Hang Ten Alameda in Alameda

Why did I just realize that I haven’t put in a proper review for Hang Ten yet?! Hang Ten is one of my favorite restaurants in Alameda. The food never disappoints, it’s consistently delicious, the portions are plentiful and they have excellent customer service. From the mixed BBQ plate to the garlic shrimp, everything is always good. Every. Single. Time. Special shoutout to Kimmie who seems to always be working whether we dine for lunch or dinner. She’s super sweet and is calm under pressure (especially during a recent dinner visit and it was crazy busy).

Delicious boiling crab with big portions! Everything is cooked perfectly & the crab meat just comes off in one easy pull 😋 We love coming here not just for the boiling crab but also for the garlic noodles too.

Six of us were in Alameda for an outdoor event. We decided to have lunch here.I have been to Hang Ten Boiler numerous times in the past. The owner is the guy who created the original We Believe tee shirts over 16 years ago for the Golden State Warriors.I did not order the garlic noodles this time around as a side dish. I decided to have the Chicken Katsu plate, which included two sides - Island macaroni salad and steamed broccoli. The portion was pretty generous to the point I couldnt even finish half of my lunch. The cost was reasonable st $16, excluding tax and tip. Their food is also delicious. I recommend the garlic noodles, sweet potato fries and, of course, the chicken katsu. My sister had the Kalua pork with cabbage and a housemade salad. She said her pork was a tad salty. The steamed broccoli was lacking in seasoning. I should have asked for some soy sauce.Service was good and the wait time wasnt long. There were so many choices on their menu. It was hard to decide what to order.Street parking can be problematic. There is a public garage about 1-1/2 blocks away on Oak Street. AC buses 51A and 20 are within walking distance.

Great spam masubi & mac salad. BBQ chicken also good. Garlic noodles could have used a fry/char. Huge portions so the price made sense, feel free to share a plate. Cozy spot for a casual date, beers on tap. Service was so friendly and attentive.

Very sumptuous seafood. Highly recommended.

I’m a customer here..I’ve been for years and honestly I love this restaurant. I get the pound of hang ten sauce shrimp with corn and rice and their amazing Cajun fries. Their employees and the atmosphere is also incredible. Highly recommend

Good was great and portions leave enough for leftovers. Very nice staff and attentive. Will definitely come back and absolutely recommend.

I cant believe Ive been living so close to this place for a year and today was my first time at this place.The food was delicious I loved my bag with shrimps and corn, I got spicy one and boy was it spicy. If youre not used to spicy go for mild or something else.My wife got fries with pork and it was a huge portion as well.We loved the place, the food and out waiter, she was super nice all the time checking on us.We definitely will come here more often because of the quality of the food, the affordable prices and the amazing service

I had garlic butter crab! It was so good. A bit pricey though.

Food was ok, but service was pretty inattentive. Somehow, management decided peak business hours was appropriate to stage an actual photo shoot of the restaurant using extremely bright flash photography. It was so over the top we thought it was a prank at first. Intense constant strobing became so unbearable that it began to cause eye strain. We asked if they could please figure out another option or reschedule the photo shoot for when paying customers would not have to endure the constant flashing multiple times every minute for 30 plus minutes solid until we had to leave. The photographer put up a shade the size of a childs umbrella with little impact. It actually made it worse by focusing the flash directly to our table. At that point, it was time to leave. We let them know this behavior was ridiculous to endure for such an expensive meal and asked for boxes to take our food and go. There was no apology. No acknowledgement of how unprofessional our experience was. The food was pretty good, but its also at premium market pricing, so hoping that our visit here wasnt typical of what to expect on average. Sadly, that visit enough for me.
