We have been wanting to go to this place for a while. My son, his girlfriend, and I had a great time. All the food was delicious, and the servings were more significant than expected. We brought a lot of food home with us to eat later. They will ask you between 1 and 10 how spicy you want your meal (with one being very low and ten being very high). I picked five and will pick four the next time we go. The service was also friendly and quick.

Best lamb and eggplant dish ever. The chicken masala super as was the chicken curry.this is a well kept secret in our neighborhood. We also had the lentil soup it was just perfect., it was a good balance to the spice level of our dishes. Love the garlic naan bread.

Decided to try a new place and regretted it. The food looked fine but lacked flavor which I didn’t think was possible for Indian food. My partner and I were surprised that the 4 items we tried, they all looked like they should taste great but only the chicken tikka masala was good. The other dishes didn’t ask for spice level which was a first. They were not good. However, for someone that can’t handle spicy food, maybe this would be a good place to try.

The lentil soup was great to start of ( which is a free soup you get ).Cheese Naan is great specifically for a toddler.Momos wouldn’t recommend as it was not good.Goat curry was amazing, authentic and simple delicious.Servers were really helpful and nice to talk too.

A delicious and filling experience! You cant go wrong here, everything is amazing. The flavors are earthy and really pop. My friend got a salmon dish that came out with the fanfair of steamy goodness. I had a vegetarian dish of spinach and cheese that was top notch. The samosas are out of this world. Hurry up and go there now!

Wow, the food is very delicious. Compared to other establishments serving this cuisine, the flavors and freshness of the ingredients seemed much better.Ordered chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Although everything is wonderful. I am put off by the 15% service charge on my bill. That was a real surprise. We had a party of 10, and I thought the service charge was gratuity until it was pointed out that I am expected to pay another 15-20% gratuity. Ouch. This service charge turms me off. Maybe its a new thing, but I am an old guy. I like the old ways. More transparent when I can select my dishes with no surprises.

We go to dukes across the street all the time and noticed this place so we went to give it a try. In terms of atmosphere its nice. Plenty of tables plenty of decorations theres music going on so it seems welcoming like other Himalayan restaurants. In terms of service it seemed like the workers either didnt like us or dont like their jobs. Only nice one was a lady that came by but everyone else seemed annoyed with us and were giving us blank stares while we tried to order or ask questions.As for the food this isnt the first Himalayan place weve been to theres an amazing spot down in Chula vista so I was hoping this place could compete with it but I was very disappointed. Not that the food was so bad it just tasted very plain for Himalayan food. Like I said I go to another spot that have more flavorful curry and different kinds of Naan like cheesy Naan. The lamb Tika Massala was alright. The lamb was very tough to chew the cury was alright I was expecting it to taste more rich in flavor but the spice level was good and accurate. There were 3 of us we spent $83 in total but I dont think it was worth it at all.

I ordered through ubereats. The chicken Tikka masala was delicious. I got spice level 5 out of 10 but could have gone hotter, I like that they have this 1-10 option for spice. I also ordered the vegetable samosas which have potatoes and peas. They were really crispy and tasty. Everything was hot and packaged well. Id definitely order again.

The restau was conveniently located near my hotel and some shopping areas. I was their only customer when I got there. I ordered some Mango Lassi and Lamb Tikka Masala for take out . The drink and food were good but they definitely need to improve their service, the host at least :)

Authentic place. First time trying the food here and it was delicious! We tried mango chicken and a malai kofta and both had very good spices and flavors! We chose medium for spicy rate and at medium (4) its spicy but not enough to over power your senses. Everything looked and tasted fresh. I also tried a mulligatawny soup. It was okay, Ive had better at another restaurant but our 2 main dishes were so yummy. They have so many different dishes to try so we will definitely be back!

Cozy little Himalayan restaurant. Parking isnt an issue and we were seated very quickly upon entering. Theres plenty of tables, great decor, and decent prices for what you get. I ordered the curry (comes with a side of basmati rice) and the Old Monk 10,000 Super Beer. The beer was great, very refreshing and came in a cold glass. The curry was flavorfull and paired well with the basmati rice.

Im not saying this is some of the best Indian food, or Himalayan food, or whatever, Im saying this is some of the best food Ive ever had in my life.I like my naan bread a little crispier and Im sure I could ask for that next time. That is the only possible complaint about the food.I had the lam Rogan josh, the Himalayan biryani, and the vegetable Pakora with mint sauce and tamarind chutney.Flavors for delicate, Meats were perfectly cooked, presentation was gorgeous. This place was quiet when I came in, but the staff was warm and friendly. I’ve never had Indian food before, but when I asked what they recommend they pointed me to the chicken korma. It was so good. I got a spice level of about 7/10 and it was the perfect amount. Though I believe the portions are a little small I wasn’t mad given I was eating alone. I also decided to try the mango lassi, padads, and I got a side of buttered naan. It all hit the spot and I think I’ll be eating more Indian food because of it.

