Enjoyed eating here. The prices are fair, the ambiance is good, and the service is good. Vegetarian offerings were available, not too greasy and flavorful. Wish eggplant dishes were available, though.

Food is the best in town. We have been coming here for years. It’s our go to each Friday. Grandkids love it too. When family comes into town they always want to go to Happy Garden.Love the food and the service.

By far the best Chinese food in Elk Grove! We were looking online for a good place to eat on a Saturday night and stumbled upon Happy Garden. We have eaten at most of the limit places in Elk Grove amd only tried it because of the high review score.You can tell the food was made to order and not sitting there waiting to be bought. Everything was perfect and very fresh. Even down to the soup! We ordered the sweet amd sour pork, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, walnut shrimp and cashew chicken. There was so much food for 3 people! The portions were very big. Customer service was fantastic. Pricing is very fair.Highly recommended Chinese restaurant! Would go back again and again.Thank you!😁

Amazing every time. The service is always impeccable and timely. The food is absolutely delicious and fairly priced for the large portions served. The atmosphere is split between cozy and relaxing for the dining room or uplifting and spirited in the bar area. Highly recommend!!

Mongolian beef very good and walnut shrimp very good but the House special chow mein was not good it was not freshly cooked! was very disappointed. This restaurant used to be a four and a half star restaurant pre Covid, the quality has dropped since ☹️

Happy Garden never disappoints…there isn’t a bad thing on the menu…now, my personal favorites are their Won Ton soup, sushi fried rice and sesame chicken…hubby has a much spicier pallet and he is never disappointed 😀😀😀

Weve been here twice now and made an hour long drive just to go there. The prices are great, the food is superb. We always get their daily soup, crab cheese wontons and egg rolls. Always excellent. Their muchu (not sure on spelling) pork is so good as well. We love it here and will come back for years to come. Thank you!!!

After trying many Chinese restaurants in Elk Grove to Sacramento, its been tough finding the perfect place for really good Chinese food. ! This is our first dining experience...orderedHot & Sour Soup, Hong Kong style chow mein, Fried wonton with cream cheese, Hot Crispy Shrimp with jalapeños and kung pao chicken...So fresh, the soup...spot on! The wonton, so fresh we had to let them cool off! The sauce for those was real sweet n sour, not that red colored watery syrup...as for the other dishes, so absolutely packed with flavor, the sauces were delicious and the meats, perfectly cooked...with crisp wok veggies...We have found our Chinese place!!! Love it and will be a weekly patron.The Oosterman family

So nice to go back to Happy Garden again. The atmosphere and service was great. Just as I remember. And the food was by far better than what I was eating at Bamboo Inn. Bamboo Inn is good and their lunch special and rice plates are good but Happy Garden is just a step above in taste. Because we ordered alot of food we had alot of leftover which I shared with another family member for dinner. So all good. Thank you Happy Garden!

Happy Garden is a family favorite. I love Fridays & Saturdays as their vegetable beef soup is always good. Filled with delicious veggies, beef, potatoes & hearty broth. Their combination plates are the way to go. Broccoli beef is super tender & cant be skipped. Hot tea, warm soup & good portions. Definitely a staple in EG.

Great food at a good price with really good portions. I ordered the dinner plate with comes with the entree and two sides (chow mein and rice) and also soup. Total was I think $13 but they give really big portions that you almost have to take a box home with you. For the price and the amount of food given, it is worth it. The food is delicious and the service is great.

Awful from the moment we walked in. It took them 15 minutes to ask if we wanted a drink. The po po platter was mostly bad, ribs were insanely dry like unusually dry...shrimp was overcooked, foil chicken overcooked, steemed rice was overcooked and separated like grains of sand - not sticky at all. The chicken in the chow mein was overcooked, the sweet n sour pork overcooked and COLD - not just the meat but even the veggies so it had been sitting for awhile. Lemon chicken was not tangy, and super soggy so that had been sitting. Curry beef tasted funky, we left that on the table when we left. When I told the waitress about the lemon chicken being soggy and the sweet n sour pork being cold, they didnt even offer to re cook them, and we never even got our waters refilled not even once.This place was packed and its beyond me how thats possible. They clearly couldnt handle the rush. Even with two dishes removed from our bill it was $65 bucks.Folsom Palace in citrus heights, would put this place to shame. Their customer service is impeccable and personable, the place is swanky and spotless and their food always incredible, FRESH, and piping hot. We spent hard earned money at happy garden and it was a waste. It was really just...bad.
