Exceptional service. As we sat down and server was taking our order, drinks arrived before we finished placing the meal order. Well run service team where every team member rotates with assisting main server. The end result is efficient and complete customer service. Food is also really good with the right layering of flavors.

A fantastic spot to try out Thai cuisine!The Ceviche was delicious, though the portion size was not too large, it was enough.I wouldnt describe the dish as spicy as indicated on the menu.I really enjoyed the pork with rice; there was a generous amount of meat in the dish.The place looks more appealing from the outside than its interior. Thankfully, they have heaters, so its cozy even in the evenings.Be prepared for long queues; around 7 pm on weekdays, the wait can be up to an hour.Unfortunately, the location itself is not very interesting, and theres not much to do while waiting.

Such outstanding food but, surprisingly, the drinks are so bad!The key to getting a table at this place is to go on a weeknight. We went on a Tuesday night and got a table within 25 minutes. We decided to share a couple of hot dishes, since it was cold outside, and opted for the tom kha soup and boat noodles as our entrees plus homemade coconut ice cream and butterfly pea sweet sticky rice for dessert. All the food was 10/10. Legit felt like I was transported to Asia and enjoying this meal there. However, my partner ordered a Thai tea and said it tasted watered down and low quality. We also ordered 2 glasses of water without ice for the table, and the taste was so metallic, I couldnt drink it. I dont mind drinking tap water, but it at least needs to be filtered so that it doesnt have that hard water taste.Interior and exterior of this place are aesthetic and slightly romantic. Good friends catch-up or date night spot, and they have space heaters in their outdoor seating area.So glad I finally got to try this place! I consider it one of the best places Ive tried in Orange County. Just fix the drinks, and this place would be a solid 5 stars.

The food was really good… the beef curry combination didn’t go as well as the salmon curry combo. Other that that all the food was delicious. Our party arrived at 6pm & requested to be seated inside by 6:30ish. Waited a little longer than that but we knew there would be a wait. Turns out hostess didn’t communicate; so they offered a table outside or for us to wait for another 30 minutes. Pretty annoying… however, it turns out to be a good thing. We sat outside & they placed a heater. :) FYI the bathroom is kind of hidden & all the way at the end of the restaurant. I forgot to mention.. the hard boiled egg was extremely salty. Far warning this is not your usual Thai dishes… server said it’s like street food/Thai fusion.

This was an awesome Thai restaurant. The food here is authentic and all around some of the best Thai food Ive ever had! The service was fantastic and super attentive! Try the Tom Kha beer as well its lemongrass flavoring is so unique and pairs well with just about any dish! You cannot go wrong by coming here! A must try is the Crying Tiger plate, still savoring those flavors today!

I’ve been to Hanuman for so many times and this is the most recommended Thai food place I’ll say in Irvine I’ll say! The dining environment is very elegant. Even though I never go to Thailand and I’m not sure is that authentic or not, this Asian-fusion spot is a great place to try out. (￣∇￣)🤍My favorite dish is Hanuman Ceviche. It’s a refreshing plate with fresh raw seafood seasoning with mango and some side veggies. The crunchy shrimp cracker makes it more layeredful.🤍Yellow curry with steak is a must try if you are first time here!🤍Thai tea brûlée pudding hits the difference! It lowers the sweetness of traditional Thai tea. I’ll also recommend Sweet Roti!🤍Fried chicken for me tastes okay, nothing special, but good to share with friends!

