I ordered 9 items and none of the items stood out. If anything I was more disappointed than anything. With dumplings, it usually has a healthier aspect so I was expecting it to be boiled or steamed but, most of the items were deep fried. The potstickers are overly fried and the spicy wontons and scallion pancakes were also fried. I kept cutting the roof of my mouth. The soup dumplings were not plump or juicy and the hot and sour soup was spicy and bland. The beef noodle soup was good, except it was tomato based so I was not expecting it at all, it should have been labeled as Tomato Beef noodle soup and not just beef noodle soup. The beef roll had pickles in it .... that was interesting. I wanted to try Hidden Dumpling since I have never been, but I much rather go to Journey to Dumpling, which tastes much better. However, the service was good and while walking out of the restaurant, the combo plates looked huge!

Walked in after errands. This place is a hidden gem! The walnut prawns are huge and the Mongolian beef is to die for. Even their steam rice is so fluffy and the hot tea is piping hot!This is a busy and clean place. Tables are for 4 people. Small dining area, but I highly recommend the food. Watch their expert chefs cook. Full house for a weekday lunch. Be patient with service. This looks like family owned and a lot of people ordered for To Go and dined in while I was there.I highly recommend this place.

I was craving dumplings so I decided to give this restaurant a try. We were not disappointed.The staff were very helpful and kind. The restaurant is small but there is outside sitting. I ordered the fried potstickers, fried wontons and the Sweet and sour combination plate. It was more than enough for two people and we had plenty of leftovers. They also serve milk teas. I would most definitely be returning.

Saw it on TikTok & all of my group of 3 & my toddler enjoyed it . I gave the atmosphere a 4 only because it was a lil hit in there & when they serve you your food it’s scorching hot ! So being in a hot place while I’m eating hot food isn’t ideal, but overall we all loved it & will be going back fashoe ! I got the Orange Chicken Combo Plate & everything on my plate was bomb & looks all freshly made.

Wife wanted chinese food, and our usual spots spots were closed it was a little past 9 pm.So we decided to come here because this was open. Let me tell you this place was good actually it was better than good. It was great the wife loved ithat better than our regular spot. She said the food had more flavor. I have to agree the food was very flavourful, hot fresh. The service was great food came out fast. We got there right before the rush came in, and then they got pretty busy. Overall It was good. I will definitely be back.

Food was overall satisfying. Just thought Id try it out since I pass by here on the daily to work. The soup was warm and pleasant with the weather that day. The fried wonton dipped in the spicy (about mild) dipping sauce was okay. Just not spicy enough for my preference. The pork bun was amazaing however! Took a little longer to get it but it was steaming hot! It was hot and juicy so be careful!! As for the beer, I just thought why not try a Taiwan Beer. I dont day drink I promise!! 😗😗

Ordered 4 dishes between the 3 of us. Cho fun okay, xiao long bao tasted homemade. Dumplings were small and pretty bland. The dish made me so angry was scallion pancake. Costed me $9, just 2 pieces of tortilla pressed together and sprinkled with some green onions on it. No 2nd time.

Nice place, clean with good service. The food however, lacks flavor and quality! The chicken smelled and the sauce was very bitter. I got a sharp spiky thing that almost cut my mouth in my food! I guess the food was not fresh I had very loose motion after it avoid this place if you value your health!!!

Chowmein was cold and had absolutely no flavor, the soup dumping meat had a weird taste. They were cold also. The walnut shrimp was ok, but have had better. Would not recommend this restaurant.

First, theyre dog friendly. Theres only a few tables outside in front of the restaurant. Thank you Elk Grove dog community for not descending there while we dined, our Chi has a bit of a Napoleon complex.I digress. The Chicken Chow Fun - filled with chicken and veggies. They have Egg Foo Young (off-menu), great! And the Fried Calamari was absolute heaven! Please dont judge me for the overuse of exclamation points - this place earned them.Lastly, the service was attentive but not hovering and pleasant. I cant wait to return to NorCal to try some of the dumplings (my Honey is carb-phobic, Ill need to go there with my SIL instead).

This is a disgusting place. They are not honest about their food. I ordered dumplings and Chinese burger. Both of them tasted like frozen maybe even worse than frozen food. Don’t ever try this place. So disgusting!

Lunch menu most items for lunch was under $12.00, which I thought was reasonable for the quantity & quality. But, the Bok Choy dish (veggie only was also $12.+, which I felt was too priceyVicky, the server was very nice, pleasant & accommodating. The General Tsao chicken was delicious. Sweet & sour Chicken was a bit too overcooked & hard & had only 2 pineapple chunks, little onions & pepper. The fried chicken wings had too much batter.The beef noodle soup was ok. We also had Mongolian Beef which was very very spicy. The dumplings had too much dough.The lunch came w/steamed rice only. If you wanted chow mein or fried rice, it was $2.00 extra.

Terrible service！The plates, bowls and spoons we received were not washed clean，and after wiping them with napkins there was a lot of grease and food residue on the napkins!We standing and waiting for 30 minutes, the waitress saw us and ignored us.We didnt get water after being seated.They will never offer to serve unless we ask them to!We spent another 25 minutes waiting for our food, but customers who were seated later than us and had just finished ordering received the same order earlier than we did.The food was not good, the service provided by the waitress was terrible, it was a waste of time! Worst dining experience ever!

Food is mediocre at best. Never the correct sauce or sides that you ask for. We have been multiple times and never correct. Disappointing because I wanted to like it. Also doesnt help the owners drives her white bmw suv through the parking lot like she owns elk grove and almost hits people and children then reverses into the parking spot directly in front. But hey try it for yourself.

