2023-08-28 05:18:32You can tell this used to be a Chinese restaurant. I knew it had been, but once inside you can still tell. The interior could use a remodel, but that’s ok.The service is on point and friendly. It wasn’t very busy as we went for an early dinner. The food came out quickly and was fresh. The sushi was good. I made the mistake of ordering the curry and rice without the chicken katsu. I thought there would be some chunks of veggies or something in the curry but there wasn’t. It was just the curry sauce. I won’t do that again. They currently have some 1 year anniversary specials for dine in that are pretty good. There is parking on both sides of the establishment.

2022-07-16 19:07:18$5 dine-in deals!? With inflation causing prices to skyrocket, its an amazing deal and better than what you can get from fast food restaurants $1-$3 menu. This restaurants location has had high turn overs ever since the original store from the early 2000s was here but I hope this sushi restaurant stays for the long run because their food is worth it.Both my friend decided to walk here since we live nearby, plus their parking lot isnt that big. We both ordered different rolls and some beer to enjoy. For a weekend evening, it was packed and there was a wait to be seated. Compared to other sushi restaurants nearby, I prefer this place because the chef is actually Japanese so you know the food is authentic, whereas other spots may have a non-Japanese owner/chef. Everything is what youd expect and well worth their price range. Like I mentioned earlier, their $5 dine-in deals is a bargain if youre on a budget and the options that they have arent too shabby.

2022-01-22 07:00:17Food 4 stars & Services 2 stars - legitimate Japanese sushi. Thick cuts. $5 dine in specials pretty good deals.Karage chicken $5 were soft and crispy on the outside. But it had the wrong sauce (it should come with mayo or spicy mayo) but it had ponzu sauce that you would get with soft shell crab. We had to ask for the correct sauce.Beef don $16 comes with miso soup but we had to ask numerous times to get it :( beef slices were over cooked and onions should have been softer. Miso soup is pretty good!!Mussels $5 - standard but I think it’s overly seasoned with soy sauceService wise: an order was delivered wrong to our table and my husband had to walk to server to get his attention.I would like to see the servers communicate with each other more and seat customers on a timely manner.

2023-07-18 05:01:51PROS:We drove by here and after a quick google search saw how cheap their sushi was! We stopped in on a rather busy Monday night and were thoroughly impressed by the sushi selection, size, and prices!CONS:It seemed like the chef was extremely busy serving multiple tables, but I think hiring another chef would be of great value to this restaurant. We ended up leaving because we felt if we ordered more it would take longer than expected and go past closing.* I ordered the Takowasa and felt the portion was a bit small for $9* The spicy scallop wasnt as flavorful as I expected / previously had at other sushi restaurants.

2022-01-20 04:21:42This is a San Gabriel gem!I’ve lived in San Gabriel for most of my life. We haven’t had a local Japanese restaurant in the area for quite some time. We especially haven’t had one that was Japanese owned and operated. You’ll often find the chef and owner working in the back. The food is delicious. We had the agedashi tofu, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and edamame to start. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was easily my favorite starter. The chicken katsu curry was my entree. The chicken was moist and perfectly breaded to pair with the hearty curry. My girlfriend had the tempura udon. She thoroughly enjoyed it. We also shared an eel avocado cut roll.We finished everything off with the green tea mochi ice cream and black sesame ice cream.Everything tastes like it was made from scratch. We will most definitely come back!

2022-03-31 03:08:23Had 7 types of Nigri - 5 of which were of decent quality (kanpachi, hamachi, salmon, maguro, and black snapper), 2 were meh (Saba, bonito). Shisito peppers and grilled yellowtail collar were excellent. Mixed tempera and karage were just OK. Prices were super reasonable with limited sushi/sashimi selection.

2022-02-04 03:22:27Expectedly excellent! Now open for dine in, this is a must do. Everything we had was fresh, with excellent balances of flavor. The grilled eggplant in miso was especially lovely. Brought back memories of being in Japan.

2022-02-07 00:24:58What a find in the SGV. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere, and GREAT FOOD. The cuts of fish were very generous and the curry rice were had was perfectly spiced and smooth. Will be trying to come here as often as I can…from the South Bay.

2022-02-06 06:37:18Ive seen this spot opening by my house so we decided to go on a weekend night, overall the sushi is fresh, what i like is that the menu isnt overwhelming with a variety of items but they have the basics but still serve Toro and sweet ship ( the sashimi version is pretty good)This spot is great 😊👍🏾
