In short,It’s an ok lunch spot for ramen.With a fee more details,Typical Americanized ramen place as soon as you walk in. Great. Clean.Food was ok. I got the Tonkotsu. Broth was delicious but everything else was ordinary. Mostly noodles and bot much anything with it so spice it up. I don’t think the black garlic was black garlic. And my bowl came without the half egg it promised on the menu. They brought it in after I complained…Spicy Tuna on crispy rice was very delicious so I recommend that if you end up eating here.Water was infused with lemon and such things so it had seeds and other remnants but I had no clue so at first I assumed there is something in my water.The lady would was waiting on us, hated her job and needs a lot more training if she wants to keep doing this.She was impatient for us to choose something knowing very well that I just sat down and don’t even have a menu. She had a bad attitude and it’s like pulling teeth to get napkins, to ask a question, to pay…Now that we arrived at payment, they automatically charge you 16% gratuity without warning or asking, which is a no go for me. That service did not deserve me to pay 16% for it…Maybe that’s part of their problem. Dock her pay and she’ll get it together? Not sure but I’m going elsewhere next time.

I think this is one of the better ramen spots I’ve had across LA. The broth here is so rich and flavorful, definitely has a distinguished flavor that makes you look up at your friends and go “WOW.” The noodles were also on point. Their karaage is also solid.

After trying a variety of mediocre vegan ramens in the area, I feel compelled to write that this vegan ramen was the best Ive ever had. The broth was rich and creamy and the variety of veggies as toppings helped elevate the dish and flavors. If you are in the mood for a filling (I brought half home!) and well balanced broth with a great sesame base this is your spot!

I came here expecting the ramen to taste amazing. But sadly, I was greatly disappointed that it was so average. I find Ramen Tatsunoya to taste better. And, I sure wasn’t happy when they added a service charge of 16.54% before taxes. Won’t be returning.

I got the tonkatsu ramen. The broth here is amazing. It kind of tasted like seolleongtang soup which is a Korean milky beef bone soup, but a pork version of that. The food tasted clean and simple as it should. High quality bowl.The restaurant is quite spacious inside, given that it’s on a busy street. Service was pretty solid.

Creamy soup, garlic, chewy with the right amount of firmness noodles, yummy egg, and pork 😋 A mix of deliciousness!!I first heard about this place from my friend and loved it when I tried it!I wish there was a dipping noodle that wasn’t spicy but the tonkotsu ramen was and always is delicious 😋😋We also tried the mochi ice cream (green tea flavor) and it was delicious!!Service was great and we had good seats. We walked here so we didn’t have to worry about parking.The bowl is a perfect size and filling but not too big.Also, their AC is at a perfect level where it’s cooling but not freezing and after you drink the soup, you don’t feel stuffy.

Pretty darn good ramen. The noodles were a little soggy. I would recommend the thin noodles. They have cool infused water. Their broth is very rich and flavorful. The appetizers are really good. Overall a great ramen place.

Seldom have I taken the time lately to write compelling, Pulitzer-award-worthy reviews on here, mostly cause my recent dining experiences have been unremarkable and Id rather do the business a favor by not leaving a review than by leaving a 3 star one. That all changed today when I came to check out this location of Hiro Nori. Im well-acquainted with their Irvine location, since I lived 5 minutes away from it for 3 years. I already know their tsukemen with their hideous Bonito fish based dipping broth is not worth the energy it just took my fingers to type that, so I decided to skip that and went for the combo of Tonkotsu, salmon poke bowl and salad. Every single element in this combo came together to form an amalgamation of near-fine-dining-experience caliber. The salmon poke bowl alone is such a solid choice (it can be bought individually for 10 dollars but its better just bought as part of a combo). The Tonkotsu broth is rich, palatable and thick, the sliced pork is delicious, and the noodles are cooked to perfection. This is truly a solid experience in my first foray into Pasadenas dining scene, and hoping (but doubting) that it can be eventually topped by another ramen shop in the area. いただきます！

Came here with a BIG group and they skillfully accommodated us and got all our orders out quickly and the ramen was exquisite! Most of our group love ramen and everyone loved this place. Great staff, great food, definitely worth checking out if you like ramen.

