This review is solely based on my to go order. The first impression was that one of my mains was missing its mashed potatoes, and there was no effort to contact me to see if there was any other side that could replace it. On another note, the chicken kabob that I ordered was super dry. For 60$ of to go food that has elements missing and with questionable taste, I suggest going elsewhere to eat.

The ambience is good and the place looks classy. The food I would say was ok and not mind blowing. It wasnt crowded when we arrived. We ordered a shawarma, oven roasted chicken bites, beer battered fish n chips and Shrimp Ceviche.Definitely lot of scope for improvement.

When looking for a friendly neighborhood restaurant with delicious food, look no further than Hapy’s Bistro in Pismo Beach. The food is wonderful, staff attentive, ambience is great, drinks superb. The owner Nabil greets everyone with a warm smile, handshake and even a hug. Many locals dine here and it is almost hard to be there without seeing someone you know. We loved this place. Our server was excellent - memorized our entire order. The dishes are so flavorful my family couldn’t help taking bites from everybody’s plates to experience as much as we could. I’m excited to go back.

Visiting the area for work, I stopped in to order a gyro salad. Walking in, it was a warn, comfortable atmosphere and a touch of class. At the bar, I made my order, noticing the vast selection of alcohol, I decided to have a drink. The bartender and the people at the bar were just so welcoming. Oh, the food was awesome and delicious as well.

I was seated and offered to place a drink order while waiting for my takeout. The patio was busy! Large selection of beer and wine, and the servers were friendly. I got the swordfish and shrimp kabob with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend that dish!

I am only giving it 4 stars because of the extremely high price of the food. The appetizers were just as expensive as the entrees, but you got very little for your money. Great place if you like exclusive and dont care how much you pay for a little bit of food.

Casual interpretations of traditional and contemporary American- Mediterranean cuisine.In door, and patio dining. My favorite is to sit in the wine-beer bar area. Under the dark blue ceiling, twinkling with LED stars, and a occasional falling one. Enjoying such appetizers like, fried calamari, ahi tuna bruschetta, and Greek cheese sampler. My one complaint is the pale pink tasteless tomatoes they use.Great service, plenty of strip mall parking available.

Had the lamb burger with a Guinness. Burgers dont get much better than this. I skipped the fries and had a Greek salad which was also very good. The employees go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Will be back when visiting my daughter again!

Hapy is delicious! We moved away from the 5 cities in 2018 and have been missing Hapy ever since. The steak bites, falafel, gyro salad, and gyros are my fav. The staff is incredibly nice and make you feel seen. I think about Hapy often when craving Greek food, it was my fiancé and I’s favorite date spot. Can’t wait to come by for a dinner or two when i visit family in the fall! This is your sign to try Hapy if you haven’t already!!

First experience here, quaint and cozy with a huge patio out back! Had a bottle of Prosecco and ordered the beef, mushroom and onions charred, delicious the pita is devine! Crab cakes were small but well put together and delicious! Hubby had Shish Kabob and I had Beef Kabob, nothing was left out here, meats were more than tender and flavor was on point!

2022: I liked this place when I first tried them out, but I have kind of forgotten about them. We happen to be nearby recently and went in for lunch. I think this place is really good and under-appreciated. I highly recommend trying them out if you like Mediterranean food. Also it’s nice to have some diversity in offerings in the Pismo area, so please support them.November 2023: checking back in. We have gone here maybe six times now. Still really like this place. Definitely one of the better restaurants in the 5-cities area.

Stopped by for a quick beer as I have time and read that Hapys has a large selection. Very pleasant place, soft music and I got seat at the bar.The bartender was helpful and recommended a Allagash White. Crisp, citrus unfiltered beer. Very niceWill be back for the food with my sweetheart.I thought the ceiling over the bar had that certain feeling.

Chances are pretty good that I will not go back to this place. Service was pretty poor, food was mediocre at best, and felt like prices were too high for the quantity and quality. Pita was cold and did not taste fresh. Hummus was kind of boring.

This is a cute little place and the service was great. I went for a Christmas party and the staff was very helpful and on top of everything. Im not a huge fan of the food, but thats just because of personal preference and not due to the Bistro. All the food was cooked and presented very well.