Overall: 4.8/5 (dine in)We came at 8:40 PM on a Saturday night and they turned us away due to the long wait even though they closed at 10 PM. We came back on a Tuesday evening at 9:15 PM and were scared they were going to turn us away but they were able to seat the two of us. The guy with glasses was our server and he was super professional, always had a smile on his face, and was very attentive. We were the last one there at closing time but they didnt rush us. Everyone was really nice and didnt seem stressed as they were cleaning up. A+ for service.Crying Tiger ($20): The filet mignon was indeed medium rare & super tender. The Jeaw sauce was good but I do wish that it packed more of an umami punch.Khao Soi ($21): This is one of their specialities and what I came for. The bowl was huge so we had leftover for lunch the next day. The broth was so good and flavorful without being overly powerful or salty. However, if you get the Gai Todd Hat Yai, do not switch between the two OR eat the Khao Soi first. The Gai Todd Hat Yai has a stronger flavor profile so when you eat the wings then the Khao Soi, the Khao Soi somehow tasted more bland. When we ate the Khao Soi the next day, it was back to being on point in terms of flavor. They put a spoonful of chili oil and some green sauce in the bowl but the broth didnt taste spicy. The bowl came with 2 chicken drumsticks and like what everyone said, the meat was so tender it fell right off the bones. The noodles - both the one in the soup and the fried ones - complimented the broth so well. Everything in this bowl was just in harmony. You just have to try it to appreciate the complexity of this bowl.Gai Todd Hat Yai ($20): These were one of the best fried chicken weve had in awhile. They were plump, juicy, crispy, and flavorful. They give you sticky rice to eat the wings with. We like to pour their house recipe dipping sauce on the rice, add the fried shallots on top, and eat it after taking a bit of the chicken. Definitely see why this is a speciality and a must try item.Mango Sticky Rice ($15): This wasnt on the dessert menu but the server confirmed that they had it. I saw a lot of reviews about it and how its sometime not available so I decided to get it. I didnt see the price until after we paid but I dont think its worth it. The presentation was nice though. The coconut sauce they used is not sweet but salty - not in a good way. The coconut sauce is fine on the mango as sticky rice but when I tried it by itself, it wasnt good. I dont know what kind of mango they used but its not the sweetest one which I thought would have been better. The best thing about this dessert in terms of taste is the blue sticky rice. This was the perfect texture and level of sweetness. The topping didnt add much but everything together was probably what made people rave about it.Destinata Carbonic Grenache ($12 glass): This is a chilled red wine which just doesnt bode well so its a no for us.

The best Thai food I’ve had in Orange County… by far. The food was flavorful and amazing. Service has always been top notch as well. I wish I took more photos of the food but everything smelled too good I couldn’t wait to start eating it. Will definitely be back for more!

Food was absolutely amazing at this Thai cuisine. We waited 30 minutes to get seated and it was well worth the wait. We ordered the Hanuman’s Ceviche, pad see ew, chicken Khao Soi, and chicken with peanut sauce. I was absolutely in love with the pad see ew and ceviche as it had so much flavor to them. I do feel like the Khao Soi was more on the spicy side but it was still relatively good. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice. The rice was purple and warm. The mangoes were super soft. I do wish there was more coconut milk however. Everything was comfort food worthy and the environment gave off a warm comforting feeling while dining in on a cold night. All the workers were super attentive and friendly.

One of the best Thai places in the OC!Hanuman delivers the classics and beyond with friendly, quick service at the corner of a medium-sized plaza right next to Etc Sushi (which is also owned by the Hanuman owners and is equally excellent). Indoor dining has a modern, clean interior and ambient lighting, and there are several picnic style tables for outdoor seating. Definitely made for smaller to mid sized groups.So the FOOD here is delicious, and the highlights are:Pad See Ew - this one is one of their best dishes and superior to most Pad See Ew in the area. Incredible soy umami flavors mixed into delicate, chewy flat noodles. Pork or chicken go nicely with this one.Panang Curry - sooo creamy with the perfect tang and spicy balance. They do not mess with their curries here - the texture is on point! And it comes with rice. The beef is our favorite accompaniment with this dish.Khao Soi - must-try curry-like chicken noodle broth with hints of coconut and lime and fall-off-the-bone tender chicken leg. Top this off with some crispy noodles and oh my gosh. Eat it on premise - not as take out.Also fantastic choices include the Hanuman Fried Rice (sweet Chinese and essan sausages really give life to this dish), Gai Todd Hat Yai (cant go wrong with very crispy fried chicken with sticky rice), Green Papaya Salad (very tart with lovely sweet tones, this is addicting), Pad Thai (always great with shrimp), and Crying Tiger (a past favorite thats a little too small in portion to justify the price tag for us now).Dont sleep on: the Tom Yum beer (which actually tastes like beer with some tom yum soup mixed in) or their Roti dessert (crispy, flaky goodness with condensed milk and cinnamon - to die for).The flavors are bold, the spice levels are newcomer friendly, and the service is always friendly even when busy. Their decorations are pretty. Their employees are friendly. However, to be honest, their foods are average. The chicken wings were so so. The KaoSoi was salty. The papaya salad was just spicy, a boring taste. Ive tried lots of Thai restaurants in OC, kind of disappointed with this one. My bill was $68 and I think its not worth it.

