Just tried last weekend with my family. The Malatang reminds me my school time in China. Almost the same taste as in China. My wife likes the dry pot. Definitely will come back often.

I recently dined at Hi Pot and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The restaurant offers a wide range of choices for hotpot, with a great selection of meats, vegetables, and other ingredients. I appreciated the variety of options, which allowed me to create a customized meal that was perfect for my taste preferences. The food was of excellent quality, with fresh ingredients that were perfectly cooked. I particularly enjoyed the spicy broth, which had just the right amount of heat and added a wonderful depth of flavor to the meal. The price was also very reasonable, considering the quality and variety of the food that was offered. Also, they offered free sweet tea. However, one area where Hi Pot could improve is in their staffing on Sundays. During my visit, it seemed like there was only one waiter on staff, which led to some delays in service. Despite this, the waiter was incredibly friendly and did his best to keep up with the demands of the restaurant. With more staff on hand, Im sure the experience would have been even more enjoyable.Despite this minor issue, I would highly recommend Hi Pot to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying hotpot meal. The food is of exceptional quality, with a wide range of choices that are sure to please any palate. The price is also very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food that is offered. If youre looking for a great hotpot experience, Hi Pot is definitely worth a visit.

Talk about being surprised in a good way. I was planning to try another restaurant but ended up here instead. I came here during soft opening years ago and I wrote this restaurant off because at that time the food didnt taste good and most importantly there werent enough frogs in the frog pot to warrant the price. Im not sure whether they got their act together afterwards or they changed ownership/chef but the food improved dramatically. Not only is the food great tasting but also even the individual pots have enough stuff. I love the flavors. One reason the food tastes so good is because they lightly fried the food before cooking them in the pot so the flavors are baked in. Its a popular restaurant so they are definitely short staffed but be patient and the server will get to you. They also dont allow you to overextend your stay before closing time so if you go close to closing time, be prepared to eat fast. However these are so minor compared to how great the food tastes so I didnt deduct any stars off. Overall the best dry pot place in the bay area.

There aren’t too many places to get dry pot around here — this is a solid offering. We definitely prefer the dry pot to the hot pot here. Portions are pretty generous, and I find medium spiciness to be a good level. I definitely recommend ordering white rice alongside the dry pot so that it’s not too overwhelming. This spot doesn’t generally seem too busy, and service is minimal but fine.

Pretty tasty drypot but a little oily. The free lunch iced tea is a bit sweet but goes well when diluted with the water. Good service!

I really love both the drypot and hotpot here! My sister and I both dont really like mala flavor specifically so we got non spicy for both and it was still super flavorful. Plus it made it easy to drink the hot pot soup which had a garlicy creamy bone broth flavor that was super rich and tasty. I got the pork drypot and added a bunch of stuff like fish fillet (recommend), taro, fish balls with roe, and mushrooms. I dont regret adding any of these extras and I had a good amount of leftovers. I really liked the pork belly. For appetizers we got the stinky tofu which was tasty and the garlic taiwanese sausage which is a classic that I always love. The sauce was good with the stinky tofu as well. Overall Id definitely come multiple times and I highly recommend it!

Went on a Saturday, during lunch time had ~5-10mins wait to be seated and 20-30mins for the food to be served. They have options from not spicy to very spicy. Food was good, the fried potatoes that soaked up meat juices was great. Lunch also has free rice and free tea (which was too sweet in my opinion).Heads up All dry dishes have protein in them so its not really vegetarian friendly. The presentation of the food in little baskets were very nice.Free parking areas around the restaurant.

I’ve been trying to find a dry pot restaurant in the Bay Area after having Mala Project in New York and this did not disappoint. The flavors were great and everything was tasty. Definitely come during lunch to get a bowl of rice and tea on the house. We ordered a large for 2 people and it was extremely filling. I’ll be back!

We had order spicy soup with self choose ingredients and fried ingredients with really strong flavors. Both tasted ok for me and lunch time would serve a cup of green tea which was fantastic! The flavor was quite strong thus not my type. But it’s very popular during the weekend, I would like to go again in winter.

Perfect place if youre craving a dry pot. We ordered a DIY large pot with frog legs, lamb shoulder, and lotus root. Large pot might feed 3-4 people comfortably, or 2 with lots of leftovers. Not the fanciest of places, but very tasty food and good price for the portion :)