Im new to the area, and this was my first time trying Hapy Bistro. The resturaunt had a casual yes surprisingly classy vibe. I personally adored the bar area and decoration of the area in general. I was attending with my family, and, to say the service we had was fantastic, would be an understatement.My personal taste did not match the food I ordered, and when explaining this to my waiter, I was met with some of the best hospitality I have ever received at a restaurant. Upon hearing my complaint, my waiter then recommended a secret menu item to pair with my food. When that wasnt quite fixing the problem for me, he then encouraged the notion that they would prepare another meal for me; which was then absolutely delicious!I would also like to point out that our waiter was so knowledgeable about the food prepared here, that we had believed he was one of the chefs!Needless to say, our glasses were never empty, and conversations were entirely plentiful. We fully intend on coming back and enjoying another wonderful meal here ♡

Finally got around to dining here and I couldnt be HAPYer! ;) Apps, entrees, desserts and cocktails were all on point! Started with the Ahi Bruschetta, Steak Bites and Mushrooms for starters, then the Ribeye and grilled vegetables for the entree, and finished off with the baclava, chocolate bread pudding, apple bread pudding, and vanilla ice cream. Flavors, texture, quality of ingredients, presentation, ambiance, service, etc. were all top notch. The owners clearly know and take pride in what theyre doing and it shows! Will definitely be back!

Delicious 😋! I love the ambience and the staff was super friendly and helpful but the food was amazing. I ordered take out and as I was waiting the server/host was very attentive. I ordered the crab cakes, ahimsa bruschetta, and the Tuscan chicken pasta, and all of it was amazing. First time Ive encountered multiple dishes tasting very well from the same place. Now Im like I shouldve ate inside the restaurant because it wouldve added much more to the experience. I would recommend this place if you are looking to relax, eat good, and have wine.

I was really excited to try Hapy after hearing good things about it from a couple of people. Unfortunately, I left very disappointed. The wine list is extensive, but the entrees were very expensive. Many were over $40. We ended up ordering some appetizers. The brussel sprouts were tasty. The fried calamari was so over fried that there was no flavor at all. The Hapy salad was a good size and had lots of fresh vegies and lettuce but had little to no dressing on it. We had to ask for dressing which did improve it. Overall, I would hesitate to go back. I wish my first experience had been a lot better.

Discovered this charming little attractive place with indoor and patio seating while staying at a local hotel.Lentil soup was excellent: clear broth, (not paste), tasty lentils with a hint of clove. So good and authentic.The chicken bites were mediocre and the most disappointing: a bit dry and lacking any of the feta/goat cheese as advertised. I think the intent was to infuse the chicken skin with the feta/goat cheese, but in this case, it only appeared in one piece. Otherwise, the large chicken bites were seasoned but bare of its signature topping. It sat atop greens with a decent lemon caper olive oil dressing.The veggie burger on a brioche bun was tasty, but again, came across as dry: it was swiped with a very thin swipe of hummus spread which would have worked better more of a schmear (were from the NYC environs originally!) to overcome the dryness of the thick brioche bun.We had a take out order so we didnt appreciate their well stocked wine and beer offerings. I did not observe any happy hour drink specials, however.We really wanted to like this place but found it disappointing. Dont know if well be back on our next visit.

This place was good, but not quite great. Went for vegetarian options, and though they were tasty, the Brussel sprouts were a little too raw, and bitter, the avocado tomato and cucumber salad was pretty, but lacked flavoring to tie it together - some zattar or similar would have helped. The service was very discombulated. The waitress claim she had been there for a couple of months but it seemed like a couple of days at best. The manager was Ill on that day and apparently the employees were trying to run the place on their own. Service was very slow. All the sodas were flat and nobody had a clue of how to fix it. Our friends who live near the restaurant recommended this place. We thought it was a liquor store. We had the fish and chips, which was excellent and the gyro sandwich with lentil soup, also superb. Nice little bistro with a wall if beer and wine. While the service was excellent the food was ok. The Moussaka was ok, it kinda tasted like lamb, but the menu said it was beef. Its certainly a very pricey little Bistro. Expect to pay over $30 per plate and closer to $50 for the pricier entrees. While the restaurant has really nice decor and the bar has an awesome ceiling, you are really paying for the ambience and decor, not the food. Enjoy the meal in a nice setting, but I think some of the hole-in-the-wall kebab places with really great middle eastern food is probably better value.

We ordered several items to be delivered and were very disappointed. I had the calamari appetizer and Caesar salad. The salad came with a lot of romaine off the top of the head of lettuce which was bitter and wilted. I couldn’t taste the calamari because it was over breaded. If I had been at the restaurant I would have returned my meal and asked for something else. My friend’s steak was over priced and overdone. We both felt that we were given the dregs of what they had on hand.. Very negative experience all and all.

One of the best pastrami sandwiches Ive had. I opted for whole grain mustard instead of regular mustard and it was amazing. Thinly sliced pastrami on a soft, decadent marble rye toasted to perfection! Melty cheese that strings with every bite and those French fries! Oh man, nice crisp outside with a wonderful soft inside and seasoned impeccably well. My wife got the chicken pesto sandwich and what a flavor power house!! Chicken was grilled so nice and so juicy. My friend wanted to go there because someone else recommend it to her. When we got there we got greeted right away. We decided to go to the back in the patio for our lunch. It was a sunny day and the patio has a cool view of the neighborhood. We were helped by jose who took our drink orders. Shortly after fabi came and help us with our order. Jose and fabi were really good at helping us decide what to get for drinks and food. The food was great the service welcoming and fabi and jose were really friendly. Ill highly recommend for anyone looking to have great food and good service.