The atmosphere was awesome. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the khao Soi. The presentation satisfied my eye hunger if that makes sense. It tasted better than it looks. The fried noodle added a crunch as you bite into it with your broth and regular noodles. The curry broth was the perfect thickness. The chicken drum was tender and juicy. The only downside (for me) it wasnt as spicy as I was hoping it to be. I couldve asked for more sauce to make it spicier but I was still enjoying the flavor as it was. Next time Im for sure asking for more sauce.

This restaurant has its good and bad dishes. While the fried chicken and sticky rice and tom yum are stunning, their satay chicken tastes like gym food that wasted their great sauce. Thai tea is decent. I think som tum was served in a good portion and tasted great. Pad see ew was not bad but not special. However, the decoration was nice and the staff were helpful.

First impression, the aesthetic inside looked great. Plaza has plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s first come first serve so no reservations which is a bummer. They also have outdoor seating. Be warned it’s noisy outside due to the planes flying by. For a Friday, there was an hour at 6:30 for a party of 4. Having lived in Thailand for four years, my expectations were high after reading all the great reviews. We ordered ceviche, crying tiger (filet), papaya salad 2/5 in spice level, pad kee mao (flat rice noodles w onions, basil w/ pork) medium spicy, khao soi (curry noodles w/ chicken), fried chicken hat yai style, boat noodles and roti. The ceviche was refreshing and tasty. Crying tiger was cooked perfectly at medium rare, the sauces surrounding the steak was good. The papaya salad was not spicy at all. The scale was 1-5 so we said 2/5. But it pretty much tasted like no spicy. I usually have 2 chilis in my papaya salad. It was weird to see lettuce instead of cabbage with the papaya salad. Pad kee mao had the spicy kick that we liked but still underwhelming. The khao soi, was the best dish here but I miss the pickled side dishes that usually goes with it. Chiang Mai is known for khao soi. Some acidity would’ve balanced it out better. Fried chicken was standard, the sticky rice in the straw cup was very little. For $18 I expected more, maybe fill the sticky rice to the top. The boat noodles were a little flat on flavor, a tad on the sweet side. I think the presentation for most of the dishes were beautiful. I wish there were more flavors. Thai food is known for sweet, sour, salty, bitter and hot. Most of the dishes felt like one note. It’s good but I was not wowed. My friend also cooks Thai food and was not super impressed and also felt like something was lacking. We finished our meal with sweet roti, it did remind me of the street food in Thailand. Four people including beer and Thai tea the average cost was $50 per person. Not sure if it was worth it or if I will return. Prices are definitely higher than your average mom and pop Thai restaurant. I think you are definitely paying for the ambiance.