The service was really bad overall. We kept trying to get someone to help us and theyd walk past us and ignore us. Finally we got someone asked to move to a larger table and not a booth and then were ignored for a good 15+ minutes. Barely got water/tea after finally someone came to help us.We ordered the food and one dish came out 20 minutes before the rest of our tables dish. They tried to explain some reasoning that they make all the dumplings at once and bring them out at that time to all tables. Well we waited a good 20minutes for the rest of our food to come while a member of our tables got cold.The food was not good, nothing like what I remember from previous times. The next day I havent felt good from eating it. Unfortunately I dont plan to go back after the terrible service and the food being not up to par, multiple members of our table didnt feel good the next day from different dishes.

The place was quite busy on a Sunday noon. May be thats a sign of quality ? After waiting for 5 odd minutes I was able to get into a table. I ordered Bhat-Dal-Torkari as I wanted to have an authentic Himalayan/Nepalese experience. But the whole dish felt like Indian/Bangladeshi to me. Even though I admit that I have never tasted Himalayan food. Are they really that close to Indian food ?Anyway the food was great nonetheless even though it was bit expensive. 1 star less just for the price👍

If your priority is to dine-in at a beautiful place,then this is surely one of them. Though you will find more of Indian food than Nepalese. It’s ok until n unless it tastes great. But, if your priority is good food, I won’t suggest this place at all. Every curry taste almost the same, Sweet, watery, taste of raw spices you can easily tell.We ordered a plate of pakodas and 4 cups of tea. Pakodas were oliy and tea was ok. Though I still will give pakodas 3/5.Chicken tikkas was great in the looks but tasteless.For dinner, we ordered one veg korma, paneer curry and aloo-gobi curry. And I must tell you veg korma and paneer curry was exactly the same in taste. Aloo-gobi was not properly cooked as it seems they prepared it at the last moment.

I like to come here during my lunch break. They don’t have lunch specials, so all their dishes are dinner sized portions. I always get two meals out of one. I’ve tried their curry chicken and butter chicken, and really like both dishes. One gripe I have about many Indian restaurants is that the chicken often tends to be dry, but the chicken here is extremely soft and tender! Food is flavorful, and the service is great.

Waiter was rude, we sat down and asked the waiter if they still had the lunch special, he said no, said something under his breath, sounded like an insult, gave us a dirty look, and walked away. we would of ordered if he wasnt rude, so we left and he smirked as we walked out, we ended up eating at el torritos, had the best waitress. I will never eat here again, I order from here alot, there are better indian restaurants in downtown san diego and I would rather drive further than be treated poorly. My favorite dishes to get are hands down creamy chicken korma with fluffy garlic naan, and crisp flavorful samosas as an appetizer. I enjoy coming here with groups of friends because the owner is amazing and attentive, service is fast and friendly, and the food is always delicious - served hot and promptly. Been here a couple times and have take out from here when in town every so often. Have not had a bad dish. The biryani is the dish to get if you want a lot of food. Lots of vegetarian dishes and lots of meats. Really well spiced and three stars is pretty good heat for those with a more sensitive pallet to spicy foods. The place was quite busy so we assumed it must have good food and is popular. Perhaps we got there on a bad day. The soup we started with was a little over salty. I ordered a shrimp curry with Naan. Once all the food was placed on the table I told the waiter we also had a Naan we had ordered. He said its coming. Well it never came!You know how most sit down restaurants will come ask you mid meal how is everything? Well that didnt happen so no way to tell them my Naan was still missing as thats what Im supposed to eat my curry with. Trying to flag down someone was impossible as no one once looked in our direction or walked close to our table. At the end of the meal I asked to speak to the manager. I explained what had happened. He listened and was mildly apologetic. Said he wont charge for my meal.As we started to leave another patron had heard our conversation and she said she too felt ignored when she needed to flag someone for her meal issues.Clearly it was not just me that got sub standard service.The food was so so. Ambience was interesting.Service not so good.Unlikely I will be going there again.

Oh man, this place is incredible. I came really hungry with a couple of my friends and left ridiculously full, with leftovers. The malai kofta was the best I have ever had, and I get it at every restaurant I can. They served us a wonderful lentil soup to start, even people who dont like lentils will like it. Very similar to Indian food but with slightly different spices. All meals come with their wonderful lentil soup. Discovered this restaurant by accident when they just opened. We start bringing others, including my out-of-town guests. Others seems to liked it too and they started to bring all their friends in. Never tried Nepalese food before, but it was pretty delicious. It was not crowded on a Saturday afternoon so we were seated quickly.We ordered the butter chicken, eggplant, and vegetable rice. We also got the bread basket, a combination of plain, garlic, and onion naan. Everything was good, especially the different types of naan. I could see the Nepalese influence the most in the eggplant and the vegetable rice because it almost seemed like fried rice and stir fried eggplant.Overall, the food is good and it was nice to try something different. We had a great lunch with the lunch specials where you can choose 2 items. I had the chicken Tikka Masala and the chicken Vindaloo. Others had the garbanzos and the butter spinach, etc and all were excellent. Lunch specials on Saturday are an awesome bonus too. Service was prompt and courteous with no complaints.Lots of traffic on the parking lot until you get there so be a little more careful than usual. Overall I would highly recommend choosing thus for Nepalese and Himalayan good and especially if you want to try new kinds of foods in a place that does them well.