Came here for dinner with some friends on a Thursday night at around 6pm and it was empty! Service was great.I ordered the tonkotsu and tried my friend’s shoyu ramen and both were delicious. Garlic is free so I did add a healthy serving into my soup. Both had spinach in it, which was new to me, but it wasn’t bad. The broth wasn’t super salty, which is the way I personally like it—I drank all of it 😅

I had a nice workday tonkatsu ramen lunch here. The food came to the table fast and was tasty enough. I admit, its not my favorite, but I would return for a quick workday lunch...with the caveat that I asked for the bill and a box for left overs right when the food came. Although the dining room looks nice, I found the music too loud and the air too cold.

The food was very tasty. I was a bit disappointed with one small aspect of the meal. I ordered an extra piece of pork. In the bowl one of the pieces was at least 80% fat. When I asked for it to be removed from the check, I wasnt met with the best response. Its worth noting it was $1.90... Overall, this is a good spot of Ramen. Priced well too.

This is a contemporary restaurant serving delicious hot ramen, umami rice bowls and simple side dishes. The Tonkotsu ramen is my go to order here; the pork is soft and tasty, the broth just the right degree of salty. The rice bowl with salmon and tuna is light yet filling. The rice buns with marinated pork belly are too sweet for my taste. This place is worth a try especially on a cold day.

The vegan ramen is delicious! The broccoli in it is amazing!!!! I want a whole plate. The broth is the perfect amount of creaminess and theres a nice spice bite in it. The noodles are perfect, not a big clump and chewy and dense.The service is great.They have Arnold Palmers!Only suggestion would be to have another vegan option.The music was really nice. We tried HiroNori and loved the ramen. We’re Asian from LA and lived in Tokyo, Korea and China for 20yrs. So we appreciate fresh made craft noodles. This place is legit. High quality ingredients. Good broth. Great Pork. Good flavor. Had Tonkotsu and Shoyu Ramen. Both superb. The one reason I’m giving this a 3 instead of 5 is cause just after we started eating, the wait staff sprayed the table next to us with disinfectant cleaner, blowing towards our direction. Thing is there was no one sitting on the opposite side. It makes more sense to spray that way instead of towards us. We could feel the spray breeze approach our bowls and tried to cover it. This should never happen to begin with. Japanese restaurants are known for high standards and basic etiquette. It’s built into the culture. And when I looked at the waiter with discomfort and realized what he did, he should have offered to change the food as a result. But we trooped it out and chose to eat the food rather than call it out. I’m not sure what they use to clean, but disinfectants aren’t a good ingredient on any craft ramen. Efficiency of cleaning up after a guest leaves should not precede interrupting the dining experience of another which results in a negative experience. And even if they say it’s a “non tipping” restaurant, which is the norm in Japan, nonetheless, a 16-18%? service charge is added. Which is… a tip for service. But in this case I would’ve chosen not to add a tip nor want to be billed a service charge given the circumstances above. We know times are tough looking for service staff. But we sincerely hope this gets fixed. Because we love us a good ramen. Especially this winter. And want to come back. Thank you.

Decent ramen place. Good soup based thick ramen noodles. Us 4 tried different flavors. We were impressed w the ramen and delicious fatty pork; fatty, flavorful and grilled to perfection. I ordered a spicy cold noodles. Though the red chili oil looked deadly, it was not as hot as expected but it did leave a lasting impact on my tongue 😜.

Good ramen. Not a fan of the crispy chicken (karage) nor the salmon bowl. They gave so little salmon in the salmon bowl. The table next to me had the chicken bowl and had way more meat in it. I prefer the thick noodle over the thin noodle.