In their retail section the prices of the 6 packs are unbeatable and not to mention their walk in humidor has the best selections and prices of cigars around. Short staffed and forgetful. We reserved a spot here for two birthdays and regretted it. It took almost 40min for appetizers to arrive, waiter did not check in.Normally if a long wait is happening an experienced server will come by with a compd appetizer (chips or something cheap generally) and see if anyone needs another drink... But not here. We were one of only three tables but it was clear the kitchen was prioritizing the takeout orders and basically ignored ours. How tough is it to prepare a hummus plate? I think maybe our waiter forgot our order? Or maybe both: forgot order, and takeout-first?!Throughout the meal the waiters were nowhere to be found, perhaps they are scared of the patrons. A good waiter will show up occasionally just to check in, and even if things arent going well in the kitchen, will at least provide a status update and ask if you want a fresh drink or offer something they can prep. Not here. At the end of the meal they did provide a free slice of carrot cake, which was a nice gesture but VERY late. Food was OK but pitas were cold from a package, falafel was fresh but made from a mix, from other reviews I was sad not to see anything fresh. The mushrooms in the mushroom hummus were good. Brussels sprouts undercooked but had a good charred flavor. Hummus very salty, baba ganoush OK.We had showed up expecting to order appetizers and then a full dinner and to celebrate a birthday. We were very happy just to get out of there after appetizers. A visit to the CVS next door for batteries was more satisfying (they didnt even have the ones we needed in stock and I was still happier with the service).I would compare the ambience to the feeling you have waiting for coworkers in a hotel lobby while on a work trip, in that situation where you showed up on time at the lobby bar and they did not; youve ordered one drink, and theyre taking too long just to appear. You debate internally: should I grab another white wine (or not) and go sit in my hotel room for a few hours doing work before I sleep in canned air? Or should I sit here interminably with my sad half-order hoping these delayed yahoos will show up and something we can call a dinner will, however reluctantly, materialize? A very lobby feeling -- very much in-between to someplace else -- and no, dinner definitely will not materialize.

This restaurant is awesome! The food is so good it makes it hard to choose what you want to eat because you will want to eat it all. They also have outdoor patio area which on a beautiful day makes it that more enjoyable. The staff does a great job they are very attentive. I highly recommend that you go and no matter what else you eat be sure to have the hummus which is served with soft warm pita!!! You wont regret it 😄

This place has the best grape leaves Ive ever had! I have been trying to find Grape Leaves since forever. The cheese platter was phenomenal as well. They had a wide range of types of cheese with some fun fig bits and pita bread. All the food we had was delicious and I cant wait to come back!

My wife and I always bring out of town guests to eat there and recommend the place to everyone, however the last three times we have gone its been really bad each time getting worse. The halibut was not only well over cooked, smelled fishy but rancid. What a great find! My first visit to Happy Bistro, definitely will not be my last. Tucked away in Oak Park Center, next to the former OSH in Pismo Beach. A great menu, even for the most finicky eater, me! Our party ordered 2 appetizers, yummy. I had an appetizer, as my meal, and still had some to bring home. A super selection of wines available! Came down to Pismo for the weekend . Heard a lot of good things about hapy bistro from people at the hotel as well as lot of positive reviews on google. Very disappointed in the quality of food. My wife and I ordered the lamb sandwich, calamari, Tuscan chicken pasta and hummus. For starters they told me my food would be ready in 45 mins, when I got my food it was cold. Calamari was soggy and bland, the lamb sandwich was dry and only had half a piece of lamb, the pasta was okay and hummus was not good. We ended up throwing out everything but the pasta. I don’t know if this was due them just reopening indoor dining just a week ago or them just being busy. Safe to say it was a very bad experience for my wife and I.

Ive tried this restaurant several times since they opened. Most times have been mid-day when there were only one or two other tables in the restaurant. I have found the food to be ok on most occasions... Nothing really to write home about. However, the service in this restaurant is always incredibly slooooow. Today I waited about 15 minutes after being seated to be greeted and have my drink order taken. My server then disappeared for long periods of time. Toward the end of the meal she clearly had left without giving us any notice. We then waited about 30 minutes at our table for a bill and no one came to check on us. We had to walk inside to ask for our check, where one of the servers told us to have a nice day and the rest of the staff were standing around the bar chatting.
