Amazing food, at a very great price! A tiny hole in the wall sort of place that I come to almost way too often now.Their Ramen is an absolute must have. So flavorful and filling, 10/10.Their sushi is fresh, delicious and really just looks just as good as it tastes!

Been here a few times and the food is always top notch and a good value. Service is hit or miss but mostly good if a bit slow. Dinner bento box is delicious and their 2 for $20 ish sushi roll is a good deal. We also love the garlic edamame. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s worth a try! Outdoor seating available but no heaters!

Very good place for Japanese food. Always go here if we are near the vicinity. And we bring family and friends here especially those coming from out of town. Everything I had here was always good and fresh. I would always recommend this place, esp if you like small, quaint places. My hubby and I had the bento box. I had bbq beef with calif roll, hubby had teriyaki salmon with tempura. Yummmm😁

We ordered the $119 party platter and it came with only 2 salmon, 3 tuna nigiri and then15 shrimps. There were other some other fish too, but overwhelming shrimp. Out of the 120+ pieces only 2 were salmon and 3 red tuna nigiris.I called to report this and they said its the chefs choice. This is unacceptable and I feel like we got scammed.Chef selection should be a mix of items not predominantly one type. Its more like a shrimp platter.

I avoided this place after the reviews, but tried it on a spur- believe none of what you see and half of what you “hear”. The quantity was plentiful, quality fresh healthy colors,, hot and cold as necessary. Tempura perfectly thin not gummy, one of the best thick and flavored teriyaki I’ve had since I lived in Japan. My child usually picks, but ate a bit or more of everything- and truly enjoyed it. Our former go to Japanese restaurant went under new management and into the depths of watery sauces, poor quality meats/food/service…things change, it happens, for good as well. People will always not be satisfied, too little sauce, too much, perception vs reality.

Not fresh. I got food poisoning from their california rolls the same day I ate them. Probably the worst indigestion in my LIFE. I vomited at least 7+ times throughout the night because of the meal here. I’ve eaten here before and it was ok, but I think those with a sensitive stomach should just skip over this place all together.

A dear friend ordered take out for 2 of us.Utterly disappointing!All the rolls tasted the same, over glazed with sweet sauce or what they concocted up. If you do a blind tasting, you can’t tell which of the 4 rolls you are eating.Dear “chef”, and I shall use it as poetic license, it is not called cooking. Far from Japanese cuisine by a country mile. What you are making is pile it in and squeeze it tight and covered it in sauces. .a simple side, seaweed salad. It is in swimming in vinegar dressing and laced with over half a dozen of sliced cucumbers, it masked the taste the seaweed, when it is called seaweed salad.Eating is supposed to be an visual, aromatic and oral simulations, all roll into one but yet each favor is distinct..Again utterly disappointing.I am more in favor of the axiom; Less is more

Lousy service! It seems like they don’t want the business. I called to order 2 sets of the sushi roll special. The lady was in a rush and told me 15 minutes. I called again to confirm and I asked her for the total. The sum she gave me was for 1 order. I repeatedly told her I am ordering 2 sets. She was just in a rush that she was too busy to take an order over the phone. Unfortunately, to this restaurant: don’t complain that you don’t have customers. Lousy service means turned off customers!

The staff is a bit Rude. I wish they cared more about how they talk to people and how they treat people. I came here with my fiancé and the host/server literally threw out menus at our table rather then hand it to us or set it down nicely. I was shocked but didn’t say anything. Then We waited so long just to be asked if we would I like anything to drink. Keep in mind there are literally 2 servers and 3 people in the the restaurant. Lastly don’t even think of saying thank you to any of the people that work here because they act like they don’t hear you. Just not a pleasant experience. The food is nice but the environment and experience is unpleasant. There is one sushi chief there he’s Hispanic with black hair and he is a delightful chief that cares about the people that eat his food (five stars to him).

