Was here for a casual dinner for party of 4 on a Friday night, and the place was surprisingly empty (we had to make reservations in advance). Decor was sparse modern and zen, the sushi bar could seat around 8 people and there were various tables for 2-4 people each. Attentive service. The omakase was good, well-paced and portions were just the right size. Food quality was excellent - the sushi courses came towards the end. Great experience overall and probably one of the best in the Bay Area.

Really really good Japanese food - every single serve is exceptional. The fishes are great, freshly picked from different regions in Japan. There are hidden taste and scent in every bite, so watch out for these subtleties. Highly recommended.

“Secrets of Silicon Valley” by Bradley N.Take the best meal you have ever had in your life. Multiply that by a factor of ten.Listen to Nothing Compares to You by Prince on repeat for about an hour.Fantasize about uni, toro, Wagyu, caviar, and countless other delicacies that would make the Empress of Japan jealous. Then think about a California wine so cult that only two restaurants in the United States list in on their menus. And one of those is the Four Seasons in New York. Now, imagine a two hour-long performance of culinary genius that is like a symphony in slow motion. No extraneous movements. Pure poetry in motion. Graceful motions, nonverbal communication, and edible arrangements that would not be out of place in a museum of modern art. This is Hiroshi. There is no better food and wine to be found in the San Francisco Bay Area. Maybe the world. Its hidden in plain site on a Main Street in Los Altos.Order Stone wine. Sit for afternoon omakase at the chefs counter. Breathe. Take your time. This is how the 1% of the 1% eat out. So, too, can you.I ate here with 5 other people today. It was amazing beyond words. If you dont eat here at least once on your life, you will regret it.I guarantee.Google it.Hiroshi passed away in 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic. Stress from having to close this understated but almost impossibly elegant temple to the triumph of human culinary creativity was a factor in his untimely death.I have been to many fine restaurants and has countless exquisite dining experiences over the years. But nothing compares to you, Hiroshi. Sir, your spirit lives on!

It was indeed a great experience. The taste was delicate and amazing. Even the everyday vegetables tasted so good. I love every single dish and had extra soup. The environment was unique - youll hear the sound of the beautiful waterfall on the wall and feel the zen. The wooden table has a history of 800 years, which is cool to learn about.

Amazing experience, the staffs are super nice. Provided excellent service. Of course it is not cheap, but we had great moment there. The food is fabulous, I particularly like the toro and Wagyu beef.

I got takeout here via Tock. I LOVED the bento! The nigiri were the best Ive had in the US, and the wagyu nigiri with uni exceeded all expectations.

Theres not enough to say about Hiroshi. I could use all these fancy words like magnificent, exquisite, high-end, delicate, and perfect, but they would not be enough to describe the omakase experience at Hiroshi. The 12 course omakase dining experience is truly specific to the place and time. Simply put, it was very memorable in the outside patio. I consider it a fine dining experience and a memorable escape. The house-made Sake was sweet and had an extremely balanced taste. I did not feel a thing the day after, even though we finished the whole bottle. Everything was paced perfectly, in terms of pouring sake and the food being served. The omakase experience was about 3 hours total. I highly recommend their house sake or a drink to enjoy the serenity in the outdoor patio. This was a time to forget about life. The omakase menu only says 12 courses, but somehow I remember more than 12 items. The wagyu, sashimi, cod, and o-toro were especially memorable, but everything was amazing quality, so I cannot single out a dish that was better than the rest. They even send you home with a special treat, which was icing on the cake the next morning. Again, everything Hiroshi gives becomes a core memory. The ambience and decor was another site to behold (even the bathroom mirror). Not to spoil anything, but theres an iPad that describes all the Japanese decor and story of Hiroshi. Thanks Kevin, chef and all the servers for the memorable experience! Ill be back one day to try the indoor omakase experience.

Absolutely amazing. $$$$$ If youre celebrating something such as an anniversary or birthday, grab your bestie or partner and come here. Food is incredible, must like Japanese appetizers and sushi. Foodie level 11. Sake menu off the hook. Did the Afternoon Menu, plenty of food for an early dinner (4p). Evening Menu looks to be much more food, portions might be smaller? 🤔 We will definitely be back to celebrate the next event, we believe we would have enjoyed the Evening Menu also...will probably try that next time.