A new decent Ramen place in Pasadena. We came here so excited about the hand made ramen. I ordered the shoyu ramen and my husband ordered the tonkotsu ramen with the small side.Both of the ramens were great. The broth were tasty and the pork slices were thick. My husband ordered his tonkotsu ramen with thin noodles but he would have preferred the thick noodles in the future. The noodles were great but I really couldn’t tell a difference if it was handmade or not. Same as the shoyu that were advertised to have been fermented for 2 years. I need to go back to regular ramen store for comparison now.The less one star is the poke bowl and salad that we paid extra with the ramen. They were pretty sad... the salad greens were sad with the dressing on top. The poke bowl was sad too. The salmon look like it has been sitting in citrus marinade for too long and the proportion of fish to rice were off (too much rice). We looked over our neighboring table and saw the beef rice bowl looks better.

First time trying this place. The chicken was tasty, but not as crispy as I would like them. The dipping sauce was interesting, not sure what it was, I think it was sesame based. Now onto the ramen - the soup was delicious and slightly creamy, not too fatty. The chashu was thick 🙌 with a bold, delicious flavor; perhaps one of the best Ive had compared to ramen places. They gave us free grated garlic to add to the ramen 🤌 You can never have enough garlic. I wish they would add more sides for the ramen though.

Low-key spot with very solid, sometimes inventive, takes on ramen classics. The tonkotsu broth is very rich without being too fatty, and has a nice toasty flavor. The cold tsukemen is very flavorful without being overwhelming, but very strong on the yuzu flavor. Solid sides. The charshitsu is good but not the best Ive had; it could stand to be a little fattier and more melt in your mouth.

New ramen spot in Pasadena! The ramen itself was good, the broth nice and creamy. However, I was not a fan of the black garlic oil. Ive never had it before, so maybe its what its supposed to taste like, but I honestly just thought it tasted like old/stale oil. Unfortunately I had already added it to my bowl, which was not ideal as there was just this after taste of oil after each bite.I had to take a star away because of my experience when I first went in. I arrived about 5 minutes after they opened, on the second day they were open. The place was still empty since they had just opened. I asked for a table for 2, but was waiting for my friend who lived across the street. I was asked if I wanted to wait on the side, since they normally dont seat incomplete parties. This is a policy Im fine with and have experienced at other restaurants, but generally only when they were busy. Every single table was empty in this instance. I was eventually seated after the server looked around and noticed no one else was there. When my friend arrived a few minutes later, only about 3 other parties had come in in the meantime.Back to the positive, they have hooks for purses under the table! Although not they dont quite work for long strapped cross body bags. 😜 However, one of the servers noticed my plight and brought over an extra stool for my purse.

HiroNori service is excellent, from the minute you walking in to the quality of service and attention that a customer is given. You get greeted on your way in and out. Food is delicious, and it has a bit of everything for everyone. If you want Ramen or a Salmon Poké bowl to just fried chicken. Servers are on it, they make sure to fill up your glass or if you need anything. I highly recommend this restaurant. Is fairly new. They have high seats for toddlers. The environment is very easy going, open seating, good for groups and families. Street parking or paid parking available. No parking validation for now.

I tried this place when it just opened. The food is still good. The flavor is bold enough. I wish they provide bigger piece of chashu and toppings. The noodle looks, well, watery because of that. However, when you start eating and enjoy the soup, you kinda forgot about it. The side dishes like karaage and spicy tuna on the crispy rice are solid.

I just got off work and was craving Ramen... I had the Tonkatsu Ramen with no veggies. The broth is really good. Rich and creamy. I would definitely come back. Only down fall is the parking they DO NOT VALIDATE..parking is $1.50 for every 15min. So basically you are in a rush to each your food. Also if you read the bottom left corner, it states Please no tipping. So that means they will add it to your bill.