I did not eat at this establishment and discourage everyone else from eating here. My partner and I visited Hanabi Sushi, after noting its high reviews, but we were discriminated against and essentially refused service. We walked in and the server did not seat us, tossed the menus on a table five feet away from us, and walked off. Initially, we expected that they was frustrated as they had just opened, so we grabbed a table. The server did not return to our table. An older white couple walked in after about fifteen minutes of us waiting. They were verbally greeted, seated, had their menus set on the table once it was selected and were promptly brought water. About five minutes later, the server returned and took their order. We noticed the discriminate service and immediately left. It was clear that the staff did not want to serve us and we no longer wanted to offer our business. Although, I did not try the food, I am writing this review because the staffs behavior at Hanabi was blatantly racist and abhorrent. I hope others reconsider bringing them business.

Great food! great fresh tasting ingredients! Atmosphere is nice and peaceful! Went in today and they gave my debit card to another customer which then left, so not only did I have to go through the stress of figuring out what to do, which I proceeded to wait hoping the other customer would return, which he did! But I also had to pay for my food after waiting for so long for the inconvenience! So two stars for lack of customer satisfaction, no help from the manager! And Bathroom out of soap 😉

SAD today, I used to buy weekly our favorite Lunch Bento Boxes and I wasgetting sick, I figured it was the lettuce, not being clean, everything else is usually hot and fresh. Today, I gave it another try, EVERYTHING was SAD.Even the oranges given out has no taste, the spring roll soggy greasy and cold?? and the tempura soggy and greasy no taste and no taste to the tempura sauce, maybe watered down?My California rolls tasted old and soggy, all 3 servings of our BBQ chicken or the chicken teriyaki was dry overcooked cold and little or no sauce or flavor. I ordered on line and picked up, as we drove up there was no one in the restaurant and no one parked in front. NEVER have I seenit so quiet there. Our food was VERY DISAPPOINTING. If you spend nearly $50 and nothing was good. IS there a new cook or new owner? WE used to love the food. I took a few bites and could not eat anymore, need to throw it away. Very Sad the Quality has gone down.

Check your order before you leave otherwise youll get harassed. I ordered over $100 worth of sushi; get there to pick it up and head home. Well when I start taking stuff out I notice Im missing 3 rolls and the fried shrimp tempura I ordered. I call them and tell them Im missing those 4 items, they question it of course so I explain what I received and I could hear the older gentleman in the background arguing so I told them I could just take the whole order back. The lady on the phone just said no, its ok. what rolls are you missing? I told her the items I was missing and I asked how long, she said 10 min. When I get there to pick up my items I get harassed by the older gentleman there saying he put this many rolls in the boxes and that they have camera. I tried to explain what I received but I wasnt going to sit there and argue so I left with the only item they did make, which was the fried shrimp tempura. I wouldnt have wasted my time going back if they were just going to harass me.

Great 2 for $15 deal on certain sushi rolls! The place is a bit small, but the proportions are big and they provide lots of hot tea and not just one cup where you have to keep asking for refills like other places. Nice spot for lunch or dinner.

We have been here many times because it is so close to us. I am very polite every time and speak my order clearly.In the past, every single time they have gotten something wrong. No tempura sauce, they forget to take a topping off I requested off, just random frustrating stuff.But today was the last straw. They watered down their tempura sauce, like it has almost no flavor and looks like lightly brown water. We know what it’s supposed to taste like.The crunchy flakes on top of my roll were stale. They weren’t crunchy, they were chewy.The shrimp tempura in my roll and my wife’s roll were stale. It was not normal, almost like it was store bought pre-cooked.The entire box of vegetable tempura we had was stale and soggy, like it was cooked 2 hours earlier.I picked up my order exactly at the time they told me it would be ready, drove home 5 minutes and ate it, so it’s not like it was sitting for a long time.We will be looking for another sushi place around here, and I wish Hanabi the best and I hope they get their act together. I know this is a hard time for restaurants but you don’t serve sub-par food like this.