This is our favorite restaurant in Elk Grove, hands down. We eat here regularly and have loved every dish. Its the freshest Chinese food Ive ever had, it doesnt feel heavy at all. The best part is that they can make almost every dish gluten-free, which is especially amazing for a Chinese restaurant. I was able to eat dumplings for the first time in almost a decade! Everything is made fresh, so it can take a bit for the food to come out and it is worth the wait. Staff is always very friendly and the Boba is delicious. Im so glad we have this fantastic, non-chain restaurant in Elk Grove!

Had a wonderful meal here last night. The restaurant is super cute, clean, and the staff is wonderful! The food is great too and I especially appreciate the care with food allergies. The gluten free sweet and sour chicken and vegetable rice noodles were delish and I really enjoyed the egg flower soup. Portions are big and the service was super! I look forward to visiting again when the weather is warmer to try out the outdoor dining. Great place for a family meal.

Good Chinese food here. The dumplings I tried were ok, but the Chinese food was much better. Service was a bit slow at first, but picked up after help arrived. Even while understaffed, the lady working was clearly doing her best to serve everyone. I am definitely going back and will try some of the other dumplings next time.

Hubby and I have eaten here several times. The first time we went we tried the special chow mein with pan fried noodles. Now we crave it. Have been back several times and thats still what we order. It has chicken, beef and shrimp, plenty of veggies and nice crunchy noodles. The gravy is some of the best we have tried. Very friendly service, our food has always been hot and fresh, good size portion. Very happy we found you Hidden Dumpling.

Food = delicious!!!! Its a very small place to dine indoors. We waited 30 minutes to be seated which was fine but once seated we did not get water for another 10 minutes. Food took another 25 minutes to get to us. 5 mins in-between each plate. I got mine, waited 5 then the next person, so on and so forth. One girl running around trying her best. Once we got the food it was SO SO good. Just wish they had more staff and attention to their customers. We would go back maybe on a random Tuesday or something!

Much better than Panda. Their combos are worth it for food quantity alone. Quality is standard nothing really shines out as amazing. My wife is impressed that they have dishes from northern China but they dont meet her standards for mainland Chinese food not to mention those dishes are pretty pricey for the quantity/quality.

This place is so great! The service was fast, and the food was amazing! The lemon chicken was the perfect balance of lemon and sweet. The spicy fried wontons were so yummy, they could have been more spicy, but you can always add more spice which I did with the chili oil they had on the table. The chicken and cilantro dumplings were my favorite!Thank you for a wonderful meal tonight, we will be back time and time again

Service and atmosphere was great. XLB was more on the mild side in terms of flavor. The spicy wontons are served fried, Id prefer if it came pretossed with the chili/vinegar mixture. Ask for their house chili oil for a more fragrant and spicy chili oil to pair with the dumplings.

Brand new restaurant...Picked an order to go: deluxe chow mein, wor wonton soup and paper-wrapped chicken.The paper-wrapped chicken was good-- but needed (in my opinion) more Hoisin sauce. We added Hoisin sauce ourselves, and it really helped.The wor wonton soup was really good. Lots of additional goodies, lots of tasty dumplings and-- as always should be with any soup-- an excellent chicken broth.The best dish was the deluxe chow mein. Lots of additional goodies (chicken, beef, pork and shrimp in addition to veggies)-- but-- the noodles! Best noodles Ive had in a long time. So deliciously chewy, just how I like them.Good value. We got dinner for two with leftovers for lunch for two for the price of a modest dinner for two.We will definitely be going back.Will update this review as appropriate.And heres the update... UHave now eaten here at least half a dozen times. Their cooks are so good. Vegetable and meat items in the same dish are perfectly done. Vegetables vastly different in texture are perfectly done. The zucchini and broccoli in my pan-fried noodles tonight were both perfectly done. The noodles readily afforded that perfect bite: half crunchy, half softened by the sauce.Portion sizes are very generous-- Ive never been able to finish even a lunch-sized combo plate.Very reasonably priced-- especially since youre getting another meal in leftovers. You can get a really good meal that fills you up for as little as $11.99.Very friendly, but not intrusive waitstaff. Upgraded to 5 Stars (from 4 Stars).

Got notified from Yelp there is new dumplings restaurant in Elk Grove. We went to try it right away next day, and we were little disappointed because there were only 4 dumplings dishes and many Chinese dishes. Pork and cabbage dumplings were good but needed a good spicy sauce. Fried wonton dish was little bit dry. Garlic eggplant, Mongolian beef and mopo tofu were very tasty with little hint of spiciness from Chinese peppercorns. The chef said that they will add more dumpling dishes and more Chinese dishes if they can find more helpers in the kitchen.

I really like the Mongolian Beef here. Portions are big. I like their chow mein too but the fried rice is meh. I can pass on the dumplings too. Service is overall good... I had a weird encounter my first visit when a server refused me a milk tea bc a large party had ordered drinks and he was behind. I guess it was only him making the drinks? but otherwise good experiences coming here.

Terrible! Came out to support and tried new place in town. This was worse experience ever dining out. Costco frozen potstickers are much better than here. And the service, had to wait 20 minutes to get a table and didn’t get water until about to finish my food and it wasn’t even busy with only 2 tables.

A great little Chinese Cafe who seems to be fans of corgis 👍🏼. They have the basics on the menu although I wish they offered a salted fish & chicken fried rice like the more traditional cafes. We did have to remind them of our drinks order and unfortunately we did not get our waters but Ill still return for the good food.

A cute, quaint, small restaurant with delicious food and handmade dumplings. The only other place I know of is The Journey to the Dumpling but they always have a ridiculous wait time. This place is Brand New with a local family owned owner. Cant go wrong.