I really enjoyed my dinner at HiroNori tonight (Monday). HiroNori is very popular in Irvine and we were excited when we heard that a location opened up in Pasadena. They opened shop around 2 weeks ago and are already very popular. We came at around 7:45 and the restaurant was almost at max capacity. Luckily, there were a few tables open and we were seated quickly!We ordered 2 tonkotsus, 1 shoyu, and 3 pork buns. Here we go:Shoyu - 5 stars: The shoyu broth is well crafted. Its 95% chicken broth and 5% pork so its definitely lighter than a tonkotsu but still very satisfying. Theres a hint of sweetness in the broth that I enjoyed! HiroNoris shoyu is definitely one of the best that Ive tasted in the area.Tonkotsu - 3.5 stars: I agree with some other reviewers that its not as rich or fatty as it could be. Even though the flavor is there, I think that if I was craving a tonkotsu ramen, it wouldnt really satisfy my craving. However, my sister and mom really enjoyed their bowls. I think your opinion of the tonkotsu will solely depend on how you rich you like your tonkotsu broth.Pork buns - 4.5: We all agreed that these pork buns are really good! Even my mom liked them.. and she usually doesnt express appreciation for food like that hah. A lot of times, youll have a pork bun that is too dry, but the pork here was very soft. Flavor was great as well.As you probably already know, HiroNori makes their own ramen noodles. Theyre kind of squiggly and thick, and cooked perfectly for a really nice mouthfeel. Factor in the friendly waitstaff and you get a 5 star ramen spot!

OH MAN!!!! This place is the real deal. I’ve been trying to find my “go to” spot in Pasadena, and though the competition is pretty good- nothing beats this broth!!! The tonkotsu was rich and creamy, filled with umami. Go for the original thick noodles, they have a chew that u want to experience. Great portion size and a lovely staff, this place is truly 5 stars for me. Only issue is limited parking but that keeps the riff raff out ;)

I got the Tonkotsu ramen with thick noodles and without green onions and bean sprouts. The soup is delicious. The noodles are well cooked to just al dente. The pork was too tough and not as tender as I would like. The egg was perfect and I liked the spicy sauce.Sunday at noon, waited 25min. The website doesnt tell you how long you will wait but tells you how long you have waited.My friends had the vegan ramen and loved it.

This place has great reviews on the vegan ramen so I came in to try it out. The ramen tasted a little weird and it lacked a bit of flavor but I powered through my ramen. I did not finish my ramen which I am glad I didnt finish my meal because I got sick after. Maybe my dish got cross contaminated but Im not planning on returning as a customer. I wish I had a good review for this place but this is not the case.

They charge you a 16.5% SERVICE FEE, AKA forcefully tip. Im all for tipping for good service but they only had 1 waitress for a full house! Had to get up after 20 minutes of waiting for my receipt. The ramen was decent the house chili is too harsh on the stomach but flavorless. No thank you HiroNori CROOK ramen. Another example of a restaurant putting itself on a pedestal just because theyre in a nice neighborhood.

Solid ramen restaurant, with good portions but I find a bit pricy.Staff are efficient, friendly and helpful.I ordered their shio ramen with extra seaweed. Flavours were blended well, the broth was clear (and not too oily) and the half egg was well made. I also like the garnish of bamboo shoots which was perfectly marinated.The noodles I heard are cut each morning and the freshness speaks for itself once you taste them.What I really like is their house hot sauce, which almost has this cream cheese texture to it. It has a hint of smokey-ness, is not too spicy when you first taste it but has a lingering flame for awhile. Quite a unique sauce, I wish they sell it for retail!Overall, an easily accessible location close to popular local shops. Would return!

The vegan ramen was very flavorful, it’s hard to find a rich creamy vegan broth. However, the service wasn’t very good and it seemed like they were trying to rush us out. I was finishing the last of my soup (probably about 1/3 left), and the waiter came by to take my bowl. She asked if I was finished as she grabbed my bowl, without waiting for an answer. My mouth was still full of food when she took it my bowl, so obviously I’m not finished!! They also charge an extra 15% service fee, and asks for tip, so the ramen ends up being almost $25 per bowl.

The tonkatsu ramen is light yet flavorful. Simple presentation, comes with noodle, 1/2 egg, bean sprout, seaweed, and spinach. Unfortunately, everything else is extra. With addition of an extra egg, and black garlic oil it comes close to $25. But kits worth the price during a cold rainy day.

Awesome food and really great service! This Ramen place is a little bit out of our way but we decided to head out to Pasadena in order to give it a try. That turned out to be a great idea. The ramen was spectacular and the crispy chicken was really great too. We got the black garlic oil as a topping for the ramen and would definitely recommend it. We did the Tonkotsu ramen and the broth is excellent. The pork was very tender and flavorful. I cant really come up with anything to be critical of with this one. Highly recommended.

