When Im in the mood for some sushi, Healthy Japan is the spot you will want to check out.Ive been coming for years but recently became more passionate about food and helping people out with my review.My favorite it The Gilligans Roll,Shrimp tempura wrapped and topped with tuna, onions and some drizzle sauce that keeps your mouth watering.I love the crunchy shrimp with every bite and dipped in soy sauce with wasabi...Go check them out and let me know what you think..

The customer service was bland. Its like they didnt want to be there to service you. A bit pricey. I paid 20 dollars.I wanted add extra meat but had to order it as a side. I just ordered a bowl. It was not seasoned at allThere was only likened piece of broccoli & carrot (carrot was raw)More rice then anything.and also there wasnt any really no sauce and before I left I asked for an extra thing of sauce which Im glad I did. My chicken looked great but tasted burnt which was very unfortunate seeing I had to pay full price for a side of it. Ive gotten bowls from other places and paid the same price but it was seasoned great and more veggies. Overall D

The Seattle roll was really good. It included salmon, shrimp tempura, crab, & a couple veggies. Not very many drink options here but they play some pretty good music & the staff are lovely.

I ordered Samurai and Rainbow roll today. The rice was very dry. Both of them. Made me wonder if they made the roll 2 days ago and served it by simply putting the pre made spicy tuna on it. Rainbow made a day before wrapped in wrap. It was as bad as drinking soda without carbon or beer after 2 days you poured it. I would pay 6 dollar each not the listed price.

Customer service was okay, roll was okay, but I was disappointed to see that the jalapeño wasn’t unseeded or de-veined when I received it. It was a massive chunk on top of the roll I ended up picking off.

We ate here Saturday 3 of our party ate same item we had other meals .them 3 got food poisoning. Glad I didnt order that.Never will return. also hair in cucumber salad . Cook said just take hair out..no waste.

They need to serve more ginger.. asked for 5 orders of sushi and I specifically asked for ginger they only gave me two containers super small!!! paid close to 100!!! I think they should give you more and stop being stingy.. I paid for it.

I dont think ive ever thought of a place that deserves 5 stars all around but this place does frfr. I got the Nagoya roll and the a Tiger roll i believe it was called and they both hit the spot. and it was the perfect amount for me. Id definitely recommend this place. Wayyy better than winco sushi lol, which is what i used to get before I found this place. Also the inside is really nice and has some dope photos up. 10/10 fo sho you right on.

First time here, and I really liked it. It is a bit small, though. I ordered the tsunami roll, and It was good. However, I felt it wasnt spicy enough for my desires. Prices are reasonable. I will be back.

First off service was horrible and I feel like they didn’t want me there. I told them I wanted to eat in and spent over 80 dollars and they packed it to go. And the food wasn’t what it used to be, the rice was hard I thought the chicken had bones in it. And usually I don’t take the time to write a review but my experience here was horrible. I will not be going back, maybe next year but I miss the Tulare spot they were on top of everything

I ordered two Bento boxes with chicken, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna roll. Roll was okay but my salad had the inedible end of the iceberg lettuce. A huge piece and that was my salad. Seriously! I hope they see this and make a change. I would try them again. I can’t post the pictures here for some reason.

The Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was great. The Sushi was below average as they were the smallest rolled and thin sliced (got 8 pieces) I had ever seen for $17.Place was clean and staff friendly.

When I first moved to Visalia I loved this place. Then their prices went up. I still felt the food was worth it. I just went there today. Their prices went up again but the quantity went way down. The rainbow roll I ordered had microscopic pieces of fish and shrimp. I complained and they added more. But that should not be necessary.

The staff was fantastic! They are open until 8:30p and they took an order that walked in at 8:23pm. Very few places do that. They were friendly and didnt make the customer feel bad for the late order. Great job Healthy Japan!

I call in all my orders and when i arrive they are never ready on time. Have too wait atleast ten mins for two chicken bowls. Rice is always hard or never consistent. Chicken is terrible! Its hard and dry looks like they cooked it yesterday and poor sauce over it absolutely discussing place.! Ill never return since this has happened multiple times too me and my family. Go somewhere else were they take pride in there food and make it fresh....

