Himalayan Kitchen truly impressed us with its Nepalese culinary journey, attentive service, and cozy atmosphere. It’s an excellent choice for a special night out. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of the authentic Tibetan Nepalese taste in the beautiful ride of highway 101. It was easy to find, and parking was convenient. The pricing was justified by the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

This place is a hidden gem. The people are so nice and attentive. The restaurant overall looks clean and organized. The many is simple and with variety of dishes. I order the Chicken Marsala and I was so surprised by the explosion of condiments hitting my taste buds in my mouth. It was I can taste every spice but was not so overwhelmed by any of them super well balanced and with a fresh essence to all. The mango chutney is my favorite and at this restaurant they know how to make it right. I’m definitely making it my place to go for Indian cuisine. Oh and the butter nut squash soup was simple yet so furling. Cooked fresh to order and served hot on the stop, I love it.

Top three dining experience in 2022-3: outstanding Nepalese cuisine that is super delicate, fragrant, flavorful, and complex. The confluence of all these things make every dish exceptional. Unassuming at first, but you taste soon enough that every bite is telling a story, and somehow you have nostalgia of something you never experienced. Its like missing a place youve never called home, or tasting a small piece of history youve never partaken.The lentil soup, pakora, Kukhura bhanta, and Baingan bhartha were super, super brilliant. I dont know the last time I was so genuinely excited to find a restaurant, where I loved every single dish, and wanted to try every other menu.

This place is so good! A must visit if youre in the area! The servers were polite and quick, and made sure we felt welcomed! The restaurant itself was quiet, relaxing, clean, and filled with the delicious smells from the kitchen! The food itself was incredible! Everything came fresh, and we were even given the option of how spicy we wanted our food, which was great because not all of my group was as comfortable with spices as I was, and so everyone got food they enjoyed! The momo platter was a huge hit, the naan was super enjoyable, and I highly recommend the chicken tandoori!

Highly recommended! Food is amazing, mild curry is not spicy at all (but delicious), and the best part is you can ask for chili sauce (very spicy btw) and everyone on the table will get their preferred level of spiciness. Proteins are perfectly cooked and tendered. Service is great. Atmosphere is cozy. One of the few restaurants in the Bay Area that Im willing to travel and visit again. Cant wait to try out other dishes!

Visited with high expectations. But was a bit disappointing. The menu is pretty overpriced compared to the taste. Picked up the following:1. Pork momo- Decent dumpling size but the momos were little hard.2. Chicken Momo- This was nice. Slow cooked chicken and the momos were tender.3. Classic chicken curry- Disappointing. Very blunt in taste. Chicken felt stale and cooked in a haste. No hint of garam masala, gg paste and aromatic spices.4. Garlic Naan- Soft and tender.5. Dal Soup- This is is horrible. Just boiled yellow lentils with lots of garlic and tomatoes.Avoid if u have other options.**************************************04/09/2023- Sadly couldnt find a better way to reply to this arrogant restaurant owner who forgot his nepali roots I think. I am not spreading misinformation. Buddy, you are so prejudiced that you even took my positive reviews 2,4 and defended yourself against it. I am from a border Indian state to Nepali and I think I know nepalese cuisine better than what you fed me. Yes I could not recognise the carrots in your daal soup as because you boiled it to such an extent that it become tomatoes. Buddy I know nepali style chicken curry. You have to make it with the skin. Anyway you wont understand as your customer base is different and keep them pleased. No point of arguing as I wont return. Loosing one odd customer like me wont make much difference to you I think. What a gem in Central San Rafael! Their food is a joy to your heart. So refreshing and you can sense the melange of ingredients they use in their dishes are fresh. Samosas and MoMo are must try!We loved their lamb curry, Biryani and mix veg curry.Just the perfect balance of spices that will not overpower your taste bud. Get that Kashmiri or Garlic basil Naan to complement your curries.Everything in this place is heartwarming.

This is good food. I got the chicken tiki masala and I asked for it to be mild. They brought me a little dish with some spicy sauce so I could customize it. It was perfect with a bit more spice. It was nice they were so careful about it since I originally asked for mild. Also I’m allergic to dairy and they made it with coconut milk instead of dairy. That was great. I also got an Arnold Palmer to drink and that was good.

I cant give this restaurant enough praise. I went tonight for the 2nd time. Ordered many new things and some of my favorites from the first visit. Food is 10/10. Service 10/10 . We were even given complimentary lentil soup as we had ordered so much food! Soup was amazing. Highly recommend going with a few people as I have so you can try many dishes at once. Go there...you wont be sorry! And you get to pick your spice level!! Im not fond of spicy food and they accommodate any level of spice you like for every dish!

Scrumptious! Try any Himalayan Momo choices. Homemade dumplings with delicious dipping sauces both mild and spicy. Friendly waitstaff from Nepal and prompt service. Clean with a wide open seating area. Highly recommend!

I stopped in for dinner and was met with friendly staff. I ordered chicken malasa and chicken rice and it was delicious. You can tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality. Such amazing food. The restaurant was clean and the table seating is eloquent with table service available. I ordered to go and it was neatly arranged and was hot and fresh when I arrived at home. Definitely will be back for the amazing food.

Food was excellent. I had the lamb saag ((lamb in spinach sauce). Comes with choice of rice (brown or basmati) or Naan bread (plain or butter). I glucose butter Naan. Got 4 huge pieces. The lamb was tender and succulent. You could tell it was freshly cooked and had not been kept warming to dry out. Dining room was bright and airy with pictures and TV monitors. On the TV were scenes of Nepal. The service was excellent. Even though it was just the 2 of us, the waiter suggested the the table for 4 would be more comfortable; he was right. There was no rush, we took our time perusing the menu. Our dishes came in a short time. Price was reasonable as both of us had enough to rake home for another meal. Will definitely go again to dine, already thinking about what to pick up on my way home from work. Parking was not an issue since the restaurant is af Montecito Plaza.Definitely worth checking out.

Was nearby getting my motorcycle serviced and decided to stop by for a lunch. Staff was welcoming and warm. I ordered some chicken momos and a mango lassi. Both were excellent. The momos were delicious and the accompanying dipping sauce was a perfect complement. Well done chef. Tasted very much like the stuff back home.

I just went to Himalayan Kitchen for lunch (they are under new ownership as of a month ago). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The people are so nice and the food was very high quality and delicious. Craveable. We had chicken Himalayan chowmein and vegi/tofu masala. I cant wait to come back and try the naan and the momos and the sizzling plate (forget what its called). Decent prices and definitely enough for leftovers. So happy its in my neighborhood.

The food is excellent. I first tried it in an event they catered and was happy to hear they opened a restaurant in Marin. Best momos I’ve had since Kathmandu. Loved everything from the bouncy wrapper to the giant, juicy fillings and the home made sauce. You get a choice of mild or spicy sauce (it brings a very tasty heat) or both. We got the mixed platter with veg, pork and chicken. It lasted about 5 minutes. The service was fantastic: I was offered a sample of lentil soup while waiting, and it was so flavorful and tasty I devoured it completely. Going back for dinner!
