2023-08-04 20:00:23History Park San Jose is a unique and immersive outdoor museum located in San Jose, California. It offers visitors a glimpse into the citys past through various historical buildings, exhibits, and artifacts. 🏛️🏞️The park features more than 30 original and replica buildings from different periods of San Joses history, representing the diverse cultural heritage of the region. Visitors can explore these structures, including a firehouse, a blacksmith shop, a Chinese temple, and many others, to learn about the citys past and how it evolved over time. 🏰🚒🏯In addition to the buildings, History Park San Jose hosts various events, festivals, and exhibits throughout the year, celebrating the cultural traditions and history of the area. Its a great place for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone interested in understanding the rich heritage of San Jose and the Silicon Valley. 🌳🎉🌆

2023-03-14 07:52:49I use to live in San Jose over 12 years ago. I didn’t realize this town had so much history. When I came back last week so much has changed with new buildings, stores, and restaurants. So I decided to go back to the roots of this town. I did not realize a lot of the settlers we’re Portuguese. I’ve been to that country and I can see a resemblance of what looks like San Francisco in Lisbon, Portugal. But a lot cleaner in Portugal. I would highly recommend visiting that country too! I went over the weekday on a Monday which 99% of the buildings were closed. They only open the buildings on certain days. I think it was the weekends. But I do recommend going to take date or if you’re into getting to know the city and explore what looked like the city of San Jose.

2023-12-03 02:26:08Great groups of people and tours. Free admission and really great trolley rides for the family. Many of the locations were closed when they stayed they would be open for us. Would have been nice to see some of these closed locations.

2022-07-15 04:38:04Ok, I didnt know this place was here. We came to Kelley Park for the Japanese friendship garden, which was disappointing. We decided to explore and found this entire deserted town. Its amazing! I would have loved to have a picnic on the lawn and just enjoy this old-timey town. We spoke with one of the tour guides that just happened to be there and she was great. She had a lot of fascinating info. There is a gift shop, ice cream shop, and candy store that are open on weekends. Also, theres a trolley that runs on weekends and special events. I am really excited to find this hidden gem and I cant wait to come back. Check out the website for the list of special events. The guide said that the historic cars event is really cool, its like being on a movie set.

2022-08-19 03:39:36Super nice place to take a stroll. Family friendly, and it’s close to Japanese garden & happy hollow park/zoo. Defiantly recommend visiting it. Has a lot of history and cool how the city has preserved these old buildings. It’s also free to public.

2023-08-14 19:11:29Wonderful living museum. Historic buildings, automobiles, trolly, train, with lush grounds and loads of friendly volunteers in each exhibit. Everything is free, including a trolly ride, except parking that was $6.

2022-04-20 19:25:20Very quiet place in San Jose a recommended spot to walk and learn some history. It was a beautiful day noone was really in the park. Took some great photos. The outside area was not well kept but thats ok the inside makes up for it. Dont forget pay for parking. I know a lot of people dont.

2022-05-04 17:25:07My toddler loves History Park. Its a cute walkable area where my son can run around without worrying about bothering or disrupting anyone. Its free most days, but there are occasional paid events so check the calendar. Staff are so knowledgeable about the history and traditions of the park and buildings. You can get some ice cream and ride the trolley too! Definitely recommend for an easy, no fuss fun day.