I did not care for the food or service. The place was clean including their restrooms. They mixed up the spice level between our two main lamb dishes. The mango lassie was overly sweet.

Qualifying as Top Notch, A+, #1, and is true for the excellently prepared delish 😋 yum yum too good to pass up. You go, you try, if its not the best... 👌 its definitely 5 🌟 to be sure. Went years ago when it first opened... And visit the food store right next door.

Quality service, quick and responsive. Fairly large menu and decent execution (flavor is fair but not amazing. For the area its great). Pleasant ambiance. Employees are pleasant and seem happy working here.

Like Indian food? Yeah this is better. I could wax poetic about the staff, decor, ambiance... honestly just let the food speak for itself. Im not very experienced with Indian/Himalayan food but I will argue where the group eats in favor of this establishment over anything else comparable.

Best, nay the greatest Indian food in San Diego. The preparation is home style, spice level can be adjusted without compromising flavor. We got lamb makhani, chicken vindaloo, bhindi masala, brown rice, garlic naan, paneer pakora and mango lassi. It was all under $70, a full feast for at least 4 people. The ambience is authentic, so is the food and your servers. This place has been the best Indian food for me in over 10 years, quality, quantity and taste has not changed. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

This is a quiet little place that is a bit deceiving from the outside. Its located in a small strip mall, and from the outside it looks like a standard store front. Once you get inside, they have carefully arranged the place to separate you from the exterior and create an experience. The food is excellent. This is worth a try.

Second time coming here.This time we had lamb curry n shrimp curry . both 7 witch is not that 🔥.not disapointed, it was good enough for 2 people. u can get bread or rice we got both, the bread is fresh made n the rice is on point not dry.if u cant pronounce what u want just order by the number. Fantastic food, awful service. We never had a one, single server, but ended up having to call whoever was around when we had been waiting for too long. One guy in particular, who said his name was Daoah or something along those lines, was absolutely the rudest server Ive ever had in my life. When wed been waiting a half hour for refills, I tried to wave at him since he didnt look preoccupied. He shouted out the most sarcastic, rude sounding yeah Ive ever heard. When I asked for more to drink, he told me to hang on and straight up walked away to find someone else to take our orders. When I asked for his name, he refused to give it to me at first and laughed at me, asking why I needed it. The entire experience with him just felt like he didnt care or didnt want to be working there. So I sure hope he or his manager sees this review, so that he wont be working there for much longer. Poor guy obviously needs a break 😭Aside from that, like I said, the food is amazing and more than made up for that guys nasty attitude. Well probably go back again for it! I highly recommend the lamb tikka masala and the chicken momo, definitely worth the extra splurging!

I usually dont complain too much because I like to see the positive in most experiences, but this was just bad.I went here for the lunch special for 8 dollars, which is a steal. I got the chicken tikka masala and the veggie coconut curry which is mixed Vegetables cooked with coconut in Himalayan herbs and spices. I also got a side of naan in addition to the naan that it comes with.Our food came out after what seemed like forever, and when it came out it was totally bland. They also didnt ask how spicy we would like the food, which is customary at Indian places. I would have liked mine with a little more flavor because it was almost unpalatable how bland everything was.As I mentioned before, service was extremely slow and they only refilled our water once. Also, the music was literally driving me insane. It was really repetitive and annoying.All in all this was a negative experience, probably will not go back here

Ordered from the discount lunch menu which is available from 11am to 1pm. No complaints, clean restroom, nice environment, food is extremely filling, so good. I feel like I should have tipped my uber customers who told me about this place lol

Maybe because it was Sunday and I ate the lunch special but... The food had ZERO flavor. Tasted as though they made the dishes without any spice whatsoever.Guess I should have dished out $15 for something else and hoped the price difference was the cost of the spices.Still doesnt explain why thr mango lassi my wife had was also terrible though.

Love this restaurant. Authentic, delicious, well priced dishes. Definitely try the Pakora! There is an Indian/Nepalese market adjacent to the restaurant which offers a wide variety of spices and Nepalese gifts. Highly recommend a visit.

The best in San Diego for Indian/Himilayan cuisine! Everything I get here is so delicious and flavorful. You gotta try the butter chicken, cheese naan, and samosas.