Love this place, they have the absolute best sushi not only in town but in the few towns surrounding Martinez.Always fresh, very affordable, and quick service on the off hours.Note: they get absolutely slammed during regular lunch and dinner hours so you might have to wait a while to get seated/eat since its a smaller location but its definitely worth it.

Me and my coworkers ordered a large order from this location and were very disappointed. We ordered through door dash and I’m unsure of the message was not relayed that it was a group order but they group 3-4 sushi rolls together in 1 container and did not specify which rolls were which on top of the container. We called the restaurant just to have assistance identifying the rolls as we ordered upwards of 14 rolls. The individual who answered the phone initially attempted to tell us which roll was which then abruptly stopped said he had to go and to reach out to Door Dash for this is a Door Dash issue. After informing him that we only had a few rolls remaining to differentiate he hung up abruptly. Thankfully Door Dash had better customer service and provided a credit for the negative experience. We order takeout on our unit at least once a week and we will no longer order from this establishment. This review is based off of the customer service only not food quality.

Hanabi has some of the best sushi I have ever had !! I recommend the Islander and I think the other one I tried was called Energy. There are many more that I tried but I cant remember what they are called.Its just off the highway and easy to get to. Google Maps will get you there easily.

For the price cannot beat this place for local and fresh Sushi! Large rolls too, not those tightly wound up bite sized rolls at other sushi joints. Recommend the Cherry Blossom, Hot Night, and Rainbow roll. Hawaiian Poke is good as well.

Ive gone here for years, and honestly I always ignored how bad the customer service is because the food is decent and its close by. But the servers are just so rude its ridiculous. One of those places where you feel embarrassed to ask for anything extra, because you know theyll give you dirty looks and make you feel inconvenient. Been here a few times with my fam. This is a very clean and friendly place and I really like their food. Although this time, their Salmon Tariyaki was very small and was dry and over cooked. Their spicy beef had mostly veggies. I basically had 2 small pieces of beef with veggies. Their Chicken Katsu was juicy and flavorful. Their rolls were really good as always. Hanabi used to be good, but the last three visits, Ive decided I wont go there anymore. The service has been downright terrible. Several times now Ive been ignored, then the waitress waited on people who arrived after me; I actually had to say, excuse me, weve been waiting for a long time, then ask for utensils, ask for menus, ask for tea, ask for the check. They need more servers and ones either with experience or ones who are trained. I always ask for my roll to be cut small and they NEVER do it. I ask for water with no ice, I get extra ice. Im looking for another place to go. =(

I have been going to this one and the Concord one for years. This was the first time I ever did takeout and I am disappointed. Not only did the food fall apart but it also didnt taste like it normal does. Some of the sushi I got had no fish but all cream cheese.

I first inquired if the Donburi with chicken was prepared with Chicken breast meat.The wait person stated yes.When the Donburi was placed upon the table. It was prepared with Thigh meat.When the question was raised regarding the thigh meet. This writer was told That thigh meat is all we use here.This writer stated to the wait person.I was told that this item is prepared with Breast meat, otherwise I would have not ordered it.In turn, this writer stated I dont want this item and take it away. The wait person simply walked away, leaving the Donburi on the table.I finished my appetizer of pot stickers.Which was tasty.After 10 minutes. The Donburi sat on the table, untouched. Now, I demand that the Donburi be removed and in turn.Removed from the bill.I dont intend to return here. Just your typical korean owned Japanese place with not so fresh sushi and a million different rolls piled in with sauces and more rice. You can tell by the coloration that it didnt look fresh. Tempura sauce isnt authentic as it didnt have the grated daikon...little things like that and quality make all the difference.

A while back we had a similar experience with poor service compared to other reviewers. Someone in our party cant have avocado so we made sure to order a roll which didnt come with any by default and was supposed to have zucchini instead. What is the little green stuff inside our roll when it comes out? Not zucchini, but avocado! We pointed this out to the waitress who did not apologize or replace the roll and essentially just said Ok and then complained to the sushi chef. We ate a few pieces with the avocado scraped out, paid, and left. Why would we ever come back?
