My husband and I ordered two MILD (wasn’t spicy at all which is what we wanted) sandwich meals which each came with fries and a drink. I also got an order of fried pickles (I wish they came with ranch but they were very fresh and good). And last we ordered the Mac and cheese with the chicken on top and it’s a good lighter Mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious and everything had really good flavors. The slaw and pickles were perfect on the sandwich. The meal also comes with a tangy sauce that we used to dip our fries into. My husband literally said it’s one of the best chicken sandwiches he’s ever had. We will definitely be back.*the only thing we’d change is we wish they had high chairs

Killer sliders and tenders and Hot wasnt an understatement, those tenders had some bite and the fries had an awesome season too. Service was quick and super friendly, happy to chat about the new space. If we lived in town wed be back on a regular basis. The fried Oreos were an amazing dessert.

Stopped in for lunch during a long drive, location was great since its close to 101. Chicken sando was delicious, fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Skip the chain restaurants and eat here instead. I got medium heat and it wasnt hot, so dont be afraid to step up a level. Service was top notch as well, very personable and friendly.

HH Invitational is super fire. By that I mean super spicy. I have tried many different chicken places that have popped up over the years. This is by far the hottest. But there’s a catch. The chicken tasted so good and was seasoned with wonderful taste.🔥🔥🔥Waiting for the rebound tomorrow morning. 😆😆😆😆🤦🏻‍♂️🎉

My wife and I were on our way to get lunch at a different place, and she got a quick instacart job to Hellahot. She made her delivery and we decided to stay for lunch.We both ordered the Sando, mild. A chicken breast sandwich topped with coleslaw and pickle slices on a bun. Fries on the side. Let me preface this with the fact that we usually share our meals because we dont want to eat too much. We ordered two of the Sandos because, hey, how filling can they be? Holy moly! The size of the chicken breast was enough to choke a horse! This particular horse managed to eat every delicious bite. The heat was perfect, though you can get lotsa heat if thats your thing. The fries were seasoned just right. They had the just right level of crunch and seasoning.My wife saved half of hers. Dont tell her, but I ate it for lunch the next day.This was a VERY GOOD chicken sandwich. Sorry, Chick-fil-A, but I have a new favorite.The staff was great, too. The owner/manager, I presume, couldnt have been more accommodating, and one of the employees (again a presumption) was friendly and helpful. He could actually hold a conversation without grunting or looking down.I dont usually get too excited about restaurants, but I think this place is the real deal.

HellaHot in SLO is a legit hot chicken spot! 🔥This was my first time trying it, so I went for the Sando with fries, Hot level, there are two levels more above this one.It was not as hot as I thought it would be. If your a Hot chicken sando lover the heat is just right.I’m definitely trying the Hella Hot level next time. The convinces are there’s a NiteCremery ice cream next to it just in case you get too spicy!!

Just got done with my HH Invitational slider, and I just want to say that it was hands down the HOTTEST chicken sandwich I have had in my life. It was also one of the tastiest, with great flavor in the slaw, fresh quality buns, and a massive piece of chicken to top it off! The service was excellent when I picked up my food, and the sandwich is something I will never forget. Keep up the good work HellaHot, Ill be back.

The chickens aight, good balance of spice and flavor even at the higher spice levels. Chicken is juicy and tender. But its the mac and cheese that really makes this place stand out. Instead of elbow macaroni, this mac has rotini noodles so the noodles are firm and not soggy!

The hot tenders had great flavor and spice. The fried pickles are delicious. Great service as well. The meals might seem pricey but the tenders are big and a plate can feed 2-3 people. It’s tucked away in a nice little food court in downtown SLO. I’ll be back all the way from Lompoc. Dave’s Hot Chicken doesn’t have anything on this place.

Got the tenders and the mac and cheese at the farmers market and oh baby were they good. The tenders had some heat but tasted delicious and great crunch on the chicken. The mac and cheese was the perfect consistency and flavor. Cant wait to go back and try some of the other levels of heat!

Just had some of the best fried chicken nuggets and mac & cheese ever! Got the Hella hot seasoning and the hot seasoning, it had an awesome kick! Just as good or better than Hattie B’s in Nashville. Thanks Jeremy for making my birthday so special! We’ll definitely be coming back soon.

After trying the 3 main hot chicken places in SLO (Jaybirds, Hella Hot, and Daves), Hella Hot is the winner for me. After being a bit disappointed with Daves when it launched, I was still craving a good hot chicken place. I saw the Instagram ads and decided to try it out. I was not disappointed and actually happy that I found a solid hot chicken place! The sauce is very tasty, the seasoning is more complex than others, and the spice level is on point (I believe I just got the standard hot). Although not as conveniently located for parking, Hella Hot is definitely my go-to.

There are so many fried chicken spots around here lately that it can be hard to stand out. The fried chicken sliders I ordered at Hellahot were fine. Similar to the competition, Id say, but nothing really stood out.We also got a side of mac n cheese, which was disappointing - the cheese sauce was split.I actually liked the style of fries they serve here, but one order we received was hard and crunchy like it had been sitting in the warming tray way too long, and the other order was clearly undercooked.I see potential here. The ingredients are good, they just need a bit more attention to detail to nail the execution.

Went to this place on a whim and was not disappointed! Chicken was super crispy, and the pickles were thick cut and delicious! The cashier hit the perfect spice level when I asked I want hot but not uncomfortable too. Perfect sandwhich for this cold night!

I visited SLO, and my family and I ate at hellahot. The Tenders tasted amazing, as did the fries. It had to have been some of the greatest fried chicken I have had in months. I highly recommend trying hellahot.

Last night we happened to be in SLO and we heard good things about this place and folks weren’t lying. This place is actually good and full of flavor though in my opinion it didn’t beat Dave’s Hot Chicken. I hope they get better with time but overall I’d recommend them!

Waited for my food to come out for ~40 min. even though there was no line at the time. Manager told me it was almost ready multiple times then offered to comp my food since it took so long. He said it would be credited back to my card but it never was. Food was good but service and wait time was not worth it.
