Great place, been around for 40+ yrs in a very old part of town. Few colorful characters on surrounding streets. Food was good, price was good. Lots of memories over the years. First time Ive ordered a cheeseburger. Big portion. Fries just right. Delicious. Coffee was hot. $17 two meals and a coffeeAddition 10/31/22Went for breakfast was huge servings. Sat at counter. This place is a gem hidden in Chinatown. It is my favorite place to grab breakfast and lunch. It makes you feel at home and the informality of it makes it really special. The grill sits 5 feet away from you and “pops” (that’s what regulars call him) turns around and asks “do you want an egg on top?”. My fiancé asked me where I wanted to eat for my birthday, I said Ho Ho Kafe. “Momma” (that’s also what regulars call her) is the sweetest lady and her children are really attentive. I was working abroad for 2 years, came back and she remembered me. This is where I wanna spend my money. The food is fantastic and inexpensive, large portions, good bang for the buck. People criticize the dirtyness and that the walls are dirty and what not. If you’re looking for something posh this is not the spot. If you’re looking for something homey, this is the spot. The fridge full of sodas, veggies, meats and random stuff give it a unique atmosphere and it’s always popping, especially on weekends. I have never written a review before, this is my first and probably my last. Just wanted to show my appreciation for what this place means to me.

Interesting spot. A little difficult to walk to with the construction at all of the rail crossings. Nothing to rave about but it was cheap and a decent portion size. I would consider going there again just to support the local community.

Well worth the morning walk from the hotel. Friendly staff, fast serve. Real working man’s place. No dumb dipsters, i mean hipsters, here. Food Fresh cooked before your eyes! - none of that over priced buffet precooked junk. Chicken chow mein for breakfast! Vegetable: perfectly cooked and still crunchy; noodles slightly crispy; chicken: seared just right! Yum!! I didn’t eat the decor or the ambience, so not gonna review those thing..

The sign outside says the best breakfasts in town and I would not argue with that. Lunches are also terrific. Not a place for Everyone as some may not find the location or ambience to their liking. Some may also question the cleanliness of the place but I tend to not be too bothered by that. Pork steak breakfast or lunch is as good as it gets.

This is my favorite place in Fresno. I’m only writing this because I am appalled at what some people have negatively written about this place. These people are family. My mother has been eating here since she was 5 years old. They are great people. They’re food tastes great. They have great customer service. They have amazing prices. This was my first time at Ho Ho Kafe, and I was honestly impressed with their courtesy and food!☕ Coffee was delicious, to me it has a slight Mocha undertone. I ordered a Veggie Omelette and Pancakes.. all of that for about $13. I was surprised!!Theyre a cash only restaurant, and I unfortunately wasnt carrying cash. But the waiter told me to eat first, and I can go to an ATM down the road when I was finished. 😭💜I appreciate the staffs kindness and hard work they do to run the café. I cant wait to come back again and bring some friends!

We have been coming here for 9 years and have never been disappointed. The food is wonderful. This is where the community gathers for food and fellowship. The patrons are a diverse group from the city and many friends have been made. Though some items may not appear on the menu just ask and they can usually accommodate you. You cant beat the prices. Breakfast for 2 is $10 and that includes coffee!

Prices are very reasonable and it is a very simple restaurant. My son enjoyed his 3 slices of french toast and for $3, I didnt have a complaint. The omelet was okay. The hash browns were under the large omelet. My meat and vegetable omelet with hash browns was only $8. I want to go back and try the Chinese food since that is their specialty.

FIrst time ordering. Had chicken chow mein to go. I work in the area and a group of us decided to try out the food since most reviews were high. Not sure what happened to the food or cook that day but the food we got was nowhere near as good as some other reviewers stated. No one like the food but not to say all the food was bad. The white rice under the undercooked noodles was ok. The chicken was old and dry. I could only eat like4 or 5 bites as didnt taste good at all and threw the rest away. Unfortunately for me, I developed food poisoning that night and recovering now, today 2nd day out of work. I dont like giving bad reviews but in this case. I have to call like I see it. Maybe it was just one of those days, who knows.....
