I simply love it here.The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in India yourself and the people are kind and pleasant…My favorite is the 𝑃𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑟 𝑇𝑖𝑘𝑘𝑎 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑎, however there are a ton of other delicious options available. Amazing Halal food! I enjoy every bite, the lamb and chicken tikka masala are my favorites. The staff are really nice and they will treat you very well. Very convenient for me to stop by for a quick lunch then head back to work nearby. Let’s meet there one of these Thursdays. 👍🤗

Serviceperson is friendly, 1 plus star.Parking is at the back and always plenty available, I didnt see it and drove around, so you dont have to ^_^Goat meat is the best one, the chopped red and green peppers are fresh, crisp, and soaked with the meat juice, very enjoyable. Goat meat is tender and savory.Other dishes are light and true to the original Indian and Nepalese flavors.Garlic naan is decent too.Momo is authentic, but if you have tried Xiao Long Bao or Ding Tai Feng, you can skip this.

Great spot for authentic Indian/Himalayan food. Ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer, chicken momos and chicken choila. The portion sizes were good and it was all tasty, especially enjoyed the choila! The only thing I’d say is that the service was a bit slower and less attentive. Overall though, highly recommend!

AMAZING FOOD! 10/10 highly recommend this place!!I have been getting their lunch specials for almost 3 years now, at least 2 times a month. It is my go to for lunch and probably the best curry I’ve ever had. It is delicious every single time. They are consistent with the quality of their food! Had a delicious dinner here! Service was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. Garlic naan is a must. We got 2 dishes on the vegetarian menu, and split them, both were fantastic. I’m sure that’s an indication that all the food there is delicious. Paired with a large Indian beer!!

I am so happy this is my local Indian restaurant. I can’t say enough good things about it. The tikka masala is delish and the paneer dishes don’t disappoint. They have all kinds of menu options. We went here for a four generation family meal and everyone was happy and thoroughly satisfied. The Palak Paneer was better than any Sag Paneer I had ever had. Biryani was cooked just right and the lamb vindaloo was so flavorful. Service was excellent as well.

Hands down the BEST Indian food in SD :) everything is fresh, delicious, flavorful, and prepared beautifully. Priced at a great deal because the portions are generous, enough for two meals at least. Most of the food items we ordered were not good, unbelievably tasteless like whoever prepared them has not tasted them before bringing them to the table. The worst thing happened was not that though. We stayed a few min.s past 9pm just because our toddler was still eating. It was not even 9.05pm, there was this guy shouting from the front “lets go, lets gooo”. Like seriously? Are you trying to chase us out?? We felt bad and stepped out of that place soon, my poor son could not even finish his plate. Very ill mannered dude that was!

THE BEST FOODI have eaten from here probably 25 times at this point, including a variety of dishes, and I can safely say that this place serves incredibly delicious Himalayan food with no qualifications.On top of the awesome food, they are fast, kind, and affordable. I often find that a $14 dish will last 2 full meals, which is just ridiculous value!This place is a must-have in the weekly rotation of takeout places in Encinitas.

Our younger son discovered Himalayan Kitchen for the family shortly after you opened, and we are were just as impressed with the (take out) food yesterday as we were when we had our first sit-down meal with you. Awesome authentic food and they are not afraid of making it spicy for you! They really take great care with ingredients and quality of spices in the food. Once you try this place all other indian/Himalayan food will taste less bright and muddled. Cannot recommend this place more.Update: been ordering from here regularly for the past three years and the quality and reliability of this place are still exceptional.Updated Update: unlike many other restaurants that reduced quality, service, or offerings after the pandemic, Himalayan Kitchen has upheld all aspects of their business and still provide the best Himalayan food in North County. I really love this restaurant. Their samosas are my favorite thing ever. Dining in is really nice, which is awesome for a date, and the food comes in really pretty dishes. Tried this restaurant (via Grub Hub) on a whim instead of the old tried and true. What a GREAT surprise. I love curry and cant find one like mom made with Sexton Curry from the 40s. This restaurant has it going on! Wow. I am instantly a huge fan. We had four curry dishes, three rices, several levels of heat to add and a fabulous mango chutney (Thats hard to find too.) Two flat breads came with the delivery and everything was fantastic. Where did this place come from! Please, dont ever leave!!!

I read reviews of this place and decided to give it to go because at least on Yelp it looked really favorable. Service was good and the people were professional and friendly. It was the food that did not quite delight me. It just seem to be missing that little bit of spice and flavor to put it into the category of excellent. I think the cost was reasonable so it might be worth another try, but I walked away a little bit disappointed after expecting excellent food based on the reviews.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is pleasant, however the service was poor. We got there before it got busy and it was difficult getting any attention after we placed our order. At the end of the night we waited for a our waiter (the host) to bring us our check, but after seeing other tables get up and go to the front to close out I ended up doing the same. I then found out that they over charged my credit card for the wrong table and they didnt know how to refund me and ring up my bill. They gave me back cash and didnt even have change in their draw to give me my change. They definitely need to train their staff how to use a register and have a couple more waiters.

Great for lunch with inexpensive choices on the weekday lunch menu. The food is similar to Indian, but less heavy. I like the strong taste of the rich mixtures of spices used. The goat curry is my top choice, but all are good. This time we learned that one should ask for one spicey hot, and one not so hot dish. Another great hint for groups who want to share is to ask for double orders of the curry choices and separate plates for each.

Best Indian spot around. Runs on the spicy side so tone down your order if you dont want to get burned. The atmosphere is pretty unique with himilayan mountain photos and prayer flags hanging. And the naan bread is fantastic and they give a lot of it to you. Also the portion sizes are perfect for the price.

Such good Naan (plain and onion are good, while the badami was interesting, but the garlic cilantro is the best), as well as the vegetable samosas, chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka (comes out on hot plate), aloo gobi, aloo matar. My favorite dishes, however, are the Nawaratan Korma (Vegetable Coconut Curry), Vegetable Biryani and Chicken Biryani (although when I had the Vegetable Coconut Curry with the lunch special, it wasnt quite as good as the dinner dish). My kids and I also love the chicken tikka masala. The spiciness of the curry dishes seems to vary a lot. Mild/2-3 is good, medium/5 can be pretty hot with some dishes, but not hot with others. Their lunch specials are a great deal (lentil soup, which is pretty good, two curries, rice and naan) for $8!! Kingfisher beer, and the Woodbridge and Bella Syrah wines were good too. Friendly service.

This is my first time visiting this place and I tell u I have been to many other Nepali restaurants but I have never been this disappointed with the restaurant. My kids loved this restaurant and theyre notoriously pinky eaters. The garlic naan was a favorite for sure. I got the tandoori salmon which was delicious. Extremely disappointed. We ordered a chilliChicken for starters and we got a half cooked chicken. The sauce was not even marinated on the chicken. We ordered a chicken Biriyani and a chicken curry. The Biriyani had no salt. It tasted like colored rice. When questioned about the Biriyani, the owner stated that it is a North Indian Biriyani and does not taste like dum Biriyani. Even though it was North Indian it did not have any flavor. In the end we were not charged for the Biriyani. The chicken curry was the same chicken as the chilli chicken. We got the vegetable samosas for appetizer which was really tasty. I tried the palak paneer and it was quite flavorful. My husband had the paneer chilly which he really enjoyed. We werent able to finish our mains though we ran out of basmati rice. So they packaged our leftovers and gave us more rice to take home. Service was great as they kept filling our glasses with water and promptly brought out our food. We will definitely be going back to try the other dishes!
