Happy Valley Village is amazing! The food is really good and authentic, and the portions are huge. Its perfect for a friends gathering. Our server was really nice and attentive. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be coming back next time!

I really wanted to say that I enjoy the food here, but I couldnt. The flavor wasnt bad, but it was salty; my stir-fried clam was very salty that I had to ask for a bowl of rice to eat with. Normal, I never eat clams with rice because I want to enjoy the seasoning and juice, but the restaurant let me down on this.Fortunately, the chicken pot was edible; it was salty but not overpowering.Aside from that, I enjoy the atmosphere and decorations of this restaurant, the style of ancient Beijing. Pretty cute.Ill be back next time to try another foo, and hopefully it will be better.

Happy Valley is my favorite northeast Chinese food restaurant. I have been there almost once a month. The iron pot stewed goose is the best dishes in my mind. I would recommend it to any first-ever customers. Also, the Mongolia goat is fresh and tasty.

We enjoyed an authentic dongbei food experience here. I highly recommend the Da La Pi (cold potato noodle salad) and the Lamb spine stew. The food and flavors are great but its a more subdued flavor compared to food from other areas of China. I recommend visiting with a Mandarin speaker. The nostalgic, retro Chinese decor was a fun plus.

Been here a few times with family and friends. It is not just a meal. It is an experience. I love the atmosphere and decoration of the place. It reminds me of the northeastern Chinese countryside when I used to visit when I was little. The cuisine is a type of cuisine that you dont see often in the US. Its call Dongbei cuisine. Its known for its bold and coarse cooking style. Lots of stews and salty flavors. Its also known for its big portions. Thats what its like in the countryside in Northern China. Definitely come try it out if you are adventurous and want to try a different type of Chinese cuisine. It is a bit of expensive, but you wont regret it.

Usually when there is cod here it is good.However, we went and the cod was out of stock. So we went with another alternative fish they had. The fish had super fishy taste and caused the entire soup to be filled with it’s icky taste. Disappointing experience. The staff also kept rushing us to leave even though there were plenty of seating booths open for both small and large parties.

A good place to try the Chinese Northeast cuisine. I will recommend the first dishes(五彩大拉皮), which is a mix of multiple colorful vegetables and rice noodles with sesame sauce. The second one clams in iron plate(铁板花甲)is also good. The third one the northest Braised goose with iron pan(铁锅炖大鹅) is a lot! We ordered one for two but it could definitely serve four people - but we also added some vegetables on it.

This Northeastern restaurant is located in the middle of a large square. The parking lot is very large and the traffic is very convenient. You can park a lot of cars. There are many meals in this restaurant. There are many private rooms. There are a lot of wine jars that look very interesting. The Northeast dishes here are delicious, but the stews in the big iron pots in the Northeast are very average.

Decent experience here.The appetizers were great and refreshing.The staff didnt explain how the breads and carbs worked before we ordered so we werent able to get any for our chicken pot (non-spicy).Parents were disappointed that they gave much fewer mushrooms than the last time they were here.Definitely helps if you speak Mandarin if you come, and even then we were a little lost.

First of all, our bubble tea from different store was CONFISCATED AND DUMPED right after we sat down. Workers barely speak any English, and have quite attitude towards customers. We ordered chicken soup, the whole pot came out pretty fast, and they put lid on to boil extra 10 minutes. However, potatoes were still raw, and the soup was so bland and no real flavor. There was a pressure from clerks to order extra food, and they were watching us while we were eating.

To the people who didnt understand how to eat at this place, they stew it on the table so its fresh. They tell you to wait 15 minutes and potatoes take longer to cook through. Theres the fish pot thats lighter in flavor, and goose thats heavier in flavor. You can choose not spicy, mild, medium, or spicy. You can order additional dishes to add into the pot. You can also order other cooked Northern Chinese stir fried dishes or cold appetizers. Its pretty authentic and delicious. The waiters and waitress were very patient to explain to us if what we ordered is enough food. There is a sign at the entrance that says no outside food allowed. First time here and I would definitely come back again.

A very nice place for Northern Chinese Pot Dishes. We ordered a whole fish pot with some additional ingredients, such as tofu, pork, etc.The iron wok cooks the fish and ingredients in front of you for about 15 minutes.Very fresh and delicious!Parking is easy and free. This place have above average banquet style Chinese dishes. And is my goto for dim sum on weekends.they gave a full dimsum menu but is a order by menu style instead of the traditional pushcarts. The menu style works out better due to space constraints and you dont have to wait for a certain dish to come your way and it might be all out when it gets to you. Im very happy the pandemic did not close them down for good.

During this pandemic, I wanted to support local businesses.I called them at 4:45pm to place an order. The guy on the phone told me, “we don’t open until 5pm.