This place has some of the absolute best ramen, my opinion of course, I have ever had outside of Japan. The broth is balanced, rich and flavorful without being oily. Woo! The pork in the ramen is braised and literally so tender it melts in your mouth. Also, had the pork bowl and the braised pork is also excellent on rice. I highly recommend the spicy cold dipping ramen if you are a fan of the tsukemen style. It is not your regular ramen, but it is delicious.I went here recently mid November. I came here because I heard the vegan ramen was great, and clearly so do a ton of other people, and for good reason! It is one of the few ramen places Ive been to that doesnt treat the vegan option like an afterthought or a lesser version of the meat option, and instead built a unique dish from scratch. Its delicious and up there with any meat ramen Ive had. I think the broth is sesame-based and is very rich in flavor without feeling too greasy. Upon walking in, your eyes are treated to a visually pleasing minimalist decor with earthly elements. Parking is not great at this location, but we parked for free on the street since it was Sunday. There is also free 90 minute parking in nearby lots.I always make sure to first try the Tonkotsu ramen of any new ramen restaurant and so that is what I ordered. I find there are two schools of looking for good ramen - one school is doing something unique, and one is doing the thing that everyones going to like exceedingly well. Hironori falls firmly in the latter camp, serving up a classic thick pork tonkotsu, but dont let that make you think its mundane; it is one of the very best in the city, and its the details that make it stand out.While I could believe thered be a line here on weekends, weekday dinner is quick to be seated, and quick to be served, our meals arriving in 5 minutes or so. Realistically youre either going to order the vegan ramen or the tonkotsu depending on your taste in pork - but both seemed good. Having had the tonkotsu myself, its everything youd want in your typical ramen - thick hearty broth, soft smooth egg, choice of thick or thin noodles. But the chashu really stands out - being of medium thickness but cooked to perfection with the edges crispy and the inside melt-in-your-mouth soft. Between those two opposite textures, somehow, the meat feels neither overcooked nor undercooked, and its this perfect balance which makes it one of the best chashus I can recall.The prices are standard for ramen - 11.7 for the tonkotsu - but one stand out feature is that hironori eschews tipping for a standard, included 15% gratuity. This makes payment easy and allows the peace of mind that the staff is being well compensated, which certainly shows in the service, which is not just quick but attentive and friendly.Beyond one fair warning that the shop does NOT validate for the parking downstairs (which is rather exorbitantly priced), this is pretty much everything one could ask for from a quality good-for-everyone tonkotsu ramen restaurant. Uneven food quality after 2 visits here within 2 weeks. Prompt & friendly service for solid ramen. The thickcut noodles have a nice, chewy texture. The salmon poke rice bowl had a very sparse amount of salmon & glue-textured rice. Chashu pork had balanced sweet, savory flavor and deeply browned char on one side. The tonkotsu broth tasted rich and porky. As a long-time client at Santouka Ramen, HiroNoris tonkotsu broth tasted better, was less salty than Santoukas. I ordered soy sauce ramen, and the soy sauce broth was very fragrant and smooth, not overly salty. Paired with chewy noodles, it had a refreshing quality when eaten.The portion of ramen was quite substantial; I couldnt finish a whole bowl because the amount of noodles was quite large!Whats unique is that the restaurant provides water infused with watermelon and cucumber, which is incredibly refreshing and thirst-quenching, especially during the summer!I ordered soy sauce ramen. The soy sauce soup base is very fragrant and smooth, not too salty. Instead, it is paired with springy noodles, which tastes refreshing!The portion of ramen is very generous, I couldnt finish a whole bowl because the portion is too big!Whats special is that the water provided by the store is watermelon and cucumber water, which is super refreshing and thirst-quenching in summer!

Not so authentic, it belongs to the improved American Japanese ramen.The char siu is too fatty and the ramen is a bit too chunky. Personally, I like more thin noodles.