I was I Hanuman eatery for about 5 times now. From day one I always order Massaman curry and that Dish honestly deserve 10/10 just the roti is lately very oily 😔 they ceviche is also bomb! But last time I’ve decided that I’ll try that famous fried chicken and it was disappointment. No flavor and the sauce was just little upgraded sweet and sour sauce, I was expecting maybe some mango or any other fruit sauce mixed in at least. Words Famous and sweet and sour just don’t go together. Rice was good, Pad Thai is not bad, green curry was good and drunken noodles-we asked for not spicy and it was missing even salt or any flavor basically and it just tasted like eating nothing honestly. I am still giving 4 stars because that Massam curry is one of the best dishes I’ve ate in my life, ceviche also awesome, staff is friendly, they have a good wine and I’ll be definitely still going there I’ll just stick with what I know it’s tasty 😊

Seriously flavorful, fresh, and fabulous. An awesome selection of classic dishes like pad Thai, pad see ew, and street noodles, but some unique dishes like the Boat Noodle (pictured) that has broth that is to die for. If you like Thai food, this is a place to go, just be sure to give yourself some time after putting your name in because it will probably be at least a half hour wait. Service was also great where they worked with us through dish types and spice levels (I went medium, but increased it after tasting it with some extra spice that he brought to the table.

If I hadn’t heard a recommendation for this place, I probably would never have tried it. What a mistake that would have been. It’s in an unassuming strip mall atmosphere but the interior is quite nice. The food is absolutely delicious (best chicken satay I’ve ever had!) and if I could give the service 6+ stars, I would. Wished for other protein additions beside shrimp.I have lived in the Isaan a province in Thailand for several Months and the Roti is a joke. 5/5 from the delicious cuisine to the customer service. This was our first time and it did not disappoint. We walked up and we’re seated right away. Loved that the servers were all wearing Christmas themed sweaters & attire. I ordered the Panang Curry and my wife ordered the Drunken Noodle. We added a side of Thai Fried Rice and per usual our eyes are bigger than our stomachs haha. Took a lot of food home to enjoy the following day. Highly recommend.

The waitress is just rude and its the biggest bummer. We first waited for 35 mins since its high rate on Yelp. When the table is ready we waited outside to be seated and suddenly we realize I lost my bag at another place and since my parents dont speak English so I asked the parents waitress to seat us quickly so I can get back and find it. She simply refused and kept talking to another group who were in the line. I tried to explain to her I was in a hurry and ask if we can be seated immediately since our table is ready. And you cannot believe it--she simply ignored me pretending she didnt hear me even though I was talking to her face. At the moment, I didnt want to ruin the evening for my parents so I chose not to argue with her or complain to her manager. Clearly, they are a very busy restaurant and they might ignore customers for that reason--you can see that when the waiter and waitresses cut to your front while you are walking to the restroom, and one of the waiters almost hit my mom when he turned around.The food is relatively good but not surprising. Its fine Thai food but the sizes are too small. The waiter recommended a beef steak and its less than 5oz even for a starter. The Tom Yum soup is good but was just a little pot and each person only got one small bowl of soup out of it. If you eat here prepare to order at least come more dish than usual. We ordered four dishes and it cost us 120 dollars. For me its a little overpriced.

Despite the half-hour wait on a Monday night at 7, this place is worth it. We had soup for our starter course, the amazing Tom Kha Gai coconut soup. Taking the advice of other reviewers, we ordered the Khao Soi and the Drunken Noodles. The Khao was especially creamy, maybe a bit too much but not complaining. The noodles were prepared exquisitely, and were my favorite. Lao beer was $5, not bad so we each had two. Total with tax before tip was $80. This was more than enough for 2 people. Well be back, for sure!

Possibly our favourite Thai spot in OC. They have this amazing ceviche that’s so addicting (and I don’t like ceviche but this was amazing). It tasted so fresh and it wasn’t overly citrusy. Honestly everything we got was exceptional and so flavourful! Staff are really nice and will give you their honest opinion. We’ve been back a few times and it has become our go to for Thai food.

The Shrimp Pad Thai and the Steak Curry are excellent, as is the Tom Kha Gai Soup. However, for them to NOT have any beef dishes, except for the Curry dishes is not right. ALL of the noodle and rice dishes are ONLY offered with chicken, pork, or shrimp. Otherwise, the food is both fresh and tasty, and the service is efficient and professional.

