Food was okay, kind of bland and mediocre. The broccoli beef was pretty good. The wrap on the potstickers was thick and overwhelmed the filling. Food was served hot but they walked by us 3 or 4 times after we told them we were ready to serve people who walked in after we did.

Absolutely disgusting!! By far the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. My gf and I ordered chicken with vegetables, beef chow mein, egg rolls, and white rice. The chicken tasted like boiled white fish, beef was gross, the egg rolls tasted like the fry oil hadn’t been changed in decades, and the rice was dry and stale. The chow mein had more oil than noodles. Other than tasting stale/expired the food had no flavor. We threw the food away and ate elsewhere.

Service was super quick and attentive. The food quality looked good, but actual taste was bland and lacking definition. The fried rice was dry and tasteless. I didnt taste any crab in the rangoon. The cashier was unable to use a credit card that cant swipe or has a chip. I had to run my own transaction to show her how. Old school and small.

Ordered sweet sour chicken and won tons soup. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. The wontons were so nasty! Rice was terrible. Not sure how this establishment stays open!

My grandma, mom, and I have been going here for the past 16 plus years. The beef chow fun, sesame chicken, wonton soup, fried rice, it’s all really good and the people that run this place are good people. Always receive great service and they always remember my grandma by name.

Picked up take out for a friends birthday everything was perfect delicious couldnt have been happier. The ladies there were friendly and the restaurant and restrooms were clean. Place the order on my way home from San Jose picked up just before closing.

Poor service, almost got enough sweet & sour sauce to wet the chicken, not currently doing dine-in but takeout doesn’t include soup so $6.75 extra for what’s normally included. Food was okay at best. $19.25 for one person and less than adequate portions.

Highly disappointed with the food. We ordered combo fried rice, which had two-three shrimp, chewy beef & chicken pieces and severely lacked in flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was ok, the onions and peppers were not sautéed for long so they were still pretty crunch and my husband unfortunately bit into cold pieces of chicken. He ordered the deluxe won ton soup, which the broth was flavorful but the wontons itself were horrifically over done and mushy. Lastly, he ordered the dragons nest which the noodles he mentioned tasted like they were just heated up and thrown into the to go box. They weren’t crunchy or thin, they were simply the lo mein noodles. Overpriced for such lack of flavor.

Fantastic! The broccoli beef was tender and very good. Just enough crunch on the vegetables, perfect broccoli and thick cut sweet carrots, delicious! Pork fried rice was amazing, tender pork and just enough egg for texture, one of my favorite dishes for sure. The chicken salad was crunchy gingery fun while topping it off with some sweet and sour chicken. Waitress made sure we were well taken care of, perfect dinner. Well be back!!! ❤❤❤

Portions were huge but flavor was lacking.Food items were either bland or super salty.Felt as if food was microwaved before serving since it was extremely hot on the outside but barely warm on the inside.I did show up close to closing so maybe it was just a bad time (not an excuse on their part). Or maybe it was just a bad day.Will give them another go but first experience wasnt a very good one.

They made me feel welcome and relaxed. When I told them I am Vegan they made suggestions as to great food choices. They even told me I could get veg fried rice with no eggs! The flavors are very nice and I am satisfied very well.

Dishes were hit and miss. Fried rice, chow mein, sweet + sour chicken were good, but didnt enjoy the beef brocolli, 3 Ingedient Special, or the others... Dishes brought were dirty, had dried piece of food stuck on 2 of the 5 plates brought to the table. 2 of the 5 menus brought to the table had suspect hair in between the pages. Good value for what you get, but most likely wont be dining in again. Perhaps only order to-go what we enjoyed.

Ordered this via DoorDash, rice was dry and crammed to the top of the container. It looked like they dumped a ton of soy sauce on it or something that had no flavor. Also got shrimp noodles that had no flavor. The egg rolls were okay and the potstickers were very dry and also flavorless. This will be the last time I order from here.

I started working in Hollister recently and decided to try Happy Café based off reviews.I ordered the sweet & sour pork with fried rice, Soup was not offered as it was takeout due to covid.There were more vegetables & pineapple than pork and the fried rice had no vegetables at all. Just soy sauce and small amounts of egg. The overall portions are not bad, its just the lack of flavor.

The people here were the original proprietors of China Garden (was near Payless shoestore). The best Chinese food in Hollister is here. The cafe is small, pretty busy near peak times, but the menu is diverse; and take-out is a big part of their service. Yum!