Great tasting fresh food. (almost always... Ive had a couple meals when the ingredients were definitely on the farthest edge of what should be allowed to be served). IMHO its on the pricey side for what amounts to fast food sushi. Still, when I want fast service & take-out sushi (but yes they also have good food that is not raw) Healthy Japan is my go-to place... for now.

Its a hit or miss, and this review is for the multiple misses. Ive ordered from this place before and the first time it was awesome, then after that it was garbage. With all the specialty rolls that Ive ordered, usually 3 rolls per visit and after the second time I visited, the specialty rolls were 90% rice (hints why the specialty rolls are so big) I thought it was just the change in cooks or the time of day, the third time I went, the same results. If Im paying $40-50 dollars, I dont want my sushi rolls to be 90% rice. Ill take my business somewhere else.

Ate here last week. Food was amazing. I was accidentally overcharged. I called back and the owner was courteous and professional. I was refunded my money back when I came back in and the owner even offered me a free meal. She was extremely nice and accommodating. Def will be coming back. Will recommend as well.

Yeah idk why they canceled my order when I was right down the street. I was literally right there and they jus told me that they ARE going to cancel my order no other option that was it. So I definitely will be speaking to the manager there! I work in a restaurant and this is not excusable especially when I HAD called few mins ahead telling them I was gonna be a few mins late. So Im pretty sure they took my food that I ordered the salmon teriyaki home ! What a horrible service even though I was very clear with them

I have always supported healthy japan but went yesterday and was so disappointed. The rice tasted very soggy and cheap. Not quality sushi. Chicken bowl was good but the carrots are so hard. Wouldnt recommend due to the quality of their food decreased.

I go there cause college is closer. Everyone is seemingly getting the teriyaki bowls. Try the beef! Mmmmmm... There always busy and seats are most likely to get full if you dont get there on time when it opens first. Also lunch is where its busy so it will suck if you have to go take out or wait for someone to at least let you have that seats. Customers are nice. The presentation of the sushi is in spot. I love sushi, but I like to try different things and if you see Jumbo there so Big !! . It will definitely will make you full. The price is fair. Go try it out.

The sushi is always good and I recommend Texas Roll (tastes like chicken teriyaki), Tsunami Roll (spicy and fried), also the Wisconsin roll (tastes like beef teriyaki). Rolls are pretty well portioned too compared to Gozen or other more expensive places.

Absolutely awful service. They tried to charge us 40 dollars for a meal that was under 20 dollars. When I proceeded to explain why I thought the price might be inaccurate because it did not correlate to the prices I checked online before going to the establishment, they completely disregarded everything I had to say. This was the first time Ive ever actually been inside of a Healthy Japan. Ive had leftovers from there before. My girlfriend and I both ordered the chicken bento box and damn, the food is awesome! I ate everything...lol.The only reason for 3 stars is the atmosphere. Not the happiest or most comfortable place.Bring your appetite, and youre golden!Enjoy!

My gf and I used to come here until our recent lunch which was so horrible and runined it. Our meals were not worth of service.... not even for a last meal for a death row inmate. My chicken cutlet was old, dry, and tough which are signs of having been made the day before then microwaved. Hopefully the day before and not earlier. My gf’s tempura was douple dipped and fried once more.....another sign of reusing old left overs. The batter was atleast 3/4 of an inch thick. The sushi rice on our roll was stale which is a sign of having been refrigerated. I worked at a similar style Japanese restaurant for 10 years cooking and making sushi, and these are the same frowned upon things my coworkers used to do. Its not hard to tell when you are being served old food, so why try to serve it when people can tell.

Great teriyaki bowls. Their rolls are really pricey though. For $13 you can go to Gozen or 5th Quarter and get a massive roll that will fill you up.Dont get me wrong, the Tsunami Roll is delicious, but it is a bit small and doesnt really fill you up.