Omg! You have to try this place. The flavors are bomb. If you want to choose one appetizer the ceviche is a must. The Massaman is just delicious with very nice flavors and the steak was perfectly cooked (you can order the meat of your choice). Of course we also tried the Khao Soi which was magnificent. We finished our adventure with a coconut icecream, which was incredible rich but not too sweet, a perfect balance with the thin purple rice crust at the bottom. The service wasnt good...it was outstanding!!! One of the few places where the servers are incredible polite, make recommendations based on your preferences and really make you feel comfortable and very well taken.Big thumbs up for this place!!!

Food is good, but there are three important things to know, which they dont tell you.1. They have had a sign on the front door for years saying they have a staff shortage, so please be patient. So they are either unwilling or unable to staff properly to ensure good service.2. Getting take-out can take over an hour. You will get no warning that this is the case.3. Super yummy Thai food in Costa Mesa. You can tell they pour their hearts into the food and are passionate about a quality product. The noodle dishes are insanely good! Highly recommend everything. The pad see ew and drunken noodles are some of the best we have ever had. The curry was good but we didnt like the heavily fried tofu all that much. This place is amazing. Best Thai food in the area, but thats not all. The owners and people that work here are amazing.I ordered the fried chicken and drunken noodles. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy and uniquely Thai with the dipping sauce and sticky rice.The drunken noodles are really delicious with the basil and tomato flavors singing with the Thai spices. The noodles were soft, much softer than the chewy drunken noodles Im used to from my local Chinese restaurant. Flavor so good I couldnt stop eating them.Did I mention the people? Friendly and positive and responsive. Id order from here again and again, just to support these incredible people.Try it out with those dishes I mentioned. If I had one request, maybe a little more chewy on the drunken noodles. Maybe only because Im expecting that texture. The noodles texture of the dish I had reminded me of shrimp rice crepes from a Dim Sum restaurant.The flavor was incredible. The people are incredible. This restaurant is a gem of Costa Mesa.

This has got to be the best Thai food I have eaten in a long long time. The service is great, the food is beyond excellent. The flavors are absolutely on point, and the tofu here is out of this world- this coming from someone who hates tofu. We ordered the green curry, spicy basil rice, pad see mao and the son in law eggs. Nothing disappointed. I will be coming back here again and again and again.We almost decided to not wait for 40 minutes before getting a table - what a mistake that would have been!UPDATE: Went here a second time and got the Thai fried rice and crepe brûlée this time. The food is outrageously good, such distinct and balanced dishes. The 4 of us shared 7 dishes, and all of them were a pleasure. The ceviche featured yellowtail, as fresh as ripe watermelon. The Massaman with salmon was a perfect blend of spicy peanut and broiled fish. The shrimp were the best I’ve had in a long time. The cost of each dish is over 50% more than those two places but the quality is worth it. Casually hearing that Hanuman’s Thai Eatery was good is hardly the experience this casual food critic had the pleasure to enjoy. A Massaman Curry dish like none other found in the world gracefully serenaded my tastebuds and fulfilled a longing hunger defect from the toils of today’s work. Having sampled this dish in many places, Hanuman’s take on this traditional Thai cuisine is worth more than these hastily-put-together words written in the parking lot in front of their cute and quaint eatery. I travel to Orange County frequently for business and make it a point to go to Hanuman Thai every time my schedule allows! I wish there was a Thai restaurant even half as good in my hometown! This is a wonderful Thai restaurant that is a level (or two) above any other Thai restaurant in the area in terms of quality and preparation, and I would assume ingredients as well. Its certainly worth dining in over takeout, if you can. Food was good, service is poor. The waiters and waitresses don’t bus tables but instead prioritize take out orders, causing a huge backlog of customers to build up outside. We waited over 1.5 hours even though we were told our wait was 30 minutes.
