard, so chewy so cheap but the price isnt cheap. Not good.

Went here for lunch recently for the first time and got the mini Hawaiian bbq chicken meal. I thought the food was good and would definitely go there again, the only thing I wish was different was if the macaroni salad was somehow separated from the rice and chicken so it didn’t get too warm.

Used to frequent L&L in Roseville and been missing Hawaiian BBQ ever since I moved to Chico. I had the BBQ Mix plate and it was excellent. Big plate of delicious food that I could not finish in one sitting, so I had some leftovers to bring home with me. The staff was friendly and courteous. Inside seating is limited so you may want to order takeout. Will definitely be working this into my weekday lunch and weekend dinner rotation.

Yet if u wanna change your normal order that is nearly as easy. I suggest calling in your order as their is ALWAYS going to be a line... right ? Cuz its so YUMMY!Healthy poke bowls made to order and the most tender teriyaki chicken you can have. Great place for a poke bowl, there Chicken combo plate easily feeds my husband and my seven yr old and I, there’s plenty of food for us all. Lunch time can get pretty busy and you may have to wait in line a while. But it’s worth it.

Tired of the same lunch places, looked online & Halos came up. This is the absolute BEST teriyaki chicken I have ever had! My husband ordered the katsu chicken, it was great too! We both ordered minis, we couldnt eat it all, took the rest home for later. The macaroni salad was great too! Limited seating for dining in, but it looks like people call ahead or come in & place orders to go, but dont let that stop you from going there! Our new place to eat in Chico!

Good food but a bit greasy for me. Very large portions. An easy 2 meals. All meals come with a small side of macaroni salad and a large ball of sticky white rice. I had the seafood platter and it was pretty good, but again, a bit greasy. I dont know the name of the dish my sister had but it was 2 large, seasoned hamburger patties, 2 eggs on top, smothered in a sauce. Quite rich but tasty. We also ordered a 3rd entree of shredded pork that was an enormous pile of pork. We made tacos 2 nights in a row and still had a lot left over. The restaurant is set up in a cafeteria style, you order, pick what you want with some entrees then take it out. They did have a few small tables inside and a couple outside. I dont think this place is for everyone, but if you like rich food and lots of it, itd be worth a try for you.

Id only seen Hawaiian food on Food Network and had always wanted to try it. They also have poke. They are busy all the time but very fast at preparing the food.

Just had Halo for the first time tonight with my wife. Wow! The staff was super friendly and quick! I tried the BBQ plate and she had the coconut shrimp w/ French fries and spring rolls on the side. The portion sizes are very generous and it was EXCELLENT. Can’t wait to try the other food on the menu. Great to have something like this in Chico. We’ll be back soon.

My first visit to this place. Signage was an issue, easily visible from the parking lot, but no store front signage. It was difficult to differentiate one store from another. However, the service was excellent. The food was hot and fresh. I order the Chicken combo with a side of curry. There was enough food for two! A great value for the price. There is only one table in front of the restaurant, so eating there really isnt an option with the no dine-in rules. The staff was courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Absolutely love this place. I drive all the way from Oroville just to get it. It’s a super popular place, so I call ahead of time for carry-out and by the time I arrive, it either just got done or I’m waiting no more than 2-3 minutes. The food is always hot.My go-to is the baby ribs. Absolutely phenomenal. Can’t go wrong with a couple musubis’ either. I go in and place an order for pickup and they end up handing off my order to someone else. This is the second time in the last couple months. They need to match receipts or take names instead of numbers so they can ensure the right customer gets the correct order. At this point I firmly believe anyone can walk in when they are busy and get free food. Not a great feeling to have everyone else get there food and be the last one in the resteraunt waiting for them to remake your food...

Delicious Poke bowls! I used to live in Hawaii and these are just as good as some of the best I could get there. The fish has always been nice and fresh and high quality and the sauces and toppings are excellent!Just note that customer service is very rote (in the routine/fixed/mechanical sense) and ambience is non-existent. So 4/5 because several local delis demonstrate its possible to be very busy and still do better on those fronts.Still, great food and an excellent choice for take out.

This place blew my mind with their Poke Bowl. You can combine 3 types of fish, along with a plethora of ingredients and add-ons, and not get overcharged like you would at a typical sushi place. I always have enough food to save for a meal later on in the day. My only complaint is in the service. Aside from the fact that theyre usually pretty busy, which they cant control, the people Ive had taking my order werent very helpful when I was a new customer and was trying to figure out how to order. I ended up having a friend order for me, instead. The food is great, though. And the amount of quality food that you get in the $10 price range is pretty much unbeatable.

Everything Ive tried is delicious, fairly authentic to Hawaiian food Ive tried in other places and in Hawaii. Poke bowl bar is very tasty as well. Can be very busy with a 30min+ for take out even if calling ahead around noon the lunch and dinner rush, so plan accordingly. Great food! The short ribs were fantastic and the Spam Musubi reminds me of being in Hawaii!! Sometimes the wait is a bit long and the poke bowl could use way more avocado than what is given. Overall its really great and Ill definitely be returning more and more!Edit: they seem to have adjusted their portions and give plenty of avocado in the poke bowls now. Their lines are also handled much better now that they seem to have their system figured out. Regularly coming here once a week!

I just ordered 2 bbq beef plates and what used to cost right about $20 just cost me $30.. if Walmart hikes their prices by 50% there would be national protests lol. This place recently opened, and Ive had amazing food every visit. I never was a big fan of Spam, but ever since I tried a friends Spam musubi from Halo Ive been hooked on it. Service isnt the fastest, but it looks like theyre hiring and trying to adapt to their quickly growing popularity. If they can speed up orders without impacting the quality of the food, I think theyll continue growing quickly.

I love their poke bowl.It is healthy and delicious.The sashimi is fresh and surprisingly good quality.I honestly had much worse quality of sashimi in a sushi restaurant in Chico, which is funny and ridiculous.The only complaint is that the wait time is way too long everytime I go there.I recommend you to order ahead by phone and pick your order up so that you do not have to waste your 30 minutes or more.

Im only giving them 3 stars because Im pretty sure you have to at least give them 1 to comment. The foods great you get a lot of it for a cheap price. The employees are friendly although it seems that the one I always get at the register doesnt know what theyre doing. They dont know the menu they always have to refer to the one behind them not only that, but weve been ordering the same thing for over a year now. They have not got my order right once. Not only that but every time I go in there they would argue about the food Ive been ordering for over a year. They will fix the order, but thats not the point. A person doesnt want to be haggled EVERY TIME THAT THEY ORDER THE SAME THING or given a hard time when all they want to do is order food. I believe everybody at least deserves a second chance. Maybe even 3 strickes lol. Theres has been long gone awhile ago, but my girlfriend loves the food so of course off I go lol.

I tried their Kalua Pork plate, it was ono! (good). I will definitely try the Poke Bowl next time. I tried the Spam Musubi but did not like it, so I gave them four stars. Nice and friendly staff. The wait was about 10 min. but worth it. My husband tried the Loco Moco, he said it was fine but disappointed they used pre-made frozen patties instead of fresh. You get a lot for the price. I come from Maui and Im always searching for a taste of home. This place is the best I have found so far.

Had a long day. Flying in from Maui. We didnt eat all day and was starving. We needed to get our local food fix. We found Halo Hawaiian BBQ. I had the combo BBQ chicken with sea food plate. Plate size was generous just like back home. Taste was ono. The wife had a teriyaki, kalbi rib plate. She said it was a tad on the salty side but we were so hungry it didnt stop her from eating it all. Place is busy, so prepare for a little waiting on getting your food. Not that long but a little wait. All in all its a good place to eat. We will eat there again.
